Dollie Fouquet

Dollie Fouquet, 95, died Saturday at her Sparks home.

The daughter of C.D. and Rosa Bell (Worden) Deffenbaugh was born in Sparks on April 28, 1906.

She was a homemaker.

Fouquet was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge at Prague.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Genese Fouquet; parents; three brothers; and son, Joe Don Fouquet.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ola Bon and Charlotte Fouquet of Sparks; granddaughters, Teresa Miller of Blanchard, Vicki Newman of Sparks and Genise Fridrich of Prague; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Prague. The Rev. Steve Roach will officiate. Burial will follow at Prague Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague.

William D. Moore

Harrah resident William D. "Billy" Moore died Friday. He was 54.

Moore was born Nov. 12, 1944, to Dorothy and David Moore. He was a 1962 graduate of Midwest City High School.

He served with the First Cavalry in Vietnam, where he received the Purple Heart. He worked for General Motors until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Drenda; daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany and Jeff Hanlon and Heather and Neil Wildman; mother, Dorothy Moore, Midwest City; sister, Linda Waggoner, Florida; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Hedges; three grandchildren, Jakob, Ashlyn and Colten; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service, Harrah.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation's Heart and Lung Association and the First Baptist Church of Harrah.

Billie Jo McLeskey

Shawnee resident Billie Jo McLeskey died Wednesday. She was 58.

Mrs. McLeskey was born Jan. 29, 1941, in Milan, Kan., to Francis Spradlin and Evelyn Squires Spradlin.

Survivors include her children, Toni and Kenny Robb, Bruce and Hayley McLeskey, Anita and Alan Stafford; grandchildren, Jerry R. Biggers, Tabatha R. Biggers, Michel McLeskey, Rachele McLeskey, Jennifer Wells and Dalton R. Stafford; father, Francis Spradlin; sister, Berl Allen Townsend.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Squires Spradling; and her brother, Norvell Spradlin.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Oak Park Church of God with the Rev. LeRoy Kerbo officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore. A reception will follow. For more information call 275-1775.

Lanelle M. Berry

Tecumseh resident Lanelle M. "Lynne" Berry died April 2 in Tecumseh. She was 30.

She was born May 18, 1968, at Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Sherman F. and Diane M. (Bruner) Berry.

She attended Turpin High School and had lived in Tecumseh for the past three years. She was a member of the Central Christian Church, Liberal, Kan.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon Fields, Tecumseh; two sons, Mathew Lewis Berry and Zachary Norton Fields, both of Tecumseh; two daughters, Heather Louise Fields and Makayla LuAnn Fields, both of Tecumseh; mother and stepfather, Diane and Neal Heiers, Liberal, Kan.; father and stepmother, Sherman "Red" and Ramona Berry, Canton; brother, Danny Wayne Berry, Council Bluffs, Iowa; three sisters, Rozan Lee Driver, Council Bluffs, Iowa; Maria Lynn Weaver, Liberal, Kan.; Monica Kay Points, Dallas, Texas; and grandparents, Stanley and Audrey Bruner, Council Bluffs, Iowa; uncles and aunts, Wayne and Jan Berry, Shawnee; Wayde and Barbara Berry and Ollie Parks, all of Tecumseh.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Central Christian Church in Liberal with the Rev. David Woods officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Miller Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the Lanelle M. Berry Memorial Fund, in care of Citizens State Bank, or left at the funeral home.

John Dewey Jordan

John Dewey Jordan, 90, Shawnee, died Monday at a local nursing home.

He was born May 22, 1910, in Dierks, Ark., to Henry Austin Jordan and Alice (Cummings) Jordan. At age 12, he moved to Texas and later to Colorado before returning to Shawnee in 1924.

He was an auto mechanic and owner of Dewey Jordan's Garage of Harrison Street in Shawnee.

He married Jewell T. Dunkin Oct. 3, 1931, in Shawnee. He married Mildred Jewel Bradley on March 5, 1991, in Shawnee.

He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church of Shawnee.

Preceding him in death were his parents, both wives, one daughter, Joy Loretta Hendon, and one granddaughter, Jerri Lynn Newby.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry L. and Lois Jordan of Shawnee; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jean Jordan Newby and Harold Newby of Chandler; Lynn Hill of Shawnee; seven grandchildren, Kent Hendon, Johnny Hendon, Gary Don Jordan, Lisa and Jeff Wright, Jordan Hill and Jacintha Hill; five great-grandchildren; brother, Sam Jordan of Midwest City; sister and brother-in-law, Nellie and Howard Good of Corpus Christi, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family has designated Hospice of Shawnee as appropriate for memorials.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Glen Pence officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.

The casket will remain open until service time, but will not be opened afterward.

Barbara Ann Stovall

Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Stovall of Yukon died Sunday at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was 63.

The former Wanette resident was born Oct. 16, 1937, in Ninnekah to O.K. "Jack" Irvin and Anna Juanita Heath. She was raised in Ninnekah and lived most of her life in Oklahoma and California.

She married Kenneth Stovall on May 15, 1955, in Ninnekah. In 1972, she began working with her husband as a business partner in the transportation industry.

She was a member of the Wanette First Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her father, O.K. "Jack" Irwin and an infant brother, Reese Marland.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Stovall of the home; her mother, Anna Juanita Irwin of Woodward; two daughters and a son-in-law, Laquita Stovall of Chatsworth, Calif.; Julia Anna and Andrew Monroe of Yukon; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Ken Stovall of Watonga, Keith Stovall of Wanette, Kevin and Donna Aaron of Guymon; grandchildren, Aaron and Arielle Baker of Chatsworth, Calif., Scott and Sheldon Stovall of El Paso, Texas, Joshua and Kyle Stovall of Bakersfield, Calif., Brandy Grubbel of Stillwater, Candice Merchant of Amarillo, Texas, and a set of twin grandchildren soon to be born; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack. O. and Sue Irwin of Mutual, Okla., A.D. and Barbara Irwin of Woodward and Carl and Carol Irwin of El Reno; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sonja and Terry Peach of Mutual, Okla., and Neta Irwin and Rick LaGuardia of Phoenix, Ariz., and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Wanette with the Rev. H.E. "Spook" Whitener officiating. Burial will follow in Ninnekah Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha.

Mabel C. Williams

Mabel C. Williams of Shawnee died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was 78.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Moore and Dr. Larry Adams officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Other arrangements will be announced by Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Wilver Dornel ³Willie² Stargell

All-Star baseball player Wilver Dornel ³Willie² Stargell, 61, died April 9 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C.

He was born March 6, 1940, in Earlsboro.

One of baseballıs greatest home run hitters in numbers and distance, Stargell hit 475 home runs and was a cleanup batter for most of his career, helping the Pittsburgh Pirates win the World Series championship and National League Pennant in 1971 and six National League titles from 1970 to 1979. He was a seven-time All-Star player and was the franchise leader in homers, RBIs and extra-base hits.

Affectionately known as ³Pops,² Stargell was a described as leader on field and off. His ³Stargell Stars² was a rallying force behind the championship series in 1979.

For nearly 30 years, Stargell was the only player to hit a ball out of Dodger Stadium, not once but twice. His best season was 1971 with 48 home runs and 125 RBIs, but Willie Stargell is remembered as the one-man act of 1979.

On Feb. 11, 1997, Stargell returned to the Piratesı organization as special assistant to general manager Cam Bonafay. He recently was named special adviser to Kevin McClatchey, CEO of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He was narrator for several symphonies, most recently the Pittsburgh Symphony in October. The same weekend Stargell threw out the final pitch in Three Rivers Stadium, he performed two sell-out shows.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Weller-Stargell; five children and their spouses, Wendy Stargell, Claremont, Calif.; Precious Stargell, Dawn (Stargell) and Jason Moore, Wilver Jr. and Nicole Stargell, all of Atlanta, Ga., and Kelli Stargell, Herndon, Va.; grandchildren Cody, Derrick, Cheyenne, Dakota and Jamar; his mother, Gladys Russell; his sister, Sandrus Collier; his mother-in-law, Katherine Weller; sisters-in-law, Katherine Bell Moore and Frances Weller; special cousins, Jonathan Stargell and Jay Hunt, and many others.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paulıs Episcopal Church, Wilmington, N.C., with the Rev. Joseph Cooper officiating. The family will receive friends at 8 p.m. Friday at the Church of the Servant in Wilmington. Arrangements are under the direction of Andrews Market Street Chapel, Wilmington.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or other charity.

James D. Pemberton

Services for former Seminole resident James D. ³Jim² Pemberton, 76, Corpus Christi, Texas, are set for 2 p.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Seminole.

His grandson Ron Fisher will officiate and burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Pemberton died Sunday at a Texas Hospital.

At age 15, Pemberton joined the U.S. Army and served in the First Calvary overseas. While serving his country, Pemberton received the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one Bronze Star, the EAME Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars, the America Defense Service Medal and a medal for good conduct.

He became a Christian in 1973 at the First Baptist Church in Healdton. He was a member of the Padre Island Baptist Church in Corpus Christ.

Pemberton worked for BJ-Hughes Services for 31 years and after retiring, made his home in Corpus Christi.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pemberton is survived by his wife of 27 years, Dorothy Fisher Pemberton. He is also survived by one brother, Charles Pemberton, Seminole, one sister, Willetta Sparks, Fort Gibson, five children Ron, Larry, Rick, Vicki and Gayla; 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

S.T. McNutt

Services for S. T. McNutt, 83, Shawnee, are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Central Church of Christ, 10th and Bell.

Don Sullivan will officiate and burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. McNutt died Monday at a local hospital.

Other information is pending. Resthaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Claude Burl Drake

Claude Burl Drake, Shawnee, died Tuesday in a local hospital at the age of 85.

He was born Feb. 25, 1916, in Arkansas, the son of Lucas Leander and Minnie Ethel (Best) Drake. Drake and Marie Inez Bailey were married Dec. 12, 1941, in Stratford.

A retired Tinker Air Force Base machinist, Drake moved from Oklahoma City to Shawnee 14 years ago. Drake owned and operated a filling station for a number of years.

Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Paul Willis of Shawnee; two stepdaughters, Loritta Stanley of Okmulgee and Hazel Pruitt of Muskogee; a son, Royce Drake of Madill; and two brothers, Leo Drake of Oklahoma City and Billie Drake of Moore. He also is survived by 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Drake and the Rev. Tommy Drake officiating. Burial will be in McGee Cemetery.

Betty Marie Cook

Betty Marie Cook, 67, Stroud, died Tuesday in Stroud.

The daughter of Arthur and Blanche (Kathy) McClendon was born Dec. 11, 1932, in Coleman, Texas. She moved from Texas to Stroud in 1962.

Mrs. Cook, a member of the First Baptist Church in Stroud, was a sewing machine operator.

She and Gerald L. Cook were married Dec. 15, 1956, in Austin.

Preceding her in death were her husband and parents.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Teresa Cook of Mandeville, La., and John and Dorothy Cook of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Janet Lovejoy of Stroud and Marilyn Lovejoy of Pawhuska; three brothers, Carl McClendon of Austin; Charles McClendon of Round Rock, Texas, and Ralph McClendon of San Marcus, Texas; three grandchildren and many other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Stroud with the Rev. Burl Mackey officiating. Burial will be in Stroud Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Stroud.
