Marie Schmidlkofer

Funeral services for Marie Schmidlkofer, 83, Tecumseh, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donna Stacey officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Schmidlkofer died Friday at a local hospital.

She was born July 6, 1917, in Konawa to Sam and Elsie Arnold.

She was a Shawnee High School graduate.

Schmidlkofer worked for the U.S. government and retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1972.

She joined the S.P.A.R.S. during WWII.

She and Bernard Schmidlkofer were married in November 1946 in Prague.

She moved from Midwest City to Shawnee 10 years ago.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Sam Arnold Jr., and a sister, Josephine Still.

Survivors include her husband Bernard Schmidlkofer of the home; three sisters, Dorothy Knox, Midwest City, and Margie Medley and Maxine Payne, both of Shawnee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy F. Wilson

Funeral services for Billy F. Wilson, 74, Shawnee, are pending with Gaskill-Owens Funeral Home.

Wilson died Friday at his residence.

He was born Oct. 2, 1926, in Shawnee to Frank and Bertha Price Wilson.

He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1944 and attended the University of Oklahoma.

He was in the U.S. Army and was a Japanese translator during World War II.

Survivors include one brother Riley Wilson, Tulsa, and two sisters, Frankie Westbrook, Austin, Texas, and Claudia Arnett, Mecosta, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parent.

Louie Roalston

Konawa resident Louie Roalston died Friday at the age of 80.

Services are pending under the direction of Pickard Funeral home, Konawa.

Vivian Marie Smith

Vivian Marie Smith, 85, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.

The Shawnee resident was born in Dallas, Texas, on Feb. 27, 1916.

She was a homemaker and for a short time, was employed as a licensed practical nurse.

Preceding her in death were three children, George Nolen Smith Jr., Wade Smith and Beverly Nolene Smith.

Survivors include her husband George N. Smith of Shawnee; granddaughters, Martha Cast and Cara Cast, both of San Diego, Calif., and Annie Lombardi, formerly of Tecumseh and now of Brazil, and her great-grandson, Santiago Lombardi of Brazil.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Percy Jerkins will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Edward S. Ersland

Edward S. Ersland, 82, died Thursday at a local hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Evangelistic Center Church. Further information pending with Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

J.C. Bonard Jr.

J.C. "Jay" Bonard Jr. , 48, of Midwest City died Thursday in an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born Feb. 7, 1954, in Shawnee, the son of J.C. "Jake" and Geraldine (Sikes) Bonard.

Bonard graduated form Shawnee High School. He owned Jay's Painting Company and served in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1977.

He was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship and lived in Shawnee most of his life.

He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Goss of Checotah; his wife, Sharon Bonard of Oklahoma City; his daughter. Aimee Dumas of Edmond; a son, Jayson Bonard of Oklahoma City; a sister and brother-in-law, Terry Ann and Mark Moses of Port Orchard, Wash.; three grandchildren, Austin, Kalen and Brycen, all of Edmond; and a niece, Sherry Bonard of Midwest City.

A service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Matthews and the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Stella May (Brown) Jenkins

Stella May (Brown) Jenkins of Seminole died Tuesday at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was 80.

She was born Jan. 9, 1920, in Shreveport, La., to G.T. Brown and Polly (Toby) Brown.

She moved to the Seminole area in 1945 from Many, La. She married Kelley Thomas Jenkins on April 29, 1946, in Gainsville, Texas.

He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1995. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Seminole. She was a member of the Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sons, Kelley Thomas Jenkins Jr. in 1955 and Tim Jenkins in 1984.

Survivors include daughter, Polly A. Hailey of Seminole; daughter-in-law, Karen Jenkins of Maud; two grandchildren, Marsha Haney of Seminole and Jason Jenkins of Maud; one great-grandchild, Janea Hailey of Seminole.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Little Cemetery with Father Basil Keenan, O.S.B. officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Richard Leon Ogle

Richard "Rick" Leon Ogle died Sunday. He was 45.

He was born Oct. 6, 1954, in Oklahoma City to Linda Vargas (Ogle) Hook and Leon H. Ogle. He was raised in Choctaw and graduated from Choctaw High School in 1972.

He received his bachelor's degree from East Central University in Ada in 1977 and his master's degree from Central State University in 1990, graduating "Suma Cum Laude." He began his teaching and coaching career at Holdenville High School.

After teaching and coaching in Holdenville for five years, he taught and coached in Tom Bean, Texas, for two years then came to McLoud in 1985. He taught and coached in McLoud until he retired in 1997 due to the progression of an illness.

He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of McLoud.

Survivors include his wife, Linda, of the home; three children, James Richard Ogle of Atwood; Kristy Lynn Ogle and Shawn Bradley Ogle, both of McLoud; grandson, Zeek Riley; father and stepmother, Leon H. and Margie Ogle of Choctaw; mother and stepfather, Linda Vargas and Charles Hook of Muskogee; sister, Karla Ogle Rupert; stepsister, Ruth Whitely; stepbrothers, Harold and Richard Wallace and Scott Hook and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Services were Tuesday at First Baptist Church of McLoud with burial following at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City. Memorials may be made to the Rick Ogle Memorial Fund at BancFirst, McLoud.

Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Stephen Lynn Smith

Stephen Lynn Smith, 51, died Wednesday at his home in Stroud.

He was born May 31, 1949, in Miami. He was the son of Marion and Olive Mae (Hoover) James.

He had been a resident of Stroud since 1995 moving from Bristow. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Stroud. Smith retired from Halliburton in Bristow.

He was in the U.S. Army, where he served in the Vietnam War. He married Marcia Anne Melson Reid June 10, 1982, in Stroud.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia of the home; two sons, Stephen Smith II of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Kevin Smith of Stroud; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Denise and Randy Armstrong of Stroud; Lori and Larry Hall of Stroud; Renae Smith of Stroud; four grandchildren, Destiny Smith of Tulsa; Hunter and Dalton Armstrong of Stroud; Garrett Hall of Stroud.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Stroud with the Rev. Sandy Chace officiating. Burial will be in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Stroud.

Memorials may be made to the Caring Hand Hospice Stroud and American Cancer Society.

Henry Guinn

Henry Guinn of Eufaula died Wednesday in Shawnee. He was 85.

He was born Oct. 26, 1914, in Ada. He was the son of Henry Guinn Sr. and Mae (Clark) Guinn.

He was reared in Ada and was a former Pottawatomie County resident. He worked as a switchman and brakeman for Rock Island Railroad.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dale and Pat Guinn of Shawnee; Jim Guinn of Shawnee; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Charles Minyard of Gilroy, Calif.; Berna and Bob Humphrey of Shawnee; 11 grandchildren and numerous other family members.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Neal Cemetery with the Rev. William H. Bentley, Broadway United Methodist Church of Tecumseh officiating. Services are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Minnie Adams

Minnie Adams died Wednesday in Cypress, Calif. She was 85.

Services are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.

Glenna Pearl Meade

Shawnee resident Glenna Pearl Meade died Monday in a local hospital at the age of 83.

She was born Oct. 31, 1917, in Canute to Charlie and Probey Powell. She attended school in Clinton and married William Everett Meade.

Mrs. Meade, a member of the Free Will Baptist Church, was a waitress.

She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters, two brothers, a stepson and daughter-in-law and a great-granddaughter.

Survivors include a stepson and his wife, Irl and Nadeen Meade of Wewoka, seven grandchildren and their spouses, Teresa Campbell Smith and Jackie Smith of Shawnee; Alisa and Dean Krakel of Conifer, Colo.; Frank and Debbie Meade of Perry; Ralph and Janie Meade of Deer Creek; Jay I. and Jeanne Meade of Shawnee; Dennis and Glenda Meade of Shawnee, and Kenny Meade and Michell Peard of Tecumseh; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, and three nieces.

A graveside service was held Wednesday at Neal Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Ashworth officiated. Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
