Patti Keahey

Apr. 24, 1958 - March 30, 2005

Patti Keahey, age 46 of Cushing died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Pawnee Municipal Hospital. Traditional Wake service will start Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Iowa Complex in Perkins and will continue through Saturday.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Iowa Complex in Perkins. Interment will follow at the Iowa Tribal Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Palmer and Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Patti was born on April 24, 1958 in Tulsa to Amon and Bonnie (Twoguns) Pershall. She grew up in Waynoka, Okla. attending Waynoka Public Schools.

Patti was a member of the Waynoka Christian Church and was baptized as a child. She lived in the Sayre area for many years moving back to Cushing in 1997. Patti enjoyed horses and even trained many race horses. She love camping out and fishing. Patti loved to take care of her many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Patti is survived by her son Jackie Eugene Bradford, Jr. of Enid; daughter Christal Mollett and husband, Robert of Enid; mother Bonnie Pershall and husband Amon Sr. of Cushing; sisters Velinda Gaunt of Pawnee, Dede Weekes of Pawnee; brothers James Twoguns of Cushing, Amon Pershall and wife Natasha of Cushing, Jason Pershall and Brandon Pershall of Cushing; significant other Danny Gibbs of Cushing; grandchildren Tate Mollett, Gage Mollett, Trevor Coulson and Taylor Bramlett; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Patti Keahey, age 46 of Cushing died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Pawnee Municipal Hospital. Traditional Wake service will start Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Iowa Complex in Perkins and will continue through Saturday.

Olen James Wilson

Sept. 28, 1914 - March 9, 2005

Funeral services were held Monday, March 14, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Drumright, for Olen James Wilson. Officiating was Rev. Ben Lacy. Serving as casket bearers were Cam Bookout, Rick Dillard, Joe Paul Robertson, Chief Lorne Guyer, William Hart, and Deputy Chief John Cooper. Interment followed at the Drumright South Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Don Smith Funeral Home.

Olen Wilson died quietly March 9, 2005 after a short illness. Olen was born Sept. 28, 1914 in Love County, Okla. On June 4, 1936, Olen and Irene Aldridge were united in marriage in Anadarko, Okla. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1944. After his discharge, Olen worked in law enforcement most of his working life. Olen and his wife Irene moved to Drumright on April 1, 1960 where he served as Chief of Police until his retirement in 1977.

Olen was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister, seven brothers, one daughter, (Elonna Jo) and his wife, Irene.

Olen was full of fishing stories and gratitude from the communities he served. Olen was admired by all, and will be greatly missed by us, but welcomed home by Irene.

He is survived by his children, Sharon Wilson Jarrell of Drumright; James Olen Wilson of Duncan, Okla.; Janis Larrine Claxton, of Cushing; Gwendolyn Sue Lakey, of Del City; Dallas Valarry Wilson of Cushing; Deborah Irene Leonard of Drumright and step-daughter, Edna Marie Curry; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Bertha Lucille Freeman

May 8, 1921 - March 15, 2005

Bertha Lucille Cunningham Freeman, Cushing resident, died Tuesday at the age of 83.

The daughter of the late Albert Brassfield and Mary Slaughter, Bertha was born on May 8, 1921 in Benton County Ark., and was reared and educated in the Cushing Schools.

She was united in marriage to Larnce Freeman in July of 1953 in Payne County.

Bertha enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and fishing.

Survivors include seven daughters, Lourindia Farmer and her husband Shelby of Baldwin Park, Calif., Lola Bohon of St. Josheph, Mo., Sandra Wolfington of Guthrie, Mary Kiser and her husband Johnny of Schertz, Texas, Margaret Freeman of Cushing, Gladys Wiggs and her husband Gary of Cushing and Barbara Mills and her husband George of Oscoda, Mich.; three sons, Homer Lyon and his wife Nancy of Cushing, Richard Freeman and his wife Nancy of Shawnee, and John Freeman and his wife Candy of Carney; thirty two grandchildren; forty nine great-grandchildren; one brother, John McCrakin; two sisters, Mary Patterson and Minnie Shewmake; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Larnce James Freeman; one brother, Earl Cunningham and two grandchildren, Douglas Dorle and Clara Lyon.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.

Lisa Marie Ray

May 15, 1986 - Dec. 13, 2004

Lisa Marie Ray died Monday.

She was born on May 15, 1986 in Oklahoma City to Larry L. and Barbara Jane (Thomason) Ray. Lisa grew up in Oklahoma and moved to Cushing in 2000. Lisa was a member of the Covenant Fellowship Church where she loved to help Barbara with the children ages 2 and 4.

She was a senior at Cushing High School and active in Vocal Music. At the high school, she enjoyed working with Kathy Smith and the disabled students. Lisa took care of her parents and never complained.

Lisa had high aspirations of attending college and she was on the honor roll. She loved people and she especially liked cats. She was a very loving daughter and sister. Lisa had worked at the Steer Inn almost three years.

Survivors include her parents Larry and Barbara Ray of Cushing, brother Matthew Lee Ray of the home, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, an infant brother Christopher and infant sister Kayla.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday at the Covenant Fellowship Church with burial at the Harrell Cemetery. Pastor Arthur Fox will officiate. Arrangements under the direction of Palmer and Marler Funeral Home of Cushing.

Karen Leigh Emerson

Karen Leigh Emerson, 33, passed away on Dec. 24, 2005 at her home in Drumright. Karen was born on May 6, 1972 to Tommy Moore and Sherrine Moore/McKinney. She attended Oak Grove Elementary School and Stroud High School. Karen enjoyed gardening and ceramics. She was a devoted mother and a very spiritual person, often seen reading her bible. Her daughter, Bethany Emerson, preceded her in death. Karen is otherwise survived by her children, Jordan and Lyndsay of Cushing; her parents Sherrie McKinney and stepfather Michael Avers of Cushing; Tommy Moore and stepmother Michelle Moore of Drumright; one grandfather, Rex Pack of Drumright; her sisters Darcy Goldesberry and Katherine McKinney of Cushing; her brothers Ryan McKinney and Riley Avers of Cushing and Michael Schmidt of Bay St. Louis, Miss. Karen will be greatly missed by numerous family members and friends. Funeral services were held on Dec. 29 at the First Church of God in Cushing.

Wanda Sue Coughran

Funeral services for Wanda Sue Coughran, 67, of Cushing, will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Sonny Johnston will preside. Interment will follow at the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Beckham, Jr., Danny Olguin, Kevin Hiltzmann Jr., Kenny Jones, Jr., Dirk Ridenour and Kevin Burke. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Moore, Larry McEntire, Troy Van Manen, Jack Jones, Kenny Jones and Allen Turner.

Music will include, "Go Rest High on that Mountain", Roses will Bloom Again", and "Serenaded by Angels".

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing.

Mrs. Coughran was born March 2, 1938 in Warner, Okla. to Martin and Nora (Curtis) Jones. She was married to Leonard Coughran on July 3, 1978 in Enid, Okla. Wanda was a nurses aide in the Cushing area. She was a member of the Pentecostal church. Mrs. Coughran was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

She always showed unconditional love to all she met.

Mrs. Coughran passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2005 at the Cushing Regional Hospital.

Survivors include her daughters Cindy Lynn Beckham of Enid, Teresa Bays and husband Rex of Stillwater, Susan Staley and husband Richard of Stillwater; her son Matt Coughran and his wife Janet of Muskogee, three brothers Kenneth Jones, Jack Jones and wife Kay, Dude Jones and wife Mary Lou all of Cushing, sisters Carolyn VanHauen and husband Wayne of Enid and Betty Todd and husband Bobby of Cushing, 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Coughran was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard, brother Jimmie Jones, sister Shirley Ann Parker and by a sister-in-law Kathy Jean Jones.

Hazel H. Grimes

Graveside services for Hazel H. Grimes, 93, of Cushing, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lawson Cemetery, north of Yale. Rev. Ben Lacy will preside.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Bickell, Wayne Niccum, J.B. Niccum, Larry Niccum, Paul Niccum and Paul Vieyra.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing.

Hazel was born July 2, 1912 in Carney to James P. and Maude (Graves) Harris. She was married to Leon Shutley, who died in 1959. Hazel was married to Marvin Grimes in 1960, and he preceded her in death in 1989. Hazel was a homemaker and was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church in

Cushing. She was a Pink Lady at the Cushing Regional Hospital and worked in the snack bar.

Hazel departed this life on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at the Drumright Hospital.

Survivors include sister Alice Niccum of Cushing and numerous nieces, nephews and great and great great nieces and nephews.

Hazel was preceded in death by six brothers and by two sisters.

Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Foundation or to the Diabetes Foundation.

Troy Edmond "Jack" Price

Services for Troy Edmond "Jack" Price, 85, of Stroud, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Stroud, with the Rev. Randal Miller officiating. Burial will be in Stroud Cemetery. Mr. Price, a retired carpenter, died Thursday in Oklahoma City.

He was born Aug. 18, 1920 in Jackson County, Mo., the son of Harvey William and Nancy (Upton) Price. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and he married Sylvia Castoe on Nov. 15, 1947 in Chandler. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Chruch in Prague.

In addition to his widow, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Mike Pope, Duncan; a daughter-in-law, Wilma Price, Chandler; two brothers, Coy Price, Mustang, and Ray Price, Sapulpa; two sisters, Betty Quinn, Prague, and Bell Castoe, Marlow; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a son, a brother and three sisters.

Jacquelyn Wolverton

Jacquelyn Wolverton, age 73 of El Campo, passed away on Jan. 17, 2006. She was born on Feb. 28, 1932 in Pawnee, Okla. to the late John and Angeline LeClaire Crane, She was 1/2 Sac& Fox Indian and 1/4 Pottawatomi, She was a retired legal secretary.

She is survived by her daughter Tommie Ford and husband Al of El Campo; grandchildren Al Ford, Jr. and wife Gretchen of Roundrock, Geoff Ford and wife Susan of Buda; great grandchildren Geoffrey Blake Ford, Corbin Anthony Ford and Zachary Scott Ford; sisters Mary Hammett and husband Jack of Houston and Alberta Staley of Bristow Okla; and brother Johnnie Crane, Sr. and wife Brenda of Cushing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son John Newell Wolverton and a sister Geraldine Adams.

Graveside services will be held in Cushing at the Crane Family Cemetery.

Memorials in memory of Jacquelyn Wolverton may be made to Hospice Support, Inc., P.O. Box 1417, El Campo, Texas 77437.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Triska Funeral Home.
