Juanita Mae Evans

Juanita Mae Evans, 84, of Oklahoma City died Friday.

Survivors include one son and his wife, Don and Lorene Evans of Warwick, Okla.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Gene Morton of Chandler and Janna and Jackie Stieber of Warwick; one sister, Louise Maness of Beaver, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; other friends and relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel of Chandler with the Rev. John Aldrich officiating. Burial will follow at the Star Valley Cemetery of Chandler under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Home.

Gerald W. Middleton

Gerald W. Middleton, 59, of Shawnee died Saturday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born Feb. 8, 1943, in Paden, the son of William "Bill" and Rosalee (Herron) Middleton.

Middleton graduated from Paden High School. In 1978, he earned a bachelor of science degree in computer science at Central State University. He also attended the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering.

He was a civil engineer for the Federal Highway Administration. He retired from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in August 1998 after 35 years of employment. He worked for the Smith-Roberts Association from 1998 to 2000. Since November 2000, he had worked for the Federal Highway Administration.

Middleton was an engineer, land surveyor and civil engineer. At the time of his death, he was president of the Oklahoma Land Surveyors Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Terry Middleton, a brother-in-law, Carl Baxter, and his mother-in-law, Mildred McCullar.

Survivors include his wife, LaDonna, of the home; two daughters, Elizabeth Middleton of the home and Paula Middleton of Arlington, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Cyndi Middleton of Houston; a son, Scott Middleton of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dewayne and Geraldine Middleton of Prague and Cecil and Beverly Cockman of Wetumka; a sister, LaVon Baxter of Shawnee; a sister and brother-in-law, Glena and Jerry Prather of Prague; his father-in-law and his father-in-law's wife, Jess and Melba McCullar of Shawnee; a sister-in-law, Tina Peerson of Tecumseh; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Matthews and the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Those wishing may give donations to the American Cancer Society.

Ruth Kaseca

Norman resident Ruth Kaseca, 72, died Saturday.

Tribal rites will be Sunday evening at Little Axe Community Center. Burial will be Monday evening at Kaseca Family Cemetery. Other information is pending with Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Grace Lucille Snodgrass

Grace Lucille (McCullough) Snodgrass, 60, of Maud died Friday.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Linda Snodgrass of Konawa; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Dathan Lane of Maud and Julie and Dean Neilsen of Maud; two brothers, Gene and Curt McCollough of Baldwin, Mo.; four sisters, Dale Collins of Springfield, Mo., Margie Gilley of Glen Dale, Ariz., Ida Moore of Little Rock, Miss., and Norma Cruz of Temple, Texas; one brother-in-law, Shorty Snodgrass of Konawa; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Cooper of Tecumseh and Susie Snodgrass of Seminole; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Avoca Church of Christ of Asher with Terry Newell officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf Cemetery of Seminole under the direction of Knight Funeral Home.

Walter W. Bowen Jr.

Walter W. Bowen Jr., 73, of Eufaula died Saturday at a Muskogee hospital.

He was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Porum, Okla., to Walter W. Bowen Sr. and Mayme (Johnston) Bowen.

Bowen attended school in Shawnee. He worked for the telephone company in Shawnee before being transferred to San Diego, Calif., to work for Pacific Bell. He retired from Pacific Bell and moved to Eufaula in 1980.

He married Lydia Ybarra June 15, 1947, in San Diego, Calif.

Bowen also served in the U.S. Navy for two years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob Bowen; one infant brother; and grandson, Trent Bowen.

Survivors include his wife Lydia Bowen of the home; four sons, Robert Edward Bowen of San Diego, Calif., Richard Earl Bowen of Everett, Wash., Rodger Eugene Bowen of San Diego, Calif., and Russell Elliott Bowen of San Diego, Calif.; sister, Mildred Lois Mooney of Eureka Springs, Ark.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Fixico and the Rev. Nathan Hampton officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park of Shawnee.

Bonnie Adams Poe

Bonnie (Adams) Poe, 57, of Seminole died Friday in her home.

Poe was born Nov. 21, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., to George Ulan Adams and Irene Marie (Ervin) Adams. She married Donald Poe on June 21, 1963, in Cape Girardeau.

She moved to Seminole from Denver, Colo., in 1997 and was co-pastor of the Seminole Foursquare Church with her husband Don.

Poe was a homemaker, a member of the Seminole Foursquare Church and had worked for an information handling service in Denver.

Survivors include her husband Don of the home; a son, Kevin Poe, Carrollton, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Karla and Chris Sibayan, Denver, Colo.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim Adams of Phoenix, Ariz., Bill and Shirley Adams, Jackson, Mo., and David and Terry Adams, Wickenburg, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Joshua, Justin and Jordan Sibayan, Denver, Colo., and Brandon, Tiffany and Rodney Poe, Carrollton, Texas.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Shiflett and the Rev. Bill Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Little Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Bonnie Poe.

Harry F. Koester

Harry Frederick Koester, 86, died Thursday at his home near Chandler.

Survivors include his wife, Verna M. Koester, Chandler; three grandchildren and their spouses, Randy and Rae Lynn, Chandler, Kim and Brent Kautzman, Chandler, and Rex and Dawn Koester, Carney; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Koester, Chandler; sister, Pearl Huset, Clearwater, Fla., six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wellston, with the Rev. Harold Kamman officiating. Burial will follow at Star Valley Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brother Funeral Service.

Irvin W. Burrough

Irvin W. "Wally" Burrough, 81, of Shawnee died Wednesday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born Feb. 25, 1921, in Dallas, Texas, to Thomas and Wanda (Campbell) Burrough.

He attended school in Oklahoma.

He was a salesman for J.C. Penny for 20 years and worked at Tinker Air Force Base for 20 years until his retirement in 1983.

He married Anita Zelda Beller on March 16, 1940, in Shawnee.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; three brothers, Pat Burrough, Roy Burrough; and Arnold (Tony) Burrough; and one grandson.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Tim Taron of Shawnee; one son, Brian Burrough of Noble; nine grandchildren, Tracy, Brian, Brad, Meredith, Ghislaine, Beth, Jared, Daniel and Mark; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Tom Murphy of Citrus Heights, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A prayer service will be 7 p.m. today at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Home.

Ester Wilson Fuller

Ester Wilson Fuller, 78, of Konawa died Monday.

Survivors include her two sons, Frank Wilson of Konawa and Curtis Wilson of Seminole; six daughters, Leona Hudson of Maud, Leta Gibson of Salem, Ore., Jane Cantrell of Ada, Ruth Bohn of Alexandria, Va., Patsy Baxter of Purcell and Margaret Brown of Konawa; 45 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Long of Konawa; five stepchildren, Rita Cathy of Idabel, James E. Fuller of Corinth, Texas, Holly Guthrie of Lawton, Morgan L. Fuller of Houston, Texas, and Avery Lynn Fuller of Johnson City, Texas.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert M. McGowan officiating. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetary under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.

Vernon Lee Handley

Vernon Lee Handley, 73, of Stroud died Sunday in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include his wife, Rachel Handley of the home; five sons, Vernon English of Palm Harbor, Fla., Art English of Chesterfield, N.J., Harold English of Trenton, N.J., Randal Handley of Owasso, and Lyndell handley of Bentonville, Ark.; two daughters, Connie Mathews of Del City, and Rhonda Proctor of Gladstone, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Shirley Sims-Park of Tulsa; two brothers, Earl Handley of Enid and Jerry Handley of Bethany; one sister, Ruth Wanger of Fort Supply, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Stroud with the Rev. Burl Mackey officiating. Interment will follow in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Stroud. Full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Color Guard from Fort Sill, Okla., and Masonic graveside services performed by the Stroud Masonic Lodge.

Stella Davis Dalton

Stella Davis Dalton, 95, Tulsa, died Sunday in a Tulsa nursing home.

She was born Sept. 5, 1906, in Romulus to A.J. and Annabelle Davis.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Dalton, a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Susan Dalton, Tulsa; two daughters and sons-in-law, Don and Tina Vaughan, Houston, Texas, Arnold and June Baxter, Oklahoma City.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Glen Pence officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Jana Marie McCright

Jana Marie McCright, 51, died Monday.

She was born Dec. 18, 1950, to Elwin "Andy" and Eva Anderson.

Survivors include her husband, Rodney McCright; children, Jacob and Eva McCright, Mark "Tony" Caldwell, Michelle Kitchel, Christy McGill, Andrew Gilespie; mother and step-father, Eva and Irvin Buescher; and grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at the Harrah United Methodist Church. Asa Smith Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.

Vesta Cranor

Vesta Laural Bryant Watson Cranor, 93, died Monday at Hearthstone Assisted Living Center in Coppell, Texas.

Survivors include four grandchildren; her stepsons, Bud Cranor and Jim Cranor, along with their children; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the historic Strothers Chapel in Maple Grove Cemetery of Seminole. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to the Riverside Church of Christ Building Fund, 150 East Beltline Road, Coppell, Texas 75019.

Will Grisham

Will Grisham, 81, of Washington, Mo., died Monday.

He was born Aug. 16, 1920, in Ardmore to Dessie and W. D. Grisham.

He lived in Shawnee for many years.

He worked for Cains Coffee Company until 1956 when he moved to St. Louis, Mo. He became president of Manhatten Coffee Company until his retirement.

He married Rheta Nowlin in 1942.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rheta Nowlin on Dec. 23, 1998; his parents, Dessie and W.D. Grisham; brothers, Harold Grisham and Gerald Grisham; and sister, Ela Simpson.

Survivors include his three sons, Dan Grisham of Chesterfield, Mo., Dr. Tom Grisham of Washington, Mo., and Gregg Grisham of Hilton-Head, S.C.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Jimmie Jane Roemer of Shawnee, Jeanne Morgan of Oklahoma City, and Joyce and Bob Hickman of Denver, Colo.; and one brother, Hershel Grisham of Oklahoma City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Kirk King of the Hills Presbyterian Church, 12928 LaDue Road, St. Louis, Mo. 63141. Graveside service will be in Chesterfield, Mo.

Ronald Ross Inlow

Ronald Ross Inlow, 42, of Bristow died Friday.

Survivors include his wife Jaelyn Inlow of the home; daughter, Amanda L. Inlow of the home; parents Billy and Betty Inlow of Drumright; mother and father-in-law Jessie and Cliffored Wright of Stroud; brother Johnny Ray Inlow of Lansing, Mich.; sister Kathy J. Inlow of Cushing; three brothers-in-laws Eddie Wright of Stroud, Randy Wright of Stroud and Kevin Wright of Hayes, Kan.; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Stroud with the Rev. Burl Mackey officiating. Burial will follow at the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Stroud.
