Kathy Sue (Noe) Graven

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Mach 24, 2006 in the sanctuary of the Oak Grove Baptist Church for Kathy Graven. Pastor Paul Collins of the Silver City Free Will Baptist Church will officiate with special music provided by Kim Morris. Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery at Oilton with Dan Poole, Darrin Noe, Ronnie Noe, Scott Stephens, Terry Noe and Paul Stokes serving as casket bearers. Honorary bearers will be Lyle Reams and James Anderson. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Michael's Funeral Home of Drumright.

Kathy Sue (Noe) Graven was born in Sand Springs, Okla. on Nov. 18, 1949 to the late Earl Noe and Helen (Fritts) Noe. She passed away in Tulsa on March 20, 2006 a the age of 56 years. She was raised and educated in Sand Springs and Depew and spent the majority of her life in the area. For many years she was the manager of the E-Z Out Convenience Store in Oilton and also worked a the Hallet Raceway on weekends.

She was a member of the Oilton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, loved to camp, fish, be outdoors and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved to watch and cheer her grandchildren along at their ballgames. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. In June of 1995 she married Ronald Graven and they have remained together until her death. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Coyle Parks, and two brothers, Gene Noe and Earl Noe, Jr.

The family has requested memorial contributions be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105-1942.

Her remaining family includes her husband, Ron Graven of Drumright; her loving children, Darrel and Sherry Morris of Drumright, Roy and Kim Morris of Silver City; grandchildren, Weston, Peyton, Trenton, Katherine and Roy David Morris; brothers and sisters, Billie Miller, Jack Noe, Bud Noe, Ronnie Noe, Gary Noe, and Marilyn Bigpond. Also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many loving friends.

Hugh Robert Hughes

Hugh Robert Hughes, a long time Cushing Business and Civic Leader, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 22, 2006 in Dallas, at the age of 86 years.

The son of the late Thomas J. and Clara Hughes, Hugh was born on September 25, 1919 in Cushing and was reared and educated here, graduating from Cushing High School. He attended New Mexico Military Institute, Washington and Lee University and the University of Oklahoma. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.

He was united in marriage to Audrey Caroline Erickson on October 19, 1941 in Cushing and to this union three children, Elizabeth, Robert and Christine were born. Caroline preceded him in death on Oct. 29, 1993.

He served his country as a member of the Army 112th Cavalry Unit in the Philippines during World War II.

Hugh was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, serving for many years as an Elder and had also held the office of Church Treasurer. Hugh was a member of the Cushing Masonic Blue Lodge and the Cushing Country Club. For many years had served on the Board for the Bank of Cushing and the Cushing Country Club.

Hugh owned and operated the Cimarron Concrete Products Company and later was associated with the Hughes Lumber Company.

He was a past Mayor of Cushing and participated in numerous civic events. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, playing bridge and drinking coffee with his friends. As a Church and community leader, his kindness and generosity was well known.

He is survived by daughter, Christine Hughes Gunter and her husband Jerry of Dallas, TX; one brother T.J. Hughes of Tulsa; two grandchildren, Alan and Claire Gunter of Dallas, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son Hugh Hughes, II and one daughter Elizabeth Hughes.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 10 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Tom Stewart officiating.

Serving as casket bearers will be Bill Ahrberg, Jr., Paul Magdeburg, John Bryant, Lionel Harris, Steve Crowder, John Fechner, Bob Jones and Alan Gunter.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.

James Leo Patten

James Leo Patten, 90 of Jennings, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Tulsa Regional Hospital, Tulsa. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Oilton, Okla.

Services are under the direction of Palmer and Marler Funeral Home, Oilton.

Leo was born on Aug. 26, 1915 in Jennings, Okla. to Charlie and Lillie Bell (Mock) Patten.

He grew up in Jennings and attended Jennings school. Leo worked at the CC Camp in Durango, Co. in 1934 for 5 years working in the infirmary, office work and also helping to build levees. While in Durango, he attended night school and met his future bride. Leo married Bernice Hunter on June 4, 1939 in Aztec, N.M. They moved back to Oklahoma in 1939. He worked in photography, Douglas Aircraft and the Hissom Memorial Center during his life. He retired in 1977. After retirement, he enjoyed making violins. Leo made 14 violins altogether.

Leo is survived by his wife Bernice of the home, brother Charlie Patten Jr. and wife Mary Ann of Glencoe, and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Leo is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Jimmie Richard Sallee

Jimmie Richard Sallee was born on February 10, 1929 on the farm west of Pawnee to W. H. "Bill" Sallee and Edna Hope Sallee. He was the third child of thirteen children. He passed from this life on Sunday, March 26, 2006 in Tulsa, Okla. having reached the age of 77 years, 1 month, and 16 days.

He attended grade school at Olive Hill, and graduated from Pawnee High School with the Class of 1947. On June 14, 1950 he married Nadine Alberta Barnes and they had five children. He played baseball and participated in football in high school, and played American Legion baseball for two years, and "cow pasture" baseball at the "y" intersection of Highway 64 and Highway 18 in high school. He also played for Pawnee Merchants and Perry Merchants baseball during high school and his freshman year in college. He played freshman baseball at Oklahoma A & M College. As a senior at OAMC he was on the International Crop Judging Team, in 1951, placing Third High Individual in Kansas City, and the Team placed second. In Chicago, the team placed first, and he was Sixth High Individual. He graduated OAMC in 1952 in the School of Agriculture, with a major in Agronomy, (Field Crops).

He went directly into the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant ROTC, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Benning, Georgia, and back to Fort Hood, Texas before being sent overseas to the Fareast Command, Korea. He was honorably discharged from Camp Carson, Colorado May 13, 1954. That summer he worked as a grain analyst for the Oklahoma Crop Association. In the fall of 1954 he was employed by OAMC, Extension Service at Pittsburg County, McAlester, as Assistant County Agent, in charge of 4-H Clubs, consisting of 2100 4-H members.

He joined the McAlester Kiwanis Club in 1954 and served until he was transferred to Coalgate, as County Agent, when he joined Lion's. As a Kiawanian he sponsored the formation of the high school "Key Club", he also coached Little League Baseball through the Boy's Club. He also coached Peewee League for two years. He joined the U. A. Army Reserve in 1955 and served for thirty-one years, retiring as a Colonel. He was transferred by the Extension Service to Coalgate, Okla. as County Agricultural Agent in 1964. As a Coalgate Lion he served as Secretary for six years, Zone Chairman for one year, and Deputy District for one year. He was President of Coal County Chamber of Commerce for one and six months, was an Elder of the Coalgate Church of Christ for four years, and then he was transferred back to McAlester as County Director for six years in 1972.

In 1975 he became President of the Lion's Club, and from 1975 until 1978 he served on the Oklahoma State Eye Bank Committee. While at McAlester he had a weekly radio program and a bi-weekly TV program for two years, and in 1978 he was selected as one of the outstanding county agents in the United States, receiving the award at the National Convention in Boise, Idaho. In the fall of 1978 he was selected as the Southeast District Agent in Rural Development, covering 19 counties, conducting rural ambulance studies, organizing rural fire departments, conducting educational programs on mineral owners‚ rights, and conducting economic development feasibility studies. He assisted with the development of County Officers Handbook, which showed the duties and responsibilities of their offices. In June of 1981 he became Northeast District Director, consisting of 21 counties, supervising 75 professionals and 77 paraprofessionals. In October of 1985 he retired from the Co-Operative Extension Service.

After retirement he served on the Muskogee State Fair Board from 1986 until 1991, and was Chairman of the Greater Muskogee Area Chamber of Commerce for four shears. He also served as an elder of the Westside Chamber of Commerce from 1987 until 1991. He suffered a stroke in 1990, and returned to Pawnee, in July of 1991. Educational achievements he received were his Masters Degree in 1964 and Rural Adult Education at OSU; 1952 Infantry Officers Leadership School; Infantry Officers School for four years at Ft. Benning, Georgia; Command General Officers School at Leavenworth, Kansas and Industrial College of the Armed forces degree at McAlester. He also was a Trains Commander of Reserve Artillery Battalion; Company Commander of a Quartermaster Company; Company Commander of a Basic Training Company; Operations Officer of a Training Battalion; Executive Officer of a Training Battalion; Battalion Commander for five years; Battalion Commander of the 95th Reserve Training Unit; and Liaison Officer for West Point for seven years.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Nadine Sallee, Pawnee, Okla.; children and grandchildren, Wesley and Exine Sallee, Rachel & Daniel, Las Cruces, New Mexico, Kathy and Jim Dart, Erin, Laura, & Brian, Grand Prairie, Texas, Randy Callaway & Jason Callaway, Glenpool, Okla., Jeanne Fields & Joshua Fields, Pawnee, Okla., Richard and Colleen Sallee, Nathan, Staci, Tiffany & Sean; 4 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Leslie Sallee, Winfield, Kansas, Marjorie Engle, Overland Park, Kansas, Kenneth Sallee, Troy, Kansas, Joe Sallee, Stillwater, Okla., Nancy Sallee, Pawnee, Okla., Johnnie Sallee, Pawnee, Okla., Rosa Mae Garrison, Ponca City, Okla., Lyle Sallee, Stillwater, Okla., Phyllis Heisler, Pawnee, Okla., plus numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edna Sallee; his daughter, Anna Mae Callaway; and his brother, William J. Sallee.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 30, 2006 at the Church of Christ, Cushing, Okla. with Wendyl Heffington and Clay Webb officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Okla., under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Okla.

Memorials may be made to World Video Bible School, 130 Lantana Lane, Maxwell, Texas, 78656-4231.

Beth V. Morgan

Beth V. Morgan, Ponca City resident, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Westminster Village. She was 94 years old.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing. Dr. Robert Cargill, a nephew, will be officiating. Arrangements are made under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.

Beth Morgan, the daughter of William Norton Davenport and Eva (Leach) Davenport, was born on March 7, 1912 in Cushing, Oklahoma. She received her early education in Schlegel and graduated from Drumright High School. On March 12, 1934, Beth Married Ray Morgan in Hutchinson, Kansas. In 1940, they moved to Chase, Kansas where Ray owned and operated Chase Welding Company. After his retirement in 1984, they lived in Lyons, Kansas and spent their winters in Mission, Texas. Beth moved to Ponca City in January, 2003.

She is survived by one sister, Stella Jackson of Killeen, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews, including Helen Linduff, David Cargill, and Tom Davenport of the Cushing /Drumright area.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, twin sister Bonnie Cargill, and four brothers.

Memorial contributions may be made to hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 1904 N. Union, Suite 103, Ponca City, Okla. 74601, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

John "Jack" Madden Tipton

John "Jack" Madden Tipton, age 86 of Cushing, died on Friday, March 24 at the Rest Haven Nursing Center, Cushing. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Lexington, Kentucky.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Jack was born on March 26, 1919 in Lexington, Kentucky to Robert E. and Mary C. (Cole) Tipton. He grew up and graduated from High School in Lexington, Kentucky.

Jack later attended college for a couple of years at the University of Kentucky. He worked for the CMI plant in Oklahoma City for many years. He was an instructor at CMI for the use of heavy equipment and maintenance. Jack owned a farm in Guthrie for a number of years where he raised horses. He also enjoyed his ham radio.

Jack is survived by his wife Novaleen, son Timothy Tipton, daughter Becky Streubar, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and sisters.

Lester Bingamon

Lester Bingamon, 62 of Stillwater, died on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 in Stillwater. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing with interment to follow at the Avery Cemetery, Cushing.

Lester was born on Sept. 6, 1943 in Yale, Okla. to William Everett and Laverna (Kaiser) Bingamon. He grew up around Yale, Pawnee and Fairfax area.

Lester moved with his family to San Dimas, Calif. at the age of 10. He lived in San Dimas for many years. Lester served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War for over nine years. He moved to Avery, Ok for ten years and then to Stroud where he lived for twenty years. Lester married Jackie Reed on May 21, 1997 in Stroud, Okla. He was a truck driver, working for Miller Trucking, J. B. Hunt Trucking and currently driving for Glass Trucking. Lester enjoyed watching sports and always had a joke. He loved to cook and was very organized. They moved to Stillwater in 2003.

Lester is survived by his wife Jackie Bingamon of the home, sons Dan Bingamon of Henderson, NV., Daryl Bingamon of Carmichael, Calif., Matthew Oleson of Edmond and Bobby Oleson of Chickasha, and numerous step-children that he raised, brother Lloyd Bingamon of Cushing, sisters Ann Blancarte and friend John Clark of Cushing, Debra Walker of San Dimas, Calif., and one granddaughter Autumn Bingamon.

Lester is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill an Lawrence, sisters Alice Orr and Shirley Johnston.

Juvanele Love

Juvanele Love of Cushing passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006 at the age of 91.

Juvanele was born Feb. 17, 1915 in Silo, Okla. to George B. Tatum and Margaret Frances (Gardner) Tatum. She married Jesse O. Love on April 11, 1936 in Durant, Okla.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, one sister, Zelda F. Terry, and two brothers, Cecil Tatum, Leland B. Tatum and Jesse Dale Tatum.

Juvanele is survived by 3 sons, Jesse D. Love of Tuskahoma, Okla, Lynueal Carl Love of Cushing and Lyndon Charles Love of Cushing; 2 daughters, Joan Carrolyn Brownlee of Cushing and Ava Tyann Love of Cushing; 1 brother, Jesse Dale Tatum of Durant, Okla.; and 9 grandchildren, Jason Love of Tuskahoma, Okla., Jerry Love of Tuskahoma, Okla., Brent Brownlee of Cushing, Todd Brownlee of Dallas, Texas, Chad Brownlee of Bartlesville, Okla., Mike Love of Cushing, Marla Love of Muskogee, Randy Love of Cushing and Casey Love of Cushing.

Louella Jean Stillwell

Louella Jean Stillwell departed this life early Thursday morning, March 30, 2006 following a long illness, at the age of 80 years.

The daughter of the late Harry M. Stillwell and Lucinda Smith Stillwell, Louella was born on Feb. 28, 1926 in Cushing and was reared and educated here, graduating from Cushing High School in 1944.

Louella had worked in the office of the Cushing Hospital for over 38 years prior to her retirement in 1988.

She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved her family and was well known as the family photographer whenever they were together. She will be missed by all of her family.

Louella is survived by her sisters, Bernice Carter and her husband Hays of Cushing and June Puckett and her husband Taz of Maryville, TN, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 1 p.m. in the Fairlawn Cemetery with her Nephew, Dr. Forrest Ladd, Jr. of Yukon, officiating.
