Rheta (Brundage) Kingham

Rheta (Brundage) Kingham, Shawnee, died Monday at her home. She was 75.

Mrs. Kingham was born on June 23, 1924, to Frank and Gladys (Logsdon) Brundage in Cushing.

She married Robert H. Kingham on May 28, 1971, in Shawnee.

She worked for S.H. Kress and Company from 1940-1968, Allen Lumber and Hardware and Allen Construction from 1968-1972, Shawnee Construction Company from 1972-1989 and David F. Little from 1989 to the present.

Mrs. Kingham was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the choir and served as an elder and treasurer of the Women's Association.

She was a member of the Altrusa Club of Shawnee, OES Shawnee chapter No. 43 and the American Association of Retired Persons Shawnee chapter No. 2654.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Kingham; her parents, Frank and Gladys Brundage; and a sister, Floreine Brundage Beard.

Survivors include two stepsons, Bob Kingham, Tecumseh, and Rick Kingham, Seattle, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Becky Kingham Pearce, Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren; two nephews, Steve Beard, Moore, and Ron Beard, Burns Flat; and a niece, Yavonne Beard Stephenson, Midwest City.

Services will be at noon today at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Max Shumake officiating.

Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Odessa M. Jackson

Shawnee resident Odessa M. Jackson died Monday at her home. She was 70.

Mrs. Jackson was born Dec. 13, 1928, in Konawa to Aaron Fleming and Della Powell. She was reared by her grandmother, Elizabeth Fleming. She married Ivie Douglas Jackson on Jan. 12, 1952, at Fort Smith, Ark.

She graduated from Konawa High School in 1941. She retired from Safeway and also worked at Colonial Estates Nursing Home. She was a member of Northeast Freewill Baptist Church and the Immanuel Baptist Church singing group, Jesus Heirs and The Sweet Adelines.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie L. and Keith Jones, Meeker; Phyllis and Jim Masingill, Kansas; daughter, Susan B. Nesbit, Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Timothy D. Wilson, Chris L. Jones, Steven and Lisa Masingill and Derek and Brody Nesbit; great-grandchildren, Aundrea Jones and Blaise Nesbit; sister-in-law and her husband, Zelma and Manley Mauldin; and special friend, Jo Whittington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ivie Jackson, in 1980.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Northeast Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Delbert Akin and the Rev. John Whittington officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Billy E. McCalister

Billy E. McCalister, Oklahoma City, died Saturday in Oklahoma City. He was 60.

McCalister was born Nov. 15, 1938, in Oklahoma City, the son of Lloyd and Goldie Hunter.

He married Margaret Ross on March 20, 1959.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Goldie Hunter; and a sister, Betty Sallee.

McCalister is survived by his wife, Margaret McCalister of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Karen McCalister, Oklahoma City; Michael McCalister, Oklahoma City; four daughters and a son-in-law, Carla and Michael McKee, Sr., Tuttle; Kathy McCalister and Kimothy Waggoner, Newalla; Robin Gregg and Alice Sallee; three sisters, Shirley Hedge, Shawnee; Pat Duke, Moore; Vera Mae Cunningham, Tahlequah; and seven grandchildren, Stacy McCalister, Tiffany McCalister, Michael McKee Jr., Billy Ray McKee, Carli Ann McKee, Kimothy Waggoner and Tyler Waggoner.

Services were held 2 p.m. Monday at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in southwest Oklahoma City.

Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Charity M. Kyle

Okemah resident Charity M. "Pat" Kyle died Saturday in Henryetta. She was 83.

Mrs. Kyle was born Oct. 23, 1915, in Castle, to Ben C. and Gertie M. (Marler) St. Cyr.

She graduated from Mason High School in 1932.

She married Oren Aubrey Kyle on July 18, 1936, in Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Kyle retired from the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture and had lived in Okemah since 1977.

She was a member of the First Christian Church and a resident of Okemah Pioneer Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her son, Oren Alan Kyle.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Mae Haithcock, Midwest City; two brothers, Leonard St. Cyr and Lester St. Cyr, both of Okemah; a sister, Ruby Scott, Kingston; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Will Eads officiating.

Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Okemah.

Johnny Ross Clarkson

Johnny Ross Clarkson, Oklahoma City, died Sunday in Oklahoma City. He was 79.

Clarkson was born March 2, 1920, to John C. and Camma Ocie (Herd) Clarkson.

He attended Stone School and graduated from Chandler High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Clarkson married Vola Simpson on June 12, 1943.

He operated a Phillips service station and later sold Phillips products for Jandahl Oil Company.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Chandler and served as a deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Camma Clarkson; and a son, Mickey Ross.

Survivors include his wife, Vola Clarkson of the home; a brother, V.C. Clarkson, Broken Arrow; two sisters, Mildred Clarkson, Chandler, and Fern McLean, Albuquerque, N.M.; a granddaughter, Lisa Smith, Oklahoma City; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan Gregg, Oklahoma City.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Chandler, with the Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler.

Iva Mae Roberts

Dale resident Iva Mae Roberts died Saturday in a McLoud nursing home. She was 69.

Mrs. Roberts was born July 30, 1930, in Shawnee, the daughter of Willie and Goldie Cluck.

She attended Shawnee and Dale schools and graduated from Dale High School.

She married Loyd H. Roberts on April 14, 1947, in Gainesville, Texas.

Mrs. Roberts worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was a secretary for Dale School system.

She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary in Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Little.

Survivors include her husband, Loyd Roberts, Dale; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Barbara and Wesley Little, Carol and David Alexander and Kathy and Terry Wilson, all of Dale, and Lida Wade; a sister, Dorothy Weston, Shawnee; grandchildren, Billy and Melinda Little, Nanci Alexander, Lisa and Doug Holmes, John and Dawn Little, Dawn M. Little, Chris Wilson, Adam and Connie Wilson, Jason Alexander, Joseph Wilson, Patrick Wilson and Larry and Tammy Little; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. today, at Hazeldell Baptist Church in McLoud, with the Rev. Doug Parker officiating.

Burial will be in Dale Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
