Neal Smith Weeks
Neal Smith Weeks, 87, formally of
Norman, Oklahoma died October 10,
2003, in Chino, California. Funeral
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m.,
Thursday, October 16, 2003, at the
Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in
Norman with Chaplain Harry Smith
officiating. Interment will follow at
Norman IOOF Cemetery in Norman.
Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Mr. Weeks was born April 13,
1916, in Pocasset, Oklahoma to Charles Henry and Anna Rutter
Smith Weeks. He married Letha Marie Hemken on December 24,
1935. Neal was in the Army Air Corps and stationed in Germany in
1945, then worked at Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement in
1967. Neal and Letha lived east of Norman until 1974, when they
moved to Oklahoma City. He was a member of Norman Masonic
Lodge #38, the Scottish Rite, and India Shrine.
Mr. Weeks was preceded in death by his wife, Letha; brothers,
Edward Lewis Weeks and Charles Alva Weeks; sisters, Ethel Lipe,
Gladys Carpenter, Lilac Harris and Edith Keith. He is survived by his
daughter, Peggy Gervais and husband, George and grandsons, Neal
Gervais and John Gervais and wife, LeeAnna.

Michael Meech Blue, M.D.
Michael Meech Blue, M.D., 60, of
Norman, Oklahoma, died Saturday, October
2, 2004, in Norman, Oklahoma. A private
family graveside service will be held. In lieu
of formal funeral services, the public is
invited to the Blue residence, 2005
Grandview Ave, Norman, to celebrate Dr.
Blue’s life with his family. Visitors may
come and go between 12:00 and 6:00 P.M.,
Wednesday, October 6, 2004. Services are
under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral
Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Dr. Michael Blue was born March
24, 1944, in Fairview, Oklahoma, to Amos Blue and Mary Lois
(Dague) Thompson. He graduated from Alva High School in 1962.
He received his bachelor of science degree from Northwestern State
University in Alva, Oklahoma, in 1966 and then graduated from the
University of Oklahoma School of Medicine in 1970. Dr. Blue
married Kathleen Maddox on February 1, 1969, in Enid, Oklahoma.
He served his residencies at the University of Oklahoma and then in
urology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. The
family moved to Norman on July 1, 1976, from Albuquerque, New
Mexico. Dr. Blue had been in private medical practice since July,
1976. He was a member of the Oklahoma Medical Association, the
American Urological Association, the Cleveland/McClain County
Medical Association and the Sooner Club. He was a member of
Bridgeway Church in Oklahoma City. Dr. Blue loved his family and
his work. He dearly loved his patients and O.U. football.
Dr. Michael Blue was preceded in death by his mother, Mary
Lois Thompson. Survivors include his wife, of thirty-five years,
Kathleen, of the home; three sons, Todd Blue & wife, Addie, of
Edmond, OK, Travis Blue and wife, Dorothy, of Los Angeles, CA
and Jonathan Blue, of Norman, OK; daughter, Amy Blue, of
Greensboro, NC; father, Amos Blue, of Alva, OK; sister, Mary
Robertson and husband, Rob, of Norman, OK; two brothers, Dr. Tom
Blue and wife, Jana, of Norman, OK and David Thompson and wife,
Ann, of Yukon, OK; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Health for
Friends, 317 E. Himes, Norman, OK 73071, a free medical service in
Norman for the poor, Dr. Blue’s favorite charity.

Kenneth Masters Dahl
Ret. Lt. Colonel Kenneth Masters Dahl (Ken) died September
3, 2003 after a long illness. He was born in Minneota, Minnesota to
Ethel Masters Dahl and Franklin Dahl on October 29th 1919. He
attended the University of Minnesota before going into the U.S. Army
Air Force after Pearl Harbor. He received his pilots license, wings
and commission in August 1942. He went overseas to North Africa
where he flew fifty combat missions over Italy and Germany. After
completing his mission, he served as a personal pilot to General Ira
C. Eaker, Commander of the 15th Air Force. He was a retired Lt.
Colonel of the Oklahoma Air National Guard.
Before going overseas, he married Doris Liddell of Shawnee,
Oklahoma on April 25th 1943, they celebrated their 60th wedding
anniversary this year.
Upon returning from overseas, he served as a flight instructor
at the air bases in Rapid City, SD and Pyote, TX. After his discharge
in August 1945, he worked at Scrivner-Stevens for two years before
becoming a home builder. He had a long career as a developer and
home builder in Norman and Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Ken will always be remembered for his complete honesty,
decency, and caring for everyone. He was a member of the Goodrich
Methodist Church, Grey Eagles and Trails.
He is survived by his wife, Doris of the home; son, Kenny and
wife, Pamela of Wewoka, OK; brothers-in-law, Harold Liddell and
wife, Jean Marie of Norman, OK, Dick Liddell and wife, Betty of
Norman, OK and Ken Sage and wife, Dorothy of San Diego, CA;
sister-in-law, Norma Jean Liddell; Judy Lancaster who cared for him
with so much love and many, many nieces and nephews whom he
loved deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Ethel
Dahl; his brother, Gordon Dahl and wife, Millie; sister, Muriel Jesse
and husbands, Paul Van Cleve and Bill Jesse.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, Sept.
8, at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Kelly Rose.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions
be made to Jacobs Ladder, P.O. Box 308, Chandler, OK 74834 or the
charity of your choice.

Paul Friesen
Paul Friesen, 86, of Norman,
Oklahoma, died Monday, September 1, 2003
in Norman, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will
be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 5,
2003 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in
Norman with Reverend Cal Brannon
officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00
P.M., at the Canute Cemetery in Canute,
Oklahoma with Military Honors. Pallbearers
will be Lowell V. Cunningham, LeRoy
Cunningham, Chris Cunningham, Toby Friesen, Tory Friesen and
Lance Friesen.
Loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend was born May
22, 1917 near Weatherford, OK to Peter & Katherine Friesen. He
graduated from Weatherford High School in Weatherford, OK. After
serving in the Navy in World War II, he attended college in
Okmulgee, OK. Then he was employed as a machinist at Tinker Air
Force Base for a number of years, retiring in 1965. After retirement
he purchased a car wash on Lindsey St, Serving the public from 1965
to 1980. In August 1947, he married Ruth Cotter; together they were
blessed with two sons, Gary & Shawn. The family has resided in
Norman, OK where all were Members of McFarlin Methodist
Church.
Paul & his family have been avid OU football fans attending all home
games for 30 plus years. During off season football, Paul and Ruth
enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their motor home.
He loved his home, always working on the landscaping & garden as
long as health would permit.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ruth, of the
home; two sons, Gary Friesen and wife, Karen, and Shawn Friesen,
all of Norman; three grandsons, Toby, Lance, & Tory Friesen, all of
Norman; one sister, Florence Anglin of Texas; three nieces and two
nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Peter & Katherine Friesen; five brothers and three sisters.
Family & friends will miss him greatly.
