Ramona Leona Mack Yones
Ramona Leona Mack Yones, 79, of Shawnee died Saturday at a local nursing home.

She was born April 14, 1923, in Tecumseh to Henry and Mary (Bullfrog) Mack. She attended OK School in the Pink area and had lived in the Shawnee area all her life.

She married Arthur Franklin Yones. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1990.

She had worked as a nurse most of her life and retired from Colonial Estates after 20 years. She was a member of the First Indian Baptist Church and attended Sunday services at Shawnee Care Center.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Arthur Franklin Yones Jr.; two brothers, William Cody Mack and William Exendine, and two sisters, Emily Littlebear and Cornelia Kaseca.

Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law, James Cody Spybuck of Stillwater, Larry E. and Gloria Spybuck of Shawnee, Arthur Ralph Yones of Shawnee; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Serena Mae and Ken Daugherty of Shawnee, Emily Spybuck Longman of Newalla, Rita Ann and James Pine of Tecumseh; 20 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Dewayne Mack of Shawnee; one niece she raised, Ella Mae Greer Tasier of Shawnee, and many other relatives

Services will be 10 a.m. today at the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee with the Rev. Ellis Rolette officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Verna Lucetta Halstead
Shawnee resident Verna Lucetta Halstead, 79, died Sunday in Shawnee.

She was born in Wayne City, Ill., on April 15, 1923, to Earl and Grace (Shaw) Richardson.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She was married to Robert Lee Halstead and had been a resident of Shawnee since January 2002.

Her parents and one grandson preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Lee Halstead, Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Gary L. and Paula Halstead, Tiffin, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Bob Pickett, Prague; brothers, Glen Richardson, Bluford, Ill.; Owen Richardson, Mount Zion, Ill.; Jim Richardson, Wayne City, Ill.; sister, Vera Webb, Mount Vernon, Ill., six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Prague with John Halstead officiating. Burial will follow at Prague Cemetery.

Jimmie Dodson
Shawnee resident Jimmie Dodson, 65, died Sunday, March 7, in Oklahoma City.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be at the Alexander Family Cemetery. Further arrangements are pending with Cooper Funeral Home.

Beverly Rose Allen
Cushing resident Beverly Rose Allen, 47, died Saturday, March 6, in Claremore.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Sac and Fox Nation Community Building in Stroud with the Rev. Anderson Allen Jr. and the Rev. Larry Butler officiating. Burial will follow in the Sac and Fox Cemetery in Stroud. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.

Mildred Price
Services for Shawnee resident Mildred Price, formerly of Francis, will be 1:30 p.m. today at Criswell Chapel with the Rev. Richard Baily officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Price died Saturday, March 6, at a Shawnee hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley B. Price; son, Wesley Neal Price; four sisters, Edna Bingham, Betty West, Velma West and Gail West; and two brothers, Cleo West and Willie L. West.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Kim Price of Oklahoma City; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy L. and Charles Franklin of Shawnee; three granddaughters, Lisa Price of Marquette, Iowa, Cristi Belshe of Shawnee and Cura Franklin of San Francisco, Calif.; two grandsons, Jeff Price of Davenport, Iowa, and Cody Franklin of Los Angeles, Calif., four great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; three sisters, Nadine Norman of Ada, Thelma Termini of Chouteau and Joan Norton of Sulphur; three brothers, Kenneth West of Quannah, Texas, Gene West of Ada and Wayne West of Kingston.

Criswell Funeral Home of Ada is in charge of arrangements.

Emmigene M. York
Emmigene M. York, 71, Earlsboro, died Friday, March 5, in Norman.

Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Pain officiating.

Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

LeRoy Holt
Shawnee resident LeRoy Holt, 83, died Friday, March 5, in Shawnee.

He was born April 11, 1920, in Oklahoma City to Denton and Dora (Campbell) Holt.

He attended Forrest View School. He moved to Pottawatomie County at age 5 and has lived here since.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and later worked as a self-employed contractor and construction supervisor.

On Nov. 5, 1938, he married Pearl Coody in Tecumseh.

He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God for many years, serving as a deacon for numerous years and as Sunday school superintendent.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, Beatrice Kieffer; two brothers, Donald Holt and Jim Holt; stepsisters, Hadley Hulin and Lerlen Farris; and a stepbrother, Otis Holt.

Surviving are his wife, Pearl Holt, Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Fred Rutherford, Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Sue Holt of Shawnee; and seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Pentecostal Church of God, Tecumseh, with Pastor Fred Owens and Junior Mize officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.

Karen Sue Wolf
Karen Sue Wolf, 45, Seminole, died Tuesday, March 2, west of Seminole.

Service was 2 p.m. Saturday at Little River Mission Church with the Rev. Danny Faulkner officiating. Burial followed in the Wolf Family Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

James Franklin Howard
Seminole resident James Franklin Howard, 69, died Tuesday, March 2, in Seminole County.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday at the family cemeteryat Little River Mission, with Redmond Wolf Sr. officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Thelma Alvina Colwell
Thelma Alvina Colwell, 68, Shawnee, died Friday, March 5, at her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin J. Colwell; two sons, Tommy Ross and Johnny Ross; grandson, Greg Mehagan Jr.; brother, Ray Hart; and sister, Faye Lynn.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Gilbert Ross Sr. and Wanda of Seminole; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darla and Tommy Kearney of Denton, Texas, and Thelma and Richard Cain of the home; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Little Cemetery under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Mildred Louise Price
Former Francis resident Mildred Louise Price, 86, Shawnee, died Saturday, March 6, at a Shawnee hospital.

She was born March 1, 1918, in Francis, to Calvin and Viola Wilson West.

Price attended Cedar Grove and Francis schools.

She lived in this area all her life. She was a bookkeeper at TG&Y Store.

She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

She married Wesley B. Price May 20, 1938. He preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1962.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Neal Price on Jan. 1, 1946; four sisters, Edna Bingham, Betty West, Velma West and Gail West; and two brothers, Vleo West and Willie L. West.

Robert Rowe Eddings
Robert Rowe Eddings, 73, Shawnee, died Thursday, March 4, at a Shawnee hospital.

He was born Feb. 14, 1931, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Woodrow Francis Gibson and Susie M. Haisten. He attended school in Peoria, Ariz.

On Dec. 31, 1952, he married Nina Mae Edmoundson in Phoenix, Ariz.

Eddings served four years in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He worked as a barber at the Criterion Barber Shop, the Aldridge Barber Shop and later Whitten's Barber Shop before retiring in 1979.

He was a member of the Downtown Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans.

Preceding him in death were his parents and infant son, Robert Franklin Eddings.

Survivors are his wife, Nina Eddings, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Fred Robinson of Shawnee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger Franklin and Kelly Eddings of Tecumseh and Doyle and Willina Eddings of Tecumseh; eight grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Dudley and Sheryl Gibson of Sun City West, Ariz., Tom Gibson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Charlie Gibson of Flagstaff, Ariz.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Luther Yancy of Glendale, Ariz., Patty Odgers of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Roselee and Parker Saikley of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Downtown Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. C.C. Atchley and the Rev. Ron Baldridge officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Gaskill Funeral Home.

Carl Bell
Prague resident Carl Vincent Bell, 72, died Friday, March 5, at his home.

He was born Jan. 1, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas, to Carl Joseph Bell and Nina (Stitz) Bell.

He married Ollie Ruth Gentz at Port Neches, Texas, on May 29, 1953.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1970 then began a career at Tinker Air Force Base, where he was employed until his retirement in 1992.

He and his wife moved to Prague in 1993. He was a member of the Paden Free Will Baptist Church and the Okemah Masonic Lodge.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one daughter, Tanya Dee Harding.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Bell, of the home; son and daughter-in-law Carl Vincent Bell Jr. and Michelle, Midwest City; two daughters and one son-in-law, Teri Jean and Paul Bauman, Midwest City, and Cynthia Valeria Bell, McLoud; sister, Jessie Barbara Denver, San Antonio; brother, Robert Jean Bell, Bull Verde, Texas; half-sister, Nancy Richie of San Antonio; half-brother, Donald Luke Richie of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Eastep officiating. Burial will follow in the Prague Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.

Digby Bell
Digby Bell, 79, Shawnee, died Friday, March 5, in Shawnee.

He was born Dec. 12, 1924, in South Bend, Ind., to Kenneth Digby Bell and Berniece Bell.

He married Carol Roberts on Jan. 3, 1985. He received his doctorate from North Texas State University. He was a professor at The University of Oklahoma for more than 40 years in the music department and was the department chair for 25 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shawnee.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his first wife, Elsie Cooke Bell, and son, Stephen Digby Bell.

Surviving are his wife, Carol, of the home; son, Richard Ewing and Clare Bell of Columbus, Ohio; stepdaughter, Elisabeth and Kenneth Beddow of Pauls Valley; five grandchildren, David, Megan and Thomas Bell of Columbus and Julia and Luke Beddow of Pauls Valley.

Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Norman IOOF Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Shawnee with the Rev. Dr. Paul Calmes officiating. Gaskill Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Edna Jessie Quigg
Edna Jessie Quigg, 95, died Tuesday in Cushing.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Bessie and Jack B. Wilson of Davenport; one stepson, Levi Cochran of Oklahoma; one stepdaughter, Donna Mae Chastain of Stroud; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services of Stroud.
