Nellie Mary Wyckoff

Shawnee resident Nellie Mary Wyckoff, 90, died Thursday in a local nursing home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel. Other information is pending.

Carolyn Stubblefield

Carolyn Stubblefield, 77, Oklahoma City, died Thursday in an Oklahoma City nursing home.

She was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Colorado and attended school at Elmore City.

She received a bachelor of science degree in home economics from East Central University, Ada, and a master's degree in elementary education from the University of Oklahoma, Norman. She also did some graduate work in New Mexico.

Mrs. Stubblefield taught school in Elmore City and in Lovington, N.M.

In November 1968, she married Lynn Stubblefield in Wichita Falls, Texas.

She was a member of Church of Christ, National Education Association and Eastern Star. She had lived in Oklahoma City since January 1970.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brother and sister, Virgie Simmons.

She is survived by her husband of the home.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. Don Sullivan will officiate and burial will be in Johnson Cemetery.

Albert Malcom

Albert Malcom, 79, Tecumseh, died Friday in Tecumseh.

Malcom was born July 14, 1921, in Shell City, Mo., the son of Jessie Elmer and Nellie Josephine (Manley) Malcom. He was raised in the Nevada, Mo., area.

On Oct. 25, 1941, he married Alice Wheeler in Nevada, Mo.

Malcom served in the U.S. Army with the 203rd Coast Artillery, Houndog Regiment from Missouri during World War II.

He later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean conflict and Vietnam War. After 20 years, he retired from the 5010th Air Police at Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska.

While serving in the U.S. Air Force, he lived in several states. In 1998, he moved from Fairbanks to Tecumseh.

Malcom was a member of the Farthest North Peace Officer Association and had served as president for many years. After retiring in 1967, he founded his own construction company in Fairbanks.

He also was active in raising and showing Appaloosa horses. Malcom had served as the president of the Missouri-Arkansas Horse Club and was a member of several saddle clubs.

Preceding him in death were his parents, six brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Anita Cannon of Tecumseh and Vonnie Malcom of Fairbanks; five grandchildren, Denyse Moberly of Fairbanks; Tamara Zizzo of Tucson, Ariz.; Gregory Holm of Fairbanks; Megan Wilbur of Boston, Mass., and Tyler Wilbur of Fairbanks; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Inez Raines of Nevada, Mo., and Geneva Kennedy of Independence, Mo.

A memorial service will be held in Fort Scott, Kan., at a later date. Memorials may be made to a local Diabetes Association.

Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh, is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth McKinney

Ruth McKinney, 87, Okemah, died Friday in Creek Nation Hospital.

She was born Dec. 12, 1913, in Stuart, the daughter of Jesse James Smith and Mollie Bishop Smith. On May 26, 1932, she married James Vester "Butch" McKinney in Wewoka. He preceded her in death May 1, 1958.

She was a riveter at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Factory during World War II.

Mrs. McKinney later managed the Burke Hotel in Okemah. She was owner and operator of Mrs. McKinney's Store from 1949 until closing in 1992.

Mrs. McKinney was a member of First Baptist Church, Women's Missionary Union and the Eastern Star. She had been a resident of Okemah since December 1946.

Also preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors include her sons, Larry McKinney and Ronnie McKinney, both of Okemah; daughter, Barbara Armstrong of Yreka, Calif.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Cemetery Gazebo with the Rev. Curtis Townley officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Okemah.

Guadalupe T. Anaya

Guadalupe "Lupe" T. Anaya, 78, Stroud, died Thursday in Muskogee.

He was born Oct. 28, 1922, in Alice, Texas, to Vivian and Teresa (Trevino) Anaya.

A resident of Stroud since 1990, he was affiliated with the Higher Praise Church in Stroud.

Anaya, who had retired from the U.S. Army, served in the Korean conflict and during the Vietnam era.

On Nov. 13, 1965, he married Mary Martin in Detroit, Mich.

Preceding him in death were his parents and son.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Mary June Brutscher of Goose Creek, S.C., and Pam Crook of Stroud; two sisters, Mickey Perez of Muskegon, Mich., and Trine Garcia of Arlingen, Texas; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be noon Tuesday at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Brook officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services in Stroud.

Vera Couch Wolfe

Jones resident Vera Couch Wolfe died Thursday at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was 90.

She was born Sept. 19, 1910, in Choctaw. The daughter of Ira L. and Minnie (Allen) Taylor Couch, she was also the granddaughter of Captain W.L. Couch, Oklahoma City's first territorial mayor.

She began first grade in 1916, the year the State Center School opened and was the only charter student who attended State Center all 12 years.

After high school, she completed the two-year business course at Draughon's Business College in Oklahoma City.

In 1933, she married her high school sweetheart, Ernest Wolfe.

Mrs. Wolfe, a member of Choctaw Seventh-Day Adventist Church, volunteered for various community services, including the Murrah bombing recovery effort and the May 3, 1999, tornado clean-up effort.

Preceding her in death were her husband; six brothers, Charlie Couch; Rusty Couch; Bill Couch; John Couch; Albert Couch, and Oscar Taylor; and a grandson, Jon Krueger.

Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Arnt Krogstad of Placerville, Calif.; Barbara and Dode Gepford of Jones, and Judy and Jim Krueger of McKenzie, N.D.; her sister, Lena Whitford, Harrah; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Viewing and visitations will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Asa Smith Funeral Home, Harrah. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Summit Ridge Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 18501 N.E. 63rd, Harrah. A light lunch will be held after the service. A private burial service will be held.

Memorials may be made to the Community Services of the Choctaw Seventh-Day Adventist Church or the Wolfe Living Center at Summit Ridge Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

John David McCuistion

John David "Big John" McCuistion, 57, Macomb, died Thursday in Shawnee.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel, Tecumseh, with Jerrel Henderson officiating. Burial will be at Wanette Cemetery.

Other information is pending.

Raymond Lee Blair

Raymond Lee Blair, 83, Meeker, died Thursday at his residence.

Services are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

David Hobbs

Shawnee resident David Hobbs died Saturday in a local hospital. He was 41.

He was born Oct. 19, 1957, in Shawnee to Charles W. Hobbs and Jo Ann (Short) Hobbs. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1975 and graduated from Sooner Mechanical Trade School of Oklahoma City.

He graduated from Charles School of Hair Design and was an instructor. He taught cosmetology for several years and worked in construction.

He married Lara May Hobbs on April 19, 1993, in Shawnee and lived here all his life.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Sr. and Willie Hobbs, and Jessie and Velma Short.

Surviving are his wife, Lara May Hobbs of the home; two children, Cody Wayne Hobbs and Sabra Lei Hobbs of the home; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary Charles and Cathy Hobbs of Shawnee and Larry Joe Hobbs of Shawnee and Carla Hobbs of Meeker; a nephew, Dustin Charles Hobbs; two nieces, Katie Ann Hobbs and Lacy Rayanne Hobbs; 12 cousins; his mother and father, Charles W. and JoAnn Hobbs of Shawnee; and his mother-in-law, LaDonna (May) Epperson.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Bill Matthews and the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

John C. Hudson

Former Shawnee resident, John Clyde Hudson died Saturday in an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 47.

He was born Dec. 24, 1951, in Stillwater, and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1970. He married Sumiko Tamaki on Nov. 12, 1975, in Japan. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 until 1982 and was a 1980 graduate of the University of Redlands, in Redlands, Calif., with a bachelor of arts in management.

His employment included Long John Silver's, Arby's and Kentucky Fried Chicken in management.

Survivors include his wife, Sumiko; two sons, Shinya and Robert, and one daughter, Karen, all of the home; his father and step-mother, Max and Evelyn Hudson, Shawnee; his mother, Doris Dennison Brown, Idabel; a brother, Gary Hudson, Idabel; a half brother, Chris Hudson, Iowa; and a half sister, Denise Pierson, Germany, and several nieces and nephews.

No services are planned.

Raymond Lee Terrel

Raymond Lee Terrel died Sunday in Houston, Texas. He was 78.

He was born May 12, 1920, in Prague.

He was a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 8568 in Livingston, Texas, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, S.J., USA, Valley of Houston, Orient of Texas, an endowed member of the Masonic Sam B. Crawford Lodge No. 1418, a charter member and past patron of Eastern Star New Caney Chapter No. 1093 O.E.S. and volunteer for the Crown of Texas Hospice.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erbin Mae Whitfield Terrel, and a daughter, Mary E. Freeman.

Surviving are a daughter, Glenda Lee Kelley; a brother, Elmer Terrel; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Crown of Texas Hospice, Louisiana-Pacific Tower, 100 I-45 North, Suite 240, Box 103, Conroe, Texas, 77301 or to Shriners Burn Institute, 815 Market St., Galveston, Texas, 77550.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brookside Funeral Chapel in Houston. Burial is at Brookside Memorial Park.
