Billie Marie Kethley

Billie Marie Kethley of Shawnee died Wednesday at the age of 79.

She was born Oct. 22, 1922, in Clifton, Texas, to Jack and Callie Mae Allen.

She was preceded in death her parents and one son, James Michael Kethley.

Kethley moved with her parents to several locations in West Texas and attended high school in Crane, Texas.

On Aug. 19, 1939, she married Jerold Kethley in Crane, Texas.

After their marriage, they moved to Big Springs, Texas, and during World War II, she followed her husband to various flight training bases. After her husband went to England, she returned to Abilene, Texas, where she attended Draughn School of Business.

Kethley worked in Fort Worth, Texas, at Continental Aircraft as a rivet inspector. She later joined the U.S. Marine Corps after her husband's plane was shot down over Europe. After a brief stint at Camp LeJune, N.C., she received a medical discharge.

Kethley also worked as a clerk at the Pentagon and for the Social Security Administration. The couple moved to Michigan in 1950 while her husband served a two-year residency. They returned to Dallas, where he served an additional two-year residency.

After Dr. Kethley finished his medical residency in 1954, they moved to Shawnee where Dr. Kethley established his practice. They have lived here since.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the Pottawatomie County Medical Society Auxiliary and was active in Camp Fire and Cub Scout programs.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Jerold D. Kethley of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Marc Migliazzo of Irving, Texas; brother, Bobby Allen of Lubbock, Texas; two sisters, Mary Grimes of Crane, Texas, and Shirley Haley of Tyler, Texas; five grandchildren, Joshua Migliazzo, Jacob Migliazzo, Nicole Migliazzo, Rhiannon Kethley and Jason Kethley Wood; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rockford Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Home.

Marolyn Sue Wynn

Marolyn Sue (Peyton) Wynn of Oklahoma City died Tuesday.

She was born Feb. 17, 1935, in Oklahoma City, the daughter of John Peyton and Ethlyn "Me-Me" (Tesmar) Peyton.

Wynn was a legal secretary for private attorneys, F.D.I.C. and RTC and was also a volunteer for the DAYBREAK program.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, J.T. Peyton and Bob "Peanut" Peyton.

Surviving are her family, Terry Wynn, his wife, Judy and grandson Jason of Edmond; Tony Wynn of Norman; Todd Wynn and grandson Tyler Crisafulli of California; twin sister, Carolyn Bowles and husband, Paul; sister Myrna Hicks and seven nieces and nephews.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Greystone Presbyterian Church, 8300 Greystone Ave. with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N. Kelly.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond.

Robert Clarence Coody

Robert Clarence Coody, 57, Seminole, died Wednesday at a Ada hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy L. Coody of Wewoka, stepson, Randy Cotton of Wewoka; stepdaughters, Jodi Cotton-Jay of Konawa and Stephanie Cotton of Wewoka; brothers, Kenneth Coody of Seminole; Willea Crow Coody of Seminole; sisters Roseanna Jones of Seminole and Jessica Coody of Wewoka; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hitchitee United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Jones and the Rev. Mike Harjo officiating. Burial will follow in Hitchitee Church Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Roy E. Jennings

Former Pottawatomie County resident Roy E. "Nug" Jennings, 66, of Oklahoma City died Wednesday.

Surviving are his wife, Tresha (Rose) Jennings; five children and their spouses, Betty Jo "Jodi" Crawford and husband Bill of Sulphur, Johnny Lee Jennings and wife Dawn of Oklahoma City; Tina Gail "Teents" West of Moore, Michael David Rose and wife Aminda, Edmond, and Elizabeth Marie Puig and husband Dan of Dallas; eight grandchildren; sister, Norman Jo Williamson, and husband, Jimmy, of Oklahoma City; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Baggerley-South Funeral Home Chapel in Oklahoma City. Burial will follow Saturday in Green Hill Cemetery in Davis under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home in Sulphur.

Opal (Brown) Rasure

Opal (Brown) Rasure of Longmont, Colo., died Monday at age 89.

She was born Aug. 31, 1912, in Meeker to J. Ed Brown and Alza (Herron) Brown.

Rasure was a retired seamstress from Blaine's Women's Wear. She worked in downtown Shawnee most her life, starting at the Mammoth Department Store and Tipton's Jewelers and then for 40 years at Blaine's.

She married Willard B. Rasure on Sept. 20, 1929, at Sapulpa, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jim Brown, and sister, Treba Smith.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Markey and Ed Ascherbrenner of Longmont, Colo.; two granddaughters Penny and Ed Jimmie, and Tori Vernon, all of Longmont; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey Jimmie, Kalli Jimmie and Brady Vernon, all of Longmont.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church with Dr. James Sill and Milo F. Steffen II officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park

Arrangements under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Home.

William F. Bly

William F. Bly of Shawnee died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was 63.

He was born July 11, 1938, in Denver, Colo., to Ropher and Rosa Lee Bly.

Bly was reared and attended school in Dale and lived in Shawnee since 1955. He had worked at ONG, Trans Con Freight, Windsor Door and also was a home builder.

He married Connie Schilling on Nov. 4, 1955, in Seminole. They had been married for 47 years.

Bly also was a member of Dale Church of Christ.

Bly was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Molly, and a grandson, Dakota Blakley.

Surviving is wife, Connie Bly of Shawnee; two sons and daughters-in-law, William Franklin Jr. and Angie Bly of Tulsa, and Billy Joe and Tina Bly of Shawnee; four daughters and sons-in-laws, Cindy and Bobby Kingery of Dale, Kim and Darrell Blakley of Shawnee, Kelly and Roger Meritt of Edmond, and Cara Bly of Shawnee; two brothers and sisters-in law, R.A. Jr. and Jimmie Bly of Dale, Bobby and Vicki Bly of Shawnee; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie Reding of Dale and the late Joe Reding, Amy and Jim Stith of Dale; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be graveside 10 a.m. Saturday at Dale Cemetery with Dewayne Thomas of Dale Church of Christ officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Home.

Douglas Charles Hammer

Douglas "Doug" Charles Hammer, 58, of Carlton, Minn., died Wednesday in Superior, Wis.

He was born July 21, 1943, in San Luis Obispo, Calif., and was reared on the West Coast.

Hammer graduated from San Diego State University and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He married Nellie Garcia in Shawnee on May 3, 1992.

He worked for several natural gas utility companies. He was a member of the Nicholson-Sellgren VFW Post 2962 of Carlton, Minn., and of the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle group, serving as councilman for the group.

Hammer was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ronnie Campbell, and a brother, John Burinson.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Mikel Hammer of Fairoakes, Calif.; three stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Jay and Jeanne Meade, Kenneth and Michelle Meade and Dennis and Glenda Meade, all of Shawnee; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Teresa Campbell-Smith and husband Jackie; his father, Joseph Hammer of Aptose, Calif.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita and Darrel Miller of Yuba City, Calif., and Paula and John Frost of Clarksburg, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. A memorial service will be held at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, Minn., with the Rev. Michael Fossen officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the Nicholson-Sellgren VFW Post Honor Guard. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Shawnee, at a later date.

Wanda L. Gray

Wanda L. Gray died Thursday at a Blue Hill, Maine, hospital.

She was born Oct. 9, 1923, in Shawnee to Robert Ervin and Amanda Hooten Parrish.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Marie Torralva, Red Wood City, Calif.; three daughters and sons-in-law, LaVerne "Sue" Crager, Phoenix, Ariz., May and Thomas Grindle, Blue Hill, and Janice and Alan Medeiros, Hawaii; three brothers, Edward R. and Robert D. Parrish, both of Illinois, and Roland Parrish, Shawnee; a sister, Elizabeth Boyd, Shawnee; grandchildren, Parrish, Jonnie and husband Matt, Dawn and husband Tim, Kathy, Michael, Jacqueline and husband John, Alan Jr., Ikaika; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and friends.

She is precede in death by her husband of 35 years, Theodore Gray, in 1999, and a son Hermon G. Torralva Jr.

Friends may visit 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, and funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Healey Funeral Home, Blue Hill. Burial will be in the spring at Mountain View Cemetery, Blue Hill.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gray's memory to the American Cancer Society, Main Division Inc. Federal Street, Brunswick, ME., 04011.

Moneta Elisabeth Macomb Gentry

Moneta Elisabeth "Beth" Macomb Gentry, 54, a resident of Wewoka and a Shawnee native, died Tuesday at her home.

Survivors include her husband, James Gentry; five children, Amy Montgomery Posey and Cheri Montgomery Brown, both of Wewoka, Tonya Hughes Berry of Tecumseh, Jill Hughes of Seminole and Cory Montgomery of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Susan Macomb Taylor of Dana Point, Calif.; two brothers, Jim Macomb of Tecumseh and Charlie Macomb of Corcoran, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at the Fairview Cemetery Pavilion, Shawnee, with the Rev. Dan Factor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Stout Funeral Home.

Clora A. (Argo) Littrell

Clora A. (Argo) Littrell, 81, died Saturday at her home in Paden.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Carlyn and Stan Allen of San Antonio, Texas, Darla Heinzig of Seminole and Dena Ellis of Paden; sisters, Cordia Carter of Wewoka and Fois Argo of Wewoka; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Service Chapel in Prague with Doug Arnold of the Wanette Church of Christ officiating. Services will be followed by cremation.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Wendell C. Hey

Tecumseh resident Wendell C. Hey, 81, died Monday in Shawnee.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Home with the Rev. William Bentley officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Further announcements will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home.

Delano Roosevelt Franklin

Former Shawnee resident Delano Roosevelt Franklin, 68, died Friday at an Oklahoma City Hospital.

He was born April 3, 1933, to George and Minnie Franklin in Pawnee.

Survivors include a daughter, Scharron Franklin, Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah Franklin and Margaret Stevens, Shawnee; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service were 10 a.m. Monday at McKosato Cemetery. Tribal Services were Sunday in the Ellis family home.
