Reggie H. Fisher

Lifelong Chandler resident Reggie H. Fisher died Wednesday in Chandler. He was 88.

Fisher was born April 15, 1910, in Chandler to Ben and Mabel (Osborne) Fisher. He married Elsa Lucinda Gardner on Oct. 27, 1934.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chandler.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Boyd and Judy Fisher, Yukon; grandson and his wife, Kevin and Leslie Fisher, Yukon; great-grandson, Michael Fisher, Yukon; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, on June 15, 1991.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Chandler, with the Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery.

Mildred LeeEdith Whitecotton Little

Mildred LeeEdith Whitecotton Little of Shawnee died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was 83.

She was born May 22, 1915, in Plainview, Ark.

She married Burt Little on March 2, 1932, in Bokoshe, Okla., and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1992. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are six children, Bertie Lee Moore of Olathe, Kan.; Cathryn Childers of Shawnee; Paul Little of McLoud; Patsy Gray of Shawnee; Elmer Little of Shawnee; Bert Dewayne Little of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Mary McRonalds of Russellville, Ark.; numerous other relatives.

Graveside services are 2 p.m. Friday at Tecumseh Cemetery with the Rev. David Nolan officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Ruby Doolen

Konawa resident Ruby Doolen died Wednesday. She was 97.

Mrs. Doolen was born Sept. 5, 1901, in Francis to Alice and Abslom Hudson. She married Roy "Babe" Doolen on May 17, 1917, in Sasakwa.

She lived in the Vamoosa area most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a charter member of the Vamoosa Baptist Church.

Survivors include her four daughters, Mildred Lancaster, Dealtha Stafford and Joann Rodgers, all of Ada; Janice Ross, Fort Gibson; 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, on April 1, 1959; one daughter, Naomi Davis; and three sons, A.J. Doolen, Jesse "Son" Doolen and Roy Dean Doolen.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Vamoosa Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Burden and Rev. Wayne Patton officiating. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Robert (Bob) Alex Taylor Sr.

Robert (Bob) Alex Taylor Sr. of Tecumseh died Monday at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 67.

He was born Aug. 31, 1933, in Konawa, the son of Dewey and Anna (Jones) Taylor.

He worked at the Shawnee Police Department and served 20 years before retiring in 1985.

He married Lola Quattlebaum in 1958.

They were married 42 years.

Taylor served in the U.S. Air Force overseas four years during the Korean conflict.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Taylor moved to Shawnee in 1940 when he was 7.

Three years ago, he and his wife moved to Tecumseh to farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include wife Lola Taylor of Tecumseh; children, Debbie and Brian Cook of Tecumseh, Teresa Pace and Bill Reininger of Norman, and Sharon Taylor and Craig Duncan and Robert Alex Jr. and Elaine Taylor, all of Shawnee; brother, A.D. Taylor of Norman; sisters, Goldie Carneal of Colorado and Imogene Weece of Dodge City, Kan.; grandchildren, Jennifer Pullen, Lee and Krystal Johnson, David Wages, Cody DeMoss, Leah Taylor, Casi Duncan and Breann, Alex III and Brooke Taylor; great-grandchildren, Destiny and Courtney Veitenheimer, Guy Heffley and Mariah Wages; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will be at Jamieson Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Helen E. McPeak

Helen E. McPeak died Sunday at a Fort Worth, Texas, hospital. She was 79.

A homemaker, Mrs. McPeak was married to Howard McPeak who was raised in Shawnee. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughters, Karolyn Scott, Spring, Texas, Mitzi Davis, Fort Worth, and Myra Cox, Richland Hills, Texas; son, Ron McPeak, Fort Worth; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Lovdie Bickerstaff Stephens

Lovdie Bickerstaff Stephens, 93, a resident of Konawa, died Friday.

She was born May 21, 1907, in Saltillo, Miss., the daughter of Vonie and John Bickerstaff.

She married Hubert Stephens Dec. 24, 1923, in Konawa. She was homemaker who moved to Konawa from Asher in 1920.

Stephens was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Stephens; son, Willie Allen "Bill" Stephens; parents, sisters, Lillie Stephens and Ellen Worley; and brothers, Calvin, Bonnie and Guy Bickerstaff.

Survivors include sister, Bessie Damron, Midwest City; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Becky Jo and Bobby George, Konawa; grandson, Paul Stephens, Ada; great-granddaughter, Jancy Gharkhania, Norman; great-grandson, Jerick Gharkhania, Konawa; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services were 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of Christ, officiated by Richard Winters and assisted by Ed George. Burial followed at Vista Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home of Konawa.

Edna Julia Marshall

Edna Julia Marshall, 87, of Konawa died Tuesday, March 20, in Maud.

She was born March 13, 1914, in Hemet, Calif., the daughter of Charles Henry Lang and Ida (Ebel) Lang.

Marshall moved to rural Konawa area in 1990 from Oregon.

She married Carl Wesley Marshall on April 29, 1935, in Hemet, Calif. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2000.

Mrs. Marshall, a homemaker, was a member of the Konawa Assembly of God Church the past few years. Previously, she attended Holdenville Immanuel Fellowship Church.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and son, Larry Marshall in September 1944.

Survivors include daughters, Lynn Williams of Konawa and Bonnie Spencer of Nicaragua; sons, Charles W. Marshall of Dallas, Texas, and H. Winston Marshall of Wilsonville, Ore.; sister, Hallie Tiner of Twentynine Palms, Calif.; brother, Leslie Lang of Beaumont, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Dora Cemetery with the Rev. Jeffrey Williams, the Rev. James Williams, the Rev. Jason Williams and the Rev. Joshua Williams officiating. Services are under the direction of Knight Funeral Home of Maud.

Nellie C. McFarland

Nellie C. McFarland died Saturday. She was 104.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Church, Tryon, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler.

Charles McEntire

Charles McEntire, 78, of Shawnee died Monday.

Services are pending and will be announced by Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Bessie May (Webb) Goodwin

Bessie May (Webb) Goodwin, 91, died Sunday in Tulsa.

She was born April 6, 1909, in Okemah to Thomas Monroe and Effie Eliza Groves.

Goodwin grew up in Okemah and graduated from Okemah High School.

She married Wesley Hubert Webb Oct. 17, 1930, in Wewoka. He preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1955.

She married Ray Goodwin July 12, 1060, in Pittsburg, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1962.

She worked as a maid at the Bess Hotel in Pittsburg, Kan., for 10 years and was a babysitter until she retired. She taught Sunday school at the First Baptist Church in Okemah.

She belonged to the Senior Citizens Center in Pittsburg, Kan.

Goodwin was a member of the First Christian Church in Pittsburg, Kan.

She moved to Arma, Kan., in 1996 to be near her son and moved to Tulsa in 1998.

She was also preceded in death by her seven brothers, two sisters, son, Nigel Valery Webb on June 13, 1998, and a grandchild.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Hubert Dexter and Lavern Webb of Yukon; daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Damon Horton of Tulsa and Ramona Ruth and Casey Truskunas of Glendora, Calif.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Okemah.

Scotlynn Rene Shirey

Scotlynn Rene Shirey, infant daughter of Marty and Taryn (Nall) Shirey of Tecumseh, died Saturday in Oklahoma City.

She was born Saturday in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include her parents of the home; brother, Connor Shirey of the home; grandparents, Barney and Carolyn Shirey of Tecumseh and Gary and Kay Fry of Konawa; great-grandparents, Burt and Maggie Gill of Earlsboro, David and Ruby Jackson of Bethel, Margie Rider of Tecumseh and Beulah Fry of Asher; great-great-grandmother, Evelyn Brumley of Tecumseh; aunts and uncles, Stephanie and John Marrs of Tecumseh, Jamie Shirey of Tecumseh, Greg Shirey of Tecumseh, Brian Shirey of Tecumseh, Tonya and Dale Landreth of Okmulgee, Greg and Candy Fry of Konawa and Steven and LaDawna Fry of Konawa; and numerous cousins.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Pentecostal Church of God, Tecumseh, with Marty Shirey and Barney Shirey officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Bruce Jenkins Jr.

Bruce "H.B." Jenkins Jr. died Thursday in a local hospital. The Earlsboro resident was 72.

He was born May 7, 1938, in Ada, the son of Bruce and Ollie Jo (Williams) Jenkins. He graduated from Earlsboro High School.

Jenkins served in the U.S. Navy and worked as an inspector for Wolverine Company. He was a member of Church of Christ.

He was a longtime California resident before moving to Shawnee. He then moved to Earlsboro.

Preceding him in death were his mother and a brother, Lynn Jenkins.

Survivors include his father, Bruce Jenkins of Earlsboro; a sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Junior Mize of Earlsboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Lou Eve Jenkins of Auberry, Calif.; two sons, Bruce Jenkins III and Alvis Lynn Jenkins, both of Oklahoma City; a daughter, June Perry of Tualatin, Ore., and a number of other relatives.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Memorial Park. Doyle Loveland will officiate. Arrangements are directed by Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
