Gladiola Juanita Humphrey

Gladiola Juanita Humphrey, a Seminole resident since 1933, died Friday at a Seminole hospital at the age of 95.

She was born on Aug. 30, 1905 to Dave and Gertie Mae (Fisher) Sinner.

On April 29, 1923, she married J.E. "Dick" Humphrey. She worked for several years at the Vogue Dress Shop and Herrin's Ladies Wear. After that she owned and operated "The Hat Shop" in Seminole.

Mrs. Humphrey was a member of the First Baptist Church of Seminole, B.P.W., the Seminole Hospital Auxillary pink ladies, and was voted Sales Lady of the Year by downtown Seminole retailers. She was also a member of the Bridge Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and one grandson.

Survivors include one son, John Humphrey of Seminole, one daughter, Betty Chadwell of Seminole, two sisters, Loretta Myers of Ponca City and Aline Goodno of Norman, two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Dr. Kelvin Moseley will officiate under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Seminole Medical Center Auxillary pink ladies.

Susan Lois Campbell

Former Maud resident Susan Lois Campbell of Ponca City died Friday in Ponca City. She was 93.

She was born Jan. 23, 1907, in Apache.

She moved from Maud to Edmond in 1982, then in 1989 she moved to Ponca City. She was married to Earnest M. Campbell on Dec. 24, 1926, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1979.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Maud St. Mark's United Methodist Church. When the Campbell Family lived in Maud they were active members of the Maud Round-Up Club.

Survivors include three sons, James "Sonny" Campbell of Ponca City; Joe Campbell of Little Rock, Ark.; Charles Campbell of Ponca City; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cummings Cemetery in Maud with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Services are under the direction of Knight Funeral Home of Maud.

Faye Alkire Garrison

Former Macomb resident Faye Alkire Garrison of Grand Bay, Ala., died Thursday in Mobile, Ala. She was 71.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel, Tecumseh. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery, Macomb.

She was born May 30, 1929, to Louis and Edith Alkire and attended Macomb School.

Mrs. Garrison was lead assembler and parachute actuator in Southern California, where she lived for 50 years before moving to Grand Bay, Ala.

She was active with the Chief Petty Officers Association of the Coast Guard in Mobile.

Mrs. Garrison was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, and father, Louis.

Survivors include five sons, Ron Garrison, San Antonio, Texas; Bruce Garrison, Grand Bay, Ala.; Michael Garrison, Corona, Calif.; Doyle Garrison, Portland, Ore.; and Terry Garrison, Grand Bay; Her mother, Edith Alkire, Noble; three brothers, Vernon Alkire, Livingston, Tenn.; Charles Alkire, Macomb; and Harley Alkire, Noble; two sisters, Lou Teeter, Madill; Kathleen Greaves, Winchester, Idaho; seven grandchildren; four great grand-children; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Jimmie Richard Clark

Jimmie Richard Clark, Paden, died Friday in Shawnee. He was 63.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1937, to Roy Robert and Sadie Loreen (Lynn) Clark.

Clark was a member of the Paden Holiness Church. He worked as a welder.

On Sept. 27, 1954, he married Dorothy Faye Morris.

Clark was preceded in death by his parents and twin granddaughters.

Survivors include his wife of the home, five sons, Jimmie Clark of Mannford, Larry Clark of Paden, Billy Clark of Chipley, Fla., Eddie Clark of Coweta and Jerry Clark of Paden, four daughters, Debbie Reed of Bristow, Patricia Farris of Colcord, Connie Tosh of Prague and Racheal Lakins of Paden, 25 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Paden Holiness Church. Keith Vaughn and Aaron Brock will officiate under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague, with burial following in the Paden Cemetery.

Robert Etheridge Coats

Robert Etheridge Coats of Shawnee died Friday at a local nursing home. He was 85.

He was born March 21, 1915, in Tupelo, Okla., to Jeremiah and Elizabeth Coats. He lived in Shawnee for the last 56 years.

Coats was married to Emmaloyd Oct. 28, 1934.

He was a member of Northwest Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.

Coats was retired from 15 years of employment at Troxell's Auto Parts in Shawnee.

Preceding him in death were his youngest son, Roy Lee Coats on Oct. 5, 1970; his wife, Emmaloyd, on Jan. 4, 1991; and son-in-law Jack Greer Feb. 7, 1998.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Rita Coats of Tecumseh and Ronnie G. and Ramona Coats of Bethany; a daughter, Virginia Greer of Shawnee; brother Lester and his wife Kay of Angleton, Texas; 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ed Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Jerry L. Stanfill

Jerry L. Stanfill died Saturday at the age of 49.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Davenport Cemetery. The Rev. Berl Mackey will officiate under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Stroud.

Other information is pending.

William Daniel Lowe

William "Bill" Daniel Lowe of Grosse Point Farms, Mich., died Sunday in Grosse Point Farms. He was 49.

He was born Dec., 23, 1949, in Oklahoma City to Daniel Potter and Nova Jene (Werrell) Lowe.

He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1968. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Baylor in 1972, a master's degree from Central Michigan in 1991 and his doctor of philosophy in 1993.

He was a marketing research manager for Oldsmobile from 1996-1999. He was with the Oldsmobile Division, General Motors Corporation from 1972 to 1999.

He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church, 32nd Degree Mason and Duluth Consistory.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Werrell and grandmother, Eula Aldridge Werrell.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie L. Lowe, Grosse Point Farms,; two sons, William "Bill" Lowe, Carrolton, Texas, and Dr. William Lowe Prickett, St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Kellie Lowe, Carrolton, Texas; parents, D.P. and Nova Jene Lowe, Shawnee; grandmother, Beryl Werrell, Shawnee; two sisters and brother-in-law, Linda Lowe and Wesley Thompson, Anniston, Ala., and Jeanine and Bob Misenar, Branson, Ms.; cousin, Cynthia Oliver Hardin, Shawnee; four nephews, Alex Thompson, Ben Thompson, Tray Misenar, Seth Misenar and two nieces, Lisa Boerner and Jenna Thompson.

Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Calmes officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors and friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

George W. Whitford

Seminole resident George W. Whitford died Thursday at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 76.

Whitford was born March 29, 1923, in Holdenville to Sam and Opal (Rupe) Whitford. He married Frances Vermillion Whitford on Dec. 26, 1942, in Wewoka.

He was employed by Seminole Company, an oil well service company, for more than 30 years and retired in 1976. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Normandy, Rhineland Ardennes, northern France and central Europe.

He was a member of American Legion and the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Vermillion Whitford, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and L. E. Schneiter III, Shawnee; brother, Dale Eason, Austin, Texas; sister, Helen Mason, Oklahoma City; and grandchildren, Lance Schneiter, Norman; and Trent Schneiter, Dallas, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Rupe Eason; stepbrother, Edgar Eason and stepfather, Perry E. Eason.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Seminole with Dr. Kelvin Moseley officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the First Baptist Church of Seminole.

Robert Lee Fisher

Robert "Junior" Lee Fisher, Harrah, died Wednesday at his home. He was 73.

Fisher was born in McLoud in 1926, to Agnes Fisher Gaunt.

Survivors include his mother, Agnes Fisher Gaunt, Harrah; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma and L.D. Snow, Nicoma Park; Mary and Leslie Smith, Tecumseh; three aunts, Sarah Moore, Harrah; Julia Johnson, Harrah; Georgia Spencer, Wilson; an uncle, John Q. Fisher, Meeker; nine nieces and nephews; Polly Mullendore, who was like a daughter; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Jameison Cemetery in Harrah, under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service in Harrah.

Alex Larkey

Alex Larkey, Woodward, died Sunday in Woodward. He was 8.

Alex was born on June 1, 1991, in Woodward, the son of William Russell and Kelly F. (Schoemann) Larkey.

He was a third-grade student at Cedar Heights Elementary School in Woodward.

Survivors include his mother, Kelly Larkey, of the home; his father, Rusty Larkey, Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Brock Larkey, of the home; paternal grandparents, Dail and Coleen Larkey, Fargo, Okla.; a paternal grandmother, Betty Anderson, Clearbrook, Minn.; maternal grandparents, Larry and Cathy Schoemann, Shawnee; a paternal great-grandmother, Wanda Larkey, Fargo, Okla.; a paternal great-grandmother, June Veach, Clearbrook, Minn.; maternal great-grandparents, Gene and Frances Cossey, Tecumseh; a maternal great-grandmother, Leona Lewis, Shawnee; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and numerous friends.

Memorials may be made to the Alex Russell Larkey Memorial Fund through the Stock Exchange Bank in Woodward.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Woodward First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Flynt officiating.

Burial will be in Fargo Cemetery under the direction of Billings Funeral Home in Woodward.

Alice Ruth Yates

Chandler resident Alice Ruth Yates died Wednesday in Oklahoma City. She was 83.

Mrs. Yates was born on Aug. 22, 1916, the daughter of W.M. and Maggie (Riggs) Jones.

She married Roy Yates in Chandler and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Emy Leonard; her parents, W.M. and Maggie Jones; and a brother.

Survivors include her husband, Roy Yates, of the home; a stepdaughter, Donnell Flanagan, Tennessee; a stepson, Robert Yates; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today, at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler, with the Rev. Lorenzo Jacobs and Lee Lee Lewis officiating.

Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler.
