Jack E. Simpson

Shawnee resident Jack E. Simpson died Saturday in Oklahoma City. He was 91.

He was born Aug. 15, 1908, in Maud to John and Millie Simpson.

He married Thaida Turner Dec. 24, 1929, in Shawnee. They celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Simpson attended Appatoue School, Washington Elementary School in Shawnee and Shawnee High School. He worked for Sunshine Biscuit Co. in Oklahoma City for 28 years. He retired in 1973 from Kib Warrens, where he worked for 17 years.

He was baptized in the Christian church and helped gather food and clothing for the needy and donated to local churches.

Survivors include his wife, Thaida Simpson of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie Ann and Jimmy Madden, Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Helen Quigley, Amarillo, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Nita Simpson, Amarillo, Texas; several nieces and nephews including, Fred Turner, Shawnee, and Frankie Henderson and Eddie Vandiver, both of Oklahoma City.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Leroy Kerbo officiating under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Ruth Z. Shultz

Shawnee resident Ruth Z. Shultz died Friday at a local hospital. She was 91.

She was born Feb. 8, 1909, in Springfield, Ohio, to Thomas S. and Florence (Wilder) Zahm.

She married Jerry K. Williams in 1937. He preceded her in death in December 1964. She then married Harold M. Schultz in 1967. He preceded her in death in December 1997.

Mrs. Shultz graduated from Springfield High School and attended Miami University and graduated from the University of Alabama.

She taught elementary through high school students in Springfield Public Schools for more than 35 years and retired from Springfield North in 1967.

She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Amy Williams, Toledo, Ohio; stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Pete and Penny Schultz and Richard and Jan Schultz, all of San Francisco, Calif.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and sister, Mrs. Roy (Marjorie) Cramer, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husbands and two sisters, Sarah Zahm and Constance Dalie.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Max Shumake officiating. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Ohio, under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

The casket will remain open until 8 p.m. Wednesday. The family will be at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel 1 p.m. Thursday for visitation.

Blythe L. Zevely

Former Seminole resident Blythe L. Zevely of Longview, Texas, died Sunday in Hallsville, Texas. He was 86.

Zevely was born Feb. 2, 1914, in Sapulpa.

He graduated from Prairie View High School in Seminole.

He worked as a shift foreman at Petrolite in Kilgore, Texas, for 34 years before his retirement.

He was a member of Eastview Baptist Church.

Survivors include his two sons and daughters-in-law, Daryl and Dorothy Zevely, Hallsville, Texas, and Gary and Judy Zevely, Houston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ken Ragle, Kilgore, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Jerome and Carol Zevely, Stockton, Calif.; sister-in-law, Inell Zevely, Amarillo, Texas; seven grandchildren, Mitch Friday, Friday, Texas, Clay Zevely, Sapulpa, Scott Zevely, Austin, Texas, Shea Thompson, Marshall, Texas; Ann Terry, Burkburnett, Texas, Shelly Ragle, Shreveport, La, and Zevely Hatcher, Kilgore; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Greater Hospice of Longview or the volunteer program at the Longview Cancer Center.

The family will receive visitors 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Rader Funeral Home, Kilgore, Texas.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buddy Duggins and the Rev. Art Warfield officiating.

Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.

Debra F. Pooler

Former Shawnee resident Debra F. Pooler of Oklahoma City died at the age of 47.

She was born June 18, 1952, in Shawnee. She was the daughter of Charles and Betty Day.

She married Garry Pooler on June 16, 1988, in Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Floyd and Mary Day and F.V. "Brone" Brewer; father-in-law, Richard Pooler; and grandmother, Ola Elws.

Survivors are husband, Garry Pooler; father and stepmother, Charles and Gerri Day of Del City; mother, Betty Holland of Shawnee; brother, Chuck Day of Shawnee; niece, Charli Day and nephew, Floyd Day of Shawnee; grandmother, Maxine Brewer of Shawnee; aunt, Loretta Nixon of Shawnee; aunt, Jane Hardesty of Houston, Texas; mother-in-law, Peggy Pooler; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Vicki Pooler and many cousins.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at the South Colonial Chapel under the direction of Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuaries.

Jewel Jordon Nolan

Jewel "Judy" Jordon Nolan, Prague, died Sunday in Prague. She was 72.

Mrs. Nolan was born May 11, 1927, in Goodman, Mo., to L.H. "Charles" and Pearl (Smith) Bellamy.

She married James Jordon. He preceded her in death. She later married Archie Nolan in 1980.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Nolan was preceded in death by her parents, L.H. and Pearl Bellamy; four sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Archie Nolan of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Joy Jordon-Leaver and Joe Villarreal, Antioch, Calif.; three stepdaughters and a stepson-in-law, Ann Carpenter, Prague; Pam and Rick Axton, Prague; Debra Nolan, Midwest City; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating.

Burial will be in Prague Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.

Buford Lynn Fellows

Buford Lynn Fellows of Tecumseh died Wednesday. He was 55.

He was born March 7, 1945, in Tecumseh to Cecil and Mattie (Bowden) Fellows. He graduated from Harjo High School in 1963. He was a lifelong resident of Tecumseh.

He married Zona M. Moutaw on Sept. 12, 1964, at Tinker Air Force Base.

Until 1978, he was a paint shop supervisor at Tinker Air Force Base. At the time of his death, he was director of transportation for Tecumseh Public Schools.

Fellows was a member of the Oklahoma Association of Pupil Transportation (OAPT) for 18 years. He was Sunday school superintendent and deacon for many years at Tecumseh Church of God. He was also a Cub Scout leader for many years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Thomas Lynn Fellows; granddaughter Sarah Marie Fellows and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Moutaw.

Surviving are his wife, Zona Fellows of the home; two daughters, Tina Fellows of Little Rock, Ark., and Racquel "Rocky" Willis of Shawnee; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Samuel James Fellows of Norman; and Robert and Cheryl Fellows of Tecumseh; father-in-law James Moutaw of Harjo; a brother and sister-in-law, Bernie and Julie Fellows of Shawnee; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Lena Gokey of Pawnee; Benita and Jerry Belcher of Oklahoma City; Bonnie and John Kruger of Newcastle; and Bertha and Ted Cantrell of Moore; one granddaughter, Regina Fellows; two grandsons, Robert Fellows Jr. and Dakota Blanchard; and many other family members and friends.

The family has chosen the American Heart Association as appropriate for memorials.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Tecumseh High School gymnasium with Bob Anderson and Bill Haddox officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.

The casket will remain open until service time.

Betty Jean Doshier

Seminole resident Betty Jean Doshier died Tuesday. She was 65.

Mrs. Doshier was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Chickasha. She married Troy L. Doshier in 1952, in Chickasha.

She worked as a CNA and CMA. She volunteered at the Salvation Army in Seminole.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bill and Leon Stiles; and a sister, Patricia Ewell.

Survivors include her husband, Troy L. Doshier Sr., of the home; four children, Troy and Karen Doshier, Shawnee; Kathy and Joe Poppinga, Mustang; Tresia and Bill Rebeck, Broken Arrow; Roy and Tammy Doshier, Stratford; a brother, Bernard Stiles, Beeville, Texas; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Paylor Funeral Home Chapel in Midwest City, with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating.

Burial will be in Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City.
