Clara M. Lind Lewis
Former Shawnee resident Clara M. Lind Lewis, 96, died Saturday in Fort Smith, Ark.

Lewis was born May 3, 1905, in Howe, Okla., the daughter of William Joseph and Eba (Thomas) Caudell.

Lewis married A.J. Lind. She then married Barney Lewis June 1, 1969, in Shawnee. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Rebekah Lodge and the American Association of Retired Persons.

Lewis was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three sisters, Helen Caudell, Nettie Barlow and Lorene Blackwell; one half-brother and two stepsons, Nelson and Alton Lewis.

Survivors include one stepdaughter, Charlene Munn of Shawnee; sister, Evelyn Maddox of Bell Flower, Calif.; nine stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Matthews and the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Dortha Bell Phillips
Dortha Bell Phillips, 79, died Saturday in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Billie Jean and Larry Cooper of Prague; two brothers, Bob Davis of Ponca City and J.R. Davis of Comanche; two sisters, Jewell Phillips of Canadian and Birdia Gordon of Comanche; a grandson and his wife; and three great-grandchildren.

A service will 2 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague with the Rev. Paul Heard officiating. Burial will be in Prague Cemetery.

Parks Brothers Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Wilma Marguerite Tegler
Wilma Marguerite Tegler, 86, of Harrah died Saturday in Midwest City.

A son, Francis Edward Tegler, survives Mrs. Tegler.

A service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Summit Ridge Seventh Day Adventist Church with Jim King officiating. Burial will be in Summit Ridge Cemetery, Harrah.

Arrangements are being handled by Asa Smith Funeral Home, Harrah.

John Paul Wick Jr.
Maud resident John Paul Wick Jr., 49, died Sunday in a local hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Lynn Wick of the home; daughter, Tiffanie Wick of Colorado; stepson, Jake Shanks of Higgins Lake, Mich.; his father, John Paul Wick Sr. of Midwest City; his mother, Rachel Wick of Maud; three brothers, Jim Wick of Earlsboro, Joe Wick of Norman and Jeff Wick of Moore; and one sister, Janice Wick of Maud.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fort Sill National Cemetery, north of Lawton.

Burial will be under the direction of Becker Funeral Home.

John DeGolia
Former Tecumseh resident John DeGolia, 93, of Chesterfield, Mo., died Sunday in Chesterfield

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery.

Further arrangements are pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Rebecca Grace Ann Goforth
Rebecca Grace Ann Goforth, 53, of Seminole died Thursday, Jan. 29, in Shawnee.

Survivors include her husband, William W. Goforth, of the home; son, William W. Goforth Jr. of Little Rock, Ark.; daughter, Dannell Quadros of Alexander, Ark.; brothers, Freddy Lee Bouge and Robert Dean Bouge, both of Alexander, Ark.; sister, Tammie Cunningham of Greenville, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.

Jesse L. Ott Sr.
Longtime Pottawatomie County resident Jesse L. Ott Sr., 76, of Shawnee died Saturday, Jan. 31 at his residence.

He was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Flippin, Ark., to Ernie and Viola (Loman) Cooper.

Ott attended Dale schools and served in the U.S. Army.

He was a set-up mechanic for Westinghouse Corp.

On Aug. 23, 1947, he married Ruby I. Childers in Shawnee.

He was a member of the First Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, a brother and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Ott, of the home; sons, Don Allen Ott of Shawnee and Jess Lee Ott Jr. of Hominy; daughters, Virginia Lee Goodin of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Aljnita and Kenny Pitt of Norman; sisters, Velma Harder of Shawnee and Joyce Routh of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Walker Funeral Service chapel with the Rev. Kresten Norholm officiating, assisted by the Rev. Tom Harrison. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Shawna Campbell
Shawna Elizabeth Campbell, 28, of Earlsboro died Monday.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Cemetery with the Rev. Matthew Brown officiating.

Other information is pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Pearl Katherine Scott
Pearl Katherine Scott, 95, of Shawnee died Monday at a local hospital.

She was born March 9, 1907, in Gotebo to Julius and Rose Leah (Cunningham) Boettler. She attended school in Bethel.

On Jan. 5, 1927, she married Harlie Adolphus Scott in Shawnee. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and the Home Demonstration Club.

She lived in the Bethel area for many years, moving to Shawnee in 1970.

Scott was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers and sisters; and one great-granddaughter, Joy Menear.

Surviving relatives include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bob and Betty Scott of Shawnee and Hal Scott of Whitesboro, Texas; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Clara and Charles Williams of Kingston, Okla., and Shirley and Chuck Adams of Shawnee; 10 grandchildren, Debi Kurtwright of Denver, Colo.; Cyndi Jackson of Phoenix City, Ala.; Tim Scott of Norman; Daniel Scott of Norman; Tracy Rupert and husband Adam of Whitesboro, Texas; Christy Skinner of McKinney, Texas; Mark Williams of Oklahoma City; Rebecca Williams of Sparta, Mo.; Jamie Adams of Shawnee; and Shawn Adams of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Leitha Arms of Tecumseh and Eulah Dennis of Norman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Amanda Lockwood officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

A.Z. Flick
Meeker resident A.Z. Flick, 76, died Tuesday in Meeker.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Aydelotte Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken May officiating.

Burial will be at Gable Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

More information is pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Lenora Treat
Lenora Treat, 81, of Shawnee died Sunday at a local nursing home.

She was born Sept. 24, 1921, in Shawnee to Jess Riddle and Verdie (Williams) Riddle.

Treat was a homemaker.

She married J.C. Treat on Jan. 24, 1947.

Treat was preceded in death by one stepbrother and one son, Justin Carroll Treat.

Survivors include her husband, J.C. Treat, of the home and her son, Ron Treat of Nashville, Tenn.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harvey Spear officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Earleta L. Myers
Earleta L. Myers, 80, of Shawnee died Tuesday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

She was born Dec. 27, 1922, in Clinton to J.E. and Leta (Pierce) Frazier.

Myers graduated from Seminole High School in 1941.

She was an operator for Southwestern Bell for 36 years. She also was a member of the Southwestern Bell association known as "The Pioneers."

On May 31, 1952, she married Lawrence N. Myers in Seminole.

She had been a Shawnee resident since 1956.

Myers was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son-in-law, Larry Wolfe; an infant sister; and one brother-in-law, C.V. Parsons.

Survivors include one daughter, Paula Wolfe of Edmond; three grandchildren, Greg Wolfe of Stillwater and Kelly and Curtis Hoppe of McKinney, Texas; one sister, Ruth Parsons of Seminole; and two nephews and one niece.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glen Pence officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Will Buie
Chief Warrant Officer Will Buie, (USAF Ret), 84, of Shawnee died Tuesday at his home.

He was born June 25, 1918, in Chickasha to Carl and Rose Buie.

He graduated from Chickasha High School and Oklahoma A&M (Oklahoma State). While in school at Chickasha, he was the quarterback for the football team.

After retiring from military service, he worked for T.R.W. and developed a worldwide photography department. He retired to Fallbrook, Calif., where he raised avocados, limes and macadamia nuts. In 1982, he moved back to Oklahoma, raising cattle and custom hay.

He married Cherie Osborn on Nov. 23, 1975, in Palos Verde, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, which became the U.S. Air Force, in Africa, Europe and the South Pacific. He served with NATO headquarters in France and was a member of the cadre that developed the Strategic Air Command. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, Purple Heart and commendations from the Army, Air Force and Navy.

In 1985, he was inducted into the Oklahoma Air and Space Hall of Fame.

He served with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife, Cherie; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Ted Jones of California and Betty and Steven Anderson of Maryland; son, Fred Buie of California; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.

Visitation will be through 8 p.m. Saturday.

Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Memorials may be made to Angelic Hospice of Shawnee or Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
