Joe R. Kyle Sr.

Joe R. Kyle Sr., 94, of Macomb died Monday in Tecumseh.

He was born May 22, 1908, in Livingston, Tenn., the son of Mack and Lona (Upton) Kyle.

Kyle also had lived in Arkansas. He and his wife, Ethylene (Coats) Kyle, whom he married in 1929 in Ozark, Ark., moved to Macomb in 1929. They had lived in Macomb since then.

He served as Macomb postmaster from 1929 until 1969. He also worked as an agent for the Santa Fe Depot. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of the Macomb Masonic Lodge No. 310 A.F. & A.M.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethylene Kyle, on March 13, 1980; his daughter and son-in-law, Joline and Bill Miracle; his parents; a sister, Velma Langford; and a brother, Leslie Kyle.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and David McGuire and Sharon and Marion Domingo; a son, Joe R. Kyle Jr.; a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Lou Ann Kyle; 11 grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah Miracle and David Smith; Kyle Miracle, Kirk and Trish McGuire, Carole Hook, David Kyle, Chris and Ellen Kyle, Mary and Ron McKinney, Carrie Bruce, J.T. Kyle, Sean Kyle and Kevin Kyle; a brother and sister-in-law, Chester and Adela Kyle; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 4 p.m. today at Prairie View Cemetery with Ronald Kyle officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Benson B. Qualls

Benson B. Qualls, 85, of Shawnee died Monday at his home.

He was born Oct. 18, 1916, in Wister, Okla., the son of M.J. and Era (Donathan) Qualls.

Qualls was married to Genevieve Browning.

He worked as a surveyor in California. He was a member of the California Conservation Corps and had lived in Shawnee since 1976.

Qualls was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Qualls, in 1997; a son, Jim Birchett; and two brothers, Guy Qualls and Buck Qualls.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Lee Dougherty of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter and son-in-law, Doris Marie and Pearly Parsons of Carson City, Nev.; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest Wayne and Cilla Qualls of Pleasanton, Calif., and Robert Gale and Bliss Birchett of Freemont, Calif.; a brother, Earl Qualls of Wildwood, Ga.; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

A service will be 10 a.m. today in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry States officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Arrangements are being handled by Resthaven Funeral Home.

Anthony J. Negahnquet

Anthony J. Negahnquet, 85, Shawnee, died Thursday.

He was born Dec. 14, 1916 in Pearson to Joseph A. Negahnquet and Minnie R. Couch.

Negahnquet was born and reared in Pearson and lived in California most of his life. He had lived in Shawnee the past four years.

He worked as a truck driver. In the World War II, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Catholic church, attending St. Gregory's and Sacred Heart in Konawa. He also was a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, a VFW post member in California and a retired member of the Teamster's Union.

Surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and friends including Madeline Smith of Long Beach, Calif., and Thelma Beeson of Indiana.

Rosary will be 7 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa with the Rev. Matthew J. Brown, O.S.B., and the Rev. Justin Jones, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Pottawatomie County.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

R.D. Russell

R.D. Russell, 84, Konawa, died Wednesday at a Ada hospital.

Surviving are sons, Frank Russell of Konawa and Ron Russell, California; daughter Dixie Flora of Midland, Mich.; sister Lucille Hodges, Oklahoma City, Doake Russell, Texas, and Jesse Russell of Konawa; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Community Church in Vamoosa with the Rev. Drew Isaacs officiating. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.

Benjamin Jorski

Harrah resident Benjamin Jorski, 77, died Thursday.

Survivors include his wife, Glena Jorski of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Harold Robben; four grandchildren, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Harriette Jorski, Thomas and Adeline Jorski and James and Pat Jorski; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:40 p.m. Wake services will follow at 7 p.m. A mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday. All services will be held at St. Teresa's Catholic Church with burial at St. Teresa's Catholic Cemetery of Harrah under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.

Ruby F. Rolen

Ruby F. Rolen, 76, died April 5 in an Oklahoma City Hospital.

Survivors include two children, Larry O¹Conor of Chandler and Ronda Bauer of Shawnee; three stepchildren, Ronel Rolen Jr., Edmond, Cheryl Weatherly, Moore, and Elaine Howard, Shawnee; four sisters, Ruth White, Wewoka, Mary Trimm, McAlester, Mamie Shores, Shawnee, and Lois Geneva, Tyler, Texas; one brother, Charles Jones, McAlester; and 13 grandchildren.

Services were 10 a.m. April 8 at the Church of Christ, Wewoka, with Johnny Hinton officiating. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout Funeral Home.

Nancy V. Blakely

Nancy V. Blakely, 66, of Oklahoma City died Thursday.

She was born Sept. 5, 1935, to Earl and Geraldine (Ables) Parker in Seminole.

She grew up and attended school in Seminole, Drumright and Oilton. She later attended college at Murray State College in Tishomingo.

She was a senior interviewer for Oklahoma State Employment Service. She retired from there on Aug. 1, 1998, after 24 years of service.

She was married to James Jeremiah Bailey.

She lived in Oklahoma City for about 20 years.

She served as president of the Solo Singles Club in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Patricia Clifton; and her husband, James Bailey in 1982.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Dwight Lowder of Shawnee; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Bailey of Oklahoma City, Joe and Sherri Bailey of Shawnee and Jay and Vanessa Bailey of McLoud; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louella Bolt of Midwest City.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel of Shawnee with the Rev. Reed Lynn officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

The family has designated Hospice of Oklahoma City as appropriate for memorial contributions.

Edgar Gail Gregg

Seminole resident Edgar Gail Gregg, 77, died Friday in Seminole.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Glenda Barton of Seminole and four grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Cemetery with Shirley Friend officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Lucian Smith Chambers

Shawnee resident Lucian Smith Chambers, 95, died Friday in Shawnee.

He was born Oct. 4, 1906, in Scrub Grass, Ky., to Sam Chambers and Lottie Virginia (Lamb) Chambers.

Chambers was licensed to work in the ministry Oct. 10, 1926, by North Rolling Fork near Gravel Switch, Ky. He received his Oklahoma license Oct. 12, 1931. He served as a Southern Baptist preacher in Kentucky, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona.

During World War II, he served as an aircraft inspector in Wichita, Kan. He supervised several construction jobs for Parker Construction Company in Shawnee after the World War II. Chambers moved to New Mexico in 1960 where he ran several mail routes for about 30 years. He returned to Shawnee in January 1999.

Chambers was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Amelia French, Leora Roller and Jan Marten; two daughters, Mildred K. Chambers and Virginia L. Chambers; and two wives, Ruby Crain and Geneva Powers.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Vic Rushing and Dorothy and Gene Norton, all of Shawnee, and Carolyn Chambers of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, J.D. and Katherine Chambers of Danville, Ky., and Martin Chambers of Frankfort, Ky; a sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice and Alford Williams of Pasadena, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Wynnewood Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Wells of the First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home.

Virginia Kathleen Henderson

Virginia Kathleen Henderson, 60, of Chandler died Sunday at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.

She was born Aug. 3, 1941, to Ervin and Kathryn Hembree.

Henderson was preceded in death by her father Ervin Hembree.

Survivors include her mother, Kathryn Hembree; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Melisa Henderson of Bridge City, Texas, and Craig and Rhonda Henderson of Little Thetford, England; one daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Sean Gilpin of Shawnee; and grandson, Aaron Gilpin of Shawnee.

A private services will be held.

Marie M. Hardin Reese

Marie M. Hardin Reese, 81, of Seminole died Saturday at a Seminole hospital.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Hardin of Texas and B.C. Hardin of Wewoka; three daughters, Givonna Carter of Meeker, Sally Elkins of Seminole and Linda Malone of Seminole; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating at Little Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Joseph A. Nobert

Joseph Allen "Hippy" Nobert, 20, of Earlsboro died Saturday in Lincoln County.

Services are pending with Resthaven Funeral Home.

Corinne Todd

Corrine Todd, 94, of Tipton, Okla., died Saturday at Southwestern Medical Center in Lawton.

Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Marcia and Dwayne Dennis of Shawnee, and Earline and Kenneth Gregory of Cache; three sisters, Cathleen Reilly of Alameda, Calif., Betty McKenney of Houston, Texas, and Carol Mullins of Mayfield, Ky.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ in Tipton, Okla., with Wilburn Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick.

James Ronald Kilpatrick

James Ronald "Ronnie" Kilpatrick, 58, of Sasakwa died Saturday at an Ada hospital.

He is survived by his mother, Helen Kilpatrick of Sasakwa; his wife, Phyllis Kilpatrick of the home; a daughter, Kelly Leann Kilpatrick of Ada; a son and daughter-in-law, James Martin and Shelley Kilpatrick of Ada; three grandchildren, Russell Cale Kilpatrick, Kori Lynn Island and Shawn Rae Island, all of Ada; and a brother, Gary Wayne Kilpatrick of Canadian.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Lone Dove Cemetery in Sasakwa with the Rev. Carl Wills officiating. Services are under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.

L. B. DeCarlis

L. B. DeCarlis, 83, of Asher died Monday at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

He is survived by a brother, Andrew DeCarlis of the home; a niece, Donna Prather and husband Jim of Moore; and a great-nephew, Joshua Prather and his companion, Raven Martinez.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wanette Cemetery with the Rev. Donna Prather officiating. Services are under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.
