Malvin LeRoy Shamblin

Malvin LeRoy "Bud" Shamblin of rural Tecumseh died Tuesday.

His funeral will be 2 p.m. today at High Point Cemetery near Weatherford under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Kitty Abernathy Eberhart

Kitty Abernathy Eberhart died Sunday. She was 93.

Survivors include her daughter, Deloris Morris, Sand Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Norma Jean and Bert Lunsford, Aurora, Colo.; three grandchildren, Ronnie Schulten, Memphis, Tenn.; Terri Ann Lunsford, Lakewood, Colo.; Bart Lunsford and his wife Jeaninne, Alvoro, Texas; four great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine Ford, Holdenville; sister and brother-in-law, Gertrude and Meredith Robinson, Holdenville; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Meredith Robinson, Leon Jennings and Richard Dickinson officiating. Burial will be in Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Kathryn Speak McArthur

Former Shawnee resident Kathryn Speak McArthur died April 26 at her home in Watonga. She was 89.

She was born Dec. 28, 1909, in Longview, Texas, to William A. and Ellen Brady Speak. She married Arthur McArthur on July 29, 1949, in Albuquerque, N.M. She worked for many years in the telephone industry.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 22, 1981.

Services were held April 28 in Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church with the Rev. David True officiating. Burial was in Watonga IOOF Cemetery.

Donna Odessie Kepler

Lifelong Seminole resident Donna Odessie (Self) Kepler died Saturday at a Midwest City hospital. She was 62.

Mrs. Kepler was born Jan. 6, 1937, in Maud to Odell Lafayette Self and Jessie Lena (Martin) Self. She married William "Bill" Hugh Kepler on Dec. 18, 1954, in Seminole.

She was a homemaker and taught Sunday School. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Letha.

Survivors include her mother, Jessie Self, Seminole; husband, Bill Kepler, Seminole; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Marilyn Kepler, Seminole; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Dennis Clagg, Seminole; Arlene and Allen Broadie, Kansas; sisters, Lora Jean Beach and Sue Sims, both of Seminole; brother, Harold Self, Seminole; grandchildren, Ryan, Lee, Elisha, Zachery, David, Lori and Leigh Broadie; Donald and Tammy Clagg; Michael Cruson; Bethany Grabner; great-grandchildren, Delaney and Joseph Broadie and Riley Grabner.

She was preceded in death by her father, Odell Self; and an infant sister, Mary Lena.

Services were 10 a.m. Tuesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Cline officiating. Burial will be in Cummings Cemetery, Maud.

Memorials may be made to to Trinity Baptist Church for the Donna Kepler Falls Creek Fund.

Pauline Love

Shawnee resident Pauline Love died Monday in Oklahoma City. She was 83.

Mrs. Love was born March 6, 1916, in St. Louis to Izetta Hathcock and Lester Hathcock. She was a longtime resident of Konawa.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Jr. and Willa Love, Oklahoma City; Ben and Bonnie Love, Meeker; sons, Jerry Love, Konawa; Tim Love, Cement; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; three sons, Don, Jack and Len Love; two sisters and one brother.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home with the Rev. Pam Shirk officiating.

Eva Pitts

Midwest City resident Eva Pitts died Monday in Midwest City. She was 71.

Mrs. Pitts was born Aug. 3, 1927, in Ironton, Minn., to August and Mae Jangala Timo. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Pitts, of the home; children, Joy A. Vernon, Harrah; Bruce D. Green, Hollister, Calif.; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Lila Breole, Bryon Timo, Darwin Timo, Duane Timo and Ilona Derass, all of Minnesota; Sharon Bridges, California; and Virginia McDonald, Nevada.

Memorial services are 10 a.m. today at Asa Smith Funeral Chapel, Harrah, with Chaplain Bill Derrick officiating. Cremains will be buried at a later date.

Laura L. McKinney

Shawnee resident Laura L. McKinney died Monday at a local nursing home. She was 87.

Mrs. McKinney was born May 21, 1911, in Little, Okla., to A.B. and Katie (Cochran) Burt. She married Roy H. McKinney Dec. 14, 1940, in Sulphur.

She moved to Shawnee in 1922 and graduated from Shawnee High School. She was the owner of House of Flowers from 1947 to 1952 and was the owner and operator of Ideal Beauty Shop from 1953 until she retired.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jennifer McKinney, Oklahoma City; grandson, Clifford Land, Westwego, La.; grandson and wife, Roy and Cindy McKinney, Yukon; and three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cheyenne and Colin McKinney.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1963.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with Dr. Paul Calmes and the Rev. W.F. "Bill" Crow officiating. Burial will be in Little Cemetery.

Noah Kirkpatrick Fish Jr.

Del City resident Noah Kirkpatrick Fish Jr. died because of injuries he received in the May 3 tornado. He was 67.

Fish was born Aug. 23, 1931, in Holdenville to Noah K. Fish Sr. and Elizabeth (Coker) Fish.

He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and a Mason. He graduated from San Francisco State University with a bachelor's degree. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1972 after 21 years of service, including service in Vietnam. He also retired from the Indian Health Service.

Survivors include three daughters, Chelsea Fish, of the home; Teresa Longhorn, Shawnee; Stacy Van Vliet, Rosehill, Calif.; son, Noah K. Fish, Rosehill, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Gabriel, Stuart and Lindsey Longhorn, all of Shawnee; Patrick and Amber Fish and Rebekah, Megan and Donald Van Vliet, all of Rosehill, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Chasity and Gabriel Longhorn, Shawnee; and a sister, Exie Fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernice Fish; and a sister, Shirley Fish.

Services were held at 10 a.m. May 8 at Glorieta Baptist Church. Burial followed at Sunny Lane Cemetery under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.

Martin Walton

Martin Walton of Meeker died Monday. He was 86.

He was born Nov. 8, 1912, in Lady Lake Fla., to William Luther and Norman (Draughty) Walton. He attended Okmulgee Elementary and High School.

On June 8, 1945, he married Esther Mae Wilson in Yuma, Ariz. She preceded him death in August 1988.

He spent his childhood in Drumright then moved to Okmulgee, where he had made his home for 75 years.

He retired from Ball Glass Company in Okmulgee. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Okmulgee Assembly of God.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, James B. Walton of Meeker and Dickie D. and Connie J. Walton of Meeker; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday at Sunny Side Cemetery in Meeker with Glen Walters officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.

Teresa Gayle Faulkner

Teresa Gayle Faulkner, 32, died Monday.

She was born in Drumright on Oct. 6, 1966, to William L. and Donna G. (Pinion) Dingman. She was a resident of Stroud for most of her life and worked as a truck driver with her husband. She married Don Faulkner in Stroud on Oct. 29, 1982.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Donna, and grandfather, Andrew Pinion.

Surviving are her husband, Don, of the home; one son, David Ray Faulkner of Stroud; two step-sons, Ronald Dale Faulkner of California; Dewayne Rees of California; one daughter, Dawn Renea Faulkner of Stroud; one step-daughter, Brenda Sue Moler of California; two brothers, William L. Dingman Jr. of Shawnee; Timothy B. Dingman of Davenport; one step-brother, John S. Hodges of Kendrick, Okla.; two sisters, Sheila Green of Louisiana.; Mary S. Dingman of Kendrick; father and step-mother, William L. and Roberta Dingman of Kendrick; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Kendrick Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Stroud.

Byron Patrick Freeman

Byron Patrick Freeman of Lima died Saturday in a house fire with his father. He was 30.

He was born Jan. 14, 1969, in Ft. Gordon, Calif.

Surviving are his brothers, Stanley Freeman of Baltimore, Md.; Franklin Freeman of Seminole; Andre Freeman of Wewoka; sisters Sara Freeman Salbego of St. Louis, Mo.; Clydetta Freeman of Oklahoma City, Avril Freeman of Oklahoma City; Sharon Starnes of Seminole; and Audrey Lewis of Orlando, Fla.

He was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Tri-City Christian Center in Seminole with the Rev. John W. Forbes III officiating. Burial is at Lima Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Myers Mortuary.

Clyde Edwin Freeman

Clyde Edwin Freeman died Saturday in a house fire. He was 81.

He was born April 28, 1918, and lived in Lima for 57 years. He was a member of the Army for 29 years and worked in the New Lima School System for 20 years. He was a member of the Mt. Zion AME Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Sara Freeman Salbego of St. Louis, Mo.; Clydetta Freeman of Oklahoma City; Sharon Starnes of Seminole; Audrey Lewis of Orlando, Fla.; Avril Freeman of Oklahoma City; sons, Stanley Freeman of Baltimore, Md.; Franklin Freeman of Seminole; Andre Freeman of Wewoka; a brother, Franklin Freeman of Shawnee; a sister, Celestine Brown of Oklahoma City; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Tri-City Christian Center in Seminole with Rev. John W. Forbes III officiating. Burial is at Lima Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Myers Mortuary.

A.J. (Jerrold) Lowe

A.J. (Jerrold) Lowe of Shawnee died Tuesday in Norman. He was 94.

He was born Oct. 6, 1905, in Marlow to Andrew Jackson and Martha D. (Bledsoe) Lowe. He graduated from high school and Landig College of Mortuary Science in Houston, Texas.

He was a retired funeral director and embalmer for Gaskill Funeral Chapel. He came to Shawnee in 1924 to work for W.E. Gaskill and retired in 1990.

He married June Burk March 1, 1942, in Holdenville. He was a member of the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945, serving 22 months in European Theatre as staff sergeant at the time of discharge. He served with the 50th General Hospital in U.S. Army.

He was a member of the Central Church of Christ, American Legion Post No. 16, receiving his 50-year pin in 1995. He also received his 50-year pin from the Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association in 1995.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Surviving are his wife, June, Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Ben Salter of Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Susan Lowe of Shawnee; four grandchildren, Sara and Jon Salter and Lisa and Leslie Lowe; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with Robert Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
