Donna Lee (Kluck) Roberson

Donna Lee (Kluck) Roberson died Saturday in Seminole. She was 45.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1954, to William Herman and Edith Olivia (Murray) Kluck.

She was a graduate of Edmond High School and worked as a legal secretary and administrative assistant for Elsner and Cadenhead Law Offices of Seminole. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Seminole and was a preschool Sunday school teacher for more than 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her mother, Libby Kluck of Edmond; three sons, William James (B.J.) Roberson, Dusty Allen Roberson and Joshua David Roberson, all of Seminole; two brothers, Thomas Samuel Kluck of Waldron, Ark., and Richard Murray Kluck of Edmond; and one sister, Mary Ellen Watkins of Morris.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Seminole. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Edmond Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Kelvin Moseley will officiate and the services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Eddrith Ann Bias

Harrah resident Eddrith Ann Bias, 67, died Saturday.

She was born July 11, 1933, to Edward Andrew and Alma R. Walker.

On Dec. 14, 1951, she married Mack Bias Jr. in McLoud. She was a member of the Harrah Assembly of God Church, the Center 4-H Club and the Center Home Economists' Club.

Survivors include her husband, Mack Bias Jr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Kenneth Rose of Luther and Carol and Allen Lovelace of Dibble; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Karen Bias of Harrah; two sisters, Doris Layne and Glenda Miller of Maud; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Harrah Assembly of God Church. Burial will be at Jamison Cemetery under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Home.

Ruth B. Lawyer

Ruth B. Lawyer of Newalla, 90, died Saturday in Oklahoma City.

She was born Sept. 2, 1909, to Luke and Cora T. Meshew.

She married Rufus Clyde Lawyer on April 8, 1933.

Mrs. Lawyer was a homemaker.

In 1998, she moved from Konawa to Newalla to live with her son.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Carolyn Lawyer of Newalla, seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 8 a.m. today at the Vamoosa Cemetery with the Rev. Charlie Henthorn officiating under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home, Konawa.

Harry Latham Taffe

Harry Latham Taffe of Shawnee died Sunday at a local nursing home. He was 90.

He was born Sept. 13, 1909, in Covington, Ky., the son of Harry O. Taffe and Dora (Wiser) Taffe.

He was an aerospace plastic mechanic.

He married Blanche Violet Doolittle on June 15, 1936, in Covington, Ky.

He was in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and served during World War II in Hawaii. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Mr. Taffe was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Masonic Lodge.

He lived in Birmingham, Ala., and Yucca Valley, Calif., prior to his move to Shawnee in 1996.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Earl Taffe and Ray Taffe.

Survivors include wife, Blanche Taffe of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Debbie Taffe of Shawnee; a grandson, Kevin Taffe of Dyes Air Force Base, Abilene, Texas; and a niece, Angela Boling of Kentucky.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Moore officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Vernon Samuel Hergert Jr.

Vernon Samuel Hergert Jr. of Chandler died Sunday in Stillwater. He was 72.

He was born Jan. 20, 1928, in Enid, the son of Vernon Samuel Hergert and Isabel (Collins) Fullerlove.

He worked for Champion Refrigeration and also sold real estate. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

He married Joan Hadley in Enid.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include one son, Bill Walsh, Edmond; two daughters, Lucinda Hull, Holt, Mo.; Pamela Watkins, Sand Springs; one sister, Shirley Ortega, Davenport, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W.G. Baker officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler.

Danny Ray Hopkins

Danny Ray Hopkins died Saturday in Wellston. He was 38.

He was born Aug. 17, 1961, in Muskogee, the son of R. Lloyd and Peggy (Hurst) Hopkins.

He attended school in Medford and graduated from Joel E. Farris High School in Spokane, Wash. He was a graduate of Gonzaga University.

He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Elva Hurst and Robert and Katherine Hopkins; and two uncles, R.J. Hurst and Bily Gene Hurst.

Survivors include his parents, Lloyd and Peggy Hopkins, Chandler; son, Aaron Lloyd Hopkins, Oklahoma City; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Elizabeth Hopkins of Houston, Texas; niece, Samantha Hopkins, Houston, Texas; three uncles, Bobby Hurst and Lynn Hurst, both of Warwick and Don Hurst, Shawnee; two aunts, Marie Cambel, Slidell, La.; Bobbie Rattray, Tulsa.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler. Burial will follow in the Oak Park Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler.

Lala Vadene Newsom Foresee

Shawnee resident Lala Vadene Newsom Foresee died Monday in a local nursing home. She was 83.

Mrs. Foresee was born June 10, 1917, in Tecumseh, the daughter of Theodore M. and Lala May (Akin) Newsom.

She married Thomas L. Foresee on Jan. 6, 1941.

She attended University Baptist Church for more than 50 years; was active in Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and the PTA.

She had lived in Shawnee for most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Foresee; a son, James Larry Foresee; her parents; two brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Joyce Foresee; Tom and Gail Foresee, Shawnee; three granddaughters, Lisa Aynesworth, Oklahoma City; Kristi Foresee and Staci Foresee, both of Shawnee; three grandsons, Larry Foresee, Carrollton, Texas; Jeff Foresee and Rick Foresee, both of Shawnee; brother and sister-in-law, Murrel and Jody Newsom, Tulsa; a niece, Vicki Mellor, Calgary, Alberta, Canada; nephew Philip Newsom, Dallas, Texas; a great-grandson; and several cousins.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, at Fairview Cemetery, with Dr. Bob Searle officiating. Services are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel in Shawnee.

Wanda Lea Davis

Wanda Lea Davis died Tuesday at a Purcell hospital. She was 60.

She was born Jan. 15, 1940, at Tecumseh to Hadley and Jessie Brunson.

Mrs. Davis had lived in the Purcell and Washington area since 1967.

She married Dean Davis on Aug. 6, 1955.

She worked as a production assembler, cosmetologist and waitress, and studied electronics and cosmetology. Mrs. Davis was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ronnie Branson and Billy Don Branson.

Survivors include her husband, Dean Davis, of the home; one brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Saundra Branson, Tecumseh; one brother-in-law, Jay Davis of Norman; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Eldena and Kenneth Wade of Shawnee; Joveta and Robert Owen of Shawnee; and Bobbie St. Clair of Durant; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Solvey of Tecumseh and Jean Branson of Ada; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Tecumseh Cemetery, with the Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Services are under the direction of Wadley's Funeral Service of Purcell.
