Nancy June Pratt
Nancy June Pratt, 38, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Tuesday,
February 25, 2003 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral Services
will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at Little Axe
Baptist, Norman, Oklahoma with Reverend Sunny Stuart officiating.
Pallbearers are David Ohse, Richard Ohse, Terry Blanchard, Virgil
Little Charlie, Russell Blanchard, Thomas Goodman. Services are
under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman,
Oklahoma.
Ms. Pratt was born June 11, 1964 in Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma, to Roy Edward Pratt and Alice June Gray Pratt. She
graduated from high school at Little Axe, Oklahoma and she attended
Rose State College in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Ms. Pratt was a
cook at the Thunderbird Casino in Little Axe. She was a member of
the Little Axe Baptist Church.
Ms. Pratt was preceded in death by her father, Roy Edward
Pratt; maternal grandparents, Earl and Dollie Gray; and paternal
grandparents, LeRoy & Lucille Pratt. Survivors include her mother,
Alice June Pratt of Norman; daughter, Rebecca Ann Pratt of the
home; two stepdaughters, Jamie Lynn Ondrejovich and Tracy
Ondrejovich, both of Norman, Oklahoma; five brothers, Roger Pratt
of Norman, James Pratt and wife, Sandy of Toledo, Ohio, Steve Pratt
of Oklahoma City, OK, David Pratt of Norman, OK and William R.
Pratt and wife, Wanda of Norman, OK; and several nieces and
nephews.

JoEva (Burton) SAND
SAND, JoEva (Burton) went peacefully
to be with her Lord on Friday, February
28, 2003, from her home of the last two
years at her middle daughter's residence
in Norman. She was embraced by love,
comfort and prayers, with her children at
her side. She struggled valiantly with
Alzheimer's disease for fourteen years
before finally giving up the fight. JoEva
was born August 2, 1922, in Minco,
married the love of her life, Harrold
Frederick (Shorty) Sand on July 17, 1940 in El Reno, OK. They
enjoyed forty-two years of marriage together before Harold passed
from his earthly life in October 1982.
She was also predeceased by her mother and father; sister,
Margaret Burton Jones, El Reno, OK; brother, Garold Burton,
Roswell, NM. and infant brother and sister Paul and Ila Pauline
Burton, Minco, OK. She is survived by four children; Sharon Sand
Stone and husband Cecil, Hermitage TN; Harold Sand and wife
Sharron, Wagoner OK; Gwen Sand Wharton and husband Bart,
Norman OK; and Jan Sand Melton and husband Phil, Henderson
TN; sister, Edna Burton Bowers, El Reno, OK; a loving legacy of
nine grandchildren; Cyndi Stone Holland (Ken), Scott Stone and
Jane, Randy Sand and Teresa, Lisa Sand Hornberger and Todd,
Jeff Briscoe and Kim, Malinda Tmog and Ross, Pam Wharton
Ledgerwood and Jim, Shari Wharton Calia, and Lisa Wharton
Mattich and Jeff; nineteen beloved great-grandchildren; Mitch and
Hailey Holland, Alana and Jenna Stone, Randy, Steven and Staci
Sand, Billy and Brennan Hutchens, Brian, Mitch and Amia
Homburger, Amber and Ryan Ledgerwood, Brett Wilson, Katrina
and Connor Calia, Natalie and Blake Mattich, and "granddaughter
by love", Jennifer Gibson; five sisters-in-law, which include her
"sisters of the heart", Lorena Swaffar and Phyllis Burton; and a
host of nieces, nephews and friends.
JoEva was employed by Penney Termite Company as office manager
for many years where she e-grandmother, sister
and aunt. She was a long-time member of Putnam City Baptist and
Millwood Baptist Church. Her faith and Christian values were
evident in her daily life to all that knew her. The family would
like to thank Dr. Tom Merrill and nurse Pam for adding love and
support to the professional care provided to their Mother. There
are no words to describe the love, care, devotion and spiritual
support we received from the wonderful team at Carter Hospice of
Oklahoma City; especially Nurse Liz, Chaplain Mary and Aide
Janice. Thank you for helping JoEva to maintain the highest
possible level of dignity, comfort, and quality of life. Particular
affection is in our hearts for special friends Lonnie Moore, Brenda
Opie and Bonnie Hill, Sharon and Cecil Stone's SS class, and other
friends for their prayers and personal ways of helping the family to
have an occasional break and encouragement. JoEva's family and
wide circle of friends have had their Christian faith reinforced by
witnessing her determination and fortitude in the face of the many
adversities and assaults against her mind and person over the years
by the Alzheimer's disease process. To the end she maintained the
dignity, beautiful smiling face and eyes, sweet nature and totally
unselfish character we have always respected and admired. The
difference she has made in the lives she touched will always be
remembered. The family will receive guests Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m. at
Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Services/will be held at Havenbrook Funeral Home,
Norman at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday with Brother Max Alexander,
Putnam City Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at El
Reno Cemetery, Memorial gifts may be made to The National
Association of Alzheimer's or Carter Hospice of Oklahoma City,
Pallbearers will be Scott Stone, Randy Sand, Jeff Briscoe, Mitch
Holland, Ken Holland, Brett Wilson, Jeff Mattich and Ray Jones.

Kathleen W. Berg
Kathleen W. Berg,79, of Norman, died Friday, January 3,
2003 in Norman, Oklahoma. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00
p.m., on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at the Norman IOOF Cemetery in
Norman, with Chaplain Tom Amos officiating. Services are under
the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
Mrs. Berg was born on April 1, 1923 in Ardmore, Oklahoma
to Elmer and Estella (Ball)
Williams. She married Eugene R. Berg on May 25, 1943.
Mrs. Berg was preceded in death by her parents; her husband
on April 4, 1990; a brother, J. C. Williams and a sister Opal Gwen
Middleton. She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Jean Berg and
husband, Dean Ripley and one granddaughter, Sasha Marie Ripley of
Norman, Oklahoma. a brother, Cecil Williams and wife, Barbara of
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Lois Sperry and husband,
Howard of Lubbock, Texas and Alma Marshall and husband, L. K.
of Healdton, Oklahoma.

Joan H. Blaylock
Joan H. Blaylock, 67, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Thursday,
January 2, 2003 in Norman, Oklahoma. Memorial Services will be
held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 6, 2003 at Little Axe Baptist
Church in Norman, Oklahoma with Reverend Sonny Stuart
officiating. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral
Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Blaylock was born May 21, 1935 in Harrison, Arkansas,
to John and Louisa Collins Hoppis. She graduated from the
University of Oklahoma and previously worked as a certified public
accountant. She married Harry E. Blaylock on May 31, 1954 and
moved to Norman, Oklahoma from Bentonville, Arkansas in 1954.
Mrs. Blaylock was preceded in death by her parents and son,
Michael Blaylock in 1999, two sisters, Wanda Morrison and Lou
Burton. Survivors include her son, David Blaylock of the home; two
daughters, Janet Johnson and husband, John of Norman, OK; Donna
Mason and husband, Dennis of Coer D’Alene, ID; three sisters,
Rhoda Jones of Norman, OK; Portia Davis and husband, Rube of
Yukon, OK; Florence Hoppis of Colorado Springs, Co; one brother,
John Hoppis and wife, Roberta of Noble, OK; six grandchildren,
Amber Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Brenna Mason, Brittani Mason,
Brandi Mason, Stephanie Blaylock.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Norman Regional
Hospital Foundation, P. O. Box 1665, Norman,, Oklahoma 73070.
Flowers may be sent to the service at Little Axe Baptist Church but
the family request flowers not be sent to the home.

Anna Y. Brooks
Anna Y. Brooks, 86, of Norman died Tuesday, January 7th, at
Norman Regional Hospital. Visitation will be held at
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, on Thursday, January
9th from 700 to 900 p.m. Services will be held on Monday,
January 13th at Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union, Ohio
with burial at Locust Grove Cemetery. Local arrangements are
under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
Mrs. Brooks was born November 11, 1916, in Seaman, Ohio,
the daughter of William E. Rhoades and Inez (Milligan)
Rhoades. She grew up in southern Ohio where she met her
future husband, Vernon H. Brooks at a baseball game. They
were married March 11th , 1942 in Paris, Kentucky. Following
World War II, they moved to Dayton, Ohio where Vernon
worked for the Frigidaire Corporation and she was a
homemaker. They lived in Dayton and a suburb, Kettering, for
some 40 years. In 1989, a few years after her husband's
death, Anna moved to Norman to reside near her son.
Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
and brother, Harold L. Rhoades. She is survived by her son,
Robert L. Brooks, his wife Pamela, and three grandchildren,
Erin, Colin, and Kelsie.
