Arlene Bowen Earp

Arlene Bowen Earp died Saturday in Shawnee. She was 72.

She was born July 18, 1928, in Wellston to Thomas Adolph and Francis Mosella Fullerlove Bowen.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Meeker. Mrs. Earp retired from Vocational Rehabilitation Services after working 25 years.

On July 18, 1944, she married Claud Earp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Foster Bowen and one sister, Elva Bowen.

Survivors include her husband, Claud Earp, one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Charles Towler, one son, Tom Earp, one sister, Sylvia Austian of Moore; three grandsons, one granddaughter, four great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, two stepgreat-granddaughters and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Christian Church at Meeker. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Chandler.

Edward M. Robinson

Edward M. Robinson died Sunday at his home near Prague. He was 80.

He was born June 13, 1920, in Trenton, Mo., to O.F. and Alma (Hobbs) Robinson. Robinson married Aileen Palmer in Oklahoma City on Oct. 12, 1946.

He had been a resident of Pottawatomie County since 1975.

Robinson, a member of the First Baptist Church in Midwest City, retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1983 after working for 37 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Panama.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Corky and one grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Aileen Robinson of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Edna Marie Robinson, Oklahoma City; two daughters and one son-in-law, Brenda Wood, Austin, Texas; Janet and Doug Tye, Arlington, Texas; four sisters, Mary Sharp, Modesto, Calif.; Nellie Braton, Raytown, Mo.; Bertha Faye Ervin, Carson City, Nev.; Letha Glover, Booneville, Ark.; two brothers, Harold Eugene Robinson, Colcord, Calif.; Mickey Robinson, Modesto, Calif.; five grandchildren, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Shawnee, 1102 W. MacArthur, Shawnee OK 74804 or to M.D.A. (ALS), 5601 N.W. 72nd, Suite 218, Oklahoma City OK 73132.

Marshall Woodrow Pipkin

Marshal Woodrow Pipkin of Seminole died Sunday at a Seminole hospital. He was 84.

He was born Oct. 19, 1916, in Little. He was the son of James L. Pipkin and Blanche Vera (Dunaway) Pipkin. He married Mildred Spurlock on June 6, 1940, in Norman.

He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II serving as a yeoman second class. Pipkin received a law degree from the University of Oklahoma, was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and OU fraternity, "Pi Kappa Alpha."

He left Seminole County for 25 years to work in Biloxi, Miss., where he was a professor of training/exercise on Keesler Air Force Base. Pipkin retired in 1985.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Pipkin Jan. 12, 1994; brothers, Jim Pipkin and Wade Pipkin, and sisters, Jerva Anderson Ruth Roberts.

Survivors include two daughters, Marsha Everett of Memphis, Tenn.; Merilee Pipkin of Seminole; one sister, Frances Higgins of Norman; two grandchildren, Dawn Waxler and De Everett; two great-grandchildren, Danica and Dylan Waxler.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Karges officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery with military honors.

Dixie Rosella Martin

Dixie Rosella "Rosie" Martin died Saturday at her home in Harrah. She was 84.

She was born Nov. 23, 1916, in St. Jo, Ark., to Jesse Franklin and Mary Lucinda (Counts) Martin.

Miss Martin grew up in Paden, where she attended school. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was a cook and owned many businesses in and around the Paden area.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John Perry Martin, who died in World War II, Alvin Franklin Martin; two sisters, Jewell Myers and Lillie Mae Martin.

Survivors include brothers, Murrel Benjamin Martin, McLoud; Leslie Martin, Harrah and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pavilion in the Paden Cemetery in Paden, with Bro. Rusty Dawson officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.

Margaret Izell Garner Onstott

Margaret Izell "Pat" Garner Onstott of Seminole died Saturday at her home. She was 77.

She was born April 12, 1923, in Asher, the daughter of L.A. Farley and Florence May (Robertson) Farley.

A homemaker, she married Loyde Daniel Garner in Oil Center on Dec. 25, 1940. He died on May 23, 1972.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Loyde Daniel Garner; one son, eight sisters and one brother.

Survivors include her long-time companion Ray Onstott of the home; daughter-in-law, Judy Garner; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two stepsons, two stepdaughters, 10 stepgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rusty Dawson officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery.

Claude E. Cochran

Shawnee resident Claude E. Cochran died Thursday in a local nursing home. He was 86.

Cochran was born Nov. 17, 1913, in Carrolton, Mo., the son of Claude L. and Millie (Lightfoot) Cochran.

He married Gwynetha L. Green on July 2, 1932, in Macon, Mo.

He worked as an engineer for Atlantic Richfield Company for 35 years.

Cochran joined the First Christian Church in Elmer, Mo.

He also lived in Illinois, New Mexico and Iowa. He had been a Shawnee resident since 1954.

Cochran was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Millie Cochran; and a sister, Esta Cochran Elliott.

Survivors include his wife, Gwynetha Cochran, Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Glen Ercil and Pat Cochran, Monticello, Miss.; three grandchildren, Vicki Robbins, Linda Poche and Glen E. Cochran II; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel in Shawnee, with Dr. James D. Sill officiating.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Charles Franklin Truax

Charles Franklin Truax died Thursday in Cushing. He was 58.

He was born June 8, 1941, in Chandler. He was the son of Joseph F. and Winnifred (Wilson) Truax.

Truax worked as a driver for Acord Trucking and had been working as a driver for Lincoln County for the past four years. He married Kathy Lantz June 30, 1963, at Chandler.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, JoAnn Hobbs.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Truax of Chandler; one daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Robert Vasquez of Chandler; three stepgrandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer and Cris; one niece, Karen Hendricks of Meeker and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel of Chandler, with the Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler.

Mary Ann Anderson

Mary Ann Boone Anderson of Oklahoma City died Thursday.

She was born in McAlester to John Frank and Ruth Cooper Boone.

She worked at Coming Glass Co. in Shawnee and glass plant in Ada. She married Henry R. Anderson in 1938 in Antlers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry; a daughter, Lou Ann McGuire; a sister, Dorothy Jackson; a brother, James T. Boone and baby brother, Marion.

Survivors include her daughter, Kim Ruth E. Anderson, Oklahoma City; two granddaughters and husbands, Laura Ann and Mike Clark, Stillwater; Pamela and Eric Estes, Edmond; six great-grandchildren, Marla, Joshua and Robyn Clark of Stillwater; Stephanie, Christopher and Ryan Estes of Edmond; two brothers, John and Mary Boone of Angleton, Texas; Daniel and Virleen Boone, Moreno Valley, Calif.; son-in-law, James W. McGuire of Crescent and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friend.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Crescent with the Rev. Marty Harkey officiating. Burial will be at Crescent Cemetery under the direction of Abernathy Funeral Home, Crescent.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Crescent Building Fund.

Patricia Ann (Line) Tipken

Patricia Ann (Line) Tipken, Midwest City, died Friday in a Midwest City hospital. She was 54.

Mrs. Tipken was born on Feb. 3, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Aaron Murphy and Mary (Harvey) Line.

She married Joseph D. Tipken. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1999.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Tipken moved to Midwest City from Corpus Christi, Texas, when she was 3 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Aaron and Mary Line; and a daughter, Pamela Kay McDaniels.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ron and Cindy Mathews, Oklahoma City; David McDaniels, Midwest City; Tim and Robin McDaniels, Midwest City; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Nancy Line, Houston, Texas; niece and nephews, Kim and Todd Line, Houston, Texas; and 10 grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Prague City Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Preston B. McPhail

Preston B. McPhail of Tulsa died Thursday in a Tulsa hospital. He was 81.

He was born May 25, 1918, in Stephens County to Gates and Bertha (Brewer) McPhail. He graduated from Comanche High School and attended Oklahoma A&M college four years.

McPhail served in the U.S. Navy. He was a construction consultant and professional structural inspector.

McPhail, a member of Skelly Drive Baptist Church, was married to Billie Bailey Dec. 12, 1959.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Arthur Miles McPhail and sister Martha Douglas.

He is survived by his wife Billie of the home, four daughters and sons in law; Eileen and Al Thomas of Pennsauken N.J., Karen and Glendale Markwell of Meeker, Micki DeYoung of Tulsa, Marilyn and James Dulaney of Tulsa, one son and daughter-in-law; Preston C. and Tamara McPhail of Canton Mich., one brother and sister-in-law; Gates and Loretta McPhail of Duncan, and one sister; Frances Ireland of Lawton, 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Graveside services are set for 10 a.m. Monday at Sunnyside Cemetery, Meeker. The Rev. Kent House will lead memorial services at 2 p.m. at Skelly Drive Baptist Church in Tulsa. Moore Funeral Home 9350 East 51st, Tulsa, will provide funeral arrangements.
