Lois E. Boring

Lois E. Boring of Tecumseh died Friday. She was 76.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Tecumseh Cemetery with Rev. Robert Rider officiating. Other information is pending with Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Earl Stockman

Earl Stockman died Wednesday in Shawnee. He was 79.

He was born Nov. 30, 1920, in Brownwood, Texas. He was the son of Brennen and Martha Viola (Matney) Stockman.

He married Mary Margaret Ellen Singletary July 19, 1945.

Stockman lived near Prague in Pottawatomie County. He was a truck driver for Safeway Stores for 25 years and served in the U.S. Army Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Stockman, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Elaine Boyd, Prague, Earl D. and Ethel Stockman, California, and Don Stockman, California; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jerry McDaniel, Tulsa; daughter-in-law, Nancy Stockman, Illinois; brother and sister-in-law, Brennen and Norma Stockman, Bartlesville; sister, Vivian Stockman; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Prague Cemetery.

O.S. Stinchcomb

Former Shawnee resident O.S. "George" Stinchcomb died Monday in Oklahoma City. He was 79.

He was born Feb. 4, 1920, in Fayetteville, Ga., the only son of Luther A. and Claudia (Hooten) Stinchcomb.

He married Billy Jo Byram on June 30, 1945, in Ardmore. She preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 1989.

He served in the European Theater during World War II, and was a longtime member of Chandler First United Methodist Church.

Stinchcomb moved to Chandler in 1953, and owned a John Deere dealership.

He married Lorraine Berry on Feb. 10, 1990.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Stinchcomb; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Roger Owen, Oklahoma City; Judy and Tom Bierman, Chandler; three stepchildren; two sisters, Lydia Atkinson, Stone Mountain, Ga.; Beth Carr, Fayetteville, Ga.; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were held Wednesday at Chandler First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mike DeMoss and the Rev. Hugh Willoby officiating.

Private burial was in Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler.

Eva C. Doody

Shawnee resident Eva C. Doody died Tuesday in a local nursing home. She was 105.

Mrs. Doody was born on April 3, 1894, in Henry, Ill., to John and Mary (Schmitt) Horbach.

She married John "Lee" Doody on Oct. 8, 1918.

She was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church, and the St. Benedict's Altar Society.

Mrs. Doody moved to Shawnee in 1906.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Doody; her parents, John and Mary Horbach; two sisters, Anne Horbach and Cora Thorn; two brothers, Louis and Julius Horbach; and two nephews, Harry Thorn and Richard Horbach.

Survivors include four nephews and their spouses, Jerome and Beverly Horbach, Concord, Calif.; Ted and Carol Horbach, Apple Valley, Calif.; John and Joyce Thorn, Houston, Texas; Bill and Marcia Thorn, Houston, Texas; two nieces and their spouses, Judith and Mike O'Conner, Shawnee; Marilyn and Ted Alexander, Burbank, Calif.; and many other relatives, including Betty Thorn Smith, Hot Springs Village, Ark.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Shawnee with the Rev. Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B., officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel of Shawnee.

Wanda Stalik

Wanda Stalik, Porum Landing, died Tuesday. She was 72.

She was born April 7, 1927, in Shawnee, the daughter of Pete and Hazel (Frazier) Pierson.

She was preceded in death by Stach Stalik and Kenneth Miller.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Kay Miller, Placintas, N.M.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and David Miranda, Cookson; Mona and Richard Wallace, Porum Landing; Rose and Tim Griffey, Columbia, Md.; Debbie and Michael Selling, Mustang; a brother, Jim Pierson, Harrah; two sisters, Edna Thacker, Missouri; Evelyn Roland, California; an aunt, Hattie Hames, Meeker; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Asa Smith Funeral Chapel in Harrah. Burial will be in Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah, under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service.

Wilfred Preston

Wilfred Preston of Oklahoma City died Monday. He was 79.

He was born Aug. 4, 1920, in Orleans County, N.Y., to Milton and Grace (Snell) Preston.

Preston was a machinist most of his life.

His parents and brother Ronald preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys; one son, Orville Preston and wife Alice of Eagle Harbor, N.Y.; three daughters, Muriel Henson and husband Johnny of John's Island, S.C.; Holly Gayton and husband Wayne of Albuquerque, N.M.; Heather Preston of Oklahoma City; one sister, Jean Miller and husband Ralph of Lockport, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

Private family services will be held today. Arrangements directed by Asa Smith Funeral Service.

Charles Donald Forrester

Charles Donald "Don" Forrester of Shawnee died Monday. He was 63. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Dean Lynn Wenner

Dean Lynn Wenner of Seminole died Tuesday at a local hospital. He was 56.

He was born March 12, 1943, in Norman. He was the son of Fred Mancil Wenner and Jessie Pauline (Guntharp) Wenner.

He served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1964-1970. He graduated from Central State, Edmond, with a degree in business administration.

He married Verna Mae Dodd on Nov. 28, 1975, in Sand Springs.

Wenner worked at Mobil Chemical in Shawnee for the past nine years. He had worked for Dowell in Seminole for 13 years prior to Mobil.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Verna M. Wenner of the home; two brothers, Dale Wenner of Norman; Fred Wenner of Tulsa; one sister, Faye Wenner of Dayton, Ohio.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.

Hal Lusk

Hal Lusk of Savanna, Okla., died Tuesday in McAlester. He was 83.

He was born May 31, 1916, in Dewey to Bert and Ruby Gustafson Lusk. He grew up and attended schools in Dewey and graduated from Dewey High School,

Lusk served in the U.S. Army in the Signal Corps during World War II. He married Billie Jackson on July 3, 1942, in Shawnee.

He later attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a degree in pharmacy. He worked at the Veterans Hospital in Bonham, Texas, and also hospitals in Des Moines, Iowa; Lubbock, Texas; Los Animos, Colo., and retired from the Veterans Hospital in Talihina.

He had lived in Savanna since 1978. Lusk was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1098 of McAlester, the Masonic Lodge of Shawnee and the Frink Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and aunt, Florene Paul.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Lusk of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Cliff Mangrum of Savanna; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Vicki Lusk of Oklahoma City; Chad and Julie Lusk of Krebs; great-grandchildren, Colby Lusk of Krebs; Gabe Lusk of Krebs.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Frink Baptist Church with Rev. James Collins officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Ingram R. Henry Jr.

Ingram R. Henry Jr. died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was 79.

He was born July 21, 1920, in Ardmore the son of Isabel and Ingram R. Henry. He was married to Edna Ruth Frye on Aug. 21, 1943, in the Marine Base Chapel in Quantico, Va.

Henry served in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II, retiring as a captain. He was a graduate of North Texas University with graduate work at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

He was employed by Benson-Montin and for many years was President of Henry Petroleum, Inc.

He was many times elder in the Presbyterian Church. Henry was also a private pilot.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth of the home; his daughter, Pamela Ruth Henry of Oklahoma City; his son, Ingram R. Henry III, daughter-in-law, Judy, and granddaughter, Staci, all of Oklahoma City.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the United Presbyterian Church and burial at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore. Both services are under the direction of Dr. Max Shumake, Harvey Douglas Funeral Home, Ardmore.

James Doyle Jackson

Shawnee resident James Doyle "A.J." Jackson died Wednesday at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 53.

He was born Jan. 13, 1947, in Shawnee to Houston and Evelyn (Mackey) Jackson.

Jackson married Sharon Hamilton, who is the mother of his daughter. He later married Sonya Winrow.

He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1964 and worked for Action Inc. in the accounting department. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Nelson CME Chapel and the Masonic Lodge.

He lived in Shawnee most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his daughter, Jacqueline, California; granddaughter, Portia, California; brother, Wayne Jackson, Shawnee; first cousins, Donald, Gayla, Reggie and Bernard Jackson, Shawnee; and a host of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Nelson CME Chapel with the Rev. Arthur Harris officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.
