Shannon Sherrill

Shannon Sherrill died Sunday in Meeker. He was 76.

Sherrill was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Meeker to Henry and Maude Sherrill.

He had lived in the Meeker area all his life where he attended the Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brothers.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at New Hope Cemetery, Meeker, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler. The Rev. Charles Pearcy will officiate.

Clara Mae Fields

Clara Mae Fields of Shawnee died Saturday at a local nursing home. She was 88.

Mrs. Fields was born Sept. 2, 1912, in Shawnee to John and Ola Johnson.

On Sept. 28, 1935, she married Henry Fields.

She lived in the Shawnee area most of her life and was a home health care giver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter, Loletta Jo Fields Baptiste.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Kim Melot, Tracey Melot and Justin Baptiste, all of Shawnee; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. today at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Billy Mitchell officiating.

Ruby J. Addington

Shawnee resident Ruby J. Addington died Sunday at a local hospital. She was 87.

Addington was born Dec. 7, 1913, in Agra, Okla., to Lawrence and Laura Addington.

She had worked as a registered nurse at ACH Hospital, Indian Sanitarium Hospital and Tinker Air Force Base. She also owned and operated Addington's Greenhouse for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Elizabeth Whitfield, and brothers, Charles, Lee Roy and Votra Addington.

Survivors include sisters, Lena Crabtree and Juanita Dodd, both of Shawnee, and Glatis Gierhart, Pueblo, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Dickenson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Eugene Benton O'Brien

Eugene Benton O'Brien of Sibley, La., died Sunday in Meeker. He was 71.

O'Brien was born May 14, 1929, in Sparks to Edward and Glenna Lucille (Stowers) Clarkson. He married Nelda Smith on Sept. 24, 1950, in Texarkana, Ark.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Nelda O'Brien, of the home; son, Mike O'Brien, Sibley, La.; daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Art Donahue, Covington, La.; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Sharon Clarkson, Meeker; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Frank Ramseyer, Meeker; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Viewing and visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Meeker.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Lane Cemetery, Sibley, La., under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Minden, La. The Rev. Jack Maxey will officiate.

Sarah Emma McKey

Sarah Emma McKey died Saturday in Oklahoma City at the age of 63.

Mrs. McKey was born Oct. 27, 1937, in Wellston to Floyd and Viola (Lindsey) Gallaher.

She married Raymond Richard McKey on Aug. 22, 1955, in Oklahoma City.

She worked as a waitress for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one granddaughter, a sister and brother.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Sue and Warren Humphre and Lisa McKey, all of Wellston; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Susan McKey and Leslie McKey, both of Wellston, and Raymond McKey Jr., Choctaw; brother, J.T. Gallaher, Germany; two sisters, Wanda Newby and Mary Hagar, both of Wellston; seven grandchildren, Shane, Todd and Leslie Humphrey, Carla and Justin McKey and Kimberly and Cheyenne McKey; and one great-grandchild, Courtney Humphrey.

Viewing will be at Parks Brothers Chapel, Wellston. Services will be 10 a.m. today at the Assembly of God Church, Wellston, with the Rev. Tommy Alvarez, the Rev. Calvin Walker and the Rev. Dewayne Settle officiating. Burial will follow in Wellston Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler.

Danny Arthur Cranfield

Seminole resident Danny Arthur Cranfield died Saturday at Integris Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma City. He was 47.

Cranfield was born Oct. 23, 1953, in Oklahoma City to Arthur W. and Roxie Ann (Ivers) Cranfield.

On June 10, 1974, he married Shirley Aycox in Oklahoma City.

He graduated from Moore High School in 1972 and had lived in Seminole the past 20 years.

He worked in the shipping department at Wrangler, retiring after a lengthy illness.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, William Kirk Cranfield.

Survivors include his parents, Arthur and Roxie Ann Cranfield, Seminole; wife Shirley Cranfield of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Danny Arthur Jr. and Melissa Cranfield, Shawnee; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lori Cranfield of the home and Jennie and Anthony Chesser, Seminole; brother, Sammy Ivers, Earlsboro; two sisters, LeAnna Tiger, Seminole, and and Roxann Ginn, Sitka, Alaska; and four grandchildren, Madison Leann Cranfield, Christian Kirk Cranfield, Anthony Jacob Chesser and Danny Tyler Chesser.

Memorial service will 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Chesser officiating.

Mark Delmar Wilson

Mark Delmar Wilson died March 28 in Stuarts Draft, Va. He was 32.

Wilson was born Oct. 27, 1968, in Ventura, Calif., to Billy Joe and Glenda Gene Reed Wilson.

Survivors include his parents; his wife, Cynthia Wilson; brother, Keith Carter, Shawnee; and sister, Tammy Reed, Ada.

Memorial service will be 6 p.m. Thursday at the Abundant Life Tabernacle, Ada, under the direction of Reynolds Funeral Service, Stuarts Draft. The Rev. George Carson will officiate.

Agnes M. Fields Prince

Agnes M. Fields Prince of Holdenville died Saturday at a Holdenville hospital. She was 81.

She was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Pharoah, Okla., to Wiley and Olive Fields. She was reared in the Henryetta area until age 14 when the family moved to Holdenville.

She graduated from Holdenville High School in 1937. After graduation, she worked for Southwestern Bell in Holdenville as a service representative and later transferred to the Ada office.

In September 1949, she married John B. Prince and the family lived in Roswell, N.M., and later Sacramento, Calif.

In 1997, she returned to Holdenville where she stayed until her death.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Holdenville, the Heritage Foundation, American Center for Law and Justice and the American Family Association.

She was a sponsor of Boy Scouts of America, a charter member of the Citizens Against Government Waste, Concerned Women of America, Coral Ridge Ministries and many others.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Wiley and Olive Fields, her husband, John B. Prince, one sister, Dortha Taylor, and one brother, Curtis Fields.

Surviving are sisters and brother-in-law, Geneva Ferrell of Oklahoma City, Nadine and James Olivo of Holdenville, Nancy Carlton of Shawnee and Sudie Cain of Oklahoma City, brother, B.J. Fields of Sulphur, and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holdenville Cemetery with the Rev. Meredith Robinson officiating. Burial is under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Viola Mae Thorpe Logan

Longtime Shawnee resident Viola Mae Thorpe Logan died Tuesday at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was 76.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Lit MacIntosh officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Mrs. Logan was born Sept. 4, 1922, in Shawnee to George and Emma Cinda (Spybuck) Thorpe. She attended Bethel High School and was a retired licensed practical nurse for Presbyterian Hospital.

She was a member of Glorietta Baptist Church and V.F.W. Women's Auxillary.

Survivors include her two sons, John Logan and Glen Logan, Shawnee; daughter, Mary Logan, Shawnee; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one grandson, three brothers and two sisters.

Edward L. Clayton Sr.

Shawnee resident Edward L. "Ed" Clayton Sr. died Tuesday at a local hospital. He was 64.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with Bill Matthew and Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Clayton was born Feb. 25, 1935, in Wynona, Okla., to Raymond and Inez Clayton. He married Kay Lyn Marshall on Dec. 26, 1978. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany.

He attended Lyons High School, Lyons, Kan., and Pittsburg State Teachers College in Pittsburg, Kan. He farmed the Lyons-Chase area for Custom Combines, was a contract trucker and welder. He also taught mechanics, welding and woodworking in Cheney, Kan. and Shawnee.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Clayton, of the home; daughter, Kaylee Clayton, of the home; son, Lee Clayton, of the home; two brothers, Harry Clayton, Lyons, Kan.; Charles Clayton, Cleveland, Okla.; two sisters, Mildred Manwarren, Fayetville, Ark.; Maybelle Hollingshead, Tulsa; mother-in-law, Maxine Marshall, Shawnee; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Raymond Clayton.

Jesse Vernon Northcutt

Jesse Vernon Northcutt, 83, died Tuesday in Weatherford, Texas.

Graveside services will be today in Resthaven Memorial Park, Midland, Texas under the direction of White's Funeral Home, Weatherford, Texas.

Northcutt was born in 1915 in Tecumseh. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1937 and attended the Univeristy of Oklahoma.

He moved to Orange, Texas, and worked as a shipfitter for Consolidated Steel from 1941 to 1945. He worked 34 years as a draftsman for Magnolia Petroleum and Mobil Oil in Midland, Texas, where he retired in 1980. He moved to Weatherford, Texas, in 1994.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Tom Griffith, Weatherford, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Morene and Virgil Murphy, Tecumseh; uncle, George Rader, Tecumseh; grandson, Dylan Griffith, Austin, Texas; granddaughter and her husband, Noelani and Ryder White, Weatherford, Texas; great-grandson, Thomas White, Weatherford, Texas; niece and her husband, Linda and Bob Lynn, Tecumseh, and their children Amber and Curtis Lynn, Shawnee; cousins, Jean and Wayne Carpenter, Tecumseh; Harold and Hazel Keisling, Tecumseh.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marthalena Pigott Northcutt in 1985; his father, Green G. Northcutt; mother, Lena Alice Jones Northcutt; brother, Glen Northcutt; grandson, Pearce Griffith.

J.B. Bowden

J.B. Bowden, 66, Board Camp, Ark., died Thursday at his home.

Bowden was born March 22, 1933, in Tribbey to Roy Sanders and Lovie Mason Sanders. He married Erma Pinkston on Aug. 16, 1952, in Shawnee.

He had lived in Board Camp, Ark., since 1970 and was a sawmill worker. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Erma Bowden, Board Camp, Ark.; daughters, Yvonna Ham, Tecumseh; Denise Van Brunt, Shawnee; brother, Ira Lee Bowden, Fulton, Ark.; five grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Baptist Church with Bro. Orval Heath and Bro. Don Farris officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Monday in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena, Ark.
