Courtney Taylor

Courtney Taylor died Wednesday in Oklahoma City. She was 10.

Services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Pentecostal Church of God in Tecumseh. Officiating will be the Rev. Fred Owens, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Park.

Other information is pending.

Barbara Hyde

Barbara Hyde died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was 77.

Services are pending with Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Claude I. Morris

Claude I. Morris died Tuesday at his home. He was 81.

He was born Nov. 18, 1918, in Stroud to William T. and Julia (Denney) Morris. He graduated from Milfay High School in 1936.

He served in the U.S. Army. An electronic engineer, he went to work Jan. 3, 1949, for Lane-Wells Company in Great Bend, Kan.

Through the years his work transferred him to El Dorado Kan., Williston, N.D., Houma, La., Ardmore and Oklahoma City. After 33 years and eight months, he retired Aug. 31, 1982.

On July 15, 1962, at the First Christian Church in Seminole, he married Elsie Schall. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole.

Where he was a member of Tom Rammage Sunday school class and Primetimers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Doris, in 1960; two sisters and one brother.

Survivors include his wife; Elsie Morris of the home; two sons, Ronald E. Morris of El Cerrito, Calif.; and Charles W. Morris of Irvine, Calif.; three grandchildren, Peter Morris, Jeffrey Morris and Katie Richards; one great-grandchild, Charlotte Richards; one sister, Maudie Peterson of Henderson, Texas; one brother, Jess Morris of Henderson, Texas; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Seminole with Dr. Kelvin Moseley officiating. Burial will be at the Stroud Cemetery, Stroud, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Anna Yetter

Earlsboro resident Anna Yetter, 70, died Wednesday at her home.

Mrs. Yetter was born May 8, 1930, in Custer City, Okla., to Charles William Combs and Inez (Widner) Combs. She married Jack Yetter May 14, 1946, in Clinton.

She worked as a clerk at the Oklahoma City post office and was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church. She had lived in Earlsboro since 1981.

Survivors include two sons, Glenn Yetter, Earlsboro; Charles David Yetter, North Little Rock, Ark.; brother, Alan Combs, Potter, Neb.; four grandchildren, Kristey, Jason, Heather and Jeremy; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Yetter, on Jan. 17, 1998; one daughter; and one sister.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Reed Lynn officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Dorothy Honeycutt

Dorothy "Louise" Honeycutt, 74, died Tuesday in a local hospital.

She was born on Jan. 20, 1926, in Rossville, to Wade and Hattie (Smith) Jackson. She married Ray Honeycutt Oct. 12, 1942. She moved to Shawnee in 1948 and had lived here since.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and four sisters.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Ada Faye Jackson of Shawnee; two brothers-in-law, Giddie Honeycutt of Shawnee and Cortlin Horton of Prague; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Fairview Cemetery. Bill Matthews will officiate, assisted by Phil Thompson, under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Adella E. Bell

Adella E. Bell, 80, Okemah, died Saturday at a local hospital.

She was born Aug. 14, 1919, in Rusk. She was the daughter of Monroe and Sallie McCrimmon.

She was married to Jim Bell, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and an in-home health aide.

She was an usher at Goodwill Baptist Church and community usher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bell and parents.

Survivors include daughter, Julia Mason and son-in-law, Dr. Warren Mason of Redondo Beach, Calif.; son, Jimmie Bell of Madill; daughter, Judy Bell of Shawnee; daughter, Janice Marsh and son-in-law, Jimmy Marsh of Oklahoma City; son, Lloyd Bell of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Amos Temple CME Church with the Rev. Clifford Bert officiating. Burial will be at Northfork Cemetery in Clearview.

Services are under the direction of Keller Funeral Home, Boley.

Courtney Taylor

Courtney Taylor of Shawnee died Wednesday in Oklahoma City. She was 10.

She was born May 9, 1990, in Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the daughter of Kenneth Ray Taylor Jr. and Carie Ann Hudak Taylor.

She was a student at South Rock Creek, where she had completed the third grade. She has lived in Shawnee for the past nine years.

She was an avid reader. She loved to draw and was taking still life art from OBU.

She loved her cat and was a Beanie Baby collector.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Gary Hudak.

Survivors include her mother, Carie Taylor of Lake Mills, Wis.; father, Ken Taylor of Earlsboro; sister, Meghan Taylor of Earlsboro; grandparents, Connie and Chuck Houman of Danbury, Wis.; Butch and Phyllis Taylor of Shawnee; great-grandparents, Eleanor Hudak of Hasting, Minn.; Helen Taylor of Shawnee and other relatives including aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Pentecostal Church of God, Tecumseh, with the Rev. Fred Owens officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Memorials may be made to the National Marfan Foundation, 382 Main Street; Port Washington, N.Y. 11050.

Joshua David McAlvain-Adkins

Joshua David McAlvain-Adkins of Shawnee died Tuesday in Shawnee. He was 23.

He was born May 20, 1977, in Martinez, Calif. He was the son of Linny Carl Adkins and Paula Cecile McAlvain.

He was reared in Oklahoma and attended school in Wanette and Tecumseh. He lived in Shawnee.

In September 1995, he married Karen Shatswell in Shawnee. He worked with Bunk's Gas Station and was a framer with Batt Construction.

He was a member of the Choctaw Nation.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Shatswell-Adkins of the home; mother and stepfather, Paula and Tilford Bowlan of Seminole; father, Linny Adkins of Tecumseh; two sisters, DeDea Ilene Adkins-Gonzales of Paden, Idaho; Kristy Lynn McAlvain-Adkins of Seminole; brother, Kevin Lee McAlvain-Adkins of Seminole; grandparents, Norman McAlvain of LaMirada, Calif.; Betty Harris of Oakland, Calif.; Bobbie Techau of Wagoner and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncle, in-laws and friends.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will be at Kennady Cemetery, LeFlore County, committal at 5 p.m., under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Laura Lorene Likens

Former Dale resident Laura Lorene Likens of Steilacoom, Wash., died Tuesday in Steilacoom. She was 89.

She was born Nov. 22, 1910, in Pulaskie County, Tenn. She was the daughter of Daniel and Florence (Smith) Boone.

She married William Roscoe Likens on Nov. 8, 1930. She was a longtime member of the Church of God.

She resided in Dale for more than 50 years before moving to Steilacoom in 1981.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Likens; son, Dan Likens; three brothers, Kenneth Boone, Malcom Boone, Franklin Boone and one sister, Lula Daughtery.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Thelma Likens of Dewey; daughter and son-in-law, Florence and Lewis Newton, Dale; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Likens of the home; eight grandchildren, Stan Likens, Janice Brown, Paul Likens, Gary Newton, Grady Newton, Barbara Hall, Leon Likens and Rachel Likens; two sisters, Rowena McMahan and Virginia Akron; six brothers, Daniel Boone, Elmo Boone, Lynn Boone, Glenn Boone, Donald Boone and McKinley Boone; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Dale Church of Christ with DeWayne Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Dale Cemetery, under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
