Mauvline Joyce Dowdy
Shawnee resident Mauvline Joyce Dowdy, 73, died Saturday in Shawnee.

She was born Sept. 20, 1928, in Shawnee to Charles M. Dowdy and Pearl (Mansfield) Dowdy Henson.

Dowdy worked as a secretary at Tinker Air Force Base before retiring in 1993.

She attended the Liberty Baptist Church of Shawnee and lived in Tulsa before moving to Shawnee.

Dowdy was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a sister, Alta Lynam of Shawnee; a brother and sister-in-law, Hubert and Zelma Dowdy of Hastings, Okla.; two nephews; a niece; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and friends, Tom and Lola Ellis of Yukon, Sylvia Harvey and Zabrinna Mayres.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Matthews and the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating.

Darla Heinzig
Seminole resident Darla Heinzig, 62, died Saturday at a Shawnee hospital.

Funeral services are pending under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.

Freda Bowie
Freda Bowie, 81, Lubbock, formerly of Shawnee, died Tuesday in Lubbock, Texas.

She was born in Shawnee on March 9, 1922.

She married Thomas Dobry Sr., who preceded her in death when he was killed in action during World War II, in 1944.

In 1946, she married Paul Bowie. He preceded her in death 1981.

Bowie worked at Douglas Aircraft during WW II and at Litton Industries in the 1960s.

She also was an antique and flea market dealer. She had lived in Lubbock since 1951 and was of the Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Dobry Jr. and Ric Bowie; and two sisters, Frances Engels and Mary Baker.

Survivors include one daughter, Diana Bowie, Lubbock; two sons and their wives, Timothy and Mary Bowie, Colorado Springs, Colo., and David and Denise Bowie, Pueblo, Colo.; stepson, John Robert and wife Marilu Bowie, Oklahoma; sister, Peggy Novotny, McAllen, Texas; two daughters-in-law, Tricia Dobry and Betty Bowie, both of Lubbock; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction Resthaven Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lubbock, 1102 Slide Road, suite 3, Lubbock, Texas 79416.

Mary B. Collin
Mary B. (White) Collin, Shawnee, 88, died Wednesday in Shawnee.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Shawnee, with the Rev. Art Scrutchins officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Further information is pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home.

Grace Masquas
Shawnee resident Grace Thompson Masquas, 83, died Friday, April 2, in Oklahoma City.

She was born March 10, 1921, in Cushing to Sarah and John Thompson.

She graduated from Chilocco Indian School and attended school at Milfay. She retired from the Lawton Indian Hospital and also worked for the Shawnee Medical Center. She married Joe N. Masquas, who preceded her in death. She then married Ben Delaware, who also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Sac and Fox Tribe of Mississippi in Iowa and also the Sac and Fox Nation in Oklahoma.

Survivors include her daughter, Minnie Rochelle, Shawnee; grandson, Calvin W. Rowe Jr., Shawnee; three foster daughters, Ashley, Amy and Cheyenne Ellis; and sister, Marlene Murdock, McLoud.

Tribal rites will be today at the home of Raymond Massey, Stroud. Burial will be in Hunter Cemetery, Stroud.

Service is under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Deena M. Whiteshirt
Shawnee resident Deena M. Whiteshirt, 56, died Friday, April 2, at an Oklahoma City Hospital.

She was born Nov. 19, 1947, in Shawnee to Albert and Mary (Grass) Clark. Whiteshirt graduated from Earlsboro High School and Seminole State College in 2002 and attended Haskell Institute.

She worked for Oklahoma City Indian Health Services for more than 20 years and also for Sac and Fox Nation in Stroud. She married Ronnie Dean Whiteshirt. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include his four children and spouse, Michael and Grace Cannon of Tucson, Ariz., Lawrence Whiteshirt of Shawnee, Ada Whiteshirt of Shawnee and Anthony Whiteshirt of Shawnee; seven grandchildren, including Mary Lorraine Whiteshirt of the home; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carla and Wil Honeyestewa of Albuquerque, N.M., and Bonnie and Larry Heminokeky of Shawnee; and several nieces and nephews.

Tribal rites will be today at Sac and Fox Nation Community Building in Stroud. Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at Sac and Fox Nation Cemetery in Stroud. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Manilla B. McMahan
Tecumseh resident Manilla McMahan, 83, died Friday, April 2, in Tecumseh.

She was born Jan. 13, 1921, in Tecumseh to W.M. and Icye (Cypert) Neighbors. She was a 1940 graduate of Tecumseh High School.

On May 11, 1941, she married Frank J. "Jack" McMahan in Tecumseh. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1999.

She worked as a merchandise control supervisor for Sears and retired on April 30, 1983, after 32 years of service. McMahan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tecumseh and was active in her Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Sonny Neighbors.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Luanne McMahan, Tecumseh; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Rodney Pryor, Norman; six grandchildren, Ty McMahan, Norman, Tim McMahan, Tecumseh, Patrick Pryor, Stephanie Pryor and Amy Pryor, all of Norman; and Rodney D. Pryor and his wife, Sarah, Shawnee.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Craig officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery. Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charles W. Beck
Charles William Beck, 71, died Friday, April 2.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Capitol Hill Assembly of God, 2400 SW 74th. The family will receive friends at a special viewing 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Guardian West Funeral Home, 5820 N.W. 41st, in Oklahoma City.

Robert Truman Dysinger
Robert Truman Dysinger, 58, Shawnee, died Wednesday.

He was born June 14, 1943, in Delta, Mo., to Delmar David Dysinger and Pearl K. Dysinger.

He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Central State University, Edmond. He was working on his doctorate degree with American Christian College/Seminary in Oklahoma City.

He was pastor of Sallateeska Baptist Church. He had served as pastor of several churches, including Penn Avenue Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, Ideal Street Baptist Church, Seminole, and Sallateeska Baptist Church, Shawnee.

He married Mary Judith (Judy) Bellis on March 21, 1964, in Chaffee, Mo. They remained married for 38 years.

He was a member of Jaycees in Chaffee, Mo. He served as a preacher and volunteer at the Grace Rescue Mission. He also served as a Bible teacher at Boley Correctional Institution, Boley.

Preceding him in death were his mother and father, one brother, Charles Dysinger; sister Minnie Agnus Dysinger; and one grandchild, Steven Charles Dysinger.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Judith Dysinger of the home; two sons, Timothy Dysinger and Christopher Dysinger, both of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Debra Ann Richards, Shawnee, and Victoria Dysinger, Norman; 10 grandchildren, Melissa Simon, Rhonne Lynn Simon, Candace Dysinger, Megain Dysinger, Michael Dysinger, Travis Richards, Paul Dysinger, Jacob Dysinger, Martie Marie Richards and Aaron Dysinger; and two brothers, William Dysinger of Chaffe, Mo., and David Dysinger of Jackson, Mo.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Sallateeska Baptist Church, Shawnee. Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Theresa F. Murphy
Theresa F. Murphy, 64, Wellston, died Thursday in Wellston.

She was born Aug. 18, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., to Frank and Martha (Roter) Carbonara.

She married James L. Murphy in Guthrie on Oct. 11, 1958. He preceded her in death in 1998.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Wellston Christian Church.

In addition to her husband, she also was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include her son, James Lee Murphy, Wellston; daughters, Teri Fieselman, Wellston, and Lynda Murphy, Choctaw; sisters, Patty Carbonara, Highland Park, Ill., and Boots O'Cane, Lumbart, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Justin, Jeremeh, James, Jennifer, Becky, Derek, Aleecia and Christopher; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Wellston. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Wellston Christian Church with the Rev. Kenny Violette officiating. Burial will follow at the Wellston Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler.

Paul Edward States
Paul Edward States, 45, of Shawnee died Friday in Shawnee.

Survivors include his wife, Karen States of Shawnee; son, Matthew Scholl of Russellville, Ark.; parents, Edward and Esta States of Shawnee; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Tina States of Prague; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Garden Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Michael McCauley officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Tom Killingsworth
Tom Killingsworth, 50, of Shawnee died Wednesday at his residence.

He was born Nov. 24, 1952, in Shawnee to John H. and Norma (Spears) Killingsworth.

He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in history. He was head football manager for the OU Sooners National Championship team in 1974.

He worked at Central Plastics.

He married Annette Valliere on Aug. 3, 1983, in Norman.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shawnee. He was the former president of the Shawnee Gun Club. As an Eagle Scout, he attended a New Zealand National Jamboree at Christchurch, New Zealand.

Survivors include his parents; son, John Franklin Killingsworth; daughter, Katherine "Katie" Renee Killingsworth; sister and brother-in-law, Susan Killingsworth and Ken Caderet of Shawnee; aunts and uncles, Mrs. Margaret Urns, Mrs. George Etta Emerson, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Penuel and Cecil Spears; cousins, Mike Weldon, Dallas, Ed Killingsworth, Baton Rouge, Robert Burns of Nashville and Caroline Mitchell and George Emerson; and nephews, Daniel and Andrew Cadaret.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Paul Calmes officiating. Services are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Mildred L. Medved
Oklahoma City resident Mildred L. Medved, 68, died Thursday in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Leona Medved of Harrah and Kenneth and Renee Medved of Ada; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill Wilson of Meeker and Sonny and Marge Dean of Prague; grandchildren, Joshua and Jarod Medved and Tina and Sonny Dye, all of Harrah, Tamara and Mike Ellis of Choctaw and Kenneth Jr. and Jenny Medved of Oklahoma City; four stepgrandchildren, Patrick, Colton and Travis Reeves of Ada and Corey Chandler of Shawnee; and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Gable Cemetery of Meeker with the Rev. Donna Morton officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service of Harrah.
