Lisa Noel Garrison

Lisa Noel Garrison of McLoud, died Saturday, Aug. 3, at the age of 33.

She was born Dec. 12, 1968, in Newhall, Calif., to Ann and Nolen Garrison. The family moved to McLoud in 1979 and she graduated from McLoud High School in 1987.

She was preceded in death by her son Levi Nolen Boone; her father, Nolen Garrison, and three infant brothers, Caleb, Joel and Michael.

She is survived by two daughters, Heather Boone and Heidi Boone; her fiance, Russell Smith; her mother, Ann Garrison; seven brothers, Jim, Patrick, Dave, Shawn, Aaron, Joey and Gregg; three sisters, Kathleen Clark, Mary Kreps and Holly Cain, and many other relatives.

Mass of Christian burial will be 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in McLoud with the Rev. Eugene Marshall officiating, assisted by the Rev. Augusta Horne. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Buddy Jameel Hassen

Lifelong Shawnee resident Buddy Jameel Hassen, 68, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, in Oklahoma City.

He was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Shawnee to Mike and Wahidee (Mahmoud) Hassen.

He was a 1954 graduate of Shawnee High School and a graduate of Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.

Hassen worked as a machinist at Tinker Air Force Base and Eaton Corporation.

He served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne.

On Dec. 28, 1958, he married Ruth Ann Hackett in Shawnee.

He was a member of Faith Christian Outreach, Shawnee BPO Elks and the Shawnee Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ferris and Yecute Hassen, and an uncle, Happy Hassen.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Hassen, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Khristi and Jeff Norris of Tulsa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Kelly Hassen of McLoud and David Kippert and Laurie Hassen of Skiatook; parents, Mike and Wahidee Hassen of Shawnee; two sisters, Zahea Nappa of Austin, Texas, and Gay Donna Ott of Shawnee; brother, Fareed Hassen of Shawnee; five grandchildren, Sommer and Josh Lang, Amber Hassen, Matthew and David Oliver and Erin Matlock; two great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and family.

Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Travis Hurst officiating. Burial will be at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

There will be a celebration of life for Hassen 7 p.m. today at Faith Christian Outreach in Shawnee.

Memorials may be made to Faith Christian Outreach Building Fund or the Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund.

Anne Blair

Shawnee resident Anne Blair, 40, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, from injuries suffered in a car accident in Amarillo, Texas the same day.

She was born Oct. 23, 1967, in Alberta, Canada to Kay and Robert Scholl. She moved to Amarillo at an early age and graduated from Amarillo High School.

Anne earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Oklahoma. While attending the University of Oklahoma, she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

She married Dr. Greg Blair on June 29, 1991, and they had three daughters.

Anne was a licensed real estate agent with Prudential Carolyn Harris Realty in Shawnee and was pursuing her GRI. She had served as food coordinator for the Kid Space project when it was built, she was a Brownie Troop leader for six years, she played competitive tennis and she loved horses. Recently, she competed in her first marathon in Dallas, Texas.

She was able to be an organ donor.

Her mother Kay Scholl preceded her in death.

Survivors include her three daughters, Catherine Blair, Alex Blair and Erin Blair, all of the home; her father and stepmother, Robert and Joanna Scholl, Amarillo; her sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Marcus Fry, Austin, Texas; one nephew and one niece.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee. Officiating will be Kris Steele, associate pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church and Dr. Todd Fisher, senior pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Elma Bell Lambert

Meeker resident Elma Bell Lambert, formerly of Shawnee, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at the age of 98.

She was born May 18, 1909, in Clarksville, Ark., to W.T. and Dora Bell (Self) Qualls. She was reared in Wister. Elma came to Shawnee with her family and had lived in Shawnee since the 1930's until recently moving to Meeker.

On Oct. 15, 1927, she married Louie Lambert in McLoud. He preceded her in death in 1978.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Wayne Lambert; sister, Thelma Neal; and brothers, Otis, Orbie, Homer and William L. Qualls.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Wanda Lambert of Tulsa; grandchildren and spouses, Bruce and Denise Lambert of Round Rock, Texas, Paula and Dale Flowers of Meeker, Keith and Robin Lambert of Seminole, and Brian Lambert and finance, Gail Masters, of Owasso; brother, Willard Qualls of Shawnee; many great and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Resthaven Memorial Park with Darrell Witten officiating.

Shirley (Plemons) Holcomb

McLoud resident Shirley (Plemons) Holcomb, 73, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, in McLoud.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Dale Cemetery with Donnie Bond officiating, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Mildred Diaz

Bowlegs resident Mildred Gofosky Diaz, 81, formerly of Willet, N.Y., died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at a Seminole Hospital,

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Graveside service will be held in New York. Mildred will be laid to rest next to her husband in Willet, New York.

Service is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Patricia Rodgers

Tecumseh resident Patricia Rodgers, 79, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, in Oklahoma City.

She loved fishing, bowling, swimming, traveling, playing card's with friends and family and especially her husbands' racing with MAR-CAR. She loved teaching the kids to bowl at Firelake Bowling Alley.

She had a great love for all of her family and will be greatly missed by all of us. Her memory will be in our hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin B. Rodgers.

Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Rodgers and grandson, Cheyenne Longacre of Oklahoma City.

Her body was donated to medical science for research purposes.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated noon Wednesday at St. Benedict Church, 632 N. Kickapoo, Shawnee, with the Rev. Maurus P. Jaeb officiating. Private Burial will take place at later time at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Benedict Church Youth Fund, 632 N. Kickapoo, Shawnee, Okla. 74801 or American Heart Association.

Quentin F. Coker

Oklahoma City resident Quentin F. Coker, 84, formerly of Shawnee died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, in Oklahoma City.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Blackburn Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Arthur Eugene Crumm

Meeker resident Arthur Eugene Crumm died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, in Shawnee at the age of 68.

Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Meeker Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Charles Pearcy officiating. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Jerry "Keith" Shaw

Shawnee resident Jerry "Keith" Shaw, 65, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at the VA Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Services are pending and will be announced by Resthaven Funeral Home.

Jack Gates

Sulphur resident Jack Gates died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008 in Norman at the age of 86.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at First Baptist Church in Sulphur with the Rev. Bill Leveridge officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur, under the direction of De'Arman's Clagg Funeral Home of Sulphur.

Joyce May (Cole) Brumley

Longtime Cushing resident Joyce May (Cole) Brumley passed away Monday evening, Jan. 14, 2008, in Ardmore at the age of 68.

She was born on Sept. 26, 1939, in Asher, Pottawatomie County, to the late Roy Edward Cole and Agnes Levada Baker of Tecumseh.

She was united in marriage to Clifford Ray Brumley on Aug. 2, 1958. The couple moved from Asher to Cushing in August 1958 and lived there for more than 40 years. Ray preceded her in death on May 27, 1999.

Joyce was a mother first and foremost, raising her two sons, but was later employed by Cushing Public Schools from 1972 thru 1994. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Cushing, where she was a youth Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School volunteer, and Widows Support group co-founder and member. She recently transferred her membership to the First Baptist Church of Ardmore. She loved to be with family, whether of the home, church, school, or community. She was a caregiver to many and was abundantly blessed with a full life.

Survivors include her two sons, Victor Ray and wife Leann (Stroud) Brumley of Ardmore, and Chad Alan and wife Marianne (Judy) Brumley of Keller, Texas; two special grandchildren, Leah Rae and Brayden Kyle Brumley, both of Ardmore; her mother, Agnes Baker of Tecumseh; one sister, Naoma (Cole) Wotipka of Tecumseh; two brothers, John Edward Cole of Konawa and Elmer Louis Cole of Tecumseh; two sisters-in-law LaVerne (Brumley) Kirby of Oklahoma City and Imogene (Brumley) Cleveland of Glenpool; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, her father; her stepfather, Ray Baker; one sister-in-law, Meveline (Brumley) Carroll; four brothers-in-law, James Carroll, Everett Wotipka, Fred Loman and Leon Brumley.

Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with the Reverend George Brock, III, officiating. Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Ray Brumley Scholarship Fund, benefiting graduating Cushing High School students.

The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Floyd Family Center, east of the funeral home.

Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.

Charles Hamm

Shawnee resident Charles Hamm, 72, died Monday, Jan.14, 2008, at his residence.

He was born March 20, 1935, in Castle, Okla., to Grady Hamm and Ida (Johnson) Hamm.

In 1951 he married Gertrude (Holt) in Las Vegas, Nev.

He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base as grounds supervisor. He enjoyed playing pool, reading, watching football, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bobby, Frank, and Elmer; and three sisters, Pauline, Palmer, Geneva Spear, and Loreen Shipman.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Hamm of the home; four children, Debra Meade and husband, Raymond, of Shawnee, Pamela Millier and husband, Pete, of Columbia, Mo., Charles Hamm Jr. and wife, Dawna, of Shawnee, and Gale Gilbert and husband, Rick, of Tulsa; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Hamm of Las Vegas; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. Darrell Whitten officiating. Burial will be at Castle Cemetery.
