Dale Levern Kelly

Dale Levern Kelly, 57, Thomas, died Tuesday in an Oklahoma City hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel in Shawnee. Further information is pending.

Arletta I. Melton

Shawnee resident Arletta I. Melton died Monday in a local hospital. She was 79.

Mrs. Melton was born Aug. 2, 1920, in Burkburnett, Texas, the daughter of Jesse and Mae Blackwell.

She attended Fairview High School in Fairview, Texas.

She married John H. Melton in 1939 in Grandfield. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Melton was a member of Wallace Avenue Baptist Church, and had lived in Shawnee since 1992.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Melton.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Johnnie Pearl and Owen Zacherson, Oroville, Calif.; three sons and daughters-in-law, William "Bill" and Patsy Melton, Wolfforth, Texas; Marshall "Bud" and Rosemary Melton, Shawnee; Jerry and Donna Melton, San Antonio, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be until 9:45 a.m.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Wallace Avenue Baptist Church, with the Rev. DuWayne Colvin officiating.

Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Burkburnett Cemetery, Burkburnett, Texas, under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel of Shawnee.

Betty Jo Lazzell

Betty Jo Lazzell, Shawnee, died Tuesday in a local nursing home. She was 91.

Mrs. Lazzell was born Nov. 24, 1908, in Texarkana, Texas, the daughter of Starns A. and McHenry (Smith) Haigwood.

She married John W. Lazzell in 1942 in Claremore.

She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Lazzell moved to Sand Creek in Seminole County in 1909, moved to Shawnee in 1926.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Lazzell.

Private services will be held in Tecumseh Cemetery, under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel of Shawnee.

Ronald G. Cummins

Ronald G. Cummins of Shawnee died Sunday at his residence. He was 58.

He was born March 31, 1942, in Texas to Earl and Geraldine (Massey) Cummins. He graduated from Dale High School.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. Cummins lived in Dale and Shawnee most of his life.

Cummins was a yard foreman for Buford White Lumber Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Cummins.

Survivors include his wife, Loydell Cummins of Shawnee; two sons, Dewayne Cummins of Holdenville; Dean Cummins of Shawnee; two daughters, Tammy Schneider of Davenport and Robin Cummins of Shawnee; one sister, Laura Kliewer of Norman; one brother, Bob Cummins of Drumright; one sister-in-law, Peggy Atwater of Shawnee; one aunt, Margaret Mann; two grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. J.C. Farrand officiating.

Ervin E. Mundy

Ervin E. Mundy of Shawnee died Monday in Oklahoma City. He was 80.

He was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Kansas City, Mo., where he grew up, the son of Albert Earl and Katherine Rosa (Sutter) Mundy.

On Oct. 23, 1944, he married Billy Tillman in Norman.

He had lived in Tecumseh and Shawnee most of his life. He was a welder at Iron Craft in Shawnee for 14 years, and had most recently worked for Owens Furniture, retiring in 1983.

Mundy was a member of the First Church of God in Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Billy Mundy of the home; son, Johnny Mundy of Shawnee; daughter, Betty Barnard of Shawnee; grandchildren, Michael Harrison of Shawnee, David Harrison of Missouri, William Harrison of Oklahoma City, John Mundy of Kansas City, Mo., Chris Mundy of Shawnee and Becky Barnard of Shawnee; sister, Dorothy Elrod of Hammons; brother, Ivan Mundy of Olathe, Kan.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Church of God, Shawnee, with Tom Harrison officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Daniel R. Jines

Daniel R. Jines of Strawberry Plains, Tenn., died Sunday in Jefferson City, Tenn. He was 43.

He was born May 26, 1957, in California to Kenneth and Viola Jines.

Jines, a graduate of Bethel High School, was married to Irene Jines.

He had lived in Bethel and Oklahoma City before moving to Tennessee eight years ago. He was a stone mason in home construction.

Jines was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, K.R. Jines.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Jines of the home; four daughters, Danielle Jines of Shawnee, Dana Jines and Jesse Jines, both of Texas, and Jade Jines of the home; mother, Viola Jines of Shawnee; other family members, Jo Cunningham, Shawnee; Beverly Hughes, Tecumseh; Kenny Marcus, Tennessee; Debbie Scott, McLoud; Mike Marcus, Shawnee; Janae Hill, McLoud; Casey Larimore, McLoud; and Tony Marcus of Shawnee and other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Highland Cemetery with Larry Townsend officiating. Services are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Pearlee L. (Powers) Junk

Pearlee L. (Powers) Junk of Tecumseh died Tuesday in Tecumseh. She was 99.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Mixon officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery.

Other information is pending.

Lillie Honeycutt

Lillie Honeycutt of Norman died Sunday at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was 58.

She was born June 24, 1942, in Greenville, S.C., the daughter of Gordon and Beatrice McCall.

She graduated from Parker High School in Greenville, S.C., and moved to Oklahoma in 1965.

Survivors include one son, Jeff Honeycutt, Norman; one daughter, Kim Jennings, Tulsa; three grandchildren, Christopher Kuhlman, Norman; Jennifer Jennings and Lillian Jennings, both of Tulsa; three sisters, Wendell Agee, Seneca, S.C.; Gendell Shannon, Greenville, S.C.; Frances Vance, Raleigh, N.C.; and one brother, Marion McCall, Greenville, S.C.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jamison Cemetery with Bill Matthews officiating, assisted by Phil Thompson. Services are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Mary Anna Boggs

Mary Anna "Annie" Boggs, 93, Sparks, died Sunday.

She was born May 17, 1907, to Samuel C. and Martha Branstetter McCausland in Pryor, Mayes County.

She married Ben B. Boggs Nov. 11, 1925, at Rose. They had eight children, two of which were stillborn.

The family lived on a farm in Ralston before moving to Oklahoma City in the 1950s. They had lived at Sparks since 1969.

Mrs. Boggs was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ben Boggs; five brothers, Thomas, Claude, Bert, Frank and Clay McCausland; four sisters, Lizzie Cooper Jones, Maude Sechrest Wegan, Edith Coppock and Maggie Smith Duffield; two sons, Everett and Claude Boggs; two daughters-in-law, Verna Boggs and Geraldine Boggs; two grandchildren, Martha Ann Boggs and Randy Glenn Kirkham; one great-grandson, Dalton Hull; one great-great-grandson, Clint Long.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Wanda Pasada of Choctaw and Joyce McCausland of Paris, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lucille and Evert Kirkham of Sparks and Louise Stephens of Oklahoma City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Connie Boggs and Bennie and Jeri Boggs, all of Sparks; 22 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends and other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with Jack Bybee officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City.

G. Leo Harrison

Lifelong Seminole County resident G. Leo Harrison died Monday at his Maud home. He was 83.

Harrison was born July 21, 1918, in Hazel, Okla. He was married in 1968 to Nora Williams, who preceded him in death Oct. 1, 1985.

A retired mason, Harrison attended Punkin Center, Central School, east of Maud, and was a Baptist.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry Cline; four brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors include his children, Kenneth Williams of Wewoka, Lindsey Bondoni of McLoud, Arthur Cline of Maud and Evonne Cline Berryhill of Prague; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Seminole, with the Rev. Herschel Davis and T.C. Evans officiating. Burial will be at Wolf Cemetery.

Dorothy Mae Summers

Dorothy Mae Summers, 81, Chandler, died Tuesday in Chandler.

She was born Feb. 6, 1920, in Oklahoma City to Watson and Addie (Williams) Gray. She was married to Lonnie Summers, who preceded her in death Oct. 6, 1999.

Mrs. Summers, who lived in the Chandler area all her life, was a homemaker.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, one daughter, three sisters and three brothers.

Surviving are her son, Charles Summers of Chandler; four daughters, Pat Dandridge, Geraldine Hill and Gayle Redd, all of Oklahoma City, and Karen Jacobs of Spencer; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Memorial Auditorium in Chandler with the Rev. Lee Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery at Chandler.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Chandler.
