Dorothy A. Schornick
Shawnee resident Dorothy Schornick, 74, died Thursday at a local hospital.

She was born Aug. 31, 1927, in Asher to Dovie Sharp and Marion Johnson.

She graduated from Konawa High School and married Robert N. Schornick Oct. 16, 1945. He preceded her in death after 52 years of marriage.

She also was preceded in death by an infant son, Robin Robert Schornick.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Linda Schornick of Prague; two daughters and a son-in-law, LaDawn Stevenson of Dallas and Helen and John McKenzie of Oklahoma City; three grandsons and spouses, Donnie and Lisa Schornick of Checotah, Robert and Paula Schornick of Shawnee and Josh and Jennifer McKenzie of Oklahoma City; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Norma Johnson of McLoud and Pauline Johnson of Shawnee.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.

Raymond R. Dice
Raymond R. Dice, 79, of Seminole died Wednesday in his home.

He is survived by his wife, Verna M. Dice of the home; two sons, Ronney Dice of Seminole and Richard Dice of Oregon; a daughter, Glenda Hackett, of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Doyle Long officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Stella Juanita Overstreet
Stella Juanita Overstreet died Tuesday.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Barbara Overstreet of Newcastle and Roy and Debbie Overstreet of Oklahoma City; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Gail and Fred Hembree of Shawnee, Kay Fowler and Bill Whaler of Yukon and Jim and Joyce Fullbright of Tecumseh; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.

William "W.D." Collins
William "W.D." Collins of Shawnee died Sunday, May 23, at the age of 95.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Matthews officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Collins was born in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Thomas E. and Maggie (Ragsdale) Collins. He was raised around Prague, Meeker and Shawnee.

He was a longtime member of Liberty Baptist Church and Disabled American Veterans and was a member of the American Legion for 60 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Edna Marie Vanhorn Collins, a brother and four sisters.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Glen and Freda Collins, Gene and Edna Collins, Thomas and Joy Collins, all of Shawnee; Freddy and Terry Collins of Paden; daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Roy Cloud of Texas, Phyllis and Jim Keeley of Tecumseh, Betty Spiller of Tecumseh; 33 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Susan M. Dexter
Midwest City resident Susan M. Dexter died Friday, May 21, at a local hospital. She was 55.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gaskill Funeral Chapel with burial at Garden Grove Cemetery of Meeker. The Rev. Larry Sparks will officiate.

She was born Aug. 20, 1948, in Red Bluff, Calif., the daughter of Bennie and Marie (Leonard) Roberts. She attended Meeker schools and was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church.

She and her husband Gary celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on April 30.

Preceding her in death were her father; a son, Joey Frederickson; a brother, Lynn Neely, and father-in-law, Mervin Dexter.

Surviving are her husband, Gary Dexter, Midwest City; her mother, Marie Roberts, Meeker; mother-in-law, Alverda Dexter, Big Cabin; sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Glenn Hall, Meeker; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Amy Roberts, Newalla; Marvin and Brandi Roberts, Tecumseh; sister-in-law, Sharon Williams, Norman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Shirley Dexter, Eureka, Calif.; granddaughters, Ramona Roberts and Jennae Roberts, and many other relatives.

Esther Marie Hackworth
Esther Marie Hackworth, 85, of Carney died Monday, May 24, in Chandler.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church in Carney with the Rev. Lorn Starling officiating. Burial will follow at Carney Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

Martha Sharp
Martha (Epperson) Sharp, 64, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Saturday, May 22, in Fort Worth.

Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Shawnee with Rodney Bottoms officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Troy Elbert Morris
Troy Elbert Morris, 70, of Shawnee, died Saturday, May 22, at a Midwest City hospital.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Dale Cemetery with Mark Patterson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Service, Oklahoma City.

Kenneth Cravens
Kenneth Cravens, 77, of Tecumseh died Sunday, May 23, at a Tecumseh nursing home.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Gaskill Funeral Home.

Lucille Edgin
Lucille Edgin, 82, of Shawnee died Monday, May 24, at a local hospital.

Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Tecumseh Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Hortence Jackson
Longtime Konawa resident Hortence "Dutch" Jackson, 94, died Monday, May 24, in Pauls Valley Hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with the Rev. Charley Henthorn and the Rev. Wade Harelson officiating. Burial will be at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Russ Hart
Tecumseh resident Russ Hart, 57, died Wednesday, May 26, in Oklahoma City.

Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel.

Other information is pending with Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Robert Dale Dagenhart
Maud resident Robert Dale Dagenhart, 59, died Tuesday in Maud.

He was born May 3, 1944, in Idabel, to James William and Mary Jane (McCollie) Dagenhart.

He was reared in Idabel, and also lived in Bethel Acres.

He had lived in Maud for the past seven years.

He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

On Sept. 5, 1974, he married Carolyn Davison.

He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

His parents and four brothers preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Dagenhart of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, John David and Tresa Dagenhart of Clarksville, Texas; and Charlie and Kelley Dagenhart of Blossom, Texas; four grandchildren, Heather, Meagan, Dalton, Jordan and Caleb; two brothers, A.G. Dagenhart and Glen Dagenhart, both of Valliant, four sisters, Pat Baggs of Batiste, Virginia Meek of Missouri, Helen Bartlett of Pauls Valley and Alice Tucker of Texas.

Clifton Anderson
Former Shawnee resident Clifton Anderson, Henderson, Texas, died Tuesday in Henderson.

He is survived by two children, Mary Ann Anderson Mullican of Dallas, Texas; and John Clifton Anderson Jr., of Austin, Texas; daughter-in-law Christine Nitz Anderson, stepdaughters Lynnda Tiano and husband Bert of Los Alamos, N.M., and Betsy Cadenhead and husband Jim, Marshall, Texas; stepson Roddy Landon of Houston, Texas; a sister, Lois Anderson Rogers of Henderson, Texas; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Henderson, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson, Texas.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 1750, Henderson, Texas, 75653; American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 701, Henderson, Texas, 75653; or Multiple Sclerosis, 2105 Luna Road, Suite 390, Carrollton, Texas, 75006.

Burial will be at Cummings Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Faye Dora Price
Former Sparks resident Faye Dora Price, Oklahoma City, 89, died Thursday in Oklahoma City.

Services are pending and will be announced by Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Maymie A. Gentry
Maymie A. Gentry, 88, of Tecumseh died Wednesday in Tecumseh.

She was born Jan. 22, 1915, in Non to Arthur and Marie (Tharp) Sanford.

She moved to Tecumseh in 1953. On Dec. 21, 1935, she married R.B. Gentry in Calvin.

She was a homemaker. After her children were raised, she worked at Ray's Laundry and Copeland's Laundry for several years.

She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Non.

Gentry was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter, Laverne (Gentry) Gokey; a brother, Warren Sanford; and four sisters, Lena Cathey, Lou Wesselhoft, Floy Tanner and Effie Sanford.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Orville Gentry of Oklahoma City, Dee and Brenda Gentry of Shawnee, Randy and Chris Gentry of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Sheldon and Carla Gentry of Tecumseh; daughters and sons-in-law, Merle and Paul Buckmaster of Shawnee, Monnie and Larry Wright of Shawnee and Beverly and Olen Hughes of Shawnee; brothers, Link Sanford of Lindsay, J.C. Sanford of Non and Kinley Sanford of Coalgate; sisters, Leta Gray of Shawnee and Marie Bruce of Wichita Falls, Texas; 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Kerbo officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

The casket will remain open at the funeral home until 12:45 p.m. Friday.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Lorena (Acord) Melson
Longtime Chandler resident Lorena (Acord) Melson, 80, died Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

She was born July 23, 1922, in Coal Hill, Ark., to John Hartel and Anna Elizabeth (Sexton) Acord.

Her family traveled to the Chandler and Davenport area in a covered wagon when she was 7 years old. She attended Morning Star and then Davenport Schools and graduated from Davenport High School in 1941.

She married Mark Leo Melson in Stroud on Sept. 9, 1941. They lived in rural Chandler and had nine children.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Chandler, where she held various offices in the Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson and one granddaughter.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Leo Melson, of the home; six sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Gaye Melson, James Melson, Mark E. and Carol Melson, Mike and Sheila Melson, Rick and Darla Melson and Gene and Edna Melson, all of Chandler; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Darrell Anderson of Chandler, Shirley and Eugene Holleman of Chandler and Barbara and Allen Smith of Oklahoma City; one brother, Leon Acord of Chandler; one sister, Wanda Morris of Woodlands, Texas; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A prayer vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Chandler. Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. David Lafferty officiating. Burial will be at the Catholic Cemetery in Chandler, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

Alma Joyce Mullinax
Alma Joyce Mullinax, 75, of Wewoka died Wednesday at a Wewoka nursing home.

Surviving relatives include a son, Larry Mullinax of Norman; a daughter, Linda O'Donnell of Bixby; two brothers, Wayne Edmunds of Big Cabin and Doyle Edmunds of Hollister, Calif.; a sister, Vera DeShazer of Richardson, Texas; and three grandchildren.

No services are planned. Burial will be in Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
