Allen K. Morris

Allen K. Morris died Saturday in Tulsa. He was 77.

He was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Shawnee. He was the son of Grover and Clara (Falls) Morris.

He has been a resident of Stroud since 1976 and was a member of the Only Way Baptist Church and Cushing Indian Mission Church.

Morris was retired as a minister. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 1118 Cushing.

Morris married Elizabeth Mae Wamego in Kansas on Feb. 1, 1946.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth of the home; two sons, Zack Morris of Shawnee; Tim Morris of Yuba City, Calif.; one brother, William Verl Morris of Sasakwa; two sisters, Viola Pruitt of Stroud; Alice Grant of Stroud; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Wake services will be 7 p.m. today at the Parks Chapel in Stroud.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Parks Chapel with Rev. Duane Pratt officiating. Burial will be in the Stroud Cemetery.

J.D. Williams

J.D. Williams died Sunday in Eufaula. He was 86.

He was born July 23, 1914, in Hickory Point, Tenn. He was the son of Don C. and Elizabeth (Clelland) Williams.

He served during World War II in the U.S. Army. During his active years he worked in oil production.

He married Imogene Stidham in Chandler on April 4, 1968.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Imogene, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include two sons and wives, Harold and Shirley Williams of Shawnee; E.J. and Laurae Williams of Chandler; his first wife, Anna Mae Terrell of Chandler; one sister, Julia Jacks of Vanalstine, Texas; one great-grandchild and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler with the Rev. Bruce Newby officiating. Services are under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

Albert Sanderson Jr.

Albert Sanderson Jr. of Shawnee died Saturday in Oklahoma City. He was 47.

He was born June 2, 1953, in Seminole to Rosalee and Albert Sanderson. He was married to Ruth Ann Wahpepah at Shawnee on May 5, 1975.

Sanderson, a construction worker, who lived most of his life in the Shawnee area.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chebon Jason Sanderson on July 22, 1995.

Survivors include wife, Ruth Ann Wahpepah Sanderson, Shawnee; five brothers, Bobby Sanderson, Cincinnati, Ohio; Larry Jesse, Konawa; Edmond Fox, Lexington; Harold Fox, Shawnee; Milo Fox, Konawa; six sisters, Shirley Wagner, Browning, Mont.; Virginia Sharver, Konawa; Katie Isaacs, Konawa; Maxine Deere, Sasakwa; Breenda Dailey, Oklahoma City; Lizzie Fox, Konawa.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pentecostal Church of God, officiated by the Rev. Arthur Carpitcher, assisted by the Rev. Tom Bear Jr.

Burial will follow at High Spring Cemetery, under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home of Konawa.

Truman Arthur Greenfield

Truman Arthur Greenfield died Sunday in Chandler. He was 70.

He was born Feb. 5, 1930. He was the son of Glen Arthur and Blanche (Ralston) Greenfield.

He worked in the automotive industry for many years. Since 1984, he had operated his own automotive machine shop in Stillwater.

Greenfield married Gerry Stanfill on Dec. 22, 1950. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in 1951 and 1952.

He and his wife supported the Girl Scouts in Lincoln County for more than 35 years by donating a portion of his farm north of Chandler for a day camp and troop activities.

Survivors include his wife, Gerry Greenfield of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Annette Greenfield of Chandler; Larry and Sherrell Greenfield of Chandler; Michael and Toni Greenfield of Henderson, Nev.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheri and Mick Jones of Chandler; Teri and D.R. Shipley of Tecumseh; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil and Jewel Greenfield of Chandler; Ola Wayne and Mary Greenfield of Hemphill, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elsie Elliott of Chandler; Opal and Marvin Contway of Chandler; two sisters-in-law, Bertha Greenfield of Enid; Louise Greenfield of Parkland; 11 grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Chandler with Rev. Thom Cappelle officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Park Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

Memorials may be made to Caring Hands Hospice at Stroud.

Alvin Jr. Hinkle

Longtime Okemah area resident Alvin Jr. Hinkle, Castle, died Sunday at Creek Nation Hospital. He was 75.

Hinkle was born May 26, 1925, in Marshal, Ark., to Charlie and Rosie Lawrence Hinkle. He attended school at Mason and served on the USS Antietam during World War II.

He owned and operated Hinkle Right of Way for more than 30 years and served as county commissioner for four years. He was a member of the Thlopthlocco Indian Methodist Church, Okemah American Legion, VFW and Odd Fellow Lodge.

On July 15, 1982, he married Lillie Ann Johnson in Miami, Okla.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Ann Hinkle, of the home in Castle; four sons, Kenneth Hinkle, Calera; Kevin Hinkle, Okemah; David Hinkle, Phoenix, Ariz.; Randell Hinkle, Bristow; two daughters, Frances Bleeker, Okemah; Linda Thompson, Van Buren, Ark.; brother, Leroy Hinkle, Castle; two sisters, Jeannie Luster, Wagner; Ruby Beatty, Sanoma, Calif.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thlopthlocco Indian Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Byrd and the Rev. Jack Davis officiating. Burial will be in Welty Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.

Robert Harvey Hudson

Former Seminole resident Robert Harvey "Bob" Hudson, 81, Moore, died Monday at a Moore nursing center.

Graveside services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole. The Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate. Swearingen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born July 17, 1919, in Paris, Ark., to Elmer Harvey Hudson and Sarah Cora (Dallahite) Hudson. Hudson married Doris May (Kime) on March 30, 1968, in Oklahoma City.

Hudson served in the U.S. Army during Worle War II and the Korean War and retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1975. He moved from Oklahoma City to Seminole in 1974, retiring from Blue Bell in Seminole in 1980.

Hudson was a Methodist and a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Neil Hudson and an infant sister.

Survivors include his wife, Doris May (Kime) Hudson, of the home; three daughters, Janice Lynch and Darlene Rooney, both of Moore; Nita Plumley, Durango, Colo.; five grandchildren, Kimberly Broussard, Tara Faulkner, Allysa Rooney, Stefanie Rooney, Robert Stevens; and three great-grandchildren.

Jimmie Glen Branson Sr.

Jimmie Glen Branson Sr. of Honobia died Thursday in Fort Smith, Ark. He was 63.

He was born Sept. 14, 1937, in Tecumseh to Pansy Florence and Juanita Myrtle Richardson Branson. Branson was a heavy equipment operator and worked for the State Forestry Department.

He was a farmer and had lived in the Honobia area since 1972.

He married Betty Moore Nov. 15, 1986, at First Baptist Church of Battiest. Branson was a member of the First Baptist Church of Honobia, which he helped to establish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pansy and Juanita Branson; daughter, Donna Lavonne Branson; and brother, Billy Bob Branson.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Branson of the home; son, Jimmie Glenn Branson Jr.; daughter, Desiree and Phillip Eakle, Ft. Gibson; daughter, Kathleen and James Johnson, Calera; stepson, Michael and Felecia Savage, Norman; 10 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters, Tommie Jean Fields, Clayton; Virginia Mae Bussey, Tecumseh; three brothers, Charles Branson, Honobia; Rick Branson, Honobia; Roy Branson, Maud; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Services were Saturday at First Baptist Church of Honobia with the Rev. Archie Phillips and the Rev. Everett Scott officiating. Burial was at Brown Cemetery, Tecumseh, under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home of Talihina.

Clell Ethelbert Lightner

Clell Ethelbert Lightner died Friday in Stroud. He was 76.

He was born June 6, 1923, in Tecumseh. He was the son of Loren Everett and Dora Ethel (Vandecar) Lightner.

He married Dorothy Mae Linnet in Sapulpa on Dec. 7, 1945. Lightner was a resident of Stroud since 1979, moving from California.

He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a retired mechanic and a member of the Four Square Full Gospel Church in Lompoc, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mae Lightner of the home; three sons, Richard Wayne Lightner of Cushing; Albert Paul Lightner of Yuma, Ariz.; Clell Everett Lightner of Chapman, Kan.; one daughter, Elizabeth Christine Fowler of Bakersfield, Calif.; one brother, Lecil Lightner of Bakersfield, Calif.; two sisters, Vada Slover of Oklahoma City; Freda Gregory of Lompoc, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Stroud with the Rev. Tony Black officiating. Burial will be in the Southheights Cemetery in Sapulpa under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Stroud.

Lowell Don Hayes

Longtime Chandler resident Lowell Don Hayes died Saturday in Oklahoma City. He was 67.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Assembly of God Church in Chandler.

Further information will be announced by Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Chandler.

Hazel L. Patterson

Former Chandler resident Hazel L. Patterson died Saturday. She was 94.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at New Zion Cemetery.

Bonita Taber

Bonita "Bonnie" Taber of Shawnee died Friday at a local nursing home. She was 76.

She was born June 24, 1923, in Shawnee to Ernest Taylor Mauldin and Lois Verna (Ragsdale) Mauldin.

Mrs. Taber attended Shawnee Public Schools.

She was married to Carl James "Pete" Taber on Nov. 5, 1938, in Norman.

She was a homemaker and worked for Douglass Aircraft during World War II. She worked on the dairy farm with her husband, then later worked for several grocery stores, including Pratt's Foods.

Mrs. Taber was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She lived most of her life in Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 56 years.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Mae Newell and Johnny, Shawnee; Verna and Jon Kilburn, Shawnee; Lana and Dan Sealock, Prague; two sisters, Gertrude Tull, Denton, Texas; Shirley Redikopp, Shawnee; five grandchildren and spouses, Carla and Matthew Beauford, Amber and Mark Corjay, Danny and Andrea Sealock, Shane and Davina Sealock and George and Jana Friend; and ten great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Stillwell and the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
