Paula A. Gibson
Paula A. Gibson, 52, of Norman,
Oklahoma, died Friday, October 3, 2003
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M.,
Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at Alameda
Baptist Church in Norman with Reverend
Phil Ratliff officiating. Pallbearers will
be Ron Stewart, Chuck Drapala, George
Freeman, Dean Bailey, Ben Norman, Joe
Stubblefield and Ben Norman Jr. Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Gibson was born September 27, 1951 in Pauls Valley,
Oklahoma, to Lon and June Pauline Best Pearson. She graduated
from Pauls Valley High School in 1969. She married James Gibson
on August 23, 1976. Mrs. Gibson received her Bachelor and Master’s
Degrees in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma College of
Nursing. She worked at the O.U. Medical Center as Clinical Manager
of Women’s Services and was honored in 1987 with an Award of
Excellence for her service as director of the oncology unit. She also
served as an adjunct clinical faculty member for the University of
Oklahoma College of Nursing. Mrs. Gibson was a member of a
number of professional organizations including the Sigma Theta Tau
nursing honor society, the Oklahoma Nurses Association, the
Association of Women’s Health and was a founding member of the
O.U. Medical Center Employee’s Council.
Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her father, Lon
Pearson, sister, Dorothy Jean, brother, Lon William and grandparents.
Survivors include her husband, James of the home; daughter, Melissa
“Missy” Hutchison and husband, Nathan of Norman; mother, June
Pearson of Norman, two brothers, Lonny Pearson and wife, Mary of
Norman and Ronald Pearson and wife, Jayne of Burlington, Kansas,
six nieces and six nephews; a host of friends and co-workers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Cavett, 940
NE 13th, Childrens Hospital Oklahoma City, OK 73104.

Joline F. Hall
Joline Furnace Hall, 85 of Norman,
Oklahoma, died unexpectedly, Saturday,
September 6, 2003 in Norman, Oklahoma.
Interment will be at 11:30 a.m.,
Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at the
Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Norman,
Oklahoma. Memorial Services will follow
at 1:00 p.m. at the McFarlin Memorial
United Methodist Church, 419 South
University Blvd., Norman, Oklahoma.
The family has requested there be no
visitation. Services are under the
direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Hall .was born May 24, 1918, the second child of James
and Sarah M. Furnace. She attended elementary and high school in
Belton, Texas and graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor College in
1940. She was employed by the Texas Child Welfare Department
when the program first started in Texas. She was assigned to
Sherman, Texas, where she met and married Rufus G. Hall in 1944.
She moved to Norman after World War II, where her husband was
employed at the University of Oklahoma, in the Political Science
Department. Joline was a member of the McFarlin United Methodist
Church. She was active in the Norman Senior Citizens program,
taking part in their travel programs and playing bridge with many of
her friends. She was devoted to her family and actively involved in
helping them.
Mrs Hall was preceded in death by her parents, husband;
Rufus, in 1991. Survivors include her two children; daughter, Nancy
Hall of Austin, Texas and Son, Robin Hall and wife Sharon of
Arlington, Texas, three grandchildren; Brandon and Andrew Hall of
Arlington, Texas and Amy Hill of Austin, Texas. She is also
survived by her sister; Annie Laura Gibbs of Belton, Texas.

Scott Mitchell
Scott Mitchell, 46, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Sunday,
September 21, 2003, in Norman, Oklahoma. Scott was born
September 3, 1957 in Norman, Oklahoma, to E. Newton and Martha
Jane Brown Mitchell. He grew up in Norman and graduated from
Norman High School in 1975. He was a member of the 1975 State
Championship swim team at Norman High. Scott then attended
Oklahoma State University. His family owned and operated
fireworks sales. He farmed and raised cattle in partnership with his
father. Scott was also a mail carrier for twenty-five years serving the
Norman and Noble area. He took pride in his yard work and his
family. He loved to hunt and fish. He also loved to make people
laugh. His greatest joy was his three children.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his mother, Martha in
1982. Survivors include his wife, Julie; father, E. Newton of
Goldsby, OK; son, Trey; two daughters, Brandi and Savannah, all of
the home; brother, Newt Mitchell Jr and wife, Gina of Norman;
paternal grandmother, Ruby Ratliff of Norman, OK and numerous
relatives and friends.

Dean Hodges Crew Robbins
Dean Hodges Crew Robbins, 78, of
Norman, Oklahoma, died September 4, 2003,
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mrs. Robbins
was born November 20, 1924 in Macomb,
Oklahoma, to James Anthony and Allie Eliza
Burden Henderson. She grew up in Macomb
and graduated from Macomb High School.
After graduation she moved to Shawnee,
Oklahoma and worked as a dental assistant.
Dean married Ralph A. Hodges on December
22, 1945 in Shawnee, he preceded her in death on July 25, 1968. In
January 1950, she moved to Norman, Oklahoma from Shawnee.
Dean earned her living by managing her own real estate investments
from 1971 until her death. She married Howard F. Robbins on
August 30, 1993 in Norman. She enjoyed a number of hobbies
including reading, gardening, china painting, dancing and playing the
piano. She was a member of the Town and Country Garden Club, the
Norman Chamber of Commerce, the League of Women Voters, Beta
Sigma Phi, the ExLibras Book Club and St. Stephen’s United
Methodist Church.
Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by her parents; first
husband, Ralph; and one brother and two sisters. Survivors include
her husband, Howard of the home; daughter, LaDean Hodges
Campbell of Norman, OK; three stepsons, Philip E. Robbins of
Glenwood Springs, CO, Gary Robbins and wife, Lisa of Reno, NV
and David C. Robbins and wife, Kathy of Norman, OK; one brother,
Jimmy Dale Henderson and wife, Kay of Eugene, OR; two
grandchildren, Heather Campbell Vaughn and husband, Joe of
Edmond, OK and Robert A. Campbell Jr. and wife, Jacqlyn of Tulsa,
OK; and two great-grandchildren, Haven and Grayson Vaughn.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Stephen’s
United Methodist Church, 1801 W. Brooks, Norman, Oklahoma
73069.

Betty Jean Robertson
Betty Jean Robertson, 74, of Norman, Oklahoma, died
Tuesday, September 16, 2003, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Robertson was born June 13, 1929 in Oklahoma
City to Edwin and Edie Bell. She was a long time member of
Harmony Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Betty was a
talented artist and seamstress. She married Howard Robertson
on August 26, 1945 in St. John, Kansas. She enjoyed working
with her flowers and yard as well as crafts and all types of
handiwork.
Mrs. Robertson is survived by her husband of 58 years,
Howard, of the home; son, Dale of St. Louis; daughter, Connie
Brown and husband, Darrel of Orlando, Florida; four
grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister in law, Gene
Anderson of Edmond, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
