Eric Bruce Hardin Jr.
Longtime Shawnee resident Eric Bruce Hardin Jr., 75, died Friday, March 12, at an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born to Eric B. Hardin Sr. and Blanche (Bergeron) Hardin on Feb. 3, 1929, in Wanette. He married Thelma Tomlinson on Oct. 7, 1953, in Chickasha.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked at Tinker Air Force Base for 37 years as production controller.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Geneva Hardin.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Harden, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Bruce and Cindy Hardin of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Chuck Hawkins of Edmond; four grandchildren, Jade Hardin, Savanah Hardin, Mollie Hawkins and Matthew Bruce Hawkins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura and Jack Oaks of Shawnee, Ruth and Bill Lewis of Ardmore, Mary Ann and Jim McMahan of Shawnee, and many other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. Don Bergeron, George Godfry and the Rev. Elmer Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Jean Marie Oldham
Prague resident Jean Marie Oldham, 78, died Monday, March 15, in Prague.

She was born Dec. 31, 1925, in Shawnee to James Patrick and Beulah Francis (Caldwell) Hathcock.

On Dec. 31, 1950, she married Gene Oldham in Shawnee.

She was a member of Prague Nazarene Church.

She was a homemaker and owned and operated The Shoe Tree in Prague.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Oldham of Prague; three sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Kathy Oldham of Prague, David and Diane Oldham and Devon and Cyndi Oldham, all of Prague; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Oscar Messer of Kendrick, Donna and Jerry McAnally of Prague and Darla and Tom Smith of Woodward; brother, Jerry Hathcock of Prague; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Raymond Holland of Tecumseh; three sisters-in-law, Mae Hathcock of Shawnee, Wanda White of Shawnee and Coyla Bowden of Shawnee; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Prague with the Rev. Charlie Clem officiating. Burial will follow at Garden Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Jessie Laverne Gilbert
McLoud resident Jessie Laverne Gilbert, 75, died Wednesday, March 17, in a McLoud nursing home.

He was born on Nov. 3, 1928, in Barron Fork to George W. and Eva Gilbert.

He was a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Delvina Gilbert and Bonnie Hanna.

Survivors include his eight children, Steve Gilbert, David Gilbert, Timothy Gilbert, Kenneth Gilbert, Roger Gilbert, Anthony Gilbert, Matthew Gilbert and Joyce Allen; two sisters, Opal Leitz of Shawnee and Ruby Payne of Bakersfield, Calif.; and two brothers, John Gilbert of Norman and Chester Gilbert of Bakersfield, Calif.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. Ellis Gregg officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Walker Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Horace Allen
Horace "Hoss" Allen, 75, died Wednesday, March 17.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Downing and Lahey Mortuary East.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee. Memorials may be made to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS, 67202.

Downing and Lahey Mortuaries in Wichita, Kan., are in charge of arrangements.

Marcelle Ebert Goggin
Marcelle Ebert Goggin, 93, of Wellston died Saturday.

Survivors include her husband, Herb Goggin; a sister, Bonnie Ford of Wellston; a daughter, Evelyn Schofield Qualls of Wellston; a stepdaughter, Ruth Ann Hutchison; three grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services are 2 p.m. today at the Wellston Cemetery with Rodney Grantham officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

Alice Aleene Malcom
Alice Aleene Wheeler Malcom, 82, of Tecumseh died Feb. 20 in Shawnee.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kan. Graveside services will follow at Fort Scott National Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Thelma N. Klutts
Shawnee resident Thelma N. Klutts, 92, died Friday in a local nursing home.

She was born Aug. 11, 1910, in Hobart to O. Allen Nabors and Bessie Lorene (Powell) Nabors. She attended school in McGee, Okla. She worked more than 20 years in the warehouse at Newton Wall Co., receiving, stocking and cleaning inventory. She retired in the early 1970s.

On Aug. 17, 1941, she married Escar Winford Klutts in Asher. She had lived in Shawnee since 1941 and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; four brothers, Howe, Loyd, Floyd and Jim; five sisters, IV Morris, Hazel Morris, Bessie Fisher and two who died as young children.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Wanda Cowan and husband Bob of Shawnee; a son, Claud A. Klutts of Shawnee; two grandchildren, Crystal and Jonathan Cowan of Shawnee; a brother, Hue Nabors of Oklahoma City; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glen Pence officiating. Burial follows at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Howard Lee Southerland
Tecumseh resident Howard Lee Southerland, 61, died Friday in Ada.

He was born April 23, 1941, in Sumner, Mo., to Lena Lee Pyle Southerland and Ora Southerland. His family moved to Oklahoma in 1943.

He graduated from Meeker High School in 1959. He lived in Dale until 1996, when he moved to Tecumseh. He was retired from Tinker Air Force Base.

On June 30, 1962, he married Patsy "Pat" Ann Troutman.

Southerland was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Gene Southerland; and a brother, George Southerland.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Pat Southerland, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, LeeAnn and Kirk Washburn of Harrah and Lisa Dawn and Steve Saxon of Seminole; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rosemary and Albert Dugan of Prague, Evelyn and Bob Chinnery of Independence, Mo., and Lois Jean Earlywine of Smithville Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Laverne Southerland of Edmond and Dovie Lucy of Shawnee; five grandchildren, Chase and Shane Washburn and Devon, Saulyer and Stevany Dawn Saxon; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Downtown Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Ron Baldridge officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Eva Hollingsworth
Eva Hollingsworth, 84, of Tecumseh died Wednesday in Shawnee.

She was born July 24, 1918, in Morrilton, Ark., to Isiah J. and Sally Ann (Ferguson) Evans. She attended Shawnee Schools.

On Nov. 25, 1942, she married D.L. Hollingsworth in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1998.

She was a homemaker and had lived in Tecumseh since 1980.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving relatives include a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Doris Petrie of El Paso, Texas; and friends Tom and Deloris Pruitt and Bill and Donna Caskey, all of Tecumseh.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B., of St. Benedict Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Troy Quinn
Stroud resident Troy Cleo Quinn, 81, died Friday in Stroud.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles C. and Linda Quinn, Vernon L. and Shirley Quinn and David D. and Janice Quinn, all of Stroud; two brothers, Cletis Quinn of Prague and Coy Quinn of Indianaoplis, Ind.; two sisters, Liness Rich of Depew and Selma Anderson of Milfay; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel of Prague with the Rev. Paul Heard officiating. Burial will follow at Kellerby Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.

Audrey Kruezberg
Tecumseh resident Audrey Kruezberg, 88, died Friday in Maud.

She was born Sept. 15, 1914, in Macomb to Virgil and Gertie Jane (Minyard) Jackson. She attended school at Forest View and was reared in Macomb. She lived in Tecumseh for several years and recently moved to Maud.

She married F.J. Kreuzberg, Feb. 2, 1933, in Shawnee. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1991.

Kreuzberg worked at the University of Oklahoma from 1946-1960 as a cook. She then worked at Tecumseh Public School as a cook until her retirement. She attended the Full Gospel Assembly Church of Tecumseh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Jim Hardin of Broken Arrow; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry Kreuzberg of Maud and Ken and Jan Kreuzberg of Yukon; two sisters, Mary Jeffers of Tecumseh and Dorothy Lloyd of Shawnee; a brother and sister-in-law, Elbert and JoAnn Jackson of Tecumseh; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Carl Upton of Free Pentecostal Church of Maud officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery with Cooper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Frances Deloise Hamilton
Frances Deloise Hamilton, 60, Norman, died Thursday at Shawnee Care Center.

Survivors include her mother, Louise Doakes, Shawnee; daughters and sons-in-law, Terrell and Robert Dockrey, Shawnee, Kovetta and Gary Turner, Aurora, Colo., and Etta Garvin; brother, Billy Doakes, Shawnee; sisters, Joneva Hairston, Shawnee, Betty Green, Shawnee, and Freeatta Doakes-Harper, Norman; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Union Baptist Church in Shawnee with the Rev. Wilburn and the Rev. Tripplett officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Erma Faye Kinder
Tryon resident Erma Faye Kinder, 87, died Thursday at her residence.

Services are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.

Ruth Underwood
Shawnee resident Ruth Underwood, 84, died Thursday at a local hospital.

Services are pending with Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Charles R. Morgan
Meeker resident Charles R. "Charley" Morgan, 70, died Wednesday at his home.

He was born in Ada on Dec. 23, 1932, to Cyrus Morgan and Mary (Mayfield) Morgan.

He grew up in Ada, attended Ada Public Schools, graduated from Ada High School and later attended East Central University.

He worked as a salesman with C&H Wholesale for about 17 years and later for Sullivan Wholesale for about 10 years.

He married Patricia Ann Holland on June 13, 1953 in Ada. He later married Debbie Knowles in 1978 in Shawnee.

He served in the U.S. Army 45th Infantry for six years during the Korean War.

A member of the Wallace Avenue Baptist Church, Shawnee, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, he lived in the Meeker area for about 10 years.

His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Morgan, of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Debbie Morgan, Camarillo, Calif., and Charles A. "Tony" Morgan, Shawnee; three daughters and a son-in-law, RoxAnne Elaine Cullison, Tulsa; LaCrecia Sue and Martin Parks of Pawhuska and Tamara Kay Edde, Shawnee; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law David and Rosemary Morgan, Norman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee, under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
