Agnes Lovelace

Former Seminole resident Agnes (Winters) Lovelace died Tuesday at a Sherwood, Ark., hospital. She was 92.

She was born Sept. 21, 1908, in Wetumka to Ed and Clara Bell (Harding) Winters. On April 9, 1944, she married Jordan Elijah Lovelace in Holdenville. He preceded her in death May 31, 1990.

Mrs. Lovelace moved from Lindsay to Seminole in 1969 and worked as a dietary assistant at Pioneer Nursing Home until 1987.

She was a member of Letha Trinity Baptist Church, was a lifetime member of the Friendship No. 224 Rebekah Lodge and had recently received her 50-year pin as a member of the Eastern Star.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Presley Maples, Lonoke, Ark.; four grandchildren, Charlotte West, Berryville, Ark.; Brandy Maples, Lonoke; Shawn Cleveland, Seminole; and Robert Fowler, Hanford, Calif.; and two great-grandchildren, Patrick Austin and Austin Cleveland.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Yeager Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Cline officiating.

Richard J. Oldham

Richard J. "Rick" Oldham, 49, Chandler, died March 28.

Oldham was married to Judy Oldham.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. April 14 at the Church of Christ, Meeker. Bill Eisenhour Funeral Service, Oklahoma City, was in charge of arrangements.

Meske Diné Casteel

Meske Diné Casteel died Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

The infant daughter of Michael Madison Casteel and Wenona "Christie" Fixico was born Tuesday in Shawnee.

Preceding her in death were her great-grandparents, O. George Giles; Roman and Louinie (Simmers) Fixico, and Lillie Spencer.

Survivors include her parents, both of Tecumseh; paternal grandparents, Glenn and Betsy Casteel of Tecumseh; maternal grandparents, the Rev. Hiawatha "Boots" and Dorothy Fixico of Castle, Okla.; paternal great-grandmother, Marie Giles of Shawnee; a sister, Anita Lee Madison Casteel of Haileyville, and numerous other relatives.

Tribal rites will be 7 p.m. Friday at the Casteel home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Resthaven Memorial Park, Trinity Chapel. The Rev. Joe Bender will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.

Raymond E. Harris

Raymond E. "Red" Harris, 74, McLoud, died Wednesday.

He was born March 27, 1927, in Hope, Ark., to Doyle E. Sr. and Clemmie Lawson Harris.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in rodeos. He married Virginia May 4, 1948, in Hope, Ark. They renewed their vows May 4, 1998 after 50 years of marriage.

He and his wife worked together picking cotton. He retired in 1975 from the Los Angeles County Road Department in California.

The couple then moved back to Oklahoma, where he worked for Brooks and McConnel Construction Co. He retired in 1992.

He was a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association for 20 years and a member of the OK Roundup Club for 15 years. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Choctaw.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of the home; his daughter Sherry and Roger Straka of McLoud; two grandchildren, Clint and Chelsea Straka of McLoud; three brothers, Doyle Harris Jr. of Eufaula, Kenneth Harris of Calvin and Coy Harris of Holdenville; one sister Wanda Tollett of Oklahoma City; and many other relatives.

Services will be noon Saturday at Asa Smith Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Gerty Cemetery under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.

Jerald Edward Blaney

Lifetime Stroud resident Jerald Edward Blaney died Thursday in Oklahoma City. He was 60.

He was born Nov. 13, 1940, the son of Willis Earl and Bernice (Satterfield) Blaney.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Stroud. He was retired from Lincoln County and owned and operated a welding shop.

Preceding him in death were his father, Willis Earl Blaney; one son, Brian; one brother, Darell; and one sister, Gene Higgins.

Survivors are his mother, Bernice Blaney of Stroud; one brother, Bill Blaney of Stroud; two sisters, Joyce Christy and Betty Laffoon, both of Stroud; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church in Stroud with the Rev. Don Wilburn officiating. Burial will be in the Stroud Cemetery. Parks Brothers Funeral Services in Stroud is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Lee Eller

Kenneth Lee Eller of Shawnee died Wednesday at his home. He was 49.

Eller was born July 20, 1951, in Borger, Texas, to William Alonzo Jr. and Catherine S. (Morgan) Eller. He had been a resident of Shawnee for the last two years and had lived many years in Lincoln County.

He was a barber and an artist who gave many of his paintings to friends.

His father, William Alonzo Eller Jr. preceded him in death Oct. 13, 1995.

Surviving are his mother, Catherine Eller, Prague; two sons and daughters-law, Justin and Sadie Eller and Bryan and Jennifer Eller, all of Fort Worth Texas; two brothers, Wayne Eller, Dallas, Texas, and William Tracy "Bill" Eller, Lincoln County; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Kenneth Murnan, Nowata; the mother of his children, June Eller, Hawaii; two grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Tim Emmons and Dr. Ben Husted officiating.

Donna Jean Green

Donna Jean Green died Friday at her residence in Meeker. Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker.

Services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Assembly of God Church in Meeker with Leon Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services in Prague.

Jack Forrest Burchette

Services for Jack Forrest Burchette, Meeker, are pending with Park Brother Funeral Services in Prague. Burchett died Saturday.

Duane Penfield Peabody

Duane Penfield Peabody, 76, died Thursday.

The Tecumseh resident was born Jan. 10, 1925, in Patterson, N.J. He was the son of Norman and Josephine (Manella) Peabody.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Randy Lohman of Shawnee; grandchildren, Mike; Brandy; Bryant; Michelle and Joseph; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Peabody of Daytona Beach, Fla., and "Bennie" Peabody of Honolulu, Hawaii, as well as many other relatives.

Private services will be held Monday evening. Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Homes, Oklahoma City.

Sheryl Bailey Hindle

Former Shawnee resident Sheryl Bailey Hindle died March 28 at her home near New Windsor, Md. She was 60.

She was born Dec. 2, 1940, at Macomb to Ira E. and Oleta (French) Bailey. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1959.

She worked at Tinker Air Force Base before moving to Maryland in 1961. She was employed by the American College Health Association from 1988 until her retirement Oct. 31, 2000. She was a member of Taylorsville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony E. and Carol S. Hindle, New Market, Md.; daughter, Dawne A. Hindle, Los Angeles, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law, Reba and Bob Wright, Shawnee; sister, Linda Rayfield, Oklahoma City; brother, Tommy Bailey, Shawnee; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law.

Services were held March 31 at Taylorsville United Methodist Church with the Rev. O.F. Kibbe officiating. Burial was in Taylorsville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Clyde Brantley Worthington

Clyde Brantley Worthington of Lompoc, Calif., died March 31 in a Lompoc hospital. The former Oklahoma resident was 82.

He was born Nov. 24, 1918, in Caddo County, the son of William Brantley Worthington and Nora (Bizzell) Worthington Dilbeck. He graduated from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.

On June 6, 1940, he and Virginia Liles were married in Lordsburg, N.M. They were married for 60 years.

Worthington worked for 38 years in the mortgage banking business.

He helped to write the charter for Midwest City. Worthington was also a 50-year member of the Oklahoma State Bar Association. He served as president of both the Oklahoma City Mortgage Bankers Association and the Oklahoma State Mortgage Bankers Association.

In 1983, he retired and moved to Lakeview, Ark. He lived there until his recent move to Lompoc.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; son, Dr. Brant Worthington of Norman; daughter, Sandra Lemon of Lompoc; grandchildren, Kara Petterson of Lompoc; Kristi Blumstein of San Jose, Calif.; Shara McKesson of Richmond, Va.; Kimberly Worthington of Richmond, and Dr. Kyle Lemon of Santa Barbara, Calif., and nine great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home. The Rev. Rusty Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to University of Oklahoma General Scholarship Fund.
