Willard Stone

Willard Stone of Seminole died Friday at a local hospital. He was 90.

He was born May 16, 1910, in Prague. He was the son of Anna Stone.

He moved to Seminole in 1940 from Meeker. He married Cora Susan (Black) Stone on June 8, 1940, in Chandler.

Stone, an oil field worker, was a member of the Assembly of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Doris Brannan.

Survivors include his wife, Cora Stone of Seminole.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Maple Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Robertson officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Roy Hogan

Roy Hogan of Tecumseh died Saturday in Tecumseh. He was 93.

Hogan was born Oct. 5, 1906, in Caddo, the son of Samuel Lampkin and Florence Pitts Vance Hogan.

He was reared on a farm on the edge of Caddo, and he attended school in Caddo.

He moved to Tecumseh in 1932. On July 16, 1932, he married Juanita Wisdom in Guthrie.

He drove a bus for the Shawnee-Tecumseh Transportation Company from 1936 until 1959. For one-and-a-half years during World War II, he drove the Street Bus and Transportation in Ponca City.

In 1959, after leaving the bus route, he began running his taxi service and continued until 1980. In 1963, he began his newspaper route, which he continued until November 1984.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Tecumseh.

He was preceded in death by his mother on May 11, 1911; his father on Sept. 10, 1920; two brothers, Payne and John Hogan; and one sister, Dora Roscoe.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Hogan of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Margie and Roauel Trice of Tecumseh; Doris and Frank Scroggins of Shawnee; Zelma Rollins of Houston, Texas; a sister-in-law, Mollie Wisdom of Tecumseh; a niece, Pelma McBee of Shawnee; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today at Tecumseh Cemetery with Bill Roberts officiating. Services are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

The family will gather at the funeral home to greet friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. today.

Opal Bernice Patton Bailey

Opal Bernice Patton Bailey died Sunday in Shawnee. She was 75.

She was born on Sept. 9, 1924, to John H. and Velma Mae (Clark) Patton. She attended Maud schools before moving to California in 1959. She returned to Oklahoma in 1989 and lived in Tecumseh. She married Robert Gray Bailey in June 1941 and worked as a chef for 24 years in Italian restaurants in California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Johndell Murray, and stepfather, Samuel Rushton.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Bailey of Seminole and Kenneth Bailey of Eufaula; four sisters, Bonnie Garner of Stidham, Dorothy Glass of Tecumseh, Patsy Woodall of Shawnee and Velma Huff of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Cummings Cemetery in Maud, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Emma Ellen Jenkins

Emma Ellen Jenkins of Tecumseh died Saturday in Shawnee. She was 84.

She was born Nov. 13, 1915, in Wagoner. She was the daughter of George and Myrtle Baker.

She was reared in Wagoner. She lived in Shawnee eight years and in Earlsboro for eight years. She had been a Tecumseh resident for the past 13 years.

On Jan. 30, 1935, she married Dan M. Jenkins in Tahlequah. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Salateeska Indian Mission.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Survivors include her husband, Dan Jenkins of the home; two daughters, Darlene Rains of Greely Hill, Calif.; Betty Wilson of Shawnee; three sons, Jerry Jenkins of Tecumseh; George Jenkins of Rio Linda, Calif.; Les Monroe of Allen, Nev.; one brother, Enos Baker of Hilmar, Calif.; nine grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, Kacee Nicole Martin.

Services are 11 a.m. today at Cooper Funeral Home with Victor Cope officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Irvin H. Weathers

Irvin H. Weathers of American Fork, Utah, died Sunday. He was 91.

Services are pending with Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Orey Fields

Orey "Les" Fields of Edmond died Saturday in Edmond. He was 57.

He was born April 8, 1943, in Shawnee. He was the son of Orey and Della Fields.

He was married to his wife Andrea for 10 years. He worked for McConnell Construction as an estimator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Pearl Fields.

Survivors include his wife, Andrea Fields, Edmond; daughters, Christy Fields, Shawnee and Gina Moon, Shawnee; and two granddaughters.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Baggerley Chapel with Rev. Wesley Townsend officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of Baggerley Funeral Home of Edmond.

Walker Elwood Magruder

Walker Elwood Magruder of Del City died Saturday. He was 86.

He was born July 1, 1914, in Earlsboro to John D. and Alice (Roush) Magruder. He served in World War II in the Army as an infantryman and was honored with the Silver Star.

He worked in the oil field as a roustabout and gauged pumps for Texaco Oil Co. He was a member of the First Osage Baptist in Fairfax.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wana Lee in 1995; one sister, Lucille Daugherty, and one great-granddaughter.

Survivors include one son, Donald E. Magruder and his wife Louise, Skiatook; two daughters, Betty J. McCalister and husband Bill, Del City, and Nancy J. Lechliter and husband David, Yukon; four grandsons, four granddaughters, four great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, two sisters, Maxine Daugherty, Costa Mesa, Calif., and Opal Whitney, Oklahoma City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Country Estates Baptist Church with burial at 1p.m. in Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee. Services are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Del City.

Vinnie McWaters Fullbright

Vinnie McWaters Fullbright of McKinney, Texas, formerly of Shawnee, died Saturday in McKinney. She was 86.

She was born Dec. 18, 1913, in Springer, Okla., the daughter of Alvis and Mattie Bow.

She was a nurse and had retired from the Oklahoma State Health Department. She was a longtime member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and until the last few years she was active in Holmebuilders Sunday School Class, Christian Women Organization and the Oboe Class.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman McWaters; two daughters, Linda Kay McWaters and Kathern McWaters Smith; two grandsons, David Warden and Danny Headrick; one granddaughter, Cynthia Smith; husband, Gilbert Fullbright; two sisters, Kate McMahon and Minnie Eva Sampson.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Henry and Liz McWaters, Sanford, N.C.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Mattie Welch, Irving, Texas; Ruth Johnson, Bluffton, S.C.; Vernice and Ray Warden, McKinney, Texas; three sisters, Eulah McClure, Tulsa area; Mable Harmon, Ardmore; Juanita Cobble, Burkburnet, Texas; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and friends.

Services will be 3 p.m. today at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Clint Sinclair officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery, under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Hazel Ragsdale

Shawnee resident Hazel Ragsdale died Saturday in a local hospital. She was 81.

She was born June 19, 1919, west of Shawnee to Elijah and Laura (McDaniel) North.

She attended school in Fort Cobb and worked in the lunch room at Oklahoma Baptist University.

She was a member of the East Main Church of Christ and lived in Shawnee most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Elijah and Laura North; her husband, Walter Eugene Ragsdale and a daughter, Deborah Lynn.

Survivors include her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Phyllis Daley, Shawnee; Gayle and Gary Fisher, Shawnee; Brenda and Roy Roebuck, Shawnee; three sons, A.C. Ragsdale, Choctaw; Dean Ragsdale, Tecumseh; Larry Ragsdale, Choctaw; two sisters, Marie Howard, Euless, Texas; Helen North, Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Elmer North of Nashville, Tenn.; friend, John Lewis, Shawnee; two half-sisters, Sharon Neese and Donna Kidwell, Tecumseh; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel in Shawnee, with Doyle Loveland officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
