Margaret Ree Renfro Cole

Margaret Ree Renfro Cole, 79, Maud died Tuesday at her home.

She was born Feb. 12, 1921, in Maud. She was the daughter of Thomas J. Eddy and Avo E. (Longley) Eddy.

She was a lifelong Maud resident. She married Ikey Renfro on May 4, 1941, in Seminole.

Mrs. Cole was a homemaker and worked many years as site manager of Maud Senior Citizens Nutrition Center. She was a member of the Maud Church of Christ and also affiliated with the Foster Grandparent Program at Maud Elementary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ikey Renfro, on Nov. 7, 1978.

Survivors include son Robert Renfro of Ardmore; daughters, Pam Underwood of Moore; Penny Dobbins of St. Louis; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Eddy of Franklin, Lou.; sisters, Wilma Smith of Spavinaw; Oklahoma; Vera D. O'Dell of Norman.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cummings Cemetery with E.B. Smith officiating. Burial will be at Cummings Cemetery, under the direction of Knight Funeral Home.

Barbara Sue Wilbanks

Barbara Sue Wilbanks died Monday in Chandler. She was 52.

She was born July 3, 1947, in Seymore, Texas. She was the daughter of James B. and Alma Mae (Echols) Thomas.

She was a longtime resident of Chandler. She married Michael Alan Huckabey, who preceded her in death in 1968.

She married Guy C. Wilbanks Nov. 1, 1997, in Fort Smith, Ark. She was a waitress in local restaurants.

Her parents, first husband, one son and two daughters have preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Guy C. Wilbanks of the home; two sons, Michael Alan Huckabey of Chandler; Guy D. Wilbanks of Davenport; two daughters, Angel Miller of Chandler; Susan Fox of Sparks; two brothers, Sonny Thomas of Azle, Texas; Harvey Thomas of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Annette Patterson of Azle, Texas; 11 grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, Chandler, with the Rev. Donna Morton officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler.

Gary Lee Austin

Gary Lee Austin died Saturday in Oklahoma City. He was 52.

Austin was born June 21, 1947, in Chandler to Oren Nelson Austin Jr. and Rosa Naoma (Dollison) Langwell. He married Mary Miller on March 24, 1966, in Chandler.

He was a longtime Chandler resident and worked for the Bud Blakley Lumber Co. for more than 18 years. He was a member of the Oklahoma National Guard for many years and was a member of the Midway Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Austin, Chandler; son, Gary O. Austin, Fairview; daughter, Paula Tabor, Chandler; five brothers, Bill Austin, Littlefield, Texas; Ben Helm, Cushing; Bob Helm and Wendell Helm, both of Chandler; David Helm, Ponca City; four sisters, Marie Boggs, Sparks; Carol Meier, Pam Pratt and Brenda Rich, all of Chandler; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather and two brothers.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Chandler with Pastor Ervin Hilliard officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler.

Clyde Truman Taber
Clyde Truman Taber, 94, Chandler, died Friday.

Services are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.

Tracy Lynn Eakins
Meeker resident Tracy Lynn (Hall) Eakins, 38, died Saturday in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include her parents, Lester and Louise Hall of Meeker; sons, Richie Eakins and Dylan Eakins, both of Meeker; brothers, Johnny Hall of Casper, Wyo., and Phillip Hall of Meeker; sisters, Donna Hyams of Sparks and Judy Comstock of Del City; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Morning Star Baptist Church, west of Meeker, with the Rev. Glenn White and the Rev. Mike Craig officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery of Meeker. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.

Viewing will be held 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Chapel of Meeker.

Arlice McKiddy
Tecumseh resident Arlice McKiddy, 78, died Saturday in Shawnee.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Other information is pending and will be released by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Cassandra Lynne Rhodd
Former Shawnee resident Cassandra Lynne "Harjo" Rhodd, 43, died Friday in Arlington, Texas.

Survivors include her parents, Eugene Harjo of Henryetta and Elouis Factor of Shawnee; a daughter, Savanna Miller of Arlington; three sons, Rodney Harjo, Dewayne Rhodd and Jason Rhodd, all of Arlington; three grandchildren, Kobie Rhodd, Ania Rhodd and Darrian Harjo; four brothers, Victor Harjo, Carlos Harjo and Darrell Harjo, all of Shawnee, and Benny John Harjo of Arlington; two sisters, Augustine Harjo of Arlington and Shannon Harjo of Henryetta; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bird Creek Baptist Church of Sasakwa with the Rev. Bill Hobia and the Rev. Kenneth Cooper officiating.

A wake service was held 6 p.m. Saturday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel. She will be moved to the church at 4 p.m. today and a wake will be held at 7 p.m.

Lovie Ellison
Lovie Ellison, 93, Prague, died Saturday in Prague.

Services are pending and will be announced by Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.

Cleo Mock
Asher resident Cleo Mock, 81, died Friday in Shawnee.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Asher with the Rev. Dwayne Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Vista Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Other information is pending.

J. Roscoe Brown
Wellston native J. Roscoe Brown, 81, died Friday in Borger, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Deane Brown of Wichita, Kan.; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Brad Barnes of Hart, Texas; two sisters, Hazel Clarkson of Broken Arrow and Ruby Anderson of Borger, Texas; five grandchildren, Lauren and Sarah Brown of Wichita, Kan., and Timmy, Trevor and Trent Barnes, all of Hart, Texas.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fairlanes Baptist Church of Borger with the Rev. Chad Chaddick officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, Texas, under the direction of Brown Funeral Directors.

Roma F. Henderson

Shawnee resident Roma F. Henderson died Saturday at her home. She was 81.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery, Lincoln, Neb. Local arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Henderson was born Nov. 5, 1917, in Edina, Mo., to John and Addie Alexander. She was married for 40 years to Louie Henderson.

She attended Douglas High School in Hannibal, Mo., and was a homemaker and insurance agent.

Survivors include her two brothers, John H. Alexander, Shawnee; George Alexander, Riverside, Calif.; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louie Henderson; sister, Clara Vaughn; and brother, Roscoe Ambers.

Ella Cheatham

Former Seminole resident Ella Cheatham died Sunday in Springdale, Ark. She was 91.

Mrs. Cheatham was born Aug. 27, 1907, in Marshall, Ark., to Isaac Fuller. She owned and operated Cheatham Trucking Company and was involved in the oilfield and house-moving business in Seminole. She had lived in Springdale, Ark., for the past eight years and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two sons, Burl Cheatham, Choctaw and Bill Cheatham, Springdale, Ark.; two brothers, Eugene Fuller and Jr. Fuller, both of Okemah; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, with the Rev. Carl Clay officiating.

Juanita Carroll

Longtime Shawnee resident Juanita Carroll died Monday at her home. She was 76.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Bible Temple Church with the Rev. Guy Cagle officiating. Private burial services will be held under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Carroll was born July 27, 1922, in Pharaoh, Okla., to John Henry and Pearl (Sims) Banta. She was a homemaker and member of Bible Temple Church.

Survivors include three children, John Marshall Parrish, Downieville, Calif., Jimmy L. Parrish, Danville, Ill., and Gail Smith, Cedar City, Utah; two brothers, Bobby Ray Banta, Odessa, Texas, and Marlin Banta, Purcell; three sisters, Hazel Cossey, Shawnee, Imogene Young, Washington, and Cleo Knoles, Baggs, Wyo.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John William Banta and Coy D. Banta.

T. Leonard Degman

Shawnee resident T. Leonard Degman died Sunday at a local nursing home. He was 76.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with Shawn O'Ryan officiating.

Degman was born July 1, 1922, in Soper, Okla., to Foye T. and Maude (Scarborough) Degman. He married Bobbie Ruffin on Sept. 20, 1941, in Boswell, Okla. They remarried on April 27, 1974, in Bonham, Texas.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II veteran. He was a retired truck driver and worked for many years in copper mines in Arizona. He had lived in Shawnee since 1985.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Degman of the home; six sons and daughters-in-law, James and Marilyn Degman, Moore, Tommy Joe and Barbara Degman, Shawnee, Kenneth and Barbara Degman, Phoenix, Ariz., Thomas Ray and Pat Degman, Las Cruces, N.M., Scott and Carol Degman, Tucson, Ariz., and William Edward and Jennifer Snow, Choctaw; daughters and sons-in-law, Trisha and Don Hayes, Shawnee, and Joy and Garl Kelly, Sholow, Ariz.; daughters, Rita Loudon, Shawnee, and Donna Degman, Sholow, Ariz.; brother, Gary "Butch" Roberts; sister, Melba Moore, Andrews, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Lanell and Bo Daniels, Dangerfield, Texas; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Viola Gwendolyn McPherson Ward

Viola Gwendolyn McPherson Ward died Sunday in Shawnee. She was 92.

Mrs. Ward was born Jan. 3, 1907, in Coalgate to Duck and Ernie (Gooden) McPherson. She married Elston N. Ward in 1922 at Mudsand, Okla.

She had lived in the Meeker area since 1927 and was a member of the First Christian Church. She was a member and past matron of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 430 of Meeker. She also was past president of the Berian Sunday school class.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Adrian O. and Leota S. Ward, Meeker, and Darrell N. and Eva A. Ward, Norman; three grandchildren, Alvin E. Ward, Meeker, Angella D. Marsh, Shawnee, and Gregory S. Ward, Norman; great-granddaughter, Andrea L. Marsh, Shawnee; great-great-grandson, Skylar Jace Kaminski, Shawnee; two sisters, Helen Inez McPherson, Midwest City, and Loisteen Upton, Visalia, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Ruby McPherson, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Gladys McPherson, Baytown, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and two sisters.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at First Christian Church of Meeker with the Rev. Don Campo officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery, Meeker, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler. Viewing will be at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Meeker.

Alton John Huth

Alton John Huth died Saturday in Norman. He was 75.

Huth was born May 13, 1923, in Great Falls, Mont., to John Walter and Esther Viola Huth. He married Sarah Pounds Howser on Jan. 31, 1979, in Reno, Nev.

He had lived in California for several years before he moved to Chandler in 1988. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II through the Vietnam War. He retired after 24 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Huth, of the home; son, John Huth, San Jose, Calif.; stepson, Daryl Howser, Seminole; daughter, Janice Byer, Clifton, Va.; three grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Oak Park Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler, with the Rev. Doyle Seeley officiating.
