Johnny Joe Fixico

Johnny Joe Fixico, infant son of Seminole residents Johnny Michael Fixico and Sonya Gwyn Wise Talamasy Fixico, was stillborn Thursday in Oklahoma City.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Hitchitee Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ted Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Hitchitee Cemetery. Swearingen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his parents, of the home; paternal grandmother Annie R. Hicks, Seminole; maternal grandparents Raymond J. Wolf and Sallie Harjo, Seminole; maternal uncles Allen Hulbutta, Seminole, and Joe Kemp, Ada; maternal great-great aunt Ophal Ahassie, Seminole; several paternal aunts and uncles; two brothers, Cory Nedd, Seminole, and Michael W. Fixico, Cromwell, and a sister, Sarah A. Fixico, Cromwell.

Ruby May Loftis

Ruby May Loftis, 75, Shawnee, died Friday at a local nursing home.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Dan Reihing officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

She was born Dec. 9, 1922, in Hartshorne to Tom and Maud Parker. She married Guy Loftis on Oct. 6, 1960, in Hartshorne, and has lived in Shawnee since.

She worked at the Sylvania Company, Shawnee, and General Electric, Oklahoma City. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Rock Island Woman's Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; stepchildren Bill Loftis, Shawnee; Darrell Loftis, Shawnee; Wynona Nitzel, Yukon; and Ronnie Loftis, Bethany; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Ray Parker, Fort Smith, Ark.; Jay Parker, Royal Oak, Mich.; and Max Parker, Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Clifford Payne, in 1987; and four sisters.

Robert Bruce Robertson

Robert Bruce Robertson, 64, a longtime Seminole resident, died Friday in Oklahoma City following a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 29, 1933, in Purcell to James Matt and Viola Mae Penny Robertson. He graduated from Central High School, Oklahoma City, in 1951 and earned a bachelor of science in geology from the University of Oklahoma in 1959. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He married Elizabeth Ann Adwan on March 3, 1956, in Seminole. He moved to Seminole in 1969, where he was a co-owner of Adwan's Specialty Shop. He was the U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Oklahoma at the time of his death.

He belonged to many civic organizations, was inducted into the Seminole Hall of Fame in 1981 and was past president of the Seminole Chamber of Commerce. Robertson served on many boards, including the Seminole Municipal Hospital and the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Seminole.

He was preceded in death by his father his parents-in-law and a niece.

He is survived by his wife, of the home; his mother, Oklahoma City; his son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Mary Robertson, Norman; son Bruce Robertson, Edmond; his sister and brother-in-law, Clara and Gerald McPhail, Bethany; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Patty Robertson, Tulsa; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Alex and Teresa Adwan, Tulsa; two grandchildren, Alex and Elizabeth Robertson, Norman; and one niece and three nephews.

Graveside services will held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, Seminole. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Eva Fay McCoy

Shawnee resident Eva Fay McCoy died Wednesday at a local hospital. She was 69.

Mrs. McCoy was born Dec. 2, 1929, in Bearden, Okla., to Roy and Clemmie DeShields. She married Howard McCoy on March 3, 1964.

She attended Bearden Schools and moved to Shawnee when she was a child. She was a homemaker and member of Oakland Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Howard McCoy, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Lewis and Tina McCoy, Shawnee; sons, Tommy and Bobby McCoy, both of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and David Holmes, Shawnee; sisters, Coeta Branscum and Violet Goodnight, both of Shawnee, and Linda Lockard, Tecumseh; three brothers, William Brice DeShields, Eufaula, Jerry DeShields, Shawnee, and Jackie DeShields, Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, Howard McCoy, Jayekay McCoy, Dustin McCoy, Eric McCoy, Blake McCoy, Jimmy Reeves and David Holmes Jr., all of Shawnee; three stepgrandchildren, Francis Holmes, Brandy Holmes and Jimmy Allen Holmes, all of Oklahoma City; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marvin Dean DeShields; and sister, Roberta Sellers.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Stock officiating.

Arden L. Anderson

Shawnee resident Arden L. Anderson died Monday at his home. He was 52.

Anderson was born Aug. 10, 1946 in Elk City to Kermit M. Anderson Sr. and Lillian M. (Haugerud) Anderson. He married Judy Lovelace on June 21, 1973, in Clinton.

He moved to Shawnee in 1960 and then lived in Clinton and Oklahoma City before returning to Shawnee in 1978. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1964 and attended Oklahoma State University Tech in Oklahoma City.

He worked as a surveyor for the Oklahoma State Highway Department for about 10 years and also worked several years for Derek Oilfield Supply of Elk City. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Shawnee where he was an elder.

Survivors include his mother, Lillian Anderson, Shawnee; son, Justin Anderson, Oklahoma City; brothers, Orlo Anderson, Shawnee, and Kermit Anderson Jr. of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Harlan and Barbara Anderson, Danville, Calif.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Bill Edwards, Houston, Texas, Doris and Chalk Norton, Shawnee, and Joyce and Mike Garver, Los Banos, Calif.; former wife, Judy Kinney, Mustang; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Angelene Walker; and brother, Claire Anderson.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Organization or the American Kidney Foundation.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gary Brandt officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Bobbie Jean Cheatwood

Shawnee resident Bobbie Jean Cheatwood died Wednesday in Shawnee. She was 39.

Mrs. Cheatwood was born Jan. 15, 1960, in Oroville, Calif., to Ralph and Virginia Brooks. She had lived in Shawnee for the past two years, moving from Prague. She was a member of Calvary Way Church in Prague.

Survivors include one son, Danny Joe Cheatwood Jr., Prague; two daughters, Virginia Washington, Mannford, Okla.; and Amanda Cheatwood, Prague; former husband, Danny Cheatwood, Prague; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Arlington Cemetery, north of Prague, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague, with the Rev. Starland Davis officiating.

Terry Lee Northcross

Terry Lee Northcross died Tuesday in Shawnee. He was 51.

Northcross was born Sept. 22, 1947, in Tulsa to Hardy and Maudie Leona (Peltier) Northcross. He married Rita Edwards on Oct. 13, 1993, in Shawnee.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a roofer and attended Faith Believers Church in Sparks.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Northcross, Chandler; stepsons, Lonnie Payne, Tecumseh, and Larry Payne, Quitaque, Texas; stepdaughters, Lisa Almand, Harrah, and Linda Canada, Shawnee; brothers, Hardy Northcross, Tulsa, Joe Northcross, Henryetta, Larry Northcross, Afton, and Phillip Northcross, Meeker; sisters, Thalia Daniels and Cathy Johns, both of Okmulgee, Lynn Northcross, Tahlequah, and Lela Wakley, Chandler; 11 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Faith Believers Church in Sparks with Ron Walker officiating. Burial will be in White Dove Cemetery in Sparks under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler.

Duane Allen Tully

Long-time Konawa resident Duane Allen Tully died Tuesday in an Ada hospital. He was 51.

He was born April 11, 1948, in Shawnee, the son of Gene Allen and Anna (Ellis) Tully. He had lived most of his life in a Konawa nursing home.

His father and grandparents preceded him in death.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Gene (Anna) Tully, Shawnee; brother, Michael Gene Tully, Oklahoma City; uncle, Max Tully, Wichita, Kan., and aunt, Lena Clark, Stockton, Calif.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ellis Rolette will officiate.

Oburn Milford Cochran

Oburn Milford Cochran of McLoud died Tuesday in an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 83.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, McLoud, with burial in Jamison Cemetery. Further arrangements will be announced by Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Daniel Raymond Sharp

Lifelong Wewoka resident Daniel Raymond Sharp died Monday at a Prague hospital. He was 55.

Sharp was born April 15, 1944, in Wewoka to Dewey Carl Sharp and Maudie (Molleur) Sharp Jackson.

He was a carpenter and a veteran of the National Guard. He was a member of House of Prayer in Wewoka.

Survivors include his mother, Maudie Jackson, Seminole; mother of his children, Helen Ruth Brown, Cromwell; two sons, Raymond Sharp and Bobby Sharp, both of Wewoka; three daughters, Kathy Dodson, Wewoka, Patty Goad, Shawnee, and Wanda Carder, Tahlequah; four brothers, George Sharp, Wewoka, Kennith Sharp, Chickasha, Carl Sharp, Yukon, and Joseph Sharp, Jones; four sisters, Bonita Burkhart and Geneva Coy, both of Los Alamos, N.M., Juanita Hume, Espanola, N.M., and LeVita Pearson, Little Rock, Ark.; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, and brothers, David Sharp and Dewey Sharp Jr.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at House of Prayer in Wewoka with the Rev. Johnny Chesser officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
