Opal Frances Wilson

Opal Frances Wilson died Thursday in Tulsa. She was 79.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Chandler. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 23, 1918, in Loraine, Texas, to John and Molly (McIntire) Richburg. She married Winston Wilson on Aug. 5, 1942, at Sweetwater, Texas.

Mrs. Wilson worked as an accounting clerk and was a member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church, Tulsa.

Survivors include her husband, Winston Wilson, Tulsa; daughter, Pam Truelove, Tulsa; son, Randy Wilson, Vancouver, Wash.; brother, Lester Richburg, Hart, Texas; sisters, Macie Adrain, Petersburg, Texas; Oma Herm, Ackerly, Texas; Blanche Pendergrass, Temple City, Calif.; Nola Taylor, Loraine, Texas; five grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and three sisters.

Opal D. Shelton

Former Shawnee resident Opal D. Shelton died Wednesday in Olympia, Wash. She was 90.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Liberty Baptist Church. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Charley Wesley Smith

Shawnee resident Charley Wesley Smith died Monday at a local hospital. He was 79.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with Dwayne Dennis and Don Sullivan officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Smith was born May 13, 1919, in Wewoka to W.C. and Ellen Smith. He married Altha E. Henson on Jan. 24, 1939, in Shawnee.

Smith served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1979. He was a member of Central Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Altha, of the home; son, David W. Smith, Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Charles R. and Carol A. Smith, Wichita, Kan.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three sisters and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and one brother.

Cye B. Webb

Shawnee resident Cye B. Webb died Thursday at a local hospital. He was 76.

He was born Dec. 2, 1922, in Pottawatomie County to William C. and Mollie (Stiffler) Webb.

Webb married Martha Adele Merritt on June 12, 1943, in North Augusta, S.C.

He started out as a brick mason in 1946 but worked as a masonry contractor from 1953 to 1962. He worked as a independent building contractor from 1962 until his retirement in 1997.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He also was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 107 and Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local No. 5.

Survivors include his wife, Adele Webb, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Doug Wing, Norman, and Donna and Chuck Dirickson, Chelsea; son, Steven Webb, San Francisco, Calif.; five grandchildren; one stepgrandson; eight great-grandchildren; and a number nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter, Melissa Kay Schweizerhof.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty Baptist Church with Bill Matthews and Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Maude Null

Seminole resident Maude Null died Friday. She was 88.

She was born March 8, 1911, in Comanche County, Texas, to Lon and Lena Mae (Howell) Gowdy.

She married Bernie Null Jan.10, 1933, in Drumright. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1988.

Mrs. Null, a former Mannford resident, moved to Seminole in 1937. She was a homemaker. She also was a Southern Baptist and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Ricky Null.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Jenny Null, Seminole, and Bill and Pat Null, Mustang; brother, Hershel Gowdy, Tuscon, Ariz.; grandchildren and their spouses, Teresa and Dale DeBord, Brent and Aimee Null, Rita and Kelly Casey, and Debbie and Eric Whitt; and eight great-grandchildren, Cory Lemley, Jayson DeBord, Andy DeBord, Britni Null, Cailee Null, Braden Null, Caleb Whitt and Trent Casey.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Cal Hunter officiating under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Nash M. Rader

Oklahoma City resident Nash M. Rader died Friday in Oklahoma City. He was 89.

Rader was born Jan. 2, 1910, in Tecumseh to Jewett and Exena (Dragoo) Rader.

He married Inez Skaggs on Sept. 4, 1932, at Capitol Hill, Oklahoma City. They celebrated their 65th anniversary in 1997 before she preceded him in death on May 16, 1998.

Rader was raised in Tecumseh. He was a 1929 graduate of Tecumseh High School. He graduated from Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Mo. He began his business career with A&B Spring Co. He also was co-owner of Modern Wheel Alignment.

He lived for many years in Midwest City, where he and his wife owned and operated Rader's Grocery Store for more than 30 years. In 1966, they moved back to Tecumseh and lived on the Rader Family Homestead.

Following his retirement, Rader managed Pratt's Warehouse in Shawnee. In 1993, he and his wife moved to the Baptist Retirement Center in Oklahoma City, where he was a member of the Baptist Temple. He and his wife also were charter members of Dickson Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Farrell J. and Shirley Rader, Smithville, Texas, Don S. and Bonnie Rader, Edmond, and Dick A. and Sue Rader, Shawnee; sisters, Emma Branson, Tecumseh, and Ible Williams, Hanford, Calif.; brother, George Rader, Tecumseh; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gussie Rader and Champ Rader.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Dr. Dick A. Rader officiating. Graveside committal will be at noon at Arlington Memory Gardens.

Elizabeth Banther

Elizabeth Anne Banther, 72, Shawnee, died Wednesday at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Tecumseh Mission Cemetery. Chaplain Al Campbell will officiate.

She was born July 29, 1925, in Charleston, W.Va., to Charles M. and Jennie Lively Fontaine.

She married Roy John Banther and was active in civic affairs, including counting votes by hand. She was a Methodist and had lived in Shawnee since 1970.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jayne and Lloyd Crowder, Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Robert G. and Debbie Stitt, Charleston, W.Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Jayne and Dick Hill, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; grandsons Robert S. Stitt II and Brandon Corns; one niece; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her mother-in-law, Cora Lee Banther; and nephew Stephen Hill.

Resthaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ivy C. Noble

Longtime Okfuskee County resident Ivy C. Noble, 85, died Thursday in a Tulsa hospital.

She was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Chandler, the daughter of James A. Embry and Ivy Boatright.

She married George T. Noble in Okmulgee on April 10, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1996. She was a homemaker and moved from Okmulgee County to Okfuskee County about 20 years ago.

She is survived by one brother, James A. Embry II, Oklahoma City, and one sister, Dorothy Webb, Okemah.

Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Okemah.
