Carroll Dale Jauch

Memorial services for Carroll Dale Jauch, 84, of Cushing, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 at the Palmer and Marler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Eslinger presiding. There will be a reception following the service at the Elk's Lodge in Cushing.

Funeral services are entrusted to the Palmer and Marler Funeral Home of Cushing.

Mr. Jauch was born July 5, 1921 in Yale, Oklahoma to John and Vera B. (Sutherland) Jauch. He received his early education at Ripley and was a graduate of the Ripley High School.

Mr. Jauch owned and trained Grey Hounds; he was a member of the V.F.W., Moose Lodge and the Rocky Mountain Kennel Club. Mr. Jauch was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War.

Mr. Jauch died on Wednesday Jan. 4, 2006 at the Tulsa Regional Hospital.

Survivors include sons, John Jauch of Cushing, Robert Jauch of Castle Rock, Colo. and Jerry Jauch of Oakdale, Louis.; daughters Twila Acosta of Abilene, Texas and Sherry Cox of Burkburnett, Texas; one sister, Coweta Sharp of Chino, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two nieces, Paula Stearman of Delores, Colo. and Roberta White of Chino, Calif.; step children, Susie Barnes, Diane Towler and Eddie, Jerry and Jim Beatty.

Mr. Jauch was preceded in death by his parents and by one sister.

Memorials may be made to the Cushing Senior Citizens Center.

Deaun Allie Wright Bowling

Deaun Allie Wright Bowling, longtime Cushing resident, died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 88.

The daughter of the late Jesse D. Wright and Pheoba Shumate Wright, Deaun was born Jan. 17, 1917 in Lincoln County and attended school in Shamrock.

She was united in marriage to Virgil Bowling Nov. 24, 1934. They made their home around the Cushing area. They were members of the Park Place Baptist Church in Cushing. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling with her husband.

She moved to the Cimarron Towers when her husband Virgil died Jan. 13, 1987. She moved to Cyril in 1999 and lived with her brother Clarence Wright and niece, moving back to Cushing to Linwood Retirement Apartments in March of 2004.

Deaun is survived by three nieces Carlene Gibson of Elgin, Okla., Allyene Luna of Cyril, Okla. and Shelia Bergey of Alaska; two nephews Keith Wright and his wife Linda of Edmond and Cecil Wright of Cushing, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Deaun was preceded in death by three brothers Cleo, Clarence and Alfred Wright; one sister Nellie Wright; two nephews Butch and James Wright and two nieces Barbara Lamb and Karen Reiley.

Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. in the Davis Memorial Chapel with Reverend Robert Adams, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Billy James Williams

Billy James Williams, longtime Cushing area resident, passed away on Monday, Dec. 19, 2005 at his residence at the age of 71 years.

The son of the late Chester Harvey Williams and Flora Catherine Potter, Billy was born on Feb. 22, 1934 in Yale, Oklahoma, and was reared and educated in the Council Valley and Norfolk area.

Billy was united in marriage to JoAnn Harris on July 1, 1961 in Blackburn, Oklahoma, and to this union four children, Cheri, Danny, Nancy and Jimmy, were born.

He owned and operated a plumbing company in Cushing for several years prior to his retirement in 2003.

He was a member of the Advent Christian Church; was a veteran of the United States Army; he loved fishing and was known around town for his hobby of using his metal detector.

Billy is survived by his wife of over 44 years, JoAnn Williams of the home; two daughters Cheri Sovia and Nancy Poyner and her husband Jeff of Cushing; two sons Danny Williams and his wife Joni of Cushing and Jimmy Williams of the home; seven grandchildren, Joshua Sovia, Nicole Sovia, Kevin Williams, Kyle Williams, Alicia Williams, Jacob Poyner and Kayla Poyner; five brothers, Jack Williams and Lawrence Williams of Cushing, Ronnie Williams of Grand Prairie, TX, Jerry Williams of Lawrence, KS and Richard Williams of Powell, WY; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Dean Williams and one sister Wanda Lea Williams.

Services will be held Friday, Dec. 23, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. in the Advent Christian Church with Reverend Roger White, pastor of the First Baptist Church Shamrock, officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Laverne Haskin

Laverne Haskin, longtime Cushing resident, died Tuesday evening, Dec. 27, 2005 in Duncan, Okla. at the age of 82 years.

The daughter of the late Earl Evans and Mary Lou Ford Evans, Laverne was born on Feb. 22, 1923, south of Cushing, and was reared and educated in the Cushing area.

She was united in marriage to Marlin Haskin on July 26, 1943, two weeks prior to him being shipped to Europe during World War II. To this union three children, Janet, Lois and Mike were born. Marlin preceded her in death on November 12, 1994.

Laverne became a Born Again Christian as a young child while over-hearing the Reverend Harold Haymes explain the plan of salvation to her mother.

She was a strong, private person who loved her family, her extended family, and her church family. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday School and Bible school for years; she had played the piano for the church for over 30 years; sang in church, and at weddings and funerals and had sang in the choir for as long as possible; she enjoyed farming, working with her cattle, vegetable gardening, sewing, reading and praying.

Survivors include her children, Janet Haskin of Tulsa, Lois Dawes and her husband Mike of Duncan, OK and Mike Haskin and his wife Fran of Oklahoma City; her grandchildren, Adrian and Lindsey Dawes of St. Louis and Sarah Haskin of Oklahoma City; other family and a multitude of extended family and close friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Weston Evans and one grandson Aaron Dawes.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Murray, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Avery Cemetery.

Marvel Lou Robertson

Graveside services for Marvel Lou Robertson, 66, of Victoria, Texas formerly of Yale, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, May 8, 2006 at the Lawson Cemetery, Yale.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 8 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Yale.

Marvel was born Oct. 4, 1939 to Merle Allen and Marvel (Mount) Talbott in Yale, Oklahoma. Mrs. Marvel had worked at University of Houston-Chair of Education as a secretary. Mrs. Robertson was very active with Children‚s work, was a cast member of the Northside Christmas Pageant, and also in the Choir at Northside Baptist Church in Victoria, TX. Marvel passed away May 4, 2006 in Victoria, Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Mr. Bill Robertson of Victoria, Texas; two daughters, Kimberly Dawn Casey of Prescott Valley, Ariz. and Robin Lynne Brown of Maramec, Okla; one step-daughter, Lucinda Gay Renfro of Crosby, Texas, one son, Vincent McAdam Porter of Victoria, Texas; four step-sons, Kermit Lee Robertson of Victoria, Texas, Royce Ray Robertson of Lake Jackson, Texas, Glenn Earl Robertson of Cuero, Texas and Markham Neil Robertson of Ashville, NC; four sisters, Betty Jean Nelson of Sedan, Kan., Nancy Jane Ross of Denham Springs, Louis., Caroline Sue Edwards of Ponca City, Okla. and Donna Ruth Thrasher of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Charles Allen Talbott of North Carolina, John Wesley Talbott of Stillwater, Okla., David Joe Talbott of Odessa, Texas; five grandsons, twelve step-grandchildren, one great grandson, and two step great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Billy Porter, two brothers Jerry Albert Talbott and Jack Blain Talbott.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Yale, Okla.

Jimmy E. Killough

Jimmy E. Killough, retired local businessman, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 83 years.

The son of the late Samuel Everett Killough and Anna Alta Mitchell Killough, Jimmy was born on March 14, 1923 in Claremore, OK and was reared and educated in Cushing graduating from Cushing High School in the class of 1941.

In February of 1943, Jimmy entered the United States Army, serving in the South Pacific, as a heavy equipment operator. Following his discharge in November of 1945 he returned to Cushing and was married to Beulah Greenwood on January 22, 1947 and to this union two sons, Jimmy Don and Jack were born.

Jimmy worked for Hughes Lumber Company for over 17 years prior to being self-employed in the dozer, back hoe and dump truck business.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church; he enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving include his wife of over 59 years, Beulah Killough of the home; two sons, Jimmy Don Killough and Jack Killough both of Texas; one brother Don Killough of Meeker, OK; three grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 2 P.M. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with Dr. Lonny Lee, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

Robert "Bob" Cook

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006 in the Drumright First Assembly of God Church for longtime Drumright resident Robert "Bob" Cook. Rev. Allen Lewis of the Holdenville First Assembly of God Church officiated, assisted by Rev. Vernon Cooley of Drumright. The Lights of Christ provided special music. Honorary urn bearers were Daniel "Chip" McClure, Nelson "Goober" Martin, Tommy Harper, Gene Carroll, Donnie Bridgeman and Danny Christian. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Michael's Funeral Home of Drumright.

Robert was born in Cushing on Dec. 22, 1941 to the late Glen Clint Cook and Anna Jane (Hensley) Cook. He passed from this life suddenly on Tuesday evening, May 2, 2006 at the age of 64 years 4 months and 10 days. Bob was raised and educated in Cushing and was a graduate of Cushing High School. He had lived his entire life in Drumright/ Cushing area. On March 25, 1977 he married Linda Campbell in Drumright and they have remained together until his death. He enjoyed going to rodeos and time with his grandchildren and family.

At the time of his death he was employed with the Quapaw Company as a tower operator. The family has requested memorials be sent to: American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, Kan., 66601-1653, or you may contact Michael's Funeral Home for additional information.

His remaining family includes his loving wife, Linda Cook of Drumright; children, Tina and Jerry Mackey of Cushing, Amy and Terry Ruckman of Drumright, Eric and Laura Cook of Texas; grandchildren, Remington, Keenan, Keifer, Zachary, Preston, Riley, Dylan, Madelyn and Logan. Also Leslie Boyer of Eucha and other relatives and loving friends.

Charlene Janette Anthony

Charlene Janette Anthony, 66, of Midwest City, died in her home on May 2, 2006.

Charlene was born March 10, 1940 in Hominy, OK the daughter of Joe and Effie Kendrick. She graduated from Cushing High School in 1958; graduated from OSU in 1962 with a degree in Elementary Education and was active in Chi Omega; received her Masters Degree from UCO; was a teacher and counselor for 14 years at Traub Elementary and Tinker Elementary in the MidDel Public School System; MidDel Teacher of the Year in 1999; served on the MidDel School District Information and Professional Development Committee and was an active member of the Association of Classroom Teachers.

Charlene loved to play bridge, belonged to the Blue Bell Garden Club and PEO in Midwest City, loved all kinds of music, played the piano, enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and friends and working with her husband at Pistol's Family Restaurant.

She is survived by her husband, Don; daughter Kimberly and her husband Ryan Harper of Tulsa; sister-in-law, Phyllis Kendrick of Longview, TX; nephew, Jay Kendrick of Ft. Worth, TX; 2 nieces: Kathie Morrison of Gilmire, TX and Susan Kendrick of Emporia, KS and numerous other family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jim Kendrick.

Funeral Services will be conducted by Ford Funeral Service at 1pm Friday at St. Christopher Episcopal Church with a reception for friends to follow from 2pm to 3pm at the Candlewood Family Center, 315 S. Sooner Rd. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Central Oklahoma Affiliate.
