Manuel Thomas Spaugy

Manuel Thomas Spaugy, 81, Tecumseh died Thursday in Shawnee.

He was born July 9, 1919, in Asher. He was the son of Fred Jackson and Nona (Smith) Spaugy.

On Dec. 24, 1938, he married Ruby Lee Vanderveer in Marietta. She preceded him in death on Oct. 11, 1991.

Born and reared in Asher, he had lived in Cordell, Springer and Marietta before moving to Tecumseh in 1951. He worked for the Shawnee Milling Co. for two years and worked at Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement in 1985.

He was a longtime member of East Main Church of Christ, and a current member of Central Church of Christ.

He also was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Daniel Spaugy.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Nolan and Linda Spaugy of Shawnee and Don and Lisa Spaugy of Tulsa; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Hank Keck of Enid and Judy and Harold Farris of Shawnee; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel, Tecumseh, with Dwyane Dennis and Don Sullivan officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Paul Walter Nootbaar

Paul Walter Nootbaar, 63, died Thursday in his Paden home.

He was born Dec. 26, 1937, in Harvey, Ill., to Fred and Kate (VerWay) Nootbaar. On Feb. 7, 1963, he and Ruth Jane Morelock married in El Paso, Texas.

Nootbaar, a truck driver and member of First Christian Church in Prague, had been a resident of Okfuskee County and the Paden area for 28 years.

He moved there from Posen, Ill.

Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant brother and sister; his brother, Junior Nootbaar, and sister, Laverne DuVall.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Jane Nootbaar of Paden; three sons, Keith Nootbaar of Plano, Texas, David Nootbaar of Prague and Dan Nootbaar of Paden; his brother, Donald Nootbaar of Markham, Ill.; three sisters, Nellie Jarema of Wolcottville, Ind., Dorothy Alonso of Midlothian, Ill., and Pat Knight of Resaca, Ga.; as well as four grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague. The Rev. Robert Barr and the Rev. Curtis Reynolds will officiate. Burial will be in Prague Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.

Fannie Lois King

Fannie Lois King died Thursday in her Chandler home. She was 85.

She was born Aug. 5, 1915, in Paden, the daughter of J.L. and Clara Ora Taylor.

On Oct. 9, 1934, she and Herman E. King were married in Tecumseh. They married for nearly 65 years and were business partners. He preceded her in death Sept. 24, 1999.

Mrs. King was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Chandler.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and three sisters.

Survivors include her three children, Gerald King and Mary Kiker, both of Oklahoma City, and Janice Holland of Chandler; three grandchildren, John Kiker of Arizona, Steve Kiker of California and Vicki Martin of Newcastle; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nita Holman of Cushing and Vera Telford of Chandler, as well as numerous other relatives.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Park Cemetery. The Rev. Doyle Seeley will officiate. Arrangements are directed by Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler.

Steven Randall Grabner

Steven Randall Grabner of Cashion died Monday in a Cashion house fire at the age of 26.

He was born Aug. 3, 1974, in Milwaukee, Wis. He married Martha Conklin on March 7, 1998, in Oklahoma City.

Grabner, who had attended Shawnee High School, worked for Bob Howard Chevrolet in Edmond.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his wife and daughters.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Ardith and Steven Hofmann of New Caney, Texas; his father and stepmother, Channing and Debbie Grabner of Milwaukee, Wis.; grandmother, Betty Grabner of Florida; uncle and aunt, Jim and Judie Gollhardt of Shawnee and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Arcadia. Burial will follow at the Arcadia IOOF Cemetery. Brown's Funeral Home in Luther is in charge of arrangements.

Martha Ann Grabner

Martha Ann Grabner of Cashion died Monday at the age of 22.

She was born March 14, 1979, in Oklahoma City. She was married to Steven Grabner March 7, 1998.

Survivors include her father, Michael Conklin of Rogers, Ark.; her mother, Karen Brogaard of Oklahoma City; two half sisters, Christina Szczerbacki and Crystal Conklin; one half brother, Tyler Brogaard; grandparents, Tommy and Ruth Conklin of Edmond, and one great-grandmother, Rose Adam of Tulsa and a host of family and friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Arcadia. Burial will follow at the Arcadia IOOF Cemetery. Brown's Funeral Home in Luther is in charge of arrangement.

Patience Kay Grabner

Patience Kay Grabner died Monday at the age of 2.

She was born Sept. 22, 1998, to Steven and Martha Grabner.

She is survived by several family members.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Arcadia. Burial will follow at the Arcadia IOOF Cemetery. Brown's Funeral Home in Luther was in charge of arrangements.

Trinity Faith Grabner

Trinity Faith Grabner, the unborn child of Steven and Martha Grabner died Monday. She was due to be born in April.

She is survived by several family members.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Arcadia. Burial will follow at the Arcadia IOOF Cemetery. Brown's Funeral Home in Luther is in charge of arrangements.

Jessie Young

Longtime Tecumseh resident Jessie Young died Thursday in Shawnee at the age of 94.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel, Tecumseh, with the Rev. Robert Rider officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Further arrangements are pending.

Deloris Ann (Kaseca) Checotah Littlecreek

Deloris Ann (Kaseca) Checotah Littlecreek of Harrah died Tuesday. She was 34.

She was born Jan. 4, 1966, in Shawnee to Walter and Nancy (Squire) Kaseca. She was a graduate of Noble High School and attended the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City Community College.

She was a lifelong resident of the Little Axe area. She was director of family services for the Absentee Shawnee Tribe. She was a also a member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe.

Preceding her in death were her parents and two infant sisters.

Surviving are her children, Eric Checotah, Evan Checotah and Tiffany Littlecreek, all of the home; sisters Minnie Seber, JoAnn Walker, Shirley Harjo and Beatrice Kaseca, all of Norman, Erma Washington of Shawnee; and a brother, David Kaseca of Shawnee; as well as numerous other family and friends.

Mary Lou Ransom

Mary Lou (Flores) Ransom of Mead, Okla., died Tuesday in Denison, Texas. She was 61.

Mrs. Ransom was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Wichita, Kan. to David and Clara Mills. She attended school in Shawnee and belonged to Tri Hi Y, Rainbow Girls and Shawnee Pep Club.

She was a beauty operator for more than 30 years and was a member of Wallace Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles David and Karen Mills, Shawnee; son, Gene Lain, Durant; daughter, Gina Rector, Broken Arrow; sister, Beverly Ann Hughes, St. Petersburg, Fla.; parents, David and Clara Mills, Shawnee; grandson, Brett Anthony Rector, Broken Arrow; granddaughters, Britan Taylor Mills and Kurstyn Bron Mills, both of Shawnee; and many other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Trina Lain.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at L.P. Coffey Funeral Home Chapel, Durant, with the Rev. Gerald Tidwell officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery with the Rev. W.F. Crow officiating.

Thomas Key Wright

Lifelong Chandler resident Thomas Key Wright died Tuesday near Guthrie. He was 57.

Wright was born Aug. 11, 1942, in Chandler. He married Karen Bethel in Eureka Springs, Ark., on Aug. 17, 1975. He worked in sales.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Wright, of the home; sons, Bryan Thomas Wright and Mark Stephen Wright, both of Chandler; daughter, Yasha Matthews, Shawnee; sisters, Charlene Jarrett, Lexington, Va.; Sue Ann Martin, Chandler; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler, with Dr. Sam Matthews officiating.

Memorials may be made to The Wright's Children's Trust, Union National Bank, 1001 Manvel, Chandler, OK 74834.

Keith Dye

Lifelong Seminole resident Keith "Dale" Dye died Thursday at Integris Baptist Medical Center. He was 38.

Dye was born May 4, 1961, in Seminole to Kenneth and Junia Faye (Lynch) Dye. He worked in maintenance at Shawnee Milling for 22 years.

Survivors include his father, Kenneth Dye, Seminole; son, Keith "Dale" Dye Jr., Shawnee; daughter, Kelsey Dawn Dye, Shawnee; brother, David Dye, Seminole; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother on Jan. 6, 1998.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Little Cemetery.

Lucille Daugherty

Lucille Daugherty of Shawnee died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 82.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church.

Other arrangements are pending and will be announced by Resthaven Funeral Home.

Guy J. Celli

Guy J. Celli, Stroud, died Tuesday in Prague. He was 70.

He was born Dec. 2, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Guy Sr. and Anna (Fodey) Celli.

Celli served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

He married Marge Howard Jan. 2, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio.

Celli, a resident of Stroud since 1994, was a public accountant and was affiliated with the St. Louis Catholic Church in Stroud.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Marge of the home; one son, Mike Celli of Columbus, Ohio; five daughters, Charlotte William of Patterson, Calif.; Sharon Long of Homestead, Calif.; Char Perdue of Elk Grove, Calif.; Donna Polite of Modesto, Calif.; Debbie Brewer of Oakland, Calif.; one brother, Al Celli of Dublin, Ohio; Margaret Melfi of Columbus, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Stroud with Father David Lafferty officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services in Stroud.
