Rachel JoAn Baca

Rachel JoAn Baca, daughter of Rex and Carolyn (Long) Baca, Prague, was stillborn Monday at a local hospital.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather and grandmother, Joe Don Long and JoAn Long.

Surviving are her parents, Rex and Carolyn Baca; a brother, Chase Baca, of the home; grandparents, Ramon and Carmen Baca, Faywood, N.M.; and several aunts and uncles.

Graveside services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Memorial Park with Dr. Paul Calmes officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Kenneth Jerome Annis

Kenneth Jerome Annis died Monday in Oklahoma City. He was 51.

He was born Feb. 29, 1948, in Salina, Kan.

He was the son of the late John D. Annis and Ann (Giefer) Chambers of Del City, was a resident of Prague, and a member of the Calvary Way Baptist Church in Prague.

He married Jarvis Davis on Feb. 27, 1971, served the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a test cell operator in the CDS Shop.

He was preceded in death by his father; one daughter, Nathilee Moriene Annis on Jan. 17, 1971, and one son, Jared Annis on Jan. 17, 1998.

Survivors include his wife, Jarvis Annis of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Daryl and Martha Annis, Prague; his mother and stepfather, Ann and Stan Chambers, Del City; one daughter-in-law and husband, Darlene and Jim Copeland, Okemah; one brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne and Dee Chambers, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam and Buck Crisp, Texas, and Cindy and Barry Otto, California; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Davis, Prague; two brothers-in-law, Starland Davis and wife, Nancy, Prague, and Tommy Davis, Yukon; one sister-in-law and husband, Charlotte and Tom Schmidt, Kansas; and four grandchildren, Levi Annis, Okemah; Kelsee Brook, Prague, Misty Cagle, Prague, and Jamie Copeland, Okemah; 10 nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews.

Service are 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Prague with the Rev. Starland Davis, Rev. Larry Albertson, and Robin Watts officiating. Burial will follow in the Prague Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brother Funeral Home in Prague.

Cressie Ester Nolan

Cressie Ester Nolan, Prague died Tuesday. She was 90.

She was born April 3, 1908, in Wagoner, Okla., the daughter of William and Eliza (Tucker) Chisholm.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Prague. She married Joseph C. Nolan on Jan. 2, 1930. He preceded in her death on Sept. 10, 1971. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two sisters, Carolyn Winchester, Prague, and Opal Gormly, Okfuskee County; one niece and six nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Prague Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.

Jessie May Lawrence

Jessie May Lawrence died Tuesday in Harrah.

She was born May 5, 1919, in Ardmore to Edith Howard Lawrence and John Franklin Lawrence.

In 1941, she graduated from nursing school and joined the Women's Army Corp as a nurse. She served in Europe during World War II until her discharge in 1946 as first lieutenant.

She returned to Ardmore, where she worked as a registered nurse at an Ardmore hospital. In 1968, she moved to Jay to work at Jay Memorial Hospital.

In 1993 she moved to Harrah, to the Summit Ridge Retirement Community.

She was a member of the Seven Day Adventist Church in Ardmore, Jay, and Harrah.

She lived all her life, except for her years in World War II, with her eldest sister, Grace, until her sister's death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Grace E. Lawrence and Louise Lawrence Rowley; her brother John Lawrence, and her niece Jane Rowley Johnston.

Surviving are a brother-in-law, Russell G. Rowley; a sister-in-law, Clara Lawrence; a niece, Linda Kay Fowler, Winston-Salem, N.C.; nephews, James Lawrence, Washington, D.C.; David Rowley, Denton, Texas; Dr. Lawrence Rowley, Carrollton, Ga.; Russell G. Rowley Jr., Palatine, Ill.; 14 grandnieces and grandnephews, and numerous great-grandnieces and nephews.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Summit Ridge Retirement Center Seventh Day Adventist Church in Harrah.

Arrangements are under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.

Willis Carpenter

Prague resident Willis Carpenter died Sunday in Prague. He was 71.

Carpenter was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Welty, Okla., to Sam William and Lillie (Lacquement) Carpenter. He married Myrtle Nolan on Dec. 24, 1947.

Carpenter worked in the oil field as a driller and tool pusher and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 11 in Prague.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Carpenter of the home; daughter, Donna Jean Kubicek, Shawnee; daughters and sons-in-law, Diana E. "Bodie" and Steve Quary, Prague, Juanita "Nita" and Bob Gregory, Maud, and Jenny and Roger Collins, Prague; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Ollie Carpenter, Prague; three brothers, Robert Carpenter, Prague, Calvin Carpenter, Cromwell, and John Carpenter, Shawnee; sister, Juanita Ellison, Prague; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren who will be born soon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and one son-in-law, Rick Kubicek, and a sister, Gladys Blackwell.

Graveside services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Prague Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague, with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating.

M.Z. Thompson

M.Z. "Rink" Thompson of Tecumseh died Friday. He was 71.

He was born Oct. 25, 1928, in Avoca. He was the son of Leslie Lloyd and Laura Mamie (Nail) Thompson.

He attended school in Wanette. He was reared in Asher, Wanette and the Saint Louis area and moved to Tecumseh six months ago.

On July 20, 1981, he married Pam Long in Asher. He worked in the oil field most of his life, working as a drilling contractor.

He is a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. Thompson was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Don Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Thompson of the home; three daughters, Nancy Hughes, Asher; Charlotte Ingram, Tecumseh; Darla Huff, St. Louis; one son, Jack Thompson, Asher; two stepchildren, Melissa Schulze, Oklahoma City; Steven Schulze, Asher; two sisters, Joyce Lowder, Oklahoma City; Monta Bradshaw, Dallas, Texas; brother, Olen Thompson, Macomb; former wife, Jackie Thompson, St. Louis; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Kent Merrill officiating. Burial will be at Wanette Cemetery.

Lloyd H. Kinnamon

Lloyd H. Kinnamon of Shawnee died Friday at a local nursing home. He was 86.

He was born June 29, 1913, in Watts. He was the son of Doc and Esther (Welch) Kinnamon.

He was a retired oil field worker. He married Mary Dell Briggs Nov. 25, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo.

Kinnamon was a Baptist. He moved to Shawnee in 1942, where he lived until 1952, when he moved to Wyoming. There he owned and operated a dinner club in Eden, Wyo., until 1981, when he returned back to Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, one son, Billy Ray Kinnamon; daughter, Wyneama Lee Gann; two brothers and three sisters.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Ed Long and Jim Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park, under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Lloyd Earnest Ellis

Lloyd Earnest Ellis died Friday at a Shawnee hospital. He was 75.

He was born July 15, 1924, at Hobart to the late Jacob Henry and Lillie Ester McBride Ellis. He was reared in Hobart and Tishomingo, where he married Helen Virginia Dale on Sept. 4, 1946.

They made their home in Wyoming and California before moving to Tishomingo. They later lived in Enos, Lebanon and McAlester, before returning to Enos in 1962.

His wife preceded him in death on April 18, 1997. He lived in Shawnee for the past year.

He was a retired pastor and was a caretaker at Camp Hudgens near McAlester. He was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church in Shawnee and served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jack and Howard Ellis and a sister, Mary Jo Parker.

Survivors include sons, Ronald and Carol Ellis of Rocky Point; Delbert and Marsha Ellis of Haileyville; daughters, Doris and Wayne Easley of Enos; Sandra Pool of McAlester; Brenda and Jim Sims of Shawnee; Amie and John Gordon of Shawnee; Ester Reeves of Phoenix, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren, two great-granddaughters; brothers, George Ellis of Lovel, Wyo.; Henry Ellis of Anaheim, Calif.; Tommy Ellis of Tishomingo; sister, Isabel Alford of Hobart.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Tishomingo with Gary Nickerson and Kenneth McCarthick officiating. Music will be arranged by Linda Crosthwait and Carolyn Daugherty.

Burial will be in the Tishomingo Cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill.

Mary Cossey Anderson

Mary Cossey Anderson of Tecumseh died Friday. She was 99.

She was born June 28, 1900, in Tribbey to John Thomas and Laura Bell (Atkinson) Frazier. She attended Tribbey school, where she played basketball. She was reared on the family farm near Tribbey.

In 1919, she married Alva B. Cossey in Tribbey.

Following her marriage, she and her husband lived on the farm in Tribbey, and moved to Oklahoma City in 1940. Around 1950, she moved to Coeur D Alene, Idaho, working as an licensed practical nurse until she retired. In 1985, she moved to Shawnee and had made her home in Tecumseh since 1991.

Mr. Cossey preceded her in death in 1960. She later married Andy Anderson and he preceded her in death in 1968.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and one daughter, Geraldine LaRae Cossey.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Frankie Cossey of Tecumseh; seven grandchildren and spouses, Janis and Randy Brooks of Wewoka; Joe and Malinda Cossey of Burns, Tenn.; Pam and Jim Strawn of Albany, Ore.; Bob Usery of Tacoma, Wash.; Nicholas Usery of Atlanta, Ga.; Paul Hamley of Bend, Ore.; Gegi Dyer of Portland, Ore.; six great-grandchildren, including Jeff Brooks of Norman and Jacy Cable of McAlester; one great-great granddaughter, Bren Marie Cable of McAlester.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tribbey Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Adams officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.

Lloyd E. Wallgren

Lloyd E. Wallgren of Norman died Friday. He was 77.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Sister Pat Kirby, Pentecostal Lighthouse of Shawnee, officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery. Other information is pending.

Alma Juanita Wolfe

Alma Juanita Wolfe died Thursday in Shawnee. She was 74.

She was born April 27, 1926, near Prague. She was the daughter of Argus W. and Dovie (Seaton) Young.

She was a McLoud resident. She had worked for Sylvania Electric, Shawnee; AT&T, Oklahoma City; Beverly's Restaurant, Oklahoma City, and Curtis Watson's, McLoud Exit on I-40.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her mother, Dovie Young, Meeker; one son, Ronald Eugene Wolfe, Oklahoma City; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Ann and Bobby Holmes, Sparks; one daughter-in-law, Liz Wolfe, Oklahoma City; three brothers and their wives, Homer and June Young, El Reno; John J. and Nelma Young, Prague; Waldo and JoAnn Young of Prague; the father of her children, Donald G. Wolfe, Durant; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with Homer and Waldo Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Cemetery in Seminole County.

Iva Faye Smith

Iva Faye Smith of Shawnee died Saturday at a local nursing home. She was 74.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of God Chapel, 1415 Gordon Cooper Drive, with Bro. Merrill Smith and Bro. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
