Paul Record

Tecumseh resident Paul Record died Friday in Shawnee. He was 31.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel, Tecumseh, with Glen Mason officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.

He was born in Oklahoma City on April 20, 1970, the son of David Alton and Katherine Sue (Mason) Record.

He moved to Tecumseh at the age of 10 and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1988.

During school, Record was active in the local 4-H, raising rabbits and poultry. He was a past winner of the State Poultry Award and a member of the Pottawatomie County 4-H Hall of Fame.

Preceding him in death were his great-grandparents.

Survivors include his mother of Tecumseh; brother, Steven Record of Tecumseh; grandparents, George and Elaine Mason of Tecumseh; aunts and uncles, Roger and Cindy Mason of Tecumseh and Glen and Bobbye Mason of Shawnee; and numerous other relatives.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.

Lloyd L. Sanders

Longtime Asher resident Lloyd L. Sanders, 86, died Sunday at a local hospital.

The son of Thomas Garrett Sanders and Laura Bessie (Davis) Sanders was born in Tribbey on Nov. 20, 1914.

He was a member of the Avoca Church of Christ.

On July 6, 1933, he married Ethel E. Chambers in Macomb. She preceded him in death Dec. 5, 2000.

Sanders was president of Sanders Laboratory and was a rancher.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and LaVon Sanders of Tecumseh; daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Clinton Palmer of Maud, Towana and Harold Gober of Bethel Acres and Linda and Marion Milburn of Tecumseh; brother, Jack Sanders of Pearson; sister, Aleta Pettit of Pearson; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Avoca Church of Christ in Asher. Dallas Barnes will officiate. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Knight Funeral Home in Maud.

Andrew J. Martin

Andrew J. Martin died Monday in a Denison, Texas, nursing home at the age of 87.

Services for the Denison resident will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Jim Martin will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Eugene S. Pitts

Eugene S. Pitts, Seminole, died Thursday at a Seminole hospital. He was 73.

The son of Ollem Seldon Pitts and Filena May (Birlew) Pitts was born Aug. 11, 1927, in Seminole.

Pitts completed eight combat parachute jumps while serving in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborn Division, during World War II. He also served in the U.S. Navy.

He earned a Purple Heart.

On Jan. 30, 1963, he and Martha R. Shaw were married in Miami.

He moved from California to Seminole in 1963.

Pitts, a member of the First Baptist Church, Seminole, retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1992.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and one grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Pitts, of the home; four sons, Bill Willson of York, Pa., Bob Willson and Paul Pitts, both of Seminole, and John Pitts of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother, Dudley Pitts of Hennessey; three sisters, Lois Brown of Hennessey, Billie Sterns of Modesta, Calif., and Dorothy Adams of Webbers Falls, Okla.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole. The Rev. Roy Robertson will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Vinita Maxine Hayes

Vinita Maxine Hayes, 73, died Thursday in her Shawnee home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Dr. Larry Adams will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Mary Rosetta (Avo) McCullar

Mary Rosetta (Avo) McCullar died Friday in her Shawnee home at the age of 78.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bob Woodward will officiate. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Lightening Ridge Cemetery, east of Stratford.

Other information is pending.

Ruby E. Kay

Ruby E. Kay, 79, died Thursday in Tulsa.

She was born March 13, 1922, the daughter of Thomas Marion and Mary Kay.

She was reared in Shawnee and attend Oklahoma Baptist University. She also attended Southwest Bible College, earning a degree in biblical studies.

A Christian, she was involved in her church. She was a member of Evangelistic Temple. She also was a member of Tulsa Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a charter member of Sarah Waite U.D.C.

Kay worked for the federal government. She retired as a district manager for the Railroad Retirement Board.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, Stella, and two brothers, Richard and Thomas Jr.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Ginger Jones; sisters, Opal Bullock, Armelda Randell, Mary Ruth Taylor and Lela McKey; grandchildren, Stephanie and Melissa Jones; and brothers, Arthur Kay and Roy Kay.

Services were held Saturday in Tulsa. The Rev. Ron McKey officiated. Burial was at Bethel Cemetery, Shawnee.

Wanda Lou (Nunnelley) Craft

Seminole resident Wanda Lou (Nunnelley) Craft died Saturday at Integris Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She was 67.

The daughter of Clarence Nunnelley and Susie (Webb) Nunnelley was born in Stedman, Okla., Nov. 12, 1933. She had lived in Seminole for the past 36 years, having moved there from Allen, Okla.

In September 1951, she and Roy Thomas Craft were married in Ada.

Craft worked as a cook at Pioneer Nursing Home. She retired in 1979.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church at Letha.

Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, five brothers, two sisters, one daughter and one son.

Survivors include her sons, Bob Craft of Shawnee and Phillip Craft of Newport, Ark.; daughters, Judy Branch and Joyce Payn, both of Seminole; sister, Darla Lea Heighet of Anderson, Calif.; grandchildren, Brian Smith, Kim Robertson, Brad Vakilzadeh, Renee Epperson, Ashley Craft, Ryan Payn, Elizabeth Craft, Jessica Craft and Corrine Knutson; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Juanita Murdock

Tribal rites for Juanita Murdock, 84, were held Sunday at the home of Ernestine Green in McLoud. Burial was held Monday at the Murdock/Frye Cemetery in McLoud.

Murdock died Sunday at her McLoud home.

She was born in McLoud on June 20, 1917.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 56 years, Ernest Murdock; one son; three grandsons; and one granddaughter.

Survivors include her sons, Mitchell Murdock of Los Angeles, Calif., Myron (Mach) Murdock of Oklahoma City and Jubal (Pennock) J. Murdock of McLoud; daughters, Diana White of McLoud and Vickie Logan of the home; sister, Jaquacq of Eagle Pass, Texas; brother, James Nanaikita of Shawnee; grandchildren, Lynna (Lindy) Murdock of Del Castillo, Los Angeles, Cecil White of McLoud, Rhonda (Osage) White Wahpekeche of McLoud, Gary White of Harrah, Jennifer White of Harrah, Allen Logan of Norwalk, Calif., Warren Logan of Shawnee, Myron (Zooner) Murdock Jr. of Los Angeles, Alice Renee Murdock of Parker, Ariz., Ursula Walker of McLoud and Guy Walker of McLoud; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by the Kickapoo Tribe.

Reba Dale (Laster) Kelly

Reba Dale (Laster) Kelly, 78, died Saturday in her Shawnee home.

She was born in Eastland, Texas, on Oct. 3, 1922, the daughter of Henry and Ola Mae (Lyles) Bateman.

She was a graduate of Borger, Texas, High School.

She was a homemaker and worked at Main Fruit Market for 21 years.

Her first husband, H.H. Laster, preceded her in death.

In 1968, she married Raymond A. Kelly in Pampa, Texas.

She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Annie Laster of Tecumseh, Johnny Laster of Shawnee and Jimmy Kelly of Shawnee; daughters and sons-in-law, Louise Franks of Amarillo, Texas, Ruby and Farley Redfield of Tecumseh, Cindy Kelly of Tecumseh and Velena and Scott Strudgeon of Moore; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jeff Moore and the Rev. Glen Pence will officiate. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Shawnee.
