Terry Dean Henley

Lifelong Seminole resident Terry Dean Henley died Thursday in Seminole. He was 37.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Chapel in Rest Haven Memorial Park under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home with the Rev. Adron Crawford officiating.

Henley was born Nov. 4, 1961, in Oklahoma City to Harold Dean and Sue Carolyn (Seidel) Henley. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma and was a radiographer at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his parents, Harold and Sheryl Henley, Seminole; grandparents, Glen and Mildred Henley, Henryetta; Margaret and Fred Seidel, Moore; stepbrother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Jennifer Kramer, Dallas, Texas; stepsister, Lori Kramer, Okemah; and stepsister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Witek Bycko, Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue Carolyn Henley, on May 22, 1992.

Doris M. Herrin

Doris M. Herrin died Thursday. She was 72.

Mrs. Herrin was born Sept. 20, 1926, in Wellington, Texas, to Luthor and Wilma Maddox. She married John M. Herrin Jr. in 1946.

She moved from Tyler, Texas, to Seminole in 1939. She graduated from Seminole schools and attended the University of Oklahoma. She was co-owner of Herrin's Ladies Ready-to-Wear for 30 years before she retired in 1979.

Mrs. Herrin was active in the Parent Teachers Association and served as Cub Scout den mother. She was the first woman president of the Seminole Chamber of Commerce in 1974.

She served on the City Planning Commission and the Hospital Planning Task Force, was a board member of Operation Pride, the Junior College Fund Drive, the City Beautification Committee and the Community Chest.

Survivors include her sons, John Herrin III, Celina, Texas; David Lynn Herrin, Edmond; grandchildren, Lisa Dorenkamp, Kristin Herrin, and Paul Herrin; and great-grandson, Alex Dorenkamp.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Herrin Jr.; her brothers, Jim, Lowell and Galyn Maddox; and her godparents, M.P. and Mary Sue Loftis.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Blackmon officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Walsie Tomlinson

Longtime Tecumseh resident Walsie Tomlinson died Friday in Shawnee. She was 86.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Chad Fetzer officiating.

Mrs. Tomlinson was born July 24, 1912, in St. Louis to Jesse and Lou (Price) Jordan. She married Jack Tomlinson on March 19, 1931.

She attended grade school at St. Louis and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1931. She was a homemaker and interior decorator and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Thelma and Bruce Hardin, Shawnee; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Jan Tomlinson, Shawnee; Lynn and Virginia Tomlinson and Dick and Janice Tomlinson, all of Tecumseh; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, on Jan. 12, 1982; her son, Glen Tomlinson; sister, Bertha Jordan; brother, Arvie Jordan; and her parents.

Memorials may be made to the Shawnee Cancer Center, 1102 W. MacArthur, Shawnee, Okla. 74804.

Gilbert Wiley

Gilbert Wiley of Meeker died Tuesday at his home. He was 74.

He was born April 9, 1924, in Gilbert, Ariz., to Arthur and Stella (Hurtt) Wiley.

He was married to Betty Jean Armitage on Jan. 24, 1947, in Chandler. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Pacific Gas and Electric in California for over 30 years before retiring and moving back to Meeker in 1979.

His parents, five brothers, one sister, one daughter, Linda Guptill and one granddaughter, Barbara Jean Guptill, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Wiley of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Bonnie Wiley of Meeker; two daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Michael Baptista of Meeker; Debra and Michael Austin of Meeker; a brother and sister-in-law, Dewey and Helen Wiley of Tracy, Calif.; one sister, Evelyn Hambright of Nevada; four grandsons, one granddaughter, five great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Morning Star Church in Meeker with burial at Rossville Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Jinks officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Chandler.

James Clyde Bratcher

Lifelong Shawnee resident James Clyde Bratcher died Wednesday at his home. He was 83.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home with J.D. Cunningham officiating.

Bratcher was born Sept. 28, 1915, in Tuttle to James Albert and Martha (Wortman) Bratcher. He married Lorene Davidson in Shawnee on Jan. 17, 1942.

He attended Thackerville schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the EAME Campaign Medal with four Bronze Stars. He served as an Army Technician Fifth Grade with the Service Company, 707th Tank Battalion during World War II. He worked for Sears Roebuck and Company for 40 years before retiring in 1978.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Bratcher, Shawnee; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Geary Thompson, Dale; Nancy and Mark Emerson, Choctaw; grandchildren, Tricia and Dan Mixson, Harrah; Chris Cullins, Shawnee; Kacey Thompson, McLoud; three great-grandsons; sisters, Lena Koonce, Thackerville; Mildred Hudson, Marietta; Lois Rouse, Marietta; sister-in-law, Viola Irvin, Oklahoma City; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and two brothers.

Memorials may be made to Hospice or cancer research.

Mary Naomi Ward

Former Stroud resident Mary Naomi Ward died Tuesday in Cushing. She was 72.

Mrs. Ward was born Oct. 27, 1926, in Shamrock to Robert E. and Anna Mae (Ricks) Brittain. She married A.D. "Jap" Ward in Stroud on May 22, 1942.

She was a homemaker and had lived in Drumright for the past six years. She was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church in Stroud.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and LaVonna Ward, Cushing; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Rusty Huff, Drumright; Beverly and Don Saliba, Drumright; brothers, R.L. Brittian, Great Bend, Kan.; Orval Brittian, Griffin, Ga.; sister, Loeva Neff, Great Bend, Kan.; seven grandchildren,Mike, Rick, Kristi, Crystal, Kelly, Kim and Brooke; nine great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, on Aug. 10, 1973; her parents, one sister, two brothers and one great-grandson, Cael Westen Harrison.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Assembly of God Church, Stroud, with the Rev. Don Wilburn and Rev. Robert Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Stroud.

Mary Davidson

Mary Davidson of Shawnee died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was 96.

She was born April 4, 1902, in Moore to Joe and Katie (Schoellgen) Dickerson. She was employed at JCPenney in Pauls Valley for many years.

She married Ralph Davidson on Feb. 14, 1921, in Shawnee, and lived in Shawnee most of her life.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and her husband on March 24, 1972.

Surviving are her cousins, James and Evelyn DeMoss of California; close friends, Ed and Mary Cagle of Meeker.

Graveside services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Bert I. Cherry officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Johnie Christella Barnett

Johnie Christella Barnett of McLoud died Wednesday. She was 86.

She was born Jan. 18, 1913, to J.W. and Francis Freeman in Shilo, Ark. She was a dietitian and a member of the McLoud Pentecostal Holiness Church. She married Fred on May 25, 1928, in Lindsey.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 4, 1988; her parents, 10 sisters, and one brother.

She is survived by one son, Fred and Darla Barnett of McLoud; one daughter, Rose Ann and Larry Lasater of Blanchard; grandchildren, William D. Lasater; Fred F. Barnett II; Mark Lasater, Tina Richardson, Geary Lasater, Penny Gabel, Brian Lasater, Jayson Bucy; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Sam Freeman of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Konawa Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pottawatomie County.

Cynthia Lee Burgess

Cynthia Lee Burgess of Oklahoma City died Monday at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was 39.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lasley/Coker Family Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burgess was born Jan. 13, 1960, in Seminole to Russell Crink Burgess and Majorie Dayton. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her father, Russell Burgess, Shawnee; three sons, Brandon Lee Bradford and Anthony Bradford, both of Oklahoma City; Tazman Brannon, Earlsboro; two daughters, Victoria Levon Bradford, Oklahoma City; Marquita Brannon, Earlsboro; and her sister, Sherry Burgess, Dexter, N.M.

Lavona Jane Kreie

Lavona Jane Kreie, 64, Shawnee, died Friday at a local hospital.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. today with the Rev. John Coker officiating. Burial will be in Blackburn Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

She was born April 27, 1935, in Bethel Acres to Marion E. and Bessie (Clay) McCabe. She attended Bethel School. She was a retired nurse's aide who worked at area hospitals. She was a member of Blackburn Chapel Church.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Edith Kreie, Shawnee; son, Mark Wallace Sinclair, Spokane, Wash.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cleta Love, Tecumseh, Melba June and Wilford Petricek, McLoud, Helen and Royce Beaty, Perryville, Ark., and Barbara and Paul Thomas, Sperry; brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Nellie McCabe and Ralph and Ollie McCabe, all of Bethel Acres; and granddaughter, Racheal LeeAnn Kreie, Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Marlys F. Wiese

Marlys F. Wiese, 87, died Thursday in Oklahoma City.

She was born on March 13, 1912, in Little Rock, Iowa, to Carl and Anna (Michelke) Koopman.

She married Harry A. Wiese Sr., on Aug. 12, 1931, in Madison, S.D. They moved to Chandler after retiring in 1969. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Chandler.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979; her parents, three sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Harry A. and Maxine Wiese, Chandler; sister, Ann Ghyst, Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, Chandler, with the Rev. Hugh Willoby officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler.

Sandra June Baker

Sandra June Baker, 30, died Thursday at her Paden home.

She was born Feb. 18, 1969, in Shawnee to John Mayfield and Linda (Cole) Upton.

She was a member of the Free Pentecostal Church, Sparks. She married Ronny Baker on July 7, 1988 in Chandler.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harland and Inez Cole and paternal grandfather, Harmon Mayfield; brother, Gary Mayfield; and daughter, Alisha Renee Baker.

Survivors include her husband of the home; son, Michael Baker of the home; father and stepmother, John and Betty Mayfield, Wellston; mother and stepfather, Linda and Carl Upton, Paden; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tommy and Helen Baker, Paden; and paternal grandmother, Thelma Mayfield, Paden.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Paden, with the Rev. Brett Allen officiating. Burial will be in Paden Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague.
