SHIRLEY J. CARDER
Shirley J. Carder, 72, of Norman died Wednesday, April 21, during surgery in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 26, 2004 at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman, where she was a member for many years. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Shirley was born August 30, 1931 in Oklahoma City to Pauline
Worthan and Earl J. Partrick. She attended Sequoyah Grade School
and Classen High School in Oklahoma City. She graduated from
High School in 1949 and started college at Oklahoma City University.
Shirley pledged Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, and later served as a
member of the sorority's University of Oklahoma Board of Directors.
On April 6, 1951, Shirley married Robert L. Carder at the University
Place Christian Church in Oklahoma City. They moved to Norman
where she joined him as a member of McFarlin Memorial United
Methodist Church. After completing O.U. and a tour of duty in
Germany, with Shirley at his side, they settled in Norman, where he
was employed by Rockwell International, and where they raised their
two children, David and Paula.

"Mom." She will be missed terribly.
