Franklin Gray

Franklin Gray of Shawnee died Thursday. He was 82.

Services are pending under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Stella M. Barnard

Stella M. Barnard died Wednesday in Oklahoma City. She was 68.

Mrs. Barnard was born Dec. 10, 1931, in Shady Point, Okla., to Eli L. and Sally Jane (Fout) Mize. She had lived in Prague 40 years and attended the First Assembly of God Church in Prague.

She married James Kenneth Barnard Aug. 2, 1947.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Peggy and Ray Taylor, Shawnee; Phyllis and Bob Becker, Wellston; Vicki Debter, Konawa; son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Carolyn Debter, Bowlegs; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Donna Mize, Tuttle; Leon and Marilyn Mize, Spiro; nine grandchildren and spouses, Tonja and Warren Berry, Seminole; Todd and Shelli Burch, Shawnee; Tiffanie and Allen Rogers, Tecumseh; Toni and Jeff Crabtree, Bowlegs; Mike and Denny Debter, New Lima; Stephanie Fisk, Oklahoma City; Stacie and Curtis Wartchow, Edmond; Lindsey Rumpf and Kaitlin Rumpf, both of Konawa; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jan. 15, 1981; her parents, four sisters and one brother.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God in Prague with the Rev. Kevin Wehrli officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. at Shady Point Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague.

Ollie L. Stokes

Ollie L. Stokes died Wednesday in Tecumseh. He was 81.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel. Robert Ingram will officiate with burial in the Tecumseh Cemetery. Other information is pending with Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Frank Edward Miller

Frank Edward Miller died Wednesday in Chandler. He was 96.

He was born on March 13, 1904, to Frank V. and Susan C. (Matthews) Miller. He lived in the Chandler area all his life and worked in the oil field.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie of the home, two sons and their wives, Gary and Judi Miller of Davenport and Bob and Fleta Miller of Mesa, Ariz., three daughters and their husbands, Imogene and Bill Wade of Pensacola, Fla., Marlene and Wayne Routh of Chandler, Sharon and Franklin Stewart of Wellston, 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler. The Rev. Bruce Newby will officiate under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Chandler.

Beatrice Britton

Longtime Shawnee businesswoman Beatrice "Bea" Britton, Shawnee, died Wednesday in Midwest City.

She owned and operated five restaurants in the Meeker, Shawnee, Tecumseh and Earlsboro areas.

In 1939, she married Leonard Britton. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hank and Ethel Hazen; her husband; brothers Charles Hazen and Joe Hazen; and daughter-in-law Imogene Britton.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth Britton of Shawnee, one granddaughter, Debra Lynne Britton of Texas, one cousin, Louise Lewis of Corpus Christi, Texas, two nieces and their families, JoAnn Johnson of Midwest City and Karen Martin of Oklahoma City, and a host of great-great-nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the White Dove Cemetery in Sparks. The Rev. Leo Allard and Chaplain Al Campbell will officiate. Viewing will be at Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home.

Robbie E. Copeland

Ms. Chandler of 1962 Robbie E. Copeland, Seattle, died Aug. 19 at age 57.

She was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Olustee, Okla., to Wm. Hearst and Lillian Copeland.

She attended first and second grade in Olustee, Okla. She also attended Centralvue in Mangum before graduating in 1961 from Chandler schools. She attended Oklahoma University's Theater Arts program for two years.

She was a stewardess with Continental Airlines in Seattle.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother William Levance.

Survivors include three sisters, Lillian Franklin of Oklahoma City, Thelda Butler of Tecumseh and Clarita Sue Hall of Corpus Christi, Texas, three brothers, Horace Copeland of Plattville, Colo., Eugene Copeland of Eldorado, and Welton Copeland of Shawnee.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Prairie Hill Baptist Church in Duke, Okla. Dale Freeman will officiate.

Leonard Maurice Rogers

Rogers Conoco founder Leonard Maurice Rogers, Shawnee, died Thursday in a local hospital. He was 76.

He was born on Sept. 13, 1923, in Wanette to Addie Kelly Rogers and Emma Alcena (Powers) Rogers.

In 1952, Leonard founded of Rogers Conoco, which became a Shawnee landmark. He was also an agent for Continental Oil Co. Bulk Plant.

He married Eva Bays on March 7, 1947.

Rogers was a decorated World War II veteran, serving in the European Theater from 1942 to 1945. He was past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1317. He was also active in many other organizations.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Larry Keith Rogers; six brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Eva, of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Ann Rogers of Irving, Texas, one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bill Carpenter of Shawnee, two granddaughters, Kari Williams and husband Bobby and Jana Carpenter; two grandsons, Rick Allen Rogers and Christopher and Jennifer Carpenter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church. The Rev. Janie Kirt Morris and the Rev. Percy Jenkins will officiate. Viewing will be until 9 a.m. at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Cinderella Motel following burial at Fairview Cemetery.

Royce Halferty

Royce "Butch" Halferty, 59, Harrah, died Wednesday.

Halferty was born April 10, 1941, in Fresno, Calif., to Bruce and Blossom Halferty. He married Patsy DeWitt on April 11, 1964, in Las Vegas, Nev.

He and his wife traveled with the Grand Ole Opry before making their home in Harrah in 1972.

He worked at Melody Cleaners for 12 years, then became a carpenter and roofer. He also coached softball.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy; his mother, Blossom Halferty; seven children and their spouses, Buddy and Kathy DeWitt, Cheryl and Bob Mullendore, Dana and Marvin Whited, all of Harrah; Sandy DeWitt, McLoud; Suzanne DeWitt, Danny (Boone) and April Halferty, and Steve (Dink) and Toni Halferty; 19 grandchildren, one great-grandson, all of Harrah; brother, Terry, of Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church, Harrah.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Shawnee.

Cheryl Denise Jackson Day

Cheryl Denise Jackson Day died Aug. 24 in Las Vegas, Nev. She was 38.

She was born on Sept. 29, 1961, to Richard and Linda Jackson.

Survivors include her parents, of Shawnee, two children, Cort and Megan Day, sister Teresa Nimmo of Oklahoma City, brother Rick Jackson of Oklahoma City, grandmother Jewel Irene Stephens and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Life Christian Center, 6801 S. Anderson Road at I-240. Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery, 7800 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at the Mercer-Adams Funeral Home.

E.N. Moss

E.N. "Hez" Moss, 91, Prague, died Thursday in Tulsa.

He was born on Feb. 7, 1909, to Lewis Nelson and Martha (MacDonald) Moss in Foss.

A Prague area resident since 1943, Moss was a retired custodial worker and bus driver for the Prague School System.

Moss, a Methodist, married Evelyn Hill on June 10, 1933.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife of Prague, one son and daughter-in-law, Nolan and Barbara Moss of Prague, one daughter and son-in-law, Eva Nell and Doug Burch of Prague, one sister, Edith Melvin of Elk City, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague. Tim Emmons and the Rev. Starland Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in the Prague Cemetery.
