Doll Gennie Ray

McLoud resident Doll Gennie Ray died Wednesday at a local nursing home. She was 89.

She was born Jan. 5, 1911, in Pulaski, Tenn., to James and Virgie Garner Harwell.

She married Sam Ray April 29, 1937, in Poteau. He preceded her in death April 26, 1967. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, two sisters and two children, Sammie Gene Ray and Jewel Dean Ray.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Velma and Bailey McDaniel, Shawnee, and Belvia and Charles Boland, McLoud; grandchildren and their spouses, Anita and Terrell Cameron, Gore, Dr. Dean and Kim McDaniel, Victoria, Texas, Gena and Greg Patterson, McLoud, and Johnny and Bambi Austin, McLoud; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Birdie Barr, Pulaski, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. DuWayne Colvin. Burial will be at Dale Cemetery.

Bernard King

Bernard "B.W." King, 80, Edmond, died Tuesday in Edmond.

He was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Avant to Zeb and Bertha King.

He married Una Hembree May 19, 1956.

King was shift foreman for Shell Oil Co. and a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Una King, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Laura King, Edmond; sister, Bernice Holloway, Sapulpa; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond with Ed Lobaugh officiating. Burial will be at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.

Memorials may be made to the National World War II Memorial Fund.

Hazel T. Morrow

Hazel T. Morrow, 86. died Wednesday at a Kingfisher hospital.

She was born July 27, 1913, in Okfuskee County to Thomas Benjamin Ras and Florence (Twigg) Rash.

She married Harley Arthur Morrow in Okfuskee County.

Mrs. Morrow was preceded in death by her parents, husband of many years, one daughter, four sisters and one brother.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobbie Joe and Juanita Morrow, Sand Springs, Harley Dean and Lauretta Morrow, Bakersfield, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Hallo Jean and Van Shults, Kingfisher, and Wanda and Lester Rutland, Sand Springs; sister, Lilly Gormley,Okemah; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Gravesides services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Morse Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Clay officiating under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah.

Paul Rigby

Paul Rigby, 74, Milpitas, Calif., died Sunday in San Jose, Calif.

He was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Konawa to William Bryan and Laura Lee (Bozarth) Rigby. He married Edna Burton.

Rigby attended Tarter Schools. He was raised near Konawa and moved to California in 1942. He lived in the Santa Clara Valley since 1955 and lived in Milpitas, Calif., for more than 20 years.

He was an operating engineer in California. He joined the U.S. Army and served in World War II. While in the Army, he received two Bronze Stars.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Paul Rigby; his parents; one sister, Clara Mae Stacey; and three brothers, Roy, Malvis and Garland Rigby.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Rigby, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Robbie Alford, Harrah; son, Andy Rigby, Milpitas, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law, Racheal and James Hopper, Montana; four grandchildren, David Gwin, Darlene Lewis, Tony Gwin and Robbie Lynn Alford; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Tecumseh Cemetery with the Rev. John Mixon, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Family and friends will gather at 9 a.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home.

Jessie Rose Phillips

Jessie Rose Phillips died Wednesday in an Oklahoma City hospital. She was 67.

Mrs. Phillips was born Nov. 10, 1932, in Bearden, to Benjamin Franklin "B.J." and Beryl Marie (Dunn) Morris.

She married J.B. Phillips. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jay Phillips; three brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include her three brothers, Bill Morris, Cromwell; Frank and Debbie Morris, Okemah; Ralph Morris, Odessa, Texas; two sisters, Eva Lee Grace, Holdenville; and Vera and Raymond Desjarlais, Fletcher.

Private services will be held.

John W. Fife

John W. Fife, Shawnee, died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was 76.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park.

He was born Aug. 27, 1922, in Mexia, Texas, to John Thomas Fife and Mary Johnson Fife. He married Florence Nose on Aug. 19, 1945, in Groesbeck, Texas.

He had served in the U.S. Army 110th Infantry, 28th Division, in the European Theater of Operations during World War II.

He lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, before moving to Shawnee nine years ago. He was manager for Sun Oil Co., retiring in 1988 after 18 years of service.

He also had worked for 20 years as supervisor for Southern Minerals of Corpus Christi. He was a member of the American Legion, Nueces County, Texas, Trailriders Association and the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Tulsa.

Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are his wife, Florence Fife, Shawnee; daaughter and son-in-law, Martha and Harold Buehring, Norman; brother, Aubrey Reid Fife, Skidmore, Texas; sister, Margaret Yarborough, Mexia, Texas; grandchildren and their spouses, Marla and Michael Mendoza, Halletsville, Texas; Paula and Jon Waller, Ardmore; John Bruce, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, five great-grandchildren and many other relatives.

Margaret Wright

Margaret Wright, Norman, died Feb. 25 in an Oklahoma City hospital at the age of 56.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Russ Martin officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.

She was born Feb. 2, 1943, in Oakland, Calif., the daughter of Wilbur and Elanor Wilhelmine Adsit Hinkle. She was reared in Oakland and graduated from Oakland High School.

She had lived in Oklahoma from 1971 to 1996 when she moved to Bay City, Mich. She had returned to Norman. She had been employed with General Motors for 20 years.

Surviving are her sons, Tim Shannon, Norman; Matthew Jerad Wright, Bay City, Mich.; daughter, Tracie Lynn Pugh, Licking, Mo.; sisters, Susan Shephard, Oklahoma City; Jeannie Conley, Davenport; Anna Mae Hart, Winters, Calif.; Cecelia Baldwin, Kokomo, Ind.; brother, Tim Higgins, Tryon, and grandchildren, Tyler Pugh, Dalton Pugh, Alexandria Pugh, Victoria Pugh and Cherokee Pugh.

Carolyn Marie Clowers

Carolyn Marie Clowers died at her home near Prague at the age of 53.

She was born Oct. 14, 1945, in Los Angeles, Calif., the daughter of George Burling and Esther (Irons) Burling Ayers. She married Arthur Clowers on Feb. 11, 1964, and they moved from Bremerton, Wash., to the Prague area in 1995.

She worked in nursing home medical records and also at the Prague School cafeteria. She was a member of First Christian Church, Prague.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Jerry.

Surviving are her husband, Arthur Clowers, of the home; one son, Matthew Clowers, Bremerton, Wash.; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Joe Pat Smith Jr. Silverdale, Wash.; her mother, Esther Ayers; her second family, Hazel and Everett Coontz, Cherokee; Tommy Pullan, Fairview; Janie Cates, Mannford; Glenda Halper, Fredonia, Kan., eight grandchildren and many other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, Prague, with the Rev. Curtis Reynolds officiating.

Rosa Lee Niles Echard

Rosa Lee Niles Echard, Charlotte, N.C., died Thursday at her residence. She was 60.

She was born Nov. 16, 1938, in Shawnee to Walter Frank Niles and the late Nora Lee Clark Niles.

She was a member of Idlewild Christian Church and a member of S.T.C. and received the associate fellow honor from S.T.C.

Surviving include her husband, Hurley Echard; three daughters, Diana Combs and husband, Gregory, Harrisburg; Monica Nicholson and husband, Mike, Arvada, Colo.; and Loretta Brose and husband, Kevin, Longmont, Colo.; her father, Walter Frank Niles, Shawnee; two brothers, James Walter Niles, Palestine, Texas; Franklin Niles, Dallas, Texas; and eight grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 E. Seventh St., Charlotte, NC 28209.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Idlewild Christian Church with the Rev. Tim Powell officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens.

Arrangements are under the direction of McEwen Funeral Service.

Emory Clarence Greenfield

Chandler resident Emory Clarence Greenfield died Wednesday in Chandler. He was 82.

Greenfield was born Aug. 13, 1916, in Chandler to Earl and Lavina (Westover) Greenfield. He married Leola Orr on Sept. 15, 1951, in Chandler.

He was in the Army Air Corps during World War II and worked at Tinker Air Force Base for many years. He was also a farmer and raised cattle in Lincoln County.

Survivors include his wife, Leola Greenfield, of the home; son, Gene Greenfield, Shawnee; three daughters, Diana Camren, Agra; Jan Greenfield, Chandler; Jill Winkler, Noel, Mo.; sister, Myrtle Wright, Tryon; three grandchildren, Kevin Camren, Lori Camren, Justin Greenfield; and one great-grandchild, Trent Camren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the First Born in Parkland, Okla., with Louis Wright and Fred Britton officiating. Burial will be at Parkland Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler.

Willie Henry Brown

Willie Henry "Bill" Brown died Monday at his home in Seminole at the age of 67.

He was born July 8, 1931, in Shawnee.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Novella Boatman; brother, Leon Ray Brown, and daughters, Kathy Brown and Judy Romano.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Brown, of the home; son, Billy "Bill" Brown, Seminole; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky Sullivan, California; Debbie and Max Fairchild, Oklahoma City; Cheryl and John Janes, Holdenville; Fred Romano, Texas; grandchildren, Shannon Moslander, Zack Romano, Nick Janes, Jon Romano, Aleschia Ritter, Megan Janes; two great-grandchildren Kaleb Moslander and Abigail Ritter; his father, Zeke Boatman, Shawnee; brothers, Frank Boatman, Jack Boatman; Pete Boatman, Joe Boatman, and sister, Betty Sue Boyce.

Services were Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Seminole with burial at Little Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Snyder officiated.

LaHoma Juliet Walker

LaHoma Juliet Walker died Wednesday. She was 67.

She was born March 8, 1931 in Avery, Okla., to Norwood and Anna Mathews Masquat. She was a homemaker.

Surviving include her children, Gregory Walker, Yukon; Monty Walker, Shawnee; Janice Spears, Oregon; Vicki Cano, Leah Walker, Anna Walker and Kelly Walker, Oklahoma City; brother and sisters, Norwood Masquat Jr., Jodi Marquette, Virginia York, Frances Butler, and Shirley Salway.

Tribal rites will be held at the home of Henrietta Walker, northeast of McLoud, with burial in the Walker Family Cemetery on Saturday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service of Harrah.
