Vera Pearl Supernaw

Shawnee resident Vera Pearl Supernaw died Sunday in a local nursing home. She was 98.

She was born Jan. 25, 1901, in Van Buren, Ark., to Ruben Grammer and Bessie Grammer.

She married Jesse Supernaw in 1924.

She was a homemaker and a member of the University Baptist Church. She has lived in Shawnee since 1954. Prior to moving here, she lived in Bartlesville.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Irwin and Rosanne Supernaw, Montgomery, Texas; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse; one son, Phillip Supernaw; and several brothers and sisters.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Bristow Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Edna M. Bugg

Shawnee resident Edna M. Bugg died Saturday at a local hospital. She was 90.

She was born Nov. 9, 1909, near Trousdale, Okla., to Henry J. Rogers and Margaret (West) Rogers.

She married John Bugg. She was a graduate of Trousdale High School and owned and operated several restaurants in Kansas and Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Shawnee.

Mrs. Bugg was a resident of Shawnee since 1952. Prior to moving here, she lived in Hodgen, Okla., and Kansas.

Survivors include her daughters, Kay Nichols, Blue Spring, Mo., and Johnette Friend, Sherman, Texas; sisters, Ethel Schumacher and Wanda Elliott, both of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Toni Nichols, Blue Spring, Mo., Christy Tipton, Austin, Texas, Leslie Friend, Hoboken, N.J.; and two great-grandsons, Justin and Josh.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Ralph Rogers and Hubert Rogers; and one sister, Rita Pierce.

Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Reihing officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Family visitation will be 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ronald Isaac Beleele

Services for 2-month-old Ronald Isaac Beleele, Asher, are 2 p.m. Saturday at Evangelistic Center.

The Rev. Wayne Heins Sr. and the Rev. Patrick Murphy will officiate. Burial follows in Avoca Cemetery.

The infant died Wednesday at Oklahoma City.

He was born June 19, 2001, in Ada to Ronald Wayne and Desiree Dawn Rogers Beleele.

Survivors include his parents, Ronald and Desiree Beleele of the home, three brothers, Garrick, Michael and Zachary Beleele, all of the home; five sisters, Samantha, Derenda, Lauren, Dana and Aubie Beleele, all of the home; grandparents, Michael and Doris Beleele, Choctaw, and Don and Terry Rogers, Asher.

Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ann Wanner

Longtime Seminole resident Ann Wanner died Tuesday. She was 89.

She was born March 6, 1912, in Almyra, Ark., to George and Jesse (Kestner) Clifton. She moved to Seminole at the age of 2.

Most recently, she had lived at Seminole Estates Nursing Center.

On May 25, 1935, she married Ernest A. Wanner. She retired in 1989 after 35 years as an employee of Herrin's Ready-to-Wear.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Wesley Group and Wedding Ring Class. She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, receiving her 50-yaer pin in January 1995.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest of Seminole Estates Nursing Center; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Judy, Huntersville, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Franks; brother, Fred Clifton; and her parents.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Historic Strothers Chapel at Maple Grove Cemetery with the Rev. David Karges officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Thelma A. Trout

Thelma A. Trout of Hobbs, N.M., died Monday in Lubbock, Texas. She was 56.

She was born April 23, 1945, in McLoud to Johnny A. and Lillian (Hogue) Tison. She grew up in Pottawatomie County, then moved to Hobbs, N.M.

On Oct. 29, 1965, she married John Melson Trout in Hobbs and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2001. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Trout also was preceded in death by her father and two brothers.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Jason Copley, Hobbs; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Barbara Trout, Azle, Texas; Jonathan and Suzanne Trout, Hobbs; Charlie and Kelly Trout, Memphis, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren, Victoria, Keith, Christian, Lance, John, Trent, Haley and Kelci Trout, JoAnna Williams, Kade Brooks and Makenzie Copley; mother, Mrs. J.A. Tison, Tecumseh; brother, Roger Tison, Hobbs; four sisters, Nellie Cooper, Elm Grove, La.; Louise Boyd, Moore; Linda Roberts and Carolyn Effinger, both of Tecumseh; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial wil be in Brown Cemetery.

Marjory Claudia Howard

Marjory Claudia Howard of Seminole died Wednesday at a Norman hospital. She was 50.

She was born Oct. 14, 1950, in Seminole to Redmond D. and Kizzie (Tiger) Wolf. She married Jim Howard Feb. 14, 1994, in Seminole.

She worked in housekeeping at Seminole Medical Center and was a member of the Little River Mission in Seminole.

She was preceded in death by her mother, brother Eric Wolf and son Scott Grisso.

Survivors include her father, Redmond D. Wolf, Seminole; husband, Jim Howard, of the home; son, Jerrid Grisso, Tulsa; daughter, Stacy Myers, Tulsa; grandchild, Cameron Myers; three sisters, Charlotte Wolf, Arlington, Texas; Karen Wolf, Oklahoma City; Misselda Wolf, Wewoka; four brothers, Curtis Wolf, Jonathan Wolf, both of Seminole; Redmond Wolf Jr., Tecumseh; and Roger Wolf, San Mareno, Calif.

Viewing will begin at 4 p.m. today at Little River Mission, Seminole. Wake services will be this evening at Little River Misison. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Little River Mission with the Rev. Larry Harrison and the Rev. Danny Faulkner officiating. Burial will be in a family cemeteryat Little River under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Georgia M. Sparks

Graveside services for Georgia M. Sparks, 92, Tecumseh, are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Tecumseh Cemetery with Dr. Tim Walker officiating.

Mrs. Sparks died Wednesday at Tecumseh.

She was born Nov. 27, 1908, at Stanton Heights, Texas, to Chalmer H. and Susan Vianna Young Norton. She attended school in Texas.

She and J.L. Sparks were married Sept. 5, 1930, in Whiteflat, Texas. He preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1970.

She grew up in Texas. Following her marriage, she and her husband moved to Oklahoma City where they lived until moving to the Macomb "Y" in 1946. Mrs. Sparks, a homemaker, helped her husband operate a grocery store. She had lived near Tecumseh since 1954.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tecumseh.

Mrs. Sparks also was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother and a grandchild.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Dick Napier, Jane and Jack Nelson, all of Tecumseh, Lorna and Lawrence Gutierrez, Las Vegas, Nev.; son, John Sparks, of the home; two sisters, Edith Jenkins, Lubbock, Texas, Alene Martin, Plainview, Texas; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Raymond Wright Case

Raymond Wright Case died Tuesday at his home in Prague. He was 77.

Case was born Jan. 24, 1924, in Paden to F.W. and Sarah (Tudor) Case. He lived in Prague for 41 years.

Case graduated from Paden High School and attended East Central University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Japan. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1974 where he worked in inventory and supply management.

On May 19, 1944, he married Iris Elfrieda Fipps in Okemah and she preceded him in death on Dec. 11, 1989.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Carl, and grandson, Jon Michael.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Katie Case, Ada; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Richard Harwell, Meeker; Donna and Dan Frey, Prague; June and Gary Davidson, Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Frank Case, Prague; Robert Case, Moore; four sisters, Bonnie Haley, Oklahoma City; Lena Osborne, Carmichael, Calif.; Patsy Glenn, Piedmont; Carmalita McGehee, Moore; seven grandchildren, Jeff Case, Shawna Jackson, Craig Harwell, Anja Grissom, Amber Freeze and Mark and Ross Davidson; 13 great-grandchildren; and caretaker, Mary Jo Perryman.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, Prague, with Tim Emmons and Paul Heard officiating. Burial will follow in the Paden Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.

Nan Elizabeth Gaines

Nan Elizabeth (Ragland) Gaines of Konawa died Tuesday in Edmond. She was 93.

Mrs. Gaines was born Oct. 23, 1907, in East Fairview, Okla., to J. Maude (Taylor) and Thomas Jefferson Ragland Jr. She married Gore Gaines on Dec. 15, 1930, in Chandler.

She was a school teacher and had lived in the Wewoka and Konawa areas until moving to Edmond in 1990. She was an Eastern Star member, past regent of the Cedar River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and past president of the Phil Avant Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1964, her parents, brother, Tom Ragland, and sister, Cordella (Ragland) Griffin.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Nancy Gaines, Edmond; brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Kathryn Ragland, Ada; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Henthorn officiating.

L.B. Rogers Jr.

Former Shawnee resident L.B. Rogers Jr. died Tuesday at an Oklahoma City hospital at the age of 73.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Holdenville Cemetery.

Edd Lester

Edd Lester of Shawnee died Monday. He was 82.

Lester, formerly of Henryetta, was born Jan. 25, 1929, in Bokchito, Okla., to Charles Lester and Ida (Willmoth) Lester.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Leona Lester, and brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his daughter, Sonja Lee England and her husband Gary, Yukon; grandsons, Gary Tyrone England, Edmond; Gregory Todd England, Kansas City, Mo.; seven great-grandchildren; twin brother, Fred Lester; and brother, Herman Lester.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Shurden Funeral Home Chapel, Henryetta, with the Rev. Aaron Brock officiating. Burial will be at the West Lawn Cemetery.

Earl Arbuckle

Lifelong Seminole resident Earl Arbuckle died Tuesday at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 50.

Arbuckle was born Aug. 16, 1950, in Seminole to Charlie and Lula Mae (Holder) Arbuckle. He served in the U.S. Army and was a construction worker.

He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, J.D. and T.J. Arbuckle, and sister, Pauline Price.

Survivors include his mother, Lula Mae Arbuckle, Seminole; brothers, Donald Arbuckle, Comanche; Junior Arbuckle and Sylvester Arbuckle, both of Seminole; J.B. Arbuckle and A.J. Arbuckle, both of Duncan; sisters, Annie Boudion, Purcell; and Irene Hedrick, Seminole; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
