Claude D. & Beulah P. Long
A graveside memorial service will be noon Saturday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, Seminole, to bury the cremains of Claude Dale Long, 71, and his wife, Beulah Pauline Long, 80.

Claude Dale Long, 71, died Sept. 5, 1996, in Joplin, Mo.

He was born May 9, 1925, in Sumner, Texas, to Andrew Clovis and Nora (Blagg) Long.

On May 28, 1949, he married Beulah Pauline (Hall) Long in Yuma, Ariz.

Beulah Pauline Long, 80, died Jan. 20, 2004, in Girard, Kan.

She was born Sept. 8, 1923, in Stigler to John and Bonnie (Altstatt) Hall.

They were former Seminole residents who moved to Cherokee in 1990.

He served in the U.S. Navy and the Merchant Marines during World War II. Long worked as a foreman for the Iron Workers Union Local No. 48 in Oklahoma City until he retired in 1972.

Mrs. Long was a homemaker.

Survivors include their son, James A. Long of Wolf; nine daughters, Betty Crowe, Debbie Bennett, Nora Hoover, Mary Long, Sheila Whittenburg and Kathy Frasher, all of Cherokee, Peggy Russell of Holdenville, Cytha Johnson of Marshfield, Wis., and Nancy Plumley of Shawnee; 34 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

John Wesley Spoon Sr.
Shawnee resident John Wesley Spoon, Sr., 54, died Tuesday, May 18, in Oklahoma City.

He was born Sept. 8, 1949, in Shawnee to Caroline Bertie Spoon.

He attended school at New Hope and Tecumseh.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

On Aug. 6, 2003, he married Peggy Dodson.

He worked as a power lineman for Electrical Line Service for many years.

He was a member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe.

He was preceded in death by his mother and daughter, Kimberly Spoon.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Spoon, of the home; son, John Wesley Spoon Jr. of Ft. Smith, Ark.; two daughters, Tanya Ann Wilson and ShaVonne Presley, both of Ardmore; nine grandchildren; stepson, Ted Pinkston of Moore; stepdaughter, Terri Gibson of Moore; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Cheryl Murdock of Tecumseh; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda and James Deer of Shawnee, Anna and Ron Woods of Choctaw and Tawana and Ronald Greenfield of Edmond; and many nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery.

Dinner will be provided at the Spoon Family Home following the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Dorothy LaFoy
Dorothy (Meeker) LaFoy, 94, of Shawnee, died Friday at a local nursing home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. Further announcements are pending.

Jessie Mae Drummond
Jessie Mae Drummond, 81, of Shawnee died Friday in Shawnee.

Services are pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

George Teafatiller
Tecumseh resident George Teafatiller, 51, died Friday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Services are pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Baby boy Frazier-Nance
Baby boy Frazier-Nance died Friday, the day of his birth, in Shawnee.

He is survived by his parents, Eva Frazier and Eric Nance, of McLoud.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. today at the Gibson Family Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

John Leroy Charkowske
John Leroy Charkowske, 76, of Edmond died Wednesday.

He was born Nov. 16, 1925, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to John and Jessie King (McCreay).

He married Lois Jean Charkowske June 3, 1950, in Coldwater, Mich.

Charkowske enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II and the Korean conflict.

In 1953, he went to work for the civil service, where he became head photographer at Vandenburg Air Force Base in Lompoc, Calif.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Chandler.

He was preceded in death by his father and wife, Lois.

He is survived by his mother of Chandler; two sons, Mark Charkowske of Fresno, Calif., and John K. Charkowske of Chandler; four grandchildren, John D. Charkowske of Chandler Shaun Charkowske of Chandler, Christopher Charkowske, of Chandler, and Amy Charkowske of Fresno, Calif.; two brothers-in-law, Bernard Fillmore and Leon Fillmore, both of Coldwater, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Betty Abott of Greenfield, Mich.; and other relatives and many friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Assembly of God Church in Chandler with the Rev. Doyle Seely officiating. Burial will follow at the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

Ruby McClure
Ruby McClure, 91, Escondido, Calif., died Wednesday.

McClure was born Feb. 10, 1941, in Sparks to Daniel Boone and Lena E. Lightfoot Cowan. She was a retired school teacher, having taught for more than 30 years.

She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Escondido.

McClure married O.M. Cearly and later married Earl McClure.

Both husbands, her parents, a brother and three sisters preceded her in death.

Survivors include, a brother, Richard Cowan, Olney, Ill.; two sisters, Pauline Jackie Canant, Chandler and Bonnie D. White, Las Vegas, Nev.; and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Monday at White Dove Cemetery Sparks, the Rev. Doyle Seeley officiating. Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler is in charge of arrangements.

Donald Lee Smith
Donald Lee Smith, 67, of Seminole died Tuesday at a Shawnee hospital

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Smith of the home; one son, Steve Smith of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Gwen Smith of Shawnee and Marion Smith of Norman; one brother, Allan Smith of Altoona, Pa.; one sister, Bonnie Harter of Altoona, Pa.; and one grandchild, Alec Smith.

Services will be 9 a.m. Friday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel. Burial will be 3 p.m. at Little Elm Cemetery in Frisco, Texas, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Ina Mae Francis Lucy
Ina Mae Francis (Willis) Lucy, 81, of Ada died Tuesday at an Ada care center.

She is survived by her husband, Hiley, of the home; two daughters, Brenda McKinley, of Byars and Beth Owens of Choctaw; two sons, Willard Fitzwater of Chickasha and Cody Fitzwater of Tilly, Ark.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Maud with Pastor Willard Fitzwater officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud.

Pearl Brashier
Pearl Brashier, 82, Prague, died Wednesday in Prague. Services are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.

Ruby Iris McClure
Ruby Iris McClure died Wednesday in Escondido, Calif. Services are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral SErvice in Chandler.

John Leroy Charkowske
John Leroy Charkowske, 76, died Wednesday in Edmond. Services are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

Kenneth L. Addington
Seminole resident Kenneth L. Addington, 86, died Monday, May 17, in Oklahoma City.

He was born March 21,1918, to Walker L. and Maudie (Combs) Addington, in Seminole County.

He was a member of the Bowlegs Assembly of God Church.

He worked at farming, in factories and in sales before starting his own business. He owned restaurants in Stroud and Paden, a flower shop and furniture store in Prague and lastly Addington's One Stop in Seminole now called the "Catfish Round-up Restaurant." He retired in 1984.

On Dec. 15, 1937, he married Audrey M. (Landrum) Addington in Seminole County. She preceded him in death in July 1988.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and sister, Myrtle (Addington) Jones.

Survivors include his two sons, Gene Addington and wife, Judy, of Martinsville, Ind., and Bob M. Addington and wife, Qualla, of Louisville, Ky..; brother, Roy Gurley of Seminole; two sisters, Pauline (Gurley) Patterson and Esteen (Gurley) Scott, both of Seminole; four grandchildren, Brent and Mike Cotton and family and Jeff Addington and his wife; Brenda Mitchell; five great-grandchildren; and caretaker, Joyce Martin.

Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Bowlegs Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Roy Robertson officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Freddie Joe McAnally
Prague resident Freddie Joe McAnally, 46, died Tuesday, May 18, at his home.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Calvary Way Church in Prague with the Rev. Starland Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Prague Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Christian Sullivan
Seminole resident Christian "Christy" (Cox) Sullivan, 33, died Monday, May 17, in Seminole.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Brown Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Hudson officiating.

Viewing will be noon Friday.

Other information is pending with Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Oscar W. Reynolds
Oscar W. Reynolds, 89, of Shawnee died Wednesday.

He was born Jan. 10, 1913, in Gilmer, Texas, to Charlie and Lula (White) Reynolds.

He was reared in the Sulfur area and lived in Shawnee for almost 46 years.

He married Vera Postlewait on May 13, 1938, in Seminole.

He retired November 1968 as an aircraft mechanic from Tinker Air Force Base. He was a sergeant with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include his wife Vera Reynolds of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Wayne Reynolds of Norman and Don and Bonita Reynolds of Shawnee; one granddaughter, Ariel Reynolds of Shawnee; one grandson, Ryan Reynolds of Norman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Assembly of God of Tecumseh with the Rev. Robert Rider and the Rev. Chad Brodrick officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
