Billie Jean Dunn

Billie Jean "Willie" Dunn of Shawnee died Thursday at her home. She was 70.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hazel Dell Baptist Church with the Rev. Ellis Risenhoover officiating. Burial will be at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. Other arrangements are pending.

Annie H. Boone

Annie H. Boone of McLoud died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 77. Services are pending with Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Shirley Kommer

Shirley Kommer, 63, of McLoud died Wednesday.

She was born April 16, 1937, in Dayton, Texas, to Claude B. Adams and Marie Odile Sonnier. She was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in McLoud.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother, James W. Adams and her sister, Gertrude B. Granger.

Survivors include two brothers, John L. Adams and Claude B. Adams Jr.; four sisters, Lula M. Moore, Marie L. Searle, Emma J. Courvell and Peggy J. Pate; three daughters, Claudia M. Eaton and Nancy J. Glover, Mary G. Baumann; three sons, Raymond W. Kommer, Bruce E. Kommer and Keith A. Kommer; 17 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other family members.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee. Arrangements directed by Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah.

Maxine M. Christian

Maxine M. Christian, a longtime Seminole resident, died Wednesday at a Shawnee hospital. She was 87.

She was born March 31, 1913, in Hazel, near Konawa, to Floyd and Jessie Houston.

She was married May 16, 1933, in Maud to Curtis C. Christian, who preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1989.

Mrs. Christian, a retired school teacher, taught first grade at Carr City, Hilltop, New Lima and Seminole Schools.

She received her master's degree from The University of Oklahoma.

Mrs. Christian was a member of Oklahoma Retired Educators Association; Oklahoma Education Association and National Education Association.

Survivors include her daughter, Merri Shawver of Seminole; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Ann Houston of Konawa; sister, Cecilia Campbell of Alexandria, Va.; three grandchildren, Hailey Charamella of Flower Mound, Texas; John Shawver of Oklahoma City; Tracy Kipnis of Moscow; three great-grandchildren, Christian, Cole and Sydney.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Karges officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Seminole.

Charles William Clinard

Charles William Clinard died Thursday at a nursing home in Rogers, Ark. He was 79.

He was born Sept. 14, 1921, on the family farm near McLoud to Faye Russell and Charles Lester Clinard.

In 1942, during World War II, Clinard enlisted in the military, serving his country as a Navy Seabee in the South Pacific until being honorably discharged in 1945. He ran a registered Holstein dairy farm in McLoud from 1946 to 1963.

Later, he moved his family to Harrah and became an employee of the Oklahoma State School Land Commission. He retired as director of lease and sales in 1987.

Additionally, Clinard took an active role from 1963 to 1995 in the Alcoholics Anonymous Kelly Club of Oklahoma City, where he worked to help other alcoholics reach sobriety.

He was a member of the Church of Christ, first in Harrah and then in Bentonville, Ark., where he moved in 1995.

He was preceded in death by his youngest sister, Carol Virginia Clinard and his oldest son, Donald Charles Clinard.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Juanita L. Campbell Clinard; their three children and spouses, Linda and Jim Ecker, Robert D. "Bob" and Kathy Clinard and J. Mark and Suzanne Clinard, all of Bentonville, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Kaye and Jeff Ecker and Sarah, Russell, Luke, Jennifer and Alyssa Clinard; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine and Cecil Farber of Drummond and Ruth Alice and Robert Carver of Phoenix, Ariz.; four nephews and one niece.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bentonville Church of Christ with Jeff Ecker and Walton Hook officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at Bentonville Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville, Ark.

Juanita Smith

Juanita Smith, Prague, died Wednesday in Prague at the age of 63.

She was born Sept. 30, 1937, in Ochelata, the daughter of Oscar and Eula (Dean) Edwards.

A homemaker, she was married to Bobby Smith March 18, 1971.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gill and Don Edwards and one sister, Georgean Brauer.

Survivors include one son, Robert Oleson, Prague; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Leonard Cunningham, Stroud; Mary and Rex Schad, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; Diona and Jimmy Don Walker, Hooks, Texas; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Prague Cemetery with Tim Emmons officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Dugan Thomas

Dugan Thomas, 66, Wanette, died Tuesday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born Sept. 10, 1934, in Purcell to Earl Clifton and Jewel (Grayham) Thomas.

He was raised and attended school at Purcell and the Boston area of Oklahoma City.

Thomas, an electrician, welder and sheet metal worker, owned and operated Thomas Sheet Metal in Oklahoma City. He sold the business 1974 and moved from Oklahoma City to the Wanette area.

He and Misti Tannehill were married Aug. 1, 1992, in Wanette.

Thomas, a Baptist, was a member of the Trail Riders and the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 124.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Clifton Thomas; his daughter, Elizabeth Jewel Thomas, and one sister, Gracie Thomas.

Survivors include his wife, Misti of the home; his mother, Jewel L. Thomas of Norman; one son, Michael Thomas of Oklahoma City; his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Dennis Seaman of Oklahoma City; four brothers and sisters and their spouses, Calvin and Naomi Thomas of Choctaw, Joyce and Carl Barton of Kentucky; Paul and Joyce Thomas of Moore and Melvin and Betty Thomas of Norman; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Charlene and Joseph Fryman of Bethany; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Devon Fryman of Bethany and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Wadley's Funeral Chapel, Purcell, with Bill Huckaby officiating. Burial will be at Sunnylane Cemetery, Del City.

William James Robison

William James Robison, a resident of Konawa, died Tuesday. He was 81.

He was born April 14, 1919, in Frankston, Texas, to Elizabeth (Clackly) and William James Robison Sr.

He was married to Margie Lee (Boulton) at Lovington, N.M., on May 20, 1954. He was a rancher, who lived the past 45 years in the Konawa area.

Robison was also a veteran of the Air Force, serving during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Robison of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, William James and Clarissa Robison III, Houston, Texas; Ronnie Lee and Tommy Robison, Roff; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Cathy Lee and Joe Sipes, Atoka; Vivian Kay and William Lee, Bonham, Texas; Donna Sue Hargus, Macomb; Linda Ann and Tony Bryant, Asher; one brother, Audrey Robison, Frankston, Texas; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Konawa Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Mitch Williams. Services are under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home of Konawa.

Clarance C. Chapman

Longtime Davenport resident Clarance C. Chapman, 86, died Thursday. Services are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, Chandler.

Maudie Wren (Stalnaker) Howard

Longtime area educator Maudie Wren (Stalnaker) Howard, 95, died Friday in Shawnee.

The Tecumseh resident was born Nov. 17, 1905, to John and Ellen (Todd) Stalnaker in Treemont, Miss. She moved to Maud when she was 6 years old.

Mrs. Howard attended school in Punkin Center, Okla., and graduated from East Central State Teachers College in Ada.

On Oct. 5, 1935, she married Adrian Lee Howard in Holdenville.

Mrs. Howard taught school in Seminole County for 16 years and at Macomb for 24 years. While teaching, she served as a 4-H sponsor, high school choir sponsor and as the junior high girls' basketball coach.

Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; sisters, Mabrie Villines, Freda Walker, Chessie Carroll and Lessie Blaylock, and her brother, Fred Stalnaker.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Patricia L. and Dan J. Pertile of Tecumseh, Freda H. Droppleman of El Reno and Adrianetta Hickman of Oklahoma City; her brother, William Hamilton Stalnaker of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Church of Christ. Bob Anderson will officiate and burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

William Franklin Nuckols

Lifelong Shawnee resident William "Bill" Franklin Nuckols, 70, died Friday in Shawnee.

He was born July 20, 1930, in Shawnee, the son of William Henry and Bonnie Bell (Long) Nuckols. He worked as a storm monitor for REACT and served with the Army Air Force.

Nuckols was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his sons, Charles Nuckols of Shawnee and Kenneth Nuckols of McAlester; daughter, Vickie Harrell of Ada; grandchildren, Daniel, Tamra and Savannah, all of Ada; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Geneva Nuckols of Fort Collins, Colo., and Jack and Lupe Nuckols of Northridge, Calif., and his sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Raymond Lane of Shawnee.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tecumseh Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
