Nella Lou Sharp
Shawnee resident Nella Lou "Babe" Sharp died Friday at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was 69.
Mrs. Sharp was born May 30, 1930, in McLoud to James and Lillie Knight. She married Bernard Sharp Nov. 27, 1957, in Oklahoma City.
She was raised in Pauls Valley and Maud and graduated from Asher High School. She had lived in Shawnee for five years and was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard Sharp, of the home; daughter, Anita Sharp, Shawnee; sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Robbin Sharp and Russell and Dawn Sharp, all of Edmond; son, Brian Sharp, Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren, Joshua, Austin, Krysia, Tanner, Colton and Bailee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Delbert and Frances Knight, Stratford; Maurice and Jeanne Knight, Oklahoma City; brother, Bob Knight, Oklahoma City; sister and brothers-in-law, Ann and Bob Bivins, Shawnee; sister, Vonda Merrill, Shawnee; brothers-in-law, Maynard Sharp, Tulsa; Darrell Sharp, Manford; sister-in-law, Doris Cooper, Newalla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wilbur and Russell Knight; and two sisters, Neven Walbridge and Wanda Knight.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Central Church of Christ, Shawnee, with Dwyane Dennis officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. The casket will be open until 8:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and will not be open at or after the service.
Alpha (Scarbrough) Wright
Alpha (Scarbrough) Wright, Tecumseh, died Friday in a local hospital.
She was born Dec. 23, 1910, in Clovis, N.M., to Charles Scarbrough and Nora (Giddens) Scarbrough. She attended school in Tribbey.
She was a homemaker. She married Clyde F. (Burr) Wright on March 24, 1931, in Tecumseh.
She was longtime member of the Oklahoma Avenue Baptist Church. She had lived in the Shawnee area since 1933.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Clyde Wright; a son, Michael George Wright; two brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are six daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara F. Wright of Tulsa; Marcia M. and Chester Dyer of Mabank, Texas; Janice and Duard Rosenbaum Jr. of Shawnee; Ann and Bill Pope of Tyler, Texas; Claudia Rose and Dorman Crewelge of Fredericksburg, Texas; and Frances J. and Keith Gidney of Trenton, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Timothy E. and Lorie Wright of Shawnee; two sisters, Thelma Tubbs of Oklahoma City; and Wayne Tennan of Russell, Ark.; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rusty Williams officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Dorothy Jean Whisenhunt Baker
Dorothy Jean Whisenhunt Baker, Seminole, died Friday in an Oklahoma City hospital. She was 65.
She was born July 19, 1934, in Alichi, Okla., to Millard Kirby Whisenhunt and Francis Victoria (Shields) Whisenhunt.
She moved to Seminole from Shawnee in 1969. She was a homemaker.
She married Pat Baker on Oct. 4, 1955, in Grandfield, Okla. She was member of the First Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three bothers, Hoyt, Carl and Clayl Whisenhunt.
Surviving are her husband, Pat Baker of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Teresa Baker of Meeker; three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Joe Elmore, Karrie and Kelley Joplin, and Carla and Mickey Sebourn, all of Seminole; a brother, Coy Whisenhunt of Clebet, Okla., five sisters, Opal Davis of Battiest, Okla., Hazel Martin of Pickens, Okla., Reva Lincicome of Shawnee; Mabel Humphries and Dutch Meeks, both of California; 14 grandchildren, Sarah Elmore, Patrick Elmore, Lori Elmore, Kirby Elmore, Gordan Elmore, Amy Elmore, Shawna Bennet, Cody Bennet, Laresa Baker, Kacie Baker, Dusty Joplin, Stormy Joplin, Logan Joplin, Skyeler Sebourn.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Seminole with Dr. Kelvin Moseley officiating. Burial will be in Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Edd Scott
Edd Scott, 85, died Monday in Norman.
He was born in Shawnee on Nov. 8, 1915, the son of Harley and Clara Ellen (Adkins) Scott.
He spent most of his life in Pottawatomie County, but was living in Norman at the time of his death.
Scott was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base after 15 years of service. He also had worked as a carpenter.
On March 27, 1945, he and Winnie Maner were married in Tecumseh.
Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Laura Scott of Irving, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Patty and John Banks of Norman; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Wilma Dean Scott of Tecumseh; sister, Alice Wilson of Edmond; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Roger Ballard will officiate. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.
Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ethel Marguerite Jones Keefer
Ethel Marguerite Jones Keefer died Monday in the Oklahoma Christian Home at Edmond.
Keefer was born west of Edmond on July 25, 1903, on the family farm to Minnie (McDuffy) Jones and R.E. Jones. She lived in Oklahoma City until her marriage.
She graduated from Central High School in 1923, and on May 23, 1923, she married John Keefer.
They were married 63 years and lived on the farm and in the city of Edmond all their married lives. He preceded her in death in 1986.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Keefer was a homemaker.
She was a member of the American Lily Society and had served as president of the Oklahoma County Farm Bureau Womens' extension.
She was the oldest member of Edmond's First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Musgrove and her husband, Olen, of Latta and Betty Langston and her fiancé, Toby Blalock of Shawnee; grandsons and their spouses, John and Beverly Langston of Edmond and Scott and Stacy Langston of Moore; granddaughters and their spouses, Mary Lou and Ricky Tompkins of Bella Vista, Ark., Dora and Harold Cunningham of Conway, Ark., Kennie Owen and Kandi Sebring and her fiancé, Brian Smith, all of Shawnee; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Chapel, 13313 N. Kelly, Oklahoma City. The Rev. Kris Steele will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, is in charge of the arrangements.
Dan Clifford Collier
Services for Dan Clifford Collier, 72, will be 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Medford. The Rev. Bobby Smith will officiate.
Graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee. Military honors will be given by the U.S. Army from Fort Sill.
Collier died Monday in his home northeast of Medford.
He was born March 4, 1929, in Leedey, Okla., the son of Everett Roy Collier and Eula Mary Lee Collier.
Collier moved to Shawnee with his family at the age of 5. He graduated from Shawnee High School.
He entered the U.S. Army in January 1949, and spent three years in Korea and Japan. He was honorably discharged in June 1952.
He and Norma Lee Roberts were married in Tecumseh on Oct. 31, 1952. They had lived in several places, including Shawnee, before their 1974 move to Medford.
Collier worked for Koch Hydrocarbon Company for 29 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Cherokee and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His parents and one brother, Eugene, preceded Collier in death.
Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Ronnie Morrison of Laverne, Okla.; sons and daughter-in-law, Vernon of Longdale, and Don and Sherry of Perry; grandchildren, Jessica and Tristan Collier of Alva, Mandy Morrison of Laverne, Todd Ralston and Genny Dunlap of Fairview and Danielle Stallings and Bailey Collier of Perry; brothers and sisters-in-law, LeRoy and Verna Collier of Odessa, Texas, and Virgil Collier and Charles and Carol Collier, all of Shawnee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby and Warren Wright, Rosa and Bill Fogle, and Lorene and Jim Buckmaster, all of Shawnee; and many other relatives.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hills-Ely Funeral Home, Medford.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice-Circle of Love or the First Baptist Church of Medford. The funeral home will serve as custodian of the funds.
Betty Jean Dorrough
Betty Jean Dorrough died Tuesday at Seminole Medical Center. She was 75.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Turner officiating. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
She was born Jan. 12, 1926, in Indiana, the daughter of Alonzo Duckworth and Ruth (Rayer) Duckworth.
She moved from Indiana to Oklahoma in 1960. She had lived in Seminole for 29 years.
She and Clifton Eugene White were married in 1949. She later married Jacob Dorrough in 1972.
Dorrough worked as a nurse's aide at Evening Star Nursing Home in Oklahoma City and Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole. She was a cook at Wolf and Wilson schools before her 1978 retirement.
Preceding her in death were her parents, daughter, Sue Ann White, and sister, Florence Malott.
Survivors include her sons, Mike White of Bowlegs, Wilbur Eugene White of Wolf and Jake Dorrough, also of Wolf; daughters, Mary Elliott of Weatherford, Okla., Ellen McBroom of Asher and Betty White, also of Asher; brothers, John Victor Duckworth of Indiana, Elmer Grant Duckworth of Florida and Robert Marty Duckworth, also of Indiana; sisters, Dorothy Howe and Clara Louise Rogers, both of Indiana; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Arletta Y. Abbott
Arletta Y. "Leta" Abbott died Tuesday at Grove General Hospital, Grove, Okla. She was 64.
The daughter of Esley and Bertha (Chambless) Nelson was born Oct. 10, 1936, in Dale.
She worked for 12 years as the Bethel High School financial secretary and superintendent's secretary.
She and Leroy Abbott were married June 8, 1954, in Midwest City.
In 1990, she moved to Grove. While there, she and her husband owned and operated Abbott Store and Station. They retired in 1996.
Survivors include her husband of Grove; sons, Mike Abbott of Austin, Texas, and Russell Abbott of Grove; daughter, Carolyn Eskew of Grove; grandsons, Justin and Caleb Abbott; and one great-grandson, Colton Trayce Abbott.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. Friday at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.
A private burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Fern Reeves
Tecumseh resident Fern Reeves died Wednesday at her home. She was 91.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.
