Michael C. Blanchard
Michael C. Blanchard, 58, of Shawnee died Jan. 31 in Harrah.

He was born April 30, 1944, in Clinton to Charles O. and Ruth E. (Cox) Blanchard.

He attended high school in Kansas City, Mo.

Blanchard lived in California, Florida, Rhode Island, Kansas, Missouri and Newfoundland, Canada, but had spent most of his adult life in Oklahoma.

He served with the U.S. Marines in the Vietnam era.

Blanchard was an Eagle Scout with the Order of the Arrow and scout master in Norman for several years. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 88 of Norman.

Survivors include two sisters and one brother-in-law, Marie and Cliff Kochick of Tecumseh and Margee of Lubbock, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Anne Blanchard of Luther; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Carl C. Wright
Shawnee resident Carl C. Wright, 83, died Monday at a local nursing home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Wright was born on Oct. 5, 1919, in Mayes County, Okla., to William Wright and Eldora (Munday) Wright.

He graduated from Adair High School in 1938 and attended business school in Shawnee.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

A resident of Shawnee for more than 40 years, he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Joy Wright, Shawnee; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and David Bernard of Poteau; sister, Blanche McCaw of Pryor; five grandchildren; eight grandchildren; longtime friend and companion Louise "Tomi" Thomas, Shawnee; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Merley H. Crook
Merley H. Crook, 87, of Shawnee died Sunday at a local nursing home.

She was born Nov. 20, 1915, in Corbin, Ky, to John Jackson Smith and Mattie (Smallwood) Smith.

She grew up and attended school in Kentucky.

Crook was a retired restaurant cook.

She married Amon Obed Jamison in 1932 in Chandler. She later married Neal E. Crook in 1939, who died in 1981.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Neal; brothers, Lawrence Smith and Harold Smith; and a sister, Idamae Bagsby.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Mary Jamison of Macomb, Kenneth and Ginger Wayne of Irving, Texas, Fred and Brenda Crook of Mansfield, Texas; sisters Claney Willys of Shamrock and Helen Pearson of Drumright; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Harold C. Popejoy
Harold C. Popejoy, 86, of Shawnee died Wednesday at an Oklahoma City nursing home.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Popejoy of the home; daughter, Helen Popejoy Frank of the home; and sisters, Inez Pegram, Melvia Maloy, Doris Smith and Carole Brown, all of Oklahoma City.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Myrtha G. Fowler
Myrtha G. "Gerry" Fowler, 84, died Saturday at her Shawnee residence.

Fowler was born April 15, 1917, at Earlsboro to Columbus Pulaski and Laura Elizabeth Wells Spoonmore.

She graduated from Sparks High School.

On Jan. 9, 1937, she and Clyde Alfred Fowler were married in Chandler.

She was a homemaker, and member of University Baptist Church.

She lived in Shawnee for more than 60 years.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Bill and Velma Green, Garland, Texas, Carl and Sandra Linduff, Honey Grove, Texas, Emmitt and Susan Hale, Shawnee, and Janice Fowler, Shawnee; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn Hadick, Kalamazoo, Mich., Coral Wilkinson, Sparks, Frances and Jim Neighbors, Tulsa, and Lynn and Patti Hise, Agra; three sister-in-laws, Buelah Spoonmore, Tacoma, Wash., Mary Spoonmore, Tulsa, Agnes Hurst, Chandler; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two children Clyde A. Fowler Jr. and Sherri Breshears; and two brothers, Beryl Spoonmore and Eston Spoonmore.

Services will be 2 p.m., today at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Searl officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Funeral Home.

James L. Reid
James L. Reid, 84, of Wewoka died Saturday at Lake Dallas, Texas.

Survivors include daughters, Beverly Murphy of Dallas, Janet Pool and Terri Jolynn Reid, both of Nashville, Tenn.; a son, William Gregory Reid of Santa Clara, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Holmes, Greg Gilchrist, Ginger Ratcliff, Patty Murphy, Greg and Wade Hales, Jay Burke, and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel in Wewoka, with the Rev. Dan Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Howard Anderson
Checotah resident Howard Anderson, 77, died Tuesday at his home. Arrangements are pending and will be announced by Walker Funeral Service.

Reba Jane Jackson Walker Lutman
Reba Jane Jackson Walker Lutman, 74, Shawnee, died Feb. 5 at her home.

Surviving are her husband, Ron Lutman, of the home; sons Greg Jackson, Shawnee, Steve Jackson, Seminole; daughter Ronda Funk, Shawnee; stepsons Ron Lutman Jr., Santa Rosa, Calif., Raymond Lutman, Santa Rosa, Calif.; stepdaughters Linda Brinkley, Fallon, Nev., Janet Steel, Santa Rosa, Calif., Christina Comb of Santa Rosa, Calif.; sister, Jeanne Henry of Boerne, Texas, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, 14 stepgrandchildren and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services were Friday at Swearingen Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Buckmaster officiating. Burial was at Little Cemetery.

Ruth Alice Ryan
Longtime Davenport resident Ruth Alice Ryan, 77, died Monday in Stroud.

Survivors include sons, Billy Ryan of Davenport and Johnny Ryan of Indianapolis, Ind.; daughters, Mary Jewel Seagraves of Indianapolis and Rose White of McAlester; sisters, Lee Cadenhead of Stephenville, Texas, and Millie Wert of Eufaula; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Davenport Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.

Barbara Dell Hardimon
Barbara Dell Hardimon, 70, of Oklahoma City died Monday at an Oklahoma City nursing home. Arrangements are pending with Walker Funeral Service.

John Floyd Ferguson
Harrah resident John Floyd Ferguson, 87, died Monday at his home.

Surviving relatives include two sons and one daughter-in-law, John R. Ferguson of Harrah, Charles E. and Linda Ferguson of Harrah; a brother, Dr. Milton U. Ferguson of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Addie Jean Rice and Betty Grace Muzny, both of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren, John R. Ferguson II, Thomas W. Ferguson, Jennifer L. Hofeld, Danny E. Ferguson, Keith A. Ferguson, and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Harrah with the Rev. Gary Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service of Harrah.

Isobel Hall-Smalley
Longtime Stroud resident Isobel Hall-Smalley, 70, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Danny McGee of Edmond; brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Margaret Brokas of Hamilton, England, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Stroud with the Rev. Jim Mickus and the Rev. Michael Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Stroud Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.

Clyde Benjamin McCullar Sr.
Formerly of Shawnee

Clyde Benjamin McCullar St., 71, of Argyle, Texas, the owner of EMC Construction for 40 years, died Thursday Feb. 6, 2003 at Denton Regional Medical Center, Denton, Tx.

He was born April 9, 1931 to Thurman and Myrtle (Shaw) McCullar in Rawls, Tx. He married Nancy Fredean in Euless, Tx in 1978.

After retiring, he and his wife opened a flea market in Justin, Texas.

The funeral service was held at The First Baptist Church of Argyle, Texas. at 11 am on Monday, Feb 10, 2003. The Rev. Bill Pritchett and Larry Watts conducted the service.

Survivors include his wife of the home, 3 daughters: Sherri Waller, Laura Zimmerman and Becky Frazier, all of Arlington, Texas.; 3 sons: Clyde McCullar Jr. of Sulphur Springs, Texas., Brandon McCullar of Argyle, and Todd Dawson of Plano, Texas.; 4 sisters: Betty Avery of Goodman, Texas., Beatrice Watts of Freeport, Texas., Barbara Hill of Goodrick, Texas., and Beulah McCullar of San Antonio, Texas.; 4 brothers: Jesse McCullar of Shawnee, Billy Ray McCullar of Sunray, Texas., Herman McCullar and Donnie McCullar both of Lubback, Texas. and 11 grandchildren.

Burial was at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Argyle, Texas, Feb. 10, 2003, under the direction of De Berry Funeral Directors, Denton, Texas.

Michael Wayne Straw
Former Sparks resident Michael Wayne Straw, 34, died Monday in Oklahoma City.

Surviving relatives include his father, Jimmie Straw; his mother, Beverly Andrews of Milton, Fla.; a son, Michael Wayne Straw of Milton, Fla.; two daughters, Kimberly Straw and Jessica Straw, both of Milton, Fla.; two brothers, Robert Larson of Milton, Fla., and Jimmie Straw of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Tammy Berry of Sparks and Kathy Heaton of Milton, Fla.; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Living Waters Tabernacle Church in Meeker with the Rev. Donna Morton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.

Barbara Dell Hardimon
Barbara Dell Hardimon, 70, of Oklahoma City died Monday at an Oklahoma City nursing home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Southern Hills Seventh Day Adventist Church in Oklahoma City. Burial will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

Other information is pending with Walker Funeral Service.

Brenda Day
Brenda Day, 60, of Wanette died Sunday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Survivors include her husband Orval Day of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Mike Manuel of Wanette; one son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Jamie Day of Lexington; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harley and Inez Duncan of Rosedale and Donald and Linda Duncan of Dewar; three grandchildren; an aunt, Esther Lair of Texas; and numerous other family members.

Services were 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Horizon Fellowship Church near Wanette with the Rev. William Howse officiating. Burial followed at Rosedale Cemetery under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

John F. Davis
John F. Davis, 70, of Shawnee died Monday at a local nursing home.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Michelle Feltz and husband James of Lake Dallas, Texas; two granddaughters; and a sister, Fannie Mae Mathis of Oklahoma City.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. today at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Glen Pence officiating. Resthaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James Austin Blundell
James Austin Blundell, 76, of Independence, Kan., died Monday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Blundell of the home; son, Mark Blundell of Shawnee; daughters, Kristen Mitchell of San Diego, Greta Moore of Kingwood, Texas, and Elizabeth Woodard of Chickasha; brother, C. Richard "Dick" Blundell of Wilton, Conn.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Friday at the Webb and Rodrick Funeral Home in Independence.

Funeral mass will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Mahn Thapwa officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Independence. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army at Fort Riley, Kan.
