Lisa Annette (Masters) Clark

Lisa Annette (Masters) Clark, 32, Tecumseh died Wednesday.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday. Further information will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home.

Lindell M. Koontz

Lindell M. Koontz of Shawnee died Wednesday at his home.

Koontz was born at Six Mile Township in Logan County, Ark. to Glenn U. Koontz and Josephine (McMillan) Koontz.

He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from The University of Oklahoma in 1950. Koontz was a CPA and oil producer, working as a CPA for 50 years. He served on the President's Advisory Board at Oklahoma Baptist University. He also taught business law at OBU.

He married Paula Bivins on July 25, 1975, in Shawnee. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Shawnee Lions Club for 45 years, where he served as a past president.

Koontz was a member of University Baptist Church of Shawnee, and had lived in the Shawnee area since 1953.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Surviving are his wife, Paula Koontz of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Mark Stapp of Oklahoma City; Celinda and Keith Olszewski of Bethany; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Koontz of Guthrie; Craig and Susan Koontz of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Bobbie Novak of Oklahoma City, Christine Folger of Ada; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Pence officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Arthur Gene Shaw

Former Shawnee resident Arthur Gene Shaw, 66, of Mustang died Monday at his home after a lengthy illness.

Shaw was born Dec. 7, 1933, in Wingate, Texas, to Arthur Cecil and Mary Shaw. He was reared in Shawnee.

On Oct. 14, 1961, he married Billie Jean Bohannon in Shawnee.

Shaw served two tours of duty in the U.S. Army. He was a paratrooper during the Korean conflict.

Shaw was a design engineer in the aeronautics industry for more than 30 years and had worked for several large corporations.

He was preceded in death by his son, William Bryan Shaw, in 1982; his parents; four brothers, Jimmy, Foy, Billy and L.B. Shaw; and one sister, Mildred Lane.

Survivors include his wife, Billie, of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Tami Brown of Oklahoma City, Kyndel and Ed McDonald of Jones and Jennifer and Keith Thomas of Vian; seven grandchildren, Justin Griffin and Crystal and Brock McDonald, all of Jones, Meghan and Alec Brown, both of Oklahoma City, and Michael and Logan Thomas, both of Vian; numerous nieces and nephews and family members.

Gravesides services were 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mustang Cemetery.

Marcelina R. Trompeter

Marcelina R. Trompeter of Wellston died Wednesday. She was 78.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Wellston with Alan Small officiating.

Arval Alvin Putnam

Arval Alvin Putnam died Friday in his Shawnee home at the age of 91.

The son of Alfred and Mary Juliette Putnam, he was born June 4, 1909, in Mangum, Okla.

He graduated from Texhoma High School in 1931, and in 1934, joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a member of the CCC until his move to Shawnee. After the moved, he enrolled at Oklahoma Baptist University in 1938.

On Feb. 2, 1942, he joined the U.S. Army at Fort Sill and was assigned to the Army Signal Corps.

After being honorably discharged as a staff sergeant on Nov. 26, 1944, he returned to OBU. He graduated magna cum laude in 1945. While at college, he was a member of the first Bison Glee Club.

On Oct. 5, 1943, he and Anna Elizabeth Hall were married in Poteau.

Putnam was a member of University Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir for 50 years.

He was also a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.

Putnam began working at the post office in May 1946 and retired July 1, 1974, after 28 years of service. He delivered flowers for Mary Jane's Flowers from 1980 to 1986.

Preceding him in death were his wife, parents and three brothers.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ida and Larry Gray of Lexington, Ky, Nancy and Mike Miller of Keller, Texas, Sarah Putnam and Tom Desch of Mocksville, N.C., and Ruth and Casey Young of Aspen, Colo.; grandchildren and their spouses, Allen and Christina Wallace, James and Rebecca Wallace and Patrick Wallace, all of Lexington, Ky., Rudi Miller and Josiah Miller, both of Keller, Texas, and Traci Young of Aspen, Colo.

He is also survived by two great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ida Hall of Dallas, Texas, Myrtle Putnam Dale of Marion, Ill., and Pearl Putnam of Canyon, Texas; and five nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at University Baptist Church. The Rev. Glen Pence and Dr. Bob Searl will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Nina Lynn Thompson-Sullivan

Newalla resident Nina Lynn Thompson-Sullivan, 49, died March 23.

She was born Oct. 7, 1951, the daughter of Jack W. and Virginia Thompson in St. Charles, Mo.

Survivors include her son Tim LaBarge of the home; daughters, Amber Tetrault and Clymon Tetrault, both of the home; mother, Virginia Thompson of St. Charles, Mo.; brothers, Dennis Thompson and William Thompson; grandmother, Nina Flinton of Michigan; grandsons, Brent, Sean and Dennis, all of Oklahoma; and many other relatives.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hilltop Baptist Church, 11710 Stella Road, Norman. Arrangements are under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Home, Harrah.

Sarah McKey

Luther resident Sarah McKey died Saturday in Oklahoma City.

Arrangements are pending under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler.

Dillon Ray O'Quin

Dillon Ray O'Quin, 8-month-old son of Earl Ray and Kimberly (Barnes) O'Quin, died Saturday in an Oklahoma City hospital.

Services are pending under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

James C. Tipton

James C. Tipton, 75, died Saturday in Shawnee.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Coker officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Phillip Spencer

Phillip Spencer died Friday in Shawnee at the age of 51.

Tribal wake services will be 7 p.m. Monday at the Murphy family home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel. Houston Tiger and the Rev. Joe Bender will officiate. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Roland Tiger

Roland "Jimmy" Tiger, 69, died Friday at Pioneer Nursing Home.

He was born to Edmond and Lucy (McGirt) Tiger on Nov. 8, 1931, in Seminole. He graduated from Haskell Institute in Kansas and retired from Warren Gas and Petroleum Co., Bray, Okla. He moved from Bray to Seminole a year ago.

Tiger served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

On July 5, 1966, he married Donna Rose Tiger at Cheyarha Presbyterian Church, Seminole.

He was a member of the Presbyterian faith and the Masonic Lodge.

Preceding him in death were his wife, parents and sister, Eva Towery.

Survivors include his stepdaughter, Sharon Tee Hall; brothers, Marland Tiger of Seminole, Donald E. Tiger of Seminole, Pembroke Tiger of National City, Calif., and Randall Jay Tiger of Shawnee; sisters, Gloria Jean Davis of Electra, Texas, Opal Cloud of Arkansas City, Kan., Nema C. Alderman of Wilburton, Okla., and Wanda C. Barber of Seminole; and three grandchildren.

Viewing will be at Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole, until 10 a.m. Tuesday. Wake services will be 6 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cheyarha Presbyterian Church in Seminole. The Rev. Dorsey Nero, assisted by Kelly Tiger and Leroy Davis, will officiate. Burial will be in the Tiger Family Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Louese Walters

Louese Walters of Chandler died Saturday in Oklahoma City at the age of 89.

Arrangements will be announced by Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Chandler.

Jessie Young

Longtime Tecumseh resident Jessie Young, Shawnee, died Thursday in Shawnee. She was 94.

She was born May 8, 1907, in DeCalb County, Tenn., the daughter of Charley and Amy (Cope) Young.

On Aug. 23, 1925, she married George Young in Smithville, Tenn. He preceded her in death Dec. 19, 1979.

She moved from Smithville to Oklahoma in 1925. She and her husband farmed southwest of Tecumseh until they moved into Tecumseh in 1938.

Mrs. Young, a homemaker, had lived in Shawnee for the past six years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.

Survivors include three sons, Hebron Young of Tecumseh, L.D. Young of Salisbury, Ind., and G.C. Young of Oklahoma City; one sister, Alice Edmonds of Sparta, Tenn.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel, Tecumseh, with the Rev. Robert Rider officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Jerry E. Brock

Jerry E. Brock, 68, Shawnee, died Friday in Midwest City.

He was born July 11, 1932, in Sulphur, the son of Claud Carrol and Mary (Huskey) Brock.

He moved to Macomb as a child and graduated from Macomb High School. On July 19, 1953, he married Norma Hudson at Romulus Baptist Church.

Brock worked for Greyhound Bus Lines for 25 years, beginning as a driver. He was district manager of Texas for 10 years before retiring in 1987.

He then worked for the OTC Motor Vehicle Department law enforcement division, retiring in 1999. Brock served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a master Mason in the Shawnee Composite Lodge No. 107 A.F. and A.M. He was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Brock of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Angela Brock of Enid and Jeff and Amanda Brock of Norman; two granddaughters, Rebekah Ann Brock and Kara Leigh Brock, both of Enid; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jim Brock of Shawnee, Bob and Kathy Brock of Marietta and Randy and LaDonna Brock of Macomb; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Frank Sisney, Molly and Ronal Henderson and Judy and Bud Patton, all of Macomb; an uncle and aunt, Charles and Vera Brock of Oklahoma City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Tecumseh, with Dr. Milburn Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Dora Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
