Mary Francis (Bell) Ludlum
Shawnee resident Mary Frances (Bell) Ludlum, 79, died Monday at her home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. Glenn Peck officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

The family will receive visitors at noon Thursday at Walker Funeral Service.

She was born in Antlers on Jan. 27, 1924, to Floyd Bell and Mary Jane Bell. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1943 and lived most of her life in Texas and Oklahoma.

A homemaker and mother, she was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the V.F.W.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include her daughter, Earlene Parker, Macomb; daughter and son-in-law, Billie Sue and Richard Byers, Pagosa Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren, Paul Byron Beesley, Jr. and Cynthia Jarae Finneran of Norman; Moriah Shanahan of Eugene, Ore.; Erin Byers, Oklahoma City; Matthew Cole Byers, Denver, Colo.; six great-grandchildren, and one sister, Tawane Bell, Houston, Texas.

Harrie Jay Guhl
Harrie Jay Guhl, 82, of Shawnee died Tuesday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born March 23, 1920, in Toronto, Kan., to William G. and Minnette (Elsworth) Guhl. He started school in Seminole and attended high school and junior college in Hutchinson, Kan.

He worked many years as a field mechanic in the service pipeline for Standard Oil Company. After retiring, he worked for Bigheart Pipeline of Tulsa. He later worked as an electrician at the Alfred P. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City.

Guhl married Colleen Evans on Sept. 20, 1945, in Stafford, Kan. He joined the Army in October 1941 in the tank division. After being injured, he served in the Air Force and played in the Air Force Band. He was discharged in February 1945.

He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and Disabled American Veterans. He was a Shawnee resident since 1966, when he moved from Fort Madison, Iowa.

Guhl was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Minnis.

Surviving are his wife, Colleen, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Will Parker of Shawnee, Dixie and Richard Jacobs of Longmont, Colo.; sons and daughter-in-law, Joe and Joyce Guhl of Oklahoma City, Sam Guhl of Shawnee; five grandchildren, Sarah Parker, Jeff Jacobs, Courtney Guhl, Kiersten Guhl and Kassi Guhl; two great-grandchilren; two sisters, Georgene Maggard of Fort Worth, Texas, and Marthell Post of Langley, Okla., and many other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Goins and the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at Stafford Cemetery in Stafford, Kan. Arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Grace Irene Coats
Grace Irene Coats, 91, died Saturday at a Yukon nursing home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. Sam Hendry officiating.

Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Further announcements will be made by Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee.

Richard Leon Ayers
Tecumseh resident Richard Leon Ayers, 57, died Sunday in Shawnee.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at First Assembly of God, Tecumseh, the Rev. Chad Brodrick and Rev. Robert Rider officiating.

Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral home, Tecumseh.

Ayers was born in Tulsa on April 9, 1945, to Raymond and Helen (Tate) Ayers.

He graduated from Tulsa Webster High School. He worked as a cook and an attendant at a service station.

He also worked in the Job Corps for a year.

He moved to Tecumseh in 1973 and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Tecumseh, where he was active in the Royal Rangers and the youth group.

Ayers was active in the MDA fund raisers and the Tecumseh Golden Age Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donnie Ayers.

Survivors include his uncle and aunt, Elzie and Repard Tate of Irving, Texas; two aunts, Maryane Tate, Shawnee, and Louise Tate, Tecumseh; numerous cousins and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard Ayers Memorial Fund, in care of First Assembly of God Church, Tecumseh.

Elva May Woodard
Elva May Woodard, 90, of Shawnee died Sunday.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Jo Henderson; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church under the direction of Cremation Society of Oklahoma City.

Ethan Dakota Crawford
Ethan Dakota Crawford, infant son of Royal (Crawford) Nunnelly, died Sunday at a Seminole hospital

Survivors include parent, Royal (Crawford) Nunnelly of the home in Seminole; great-grandmother, Viola Smith; five aunts, two uncles; and sisters, Roxanne and Helena Nunnelly of the home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Little Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Morrison officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Allie M. Ray
Allie M. Ray, 79, of Shawnee died Sunday at a local nursing home.

She was born Dec. 1, 1923, in Trenton, Mo.

She married Willard L. "Bill" Ray on March 20, 1943, in Santa Ana, Calif. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1992.

Ray moved to California with her parents, where she met and married her husband. She moved to Shawnee in the early 1980s.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Verl Underwood of Shawnee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Linda Ray of Oregon City, Ore., and Clifford and Cheryl Ray of Elk Grove, Calif.; grandchildren, Scott and Debby Underwood, Bryan and Michelle Underwood, Steven and Julie Underwood, Randy Ray, Christaine Schultz, James Ray and Katie Ray; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Private services were held today. Arrangements were under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Sylvia M. Swinford
Sylvia M. Swinford, 97, of Prague died Monday in Prague.

She was born to James W. and Josephine V. (Smith) Marsh and lived in Prague since 1986.

She was a homemaker and a school teacher.

She taught in Wichita, Kan., for 19 years before retiring.

She married Leland C. Swinford on Sept. 11, 1937. He preceded her in death June 5, 1992.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include a brother, Woodrow Marsh, Hennessey; sisters and brother-in-law, Hope and Don Emerson of Brookings, Ore.; sister-in-law, Edna Mae Marsh of Prague; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Raines officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden Grove Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.

Loraine Elva Jones
Former Konawa resident Loraine Elva (Rhinehart) Jones, 100, died Sunday in Topeka, Kan.

Survivors include a son, Theron Jones of Tuttle; three daughters, Nadine Novick of Hot Springs, Ark., Maxine Thomas of Oklahoma City and Betty Flake of Topeka, Kan; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church of Konawa with the Rev. Pam Shirk officiating. Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home.

Candi Fay Cotten
Candi Fay Cotten, 19, of Shawnee died Tuesday.

She was born July 5, 1983, in Shawnee.

Cotten had attended school in Shawnee and Earlsboro.

She had lived in Shawnee most of her life.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Jenny and Jimmy Pickard of the home; one sister, Brittany Johnson of the home; one brother, Kevin Fullbright of Oklahoma City; and grandparents, Bob and Pauline Genzer of Shawnee and Freda and Everett Pickard of Shawnee.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Garden Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Carlon Eugene Wood
Carlon Eugene Wood, 80, Stratford, died Tuesday.

Surviving are two brothers, Eual Wood, Oklahoma City, and Billy Joe Wood, Tecumseh; and sisters, Naomi Tucker, Oklahoma City, and Joyce Wood, Stillwater.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Lewis Perry officiating. Burial will follow at McGee Cemetery under the direction of Pickard Funeral Home, Stratford.

Mason Dale Hampton
Mason Dale Hampton, 6 months old, of Nicoma Park died Monday at his home.

Survivors include his parents, Daryl and Terra Hampton of the home; brother, Logan Wayne Hampton of the home; maternal grandparents, Roger and Candice Wooten of Nicoma Park; paternal grandparents, Janice Lee and Danny Watts of Spencer; and great-grandparents, J.C. and Edna Ozbirn.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah.

Services are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service in Harrah.

Roma Lee Hudson
Roma Lee Hudson, 71, of Asher died Tuesday at her home.

She was born Sept. 15, 1931, in Wanette to George David Giddens and Edith Ann Pratt Giddens. She was the fourth of seven children.

She grew up and attended school in Wanette. On June 9, 1948, she married Bill Hudson in Shawnee. They lived in the Wanette and Asher areas most of their lives, where they farmed and ranched. They had three children, and she was a homemaker.

Hudson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill, in 1991; three sisters, Louise Crane, Kay Lindsey and Norma Franks; and a brother, George David Giddens.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Karen Odell and husband Leroy of Byars, and Mary Brown of Stratford; a son, Everett Hudson and wife Patti of Asher; a sister , Betty Duck and husband Claude of Shawnee; a brother, Clarence "Sam" Giddens and Corrine of Arlington, Texas; a sister-in-law, RaeVella Giddens Friesen of Hutchinson, Kan.; three brothers-in-law, John Crane of Maryland, Jerry Lindsey of California and Claud Franks of Hot Springs, Ark.; four grandchildren, Laura Ayers, Lyna Yott, Candace Fowler and Jerrus Harris; four great-grandchildren and other relatives and rand friends.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Asher Church of Christ with D.W. "Red" Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Wanette Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home of Purcell.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Garland Austin Bundy
Garland Austin Bundy, 80, of Seminole died Sunday in Sulphur.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Louise Bundy of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Janan Kautz of Seminole and Susan and Mark Hanna of Allen, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Services were 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Belford officiating. Burial was in Rosedale Cemetery in Ada. Arrangements were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Candi F. Cotten
Candi Fay Cotten, 19, of Shawnee died Tuesday in Shawnee.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Garden Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Emmons officiating.

Other information is pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
