Belinda Jo Cook
Shawnee resident Belinda Jo (Wesley) Cook, 31, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, in Shawnee.

She was born Nov. 24, 1972, in Oklahoma City to Dannie Wesley and Ula Welch. She attended Pleasant Grove in Shawnee and graduated from Pleasant Grove in Seminole.

She was the accounts manager with Car Mart and Auto-Max car dealerships.

She attended Liberty Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Joe Welch; grandparents, Thomas and Lizzie Wesley; and uncles, James Switch and Darrell Wesley.

Survivors include her two daughters, Summer Nicole Cook of Meeker and Winter Dawn Cook of Oklahoma City; mother, Ula Wesley of Shawnee; father and stepmother, Dannie and Debbie Wesley of Miami; grandmother, Martha Welch of Shawnee; brother, Daniel Wesley of Tecumseh; half brother, Dannie A. Wesley of Miami; half sister, Molly Wesley of Miami; and many other relatives.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. There will be a wake service 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel. Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh is in charge of arrangements.

Emma Barton Rhea
Waco resident Emma Barton Rhea, 91, died Monday, Jan. 12, at a Waco care center.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Allen Rhea and his wife, Marianna of Shawnee; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Claudia Rhea Harder and husband, Larry of Waco, Texas; Eva Jo Rhea of Irving, Texas; sister, MaeBelle Roberts of Marlin, Texas; sister-in-law, Ella Maye Rhea of Waco, Texas, and Kathleen Rogers Rhea of Austin, Texas.

Memorials may be sent to Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, 1300 Columbus Ave., Waco, Texas 76710, or Hillcrest Community Hospice, 3215 Pine Ave., Waco, Texas 76708.

Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Waco Memorial Park followed by a memorial service with the Rev. Don Durham and the Rev. Dr. Jon Weygandt officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today.

Connally/Compton Funeral Directors of Waco, Texas, are in charge of arrangements.

Jessie Lee Cooks
Jessie Lee Cooks, 88, of Brooksville died Saturday, Jan. 17, in Shawnee.

Services are pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Blanche F. Hall
Former Pottawatomie County resident Blanche F. Hall, 86, of Auburn, Calif., died Monday, Jan. 12, in Auburn.

She was born Aug. 27, 1917, in Tribbey to Jacob and Nettie Forster.

Hall attended school in Tribbey.

She was married to Howard G. Hall.

She worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles for 24 years before her retirement.

Hall was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Quincy Forster and Jessie "Buster" Forster; sisters, Gerdie Scott and Faye Hoofard; and a stepson, Frederick Hall.

Survivors include daughters, Hope (Hall) Smith of Lincoln, Calif., and Constance Ann Chadwick of Grass Valley, Calif.; sister, Mary Mae Taylor of Oakdale, Calif.; grandchildren, Ron Smith and Howard Meadows; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tecumseh Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald D. Smith officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Homer Amp Davis
Homer Amp Davis, 99, of Allen died Thursday, Jan. 15, in Allen.

He was born Aug. 15, 1904, in Allen in Indian Territory to John Davis and Mary Elizabeth Burnett Davis.

Davis lived in the area all his life. He attended school at Lizard Lope near Stuart.

He was a cattleman and a farmer.

Davis married Esther Payne on Sept. 30, 1925, at Sherman, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 22, 1999.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Allen.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Cordell Davis and Othel Davis; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his brothers and sisters.

Survivors include daughters, Maxine Reynolds, of Oklahoma City, Mary White of Shawnee, Dee Ellis of Oklahoma City, Lena Stick of Ada, Shirley Powell of Oklahoma City, Mickie Hatfield of Chandler; sons, Tommy Davis and Harold Davis, both of Allen; 24 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Allen, with the Rev. Wallace Davis and the Rev. Chad Kaminski officiating. Burial will follow at Gerty Cemetery.

Friends may call at Allen Chapel from noon Saturday until service time.

Arrangements are under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home in Ada.

Edna Lee Dahl
Maud resident Edna Lee Dahl, 78, died Saturday, Jan. 17, at her home.

Surviving relatives include her husband, L.J. Dahl of the home; a son, Richard Snyder and wife Norma of Midwest City; a daughter, Peggy Merriman and husband Carl Leon of Moore; five brothers, Jess Cordell of Oklahoma City, Earl Dean Cordell and wife Mary of Montgomery, Ala.; Jerry Cordell and wife Sharon of Sulphur; Delbert Cordell and wife Geraldine of Oklahoma City; and James Cordell and wife Billie of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Joe Merriman and wife Shelly of Oklahoma City; Marcus Welch and wife Patricia of Okemah; and Kevin Merriman of Moore; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Elizabeth Merriman of Oklahoma City.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cummings Cemetery in Maud with Karen Smith, hospice chaplain, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.

Anthony C. Brzozowski
Former Harrah resident Anthony C. "Tony" Brzozowski, 80, died Monday in Eufaula.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Grace Brzozowski of Harrah; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Louise and George Brouse of Cleveland, Ohio, and Sister Imelda Brzozowski of Oklahoma City; and several nephews and nieces.

A graveside service was held Thursday at St. Teresa's Catholic Cemetery of Harrah under the direction of Asa Smith Funeral Service of Harrah.

Harvey Jim Jr.
Shawnee resident Harvey Jim Jr., 63, died Wednesday in an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born July 3, 1939, in Holdenville to Harvey Sr. and Mary Jane (Cornell) Jim.

He attended Scholco Indian Boarding School of Arkansas City, Kan.

Jim married Viola Stick.

He worked as a mechanic and was a member Middle Creek Indian Church No. 2 of Holdenville.

Jim was reared in the Holdenville and Oklahoma City areas and had lived in Shawnee since 1978.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Jim, of the home; four sons, Harvey Jim III, Thomas Jim, Joseph Jim, all of Shawnee, and Christopher Jim of the home; four daughters, Mary Trotaddle, Celia Jim, Dianah Jim and Debra Leflore, all of Shawnee; 32 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A local wake service was held Thursday. A tribal wake service will be 7:30 p.m. today at Middle Creek Church No. 2 of Holdenville. A funeral will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the same church with arrangements under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Dr. Jerry W. Sullivan
Dr. Jerry W. Sullivan, 69, of Shawnee died Wednesday at his home.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Dot Sullivan, of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cindy and Don Powers of Shawnee and Lisa Segrest of Sherman, Texas; two sons, Brad Sullivan of Denver, Colo., and Craig Sullivan of Tulsa; a sister, Margaret Ward of Shawnee; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Shawnee with the Rev. J.C. Farrand officiating. Visitation will be until 1 p.m. Saturday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel. There will be no viewing at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Shawnee, 1102 W. MacArthur.

Harold W. Richardson
Harold W. "Buddy" Richardson, 83, of McLoud died Tuesday in McLoud.

Survivors include his wife, Reba P. Richardson, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Sandra Richardson of Bethel and Gene and Patricia Richardson of Newalla; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Gary Lynch of Bethel, brother and sister-in-law, J.C. and Tranquile Richardson of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Derrick officiating. Burial will follow at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Newalla. Services are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service in Harrah.

Gloria June Lasley
Gloria June Lasley, 47, of Grayhorse died Tuesday at Fairfax Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Lasley, of the home; daughters, Melinda Coburn and Janese Marie Lasley, both of Norman; son, Isaiah Lasley of Norman; sister, Carol Byers of Bethel Acres; brothers, Alden Blanchard of Little Axe, Clifford Blanchard of Shawnee, Eddie Blanchard of Shawnee, Larry Blanchard of Shawnee and Rick Blanchard of Shawnee; two grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Red Eagle officiating. Burial will follow at Grayhorse Tribal Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Hunsaker-Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.

Dorothy Ann Simpson
Dorothy Ann (Windel) Simpson, 72, of Shawnee died Thursday at a local hospital.

She was born July 6, 1930, near Shawnee in Pottawatomie County to Troy and Dora (Stultz) Windel.

She was married for 56 years to retired fire chief Bill Simpson.

She was a member of the St. Benedict Catholic Church, Firefighters Women's Auxiliary, Elkettes, Ladies Auxiliary to the 40 et 8 and WIBC.

She had been a resident of Pottawatomie County most of her life.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Bud Phillips, Mary Gilmore and Lu and Dewayne White; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Ruth Simpson and Greg and Elizabeth Simpson; brother and sister-in-law, John T. and Marcine Windel; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church with the Rev. Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B, officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Donald R. Carver
Donald R. Carver, 63, of Shawnee died Wednesday at a local hospital.

He was born Dec. 28, 1939, in Saint Louis, to Bill Carver and Juanita (Bettis) Carver.

He was a 1957 graduate of Shawnee High School and attended Northeastern College on a football scholarship.

He was in retail sales and property management and was owner and operator of the Hellman's Retail Store in Chandler.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Anita and John Miller of Shawnee and Cher'e Carver and Tamera Maresh, both of Flower Mound, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Dana Carver of Chandler; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Yvonne Carver of Shawnee; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Don Gibson officiating.

Services are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.
